BayView Event Center and Charter Cruises

Bayview and staff were very helpful, professional, accommodating, wonderful to work with!

Bayview did a fabulous job! We had the wedding outdoors in their garden area with a social hour following - the wedding took less time than we anticipated and the social hour was not to start for another half hour - I found one of the staff and inquired if we could start earlier and was told 'absolutely'...the appetizers were delivered within 10 minutes after I inquired and I was so surprised because there were two other weddings going on during this time! Impressive? I would say YES!

The reception food was outstanding and every guest was impressed with the portion sizes and quality of the food. One of our guests personally thanked the Chef - he has traveled around the world and attend3d many events and was far more impressed with the food he was served that night than anywhere else. He had split his entree choice with another person at his table and enjoyed the Filet Mignon and the Pistachio Crusted Walleye - both were beyond his expectations!

The reception room was arranged exactly how I had instructed it to be and the wait staff were absolutely wonderful, friendly and very accomodating...we ended up with an additional six people who had not RSVP'd and they set up another table immediately. I would highly recommend using Bayview for your wedding and reception needs. You will not be disappointed and knowing that everything is being handled on the day of the event and you have nothing to worry about is definitely a plus.

We had the ceremony outside with Lake Minnetonka as our backgorund and the reception was indoors in the upstairs Minnetonka room. Wendy was our wedding planner, she made sure the place was gorgeous and it was! One thing that was great about Bayview is we had a cocktail hour with drinks and appetizers set up for our guests on site so there was never that akward time gap between the ceremony, pictures and then reception.

I Absolutely LOVED having my reception at Bayview!!! From the very first time I walked in, until leaving the night of my wedding, I felt comfortable and confident that everything was being taken care of. They were helpful with any and all questions I had. I felt that the food was reasonably priced and i LOVED that all of the "hidden fees" associated with receptions and venues were laid out on the table and basically included in the final price. So my husband and I knew exactly what we were getting and what we were paying for. THE FOOD IS GREAT! The service staff on the night of my reception was incredible. The head server was on the ball and so helpful. She was amazing. Our coordinator, Kerry, was awesome to work with. She was patient with me (between my mom and I we had a million questions) and was very reassuring that everything was going to go perfectly...and it did. I LOVED Bayview. It was beautiful and just the perfect place for our reception. (Minnetonka room) The only thing I would have changed was the ability to bring in snacks or food from the outside. There could be no beverages or snacks from outside of Bayview and their catering. We had to nix a few of the fun ideas we had because we couldn't bring in outside food, but again, Kerry was amazing at helping us work out other ideas that would be just as fun!

I have already recommended (and gotten one friend to book) this venue to others.

We used Bayview as our caterer for a wedding at Silverwood Park. Overall, we were happy with Bayview's service and are glad that we picked them! We had a Sunday brunch. We thought the price was reasonable for the food provided. The food was very good, and we got good comments on it. Many of our guests came back for seconds. The linens and table skirts they provided were nice. We were very pleased with the chairs provided for the ceremony (they were classy, and I think we even picked the cheapest white chairs they had available). I very much appreciated that Bayview allowed us to bring in our own alcohol (in fact, this is one of the main reasons we chose Bayview as our caterer). Overall, it was great food for a good price compared to the other caterers we could choose from.

Some suggestions for improvement (most of them small)
1) the caramel rolls were inedible (too hard)
2) the ham tasted good but was a bizarre color
3) our knife to cut the cake was not available at the scheduled time
4) staff showed up late, putting stress on getting everything ready by the right time
5) Bayview started taking down our ceremony chairs toward the end of the reception (but before it was done), and I think this caused people to leave earlier. They should have waited until later because it looked like our guests were supposed to leave.

Overall, we were satisfied with the price and quality of Bayview’s service, and I would recommend them.

They were excellent thru the whole process of planning our wedding and met everyone of oour needs up until the day of the ceremony! Would recommend that they are more involved and more accessible during rehearsal process.

Bayview was booked last minute when our other hall fell through. They were very nice to work with and everything they said would be included was. The cooridinators were nice and the wait/bar staff was very friendly. Bayview is very pretty!

This venue is beautiful and VERY professional! They walked us through everything so we were clear on what to expect. The reception area was sooo beuatiful and decorated just perfectly! A few special accommodations were granted and we were able to have a dream reception! Only thing I would say was a negative was that we had 200 people for dinner and some of the tables were set up on the dance floor. The guests who were seated at these tables were served their dinner last and then asked to get up so they could remove the tables for the dance! I wasn't aware of this until a week ago when I spoke to one of the guests affected. It was a bit embarrassing They Didn't even have time to finish their dinner!! This should have been a priority for the serving crew. maybe could have used a few more servers for this many guests to speed it up a bit. The servers we DID have were amazing and VERY accommodating! Just a great experience overall!

Overall, our experience with Bayview was good. We utilized Bayview for our wedding rehearsal dinner (through their charter cruises) and our wedding reception. Leading up to the wedding, the sales staff and wedding coordinator were helpful, kind and we generally enjoyed working with them. We had absolutely no complaints there. The day of the rehearsal and wedding, the pro's were as follows:

Pros:
1. Outstanding food - everyone was seemingly happy, and thought the food tasted wonderful!
2. Kind and courteous staff. Especially our coordinator, Racheal.
3. Even though they were running behind of schedule, they moved quickly and efficiently to get the dance floor ready.

Cons:
1. Parking. Huge problem ... many family and friends, including our photographer couldnt find parking. We had been warned that this might be an issue, but the only remedy offered would have been for us to pay a very high fee for a valet, which they couldn't gaurantee would help assure parking for our guests anyway. Granted, as our wedding was after Labor Day, they were not expecting such high boat and Bayside/Maynards traffic, and there was not much they could do. It seems that for this size of venue, they just dont have enough parking to accommodate groups filling both of their event rooms.
2. There was a few minor mis-communications with an event staff member at the end of the night which rubbed a few people the wrong way; however, everything was resolved.
3. Timing, food ran late out of the kitchen; but most of the guests barely noticed.

The only con that really affected our day for the worse was the parking, as our guests were a little disgruntled. However, Bayview was great overall! I would recommend them to anyone.

While the venue at Bayview is beautiful, it is expensive! They tried to increase the food prices after we put down a deposit. We ended up getting the quoted prices, but not without some struggles. We also wanted to bring in our own wine, but the corkage fee was outrageous and so we were stuck with their wine. Overall, despite the hiccups, we had a wonderful wedding.

Was great to deal with up until rehearsal night, no staff was around to help we actually had to go looking for them they came down told us some answers to our questions and then disappeared so we had to go looking for them again.....this caused the rehearsal to run late so we were then late for dinner. Beautiful location!

We were married seven years ago. We had the entire place because our wedding was on a Sunday. It was an amazing day. There were a few glitches, and there seemed to be a staffing issue.We spent a lot of time giving them a timeline, and at the beginning of the day here were some communication issues. It all worked itself out, and it was a wonderful day. People still talk about it from the ceremony by the water, the boat ride happy hour, and the spectacular main room on the second floor. I remember it all fondly, and would recommend it for sure.

The sales people were slow to return calls and answer questions, and in general weren't very helpful. However, the boat staff, the night of the wedding was incredibly helpful. They were quick to do everything they could to make our wedding perfect! We used the Bay View Charter Cruises, rather than the Event Center.

Our experience with Bayview before our wedding day was pretty positive and we were excited for our reception. And most of our reception went smoothly. However, within five minutes of arriving at the reception, one of the waitresses spilled a mimosa down the front of my dress. It was obviously a mistake and we all took it in stride. Then before we left, my mom approached the event director and asked if they would be willing to pay for the dry cleaning. She got really weird and was like, "Oh, I don't think we can do that. It was a mistake." In my opinion, they should have been ALL over paying for getting the dress cleaned (we shouldn't have had to ask!) They ended up paying for half of the cleaning (after some convincing). But like I said, the rest of the day was really great. And there would have been a lot more "5 star" ratings above if we had avoided the spilling. :)

Our wedding was outside their building facing Lake Minnetonka and it was so beautiful! The Reception was held on the Biggest boat they offered. The staff on the boat were AMAZING!! So friendly and courteous and out of the way when needed...I hardly noticed they were there at all. The only issues we had were dealing with the wedding coordinators...they seemed not to care since we weren't spending big bucks on them.

I just attended a wedding at Bayview last night for a family member. We did not have the greatest experience. The wedding planners were pretty much no where to be found for most of the day. I saw her maybe 3 times. When there was a little confusion they were not helpful. After the confusion, the staff was overheard upstairs talking about the wedding party. Very unprofessional. The meal was very slow to come out. The food was good and the waitstaff was very friendly. But overall a very unprofessional and unorganized experience.

While we had a great time and the boat crew was great. The admin staff was horrible to deal with. The date we reserved got booked, we were ignore for 2 weeks when this happened. I constantly had to call when my emails did not get answered.

Items to go on the boat got lost, or never brought. And because of this we were late casting off.

I will not deal with them again.

Bayview Event Center is a beautiful venue for a wedding or event. Whether indoors or on the grounds, this location is a great venue with spectacular views of Lake Minnetonka. Bayview staff is professional, efficient and friendly.

It feels like we're at Bayview Event Center just about every weekend. Every time the space looks beautiful and the staff is prepared and well organized.

When you combine a beautiful property overlooking the lake with a friendly and professional staff, it's hard to go wrong.

BayView is a beautiful event center and the entire staff is wonderful to work with!

I hadn't shot a wedding at Bayview Event Center before, and when I did this past November it was the first snow fall AND the first blizzard of the season. Ouch!

The venue was gorgeous! Everything was perfect, the Lake Minnetonka room had am amazing rustic feel to it with a great view of Lake Minnetonka, and the table linens, decor, service and overall experience was just wonderful.

As a wedding photographer, I depend on the reception venue to provide me with some great photo opportunities, and Bayview did not disappoint. While my photos from that wedding were published on Wedding Wire's blog, the scenery and detail that Bayview provided for the bride and groom gave me a great location to capture!
