Barbara Banks Photography

Barbara had been my dream photographer since early in the planning stages when I saw her photos online. After meeting with her in July, I was blown away by her talent and really loved her work. To be perfectly honest, she is not the cheapest photographer you will find in the area, but in my opinion she is the best and definitely worth every penny. She showed up at 3pm and stayed till 11pm with a second photographer. She was completely unobtrusive, but really knows how to get the shot. We got our photos back from her earlier than we expected and we were SO HAPPY with them! I can honestly say that I love all 700 pictures that we got from her. I think that when choosing a photographer, you really have to pick someone you want with you all day b/c they really will be with you ALL day- our personalities really meshed with Barbara's and she was a pleasure to work with. Additionally, we were supposed to do engagement shots the day before the wedding, but we weren't able to b/c of thunderstorms. Barbara was willing to wait until 30 minutes before when we realized that the weather wasn't getting any better and then she was completely willing to spend Sunday evening on the beach with us instead. I cannot recommend Barbara highly enough, she's incredible.

As I sit down to write this letter, it dawns on me that I have not done such a thing for a long, long time. The last time I wrote a fan letter was probably in 1980 for Scott Baio…. I guess it takes a lot of admiration before I chose to put pen to paper.

Barbara Banks took the pictures at my November 2009 wedding and I have become her biggest fan. When I look at the images, I am immediately brought back to those special, precious moments in time.

Many young girls imagine what their wedding day will be like when they grow up. So, I don’t even need to mention how important it is to a bride to preserve those memories. Your wedding day has a tendency to pass by in a blink of an eye. Yet, Barbara’s photos allow me to relive that day over and over again... a day I dreamed about my whole life.

Barbara has an incredibly keen eye and superb design aesthetic. She captures real emotions and precise sentiments in her digitized images. She manages to find interesting angles and beautiful lines, which compliment her subjects. Barbara has a true gift.

Lastly, I will say that Barbara was extremely professional. Our pictures were ready within a few weeks and they were presented to us in beautiful packaging. She was willing to accommodate all of our special requests and unusual needs. She explored creative, new ideas with us and found exciting approaches to traditional wedding photography… our photos are truly unique and tailored to our wants and dreams. They are everything I ever imagined.

We began our relationship with this vendor several months prior to our wedding in Nov. 2008. As of August 14th, 2009 this vendor abruptly terminated our agreement and shipped back our proofs. This was after months and months of waiting for our album completion and being extremely patient with the neverending delays. We finally sent an email in early August after learning it would be another 2 months before receiving our final album, 11 mo since we got married. In our email we expressed our disappointment & discontent with the length of time the process was taking. After months of being told we would have our album in August, we were then told it would be another 2 months. We asked the vendor to prioritize our project and commit to a date. The vendor did neither, and instead of working with us and coming to the table with some offer of customer service, they terminated our agreement. After an 18 mo. relationship this is how we were treated, & this was the 1st time we expressed discontent. We really enjoyed working with Barbara, she did a great job at our wedding, however the post-wedding process was the 'black' mark on our perfect experience.

Absolutely fabulous!!! Everything went very smoothly and the pictures turned out beautifully. I loved having a female photographer because she was able to be in the room with me when I got dressed. My DH and I decided to see each other before the ceremony for pictures and I am so glad we did. It really calmed my nerves and I think we got more pictures that way.
