I loved my reception and the food and view was perfect. It is the perfect medium for a lovely wedding occasion that is not the full fledged $$$ wedding but still elegant, gourmet food and with the most gorgeous ocean view. I cant say enough about the dinner. It was outstanding. I do have the following minor complaints but want to assure people this is probably one of the best possible places you could have a small to medium sized reception in a restaurant- or out on lawn ocean front setting. BUT....the cake was simple and not super fabulous. It was starting to sort of melt and shift which can happen to the best cakes here in Hawaii from the heat. I would recommend having the cake brought in by separate professional wedding cake baker and paying the fee. Although it was fine for my informal and semi casual little wedding group. The other small things that could have been better are that the table cloths were not ironed--they had fold marks whcih I notice in my wedding pictures. They forgot or neglected to bring coffee and tea with our desert. It was supposed to be included in our menu meal and the bill was not particularly small. We were to busy enjoying our party to notice until we had already left.

We had our post wedding dinner at The Beach House restaurant on May 24, 2007 and it was perfect! I wouldn't call it a reception since it was just a dinner. We had 28 guests (including ourselves) and were able to select from one of their many dinner menus. We hosted our guests in the Lower Surf Lanai which is covered but outside and steps away from the grass overlooking the ocean. This spot is supposed to make for a great sunset but our dinner was at 8pm and thus missed the sunset. The staff at The Beach House are very professional, thoughtful and very accomodating. The food is spectacular.

Our anniversary dinner. I made reservations 2 weeks ahead for the first seating (at 5:30 sunset was at 6:02). We had an amazing view of the ocean and the sunset. The food was good. We both had scallops, Mike had the thai scallops and I had the lemongrass. We also had the crabcakes for an appetizer and the molten chocolate desire for dessert. Delicious! They had a professional photographer there who for $20 would take a sunset photo of you and print out a 5x7 copy.
