Bay Oaks Country Club

I cannot say enough good things about Royal Oaks. We looked at several venues in Houston, but this one was it. The view, the decor, all beautiful. What made them different though, was the service. From the very beginning Liz was fantastic, answering all of my (crazy) questions, and always being so pleasant to work with. It made my entire wedding planning experience stress free. She offered advice, and made my ideas come to life. The day of the wedding was incredible. Words cannot express how grateful I am to all of the staff at Royal Oaks. They made us feel like royalty...and not just us...guests are still talking about their experience two months later. The food was beyond excellent, and I don't think they ever let anyone's glass get empty. The bar tender would have our drinks ready for us the moment he saw us headed in that direction. I couldn't have picked a better venue...from the beauty of the place, to the professionalism of the staff.

My daughter’s wedding reception was held at Royal Oaks Country Club on 2/26/2011 and I cannot say enough about their professionalism, attention to detail and help with vendors, not to mention their beautiful facility. Liz Esch, their catering & events director, is warm, helpful, competent and stayed at the reception the whole evening attending to every detail.

We had looked at many reception venues but Royal Oaks proved to be the best in every way. Their sit down dinner was less expensive than their buffet and the dinner was elegant. They have 3 bars, 3 fireplaces and easily accommodated our 180 guests. We decided on the dance floor that was 24 X 20, which was large and perfect for our wedding. The service at the wedding was more than ample and they made every guest comfortable from the vegetarians to the children and all others in-between. I rate them "superior" in every way.

Bay Oaks has an amazing backdrop for their reception, an exceptionally professional staff, and amazing food. The cost for the venue is extremely reasonable considering the detailed work the staff will do for you and the quality of the food they provide. Julie took care of everything for me on the day of the wedding as well, and she did an amazing job. I can't even put into words how pleased my husband and I are at how well everything turned out for our wedding. We highly recommend Bay Oaks since they will take care of any of your needs during your reception so you can have a great time.

Royal Oaks is pricier than your average reception venue in Houston, but my husband and I fell in love with the place. It was just so elegant inside and beautiful outside, so we were willing to pay extra because we liked the venue so much. Because they're primarily a private country club, they're not very flexible with wedding-related stuff - I think their limit is 1 wedding a month. There was no free tasting; at our tasting (to decide what to include for our reception menu), we had to pay full price for each item. However, the food was delicious! We had about 220 guests for a seated dinner, which was a comfortable fit - we even had room for a dance floor. The layout isn't perfect, though - because of the number of guests, we had to use all 3 connecting rooms, but even with the area fully opened, there were still some permanent wall panels jutting out, so some people had to get out of their seats to see what was going on in the main room. Overall, I was very happy with having our reception at Royal Oaks.
