Scott and Julia did an amazing job with both our engagement and wedding photos. As friends, we knew we could count on them to make us relaxed and comfortable, and to make the photo process fun. As photographers, we had seen their previous work and knew they would do a great job with our own wedding. They took a ton of shots and captured some really meaningful moments. They had to contend with a bright and warm outdoor wedding and handled it really well. They were great about suggesting shots we might not have thought of, and took some creative photos to add to the mix. Having a team of two meant they were able to capture different angles and moments which made for a variety of great photos. The trick now will be to whittle down to the best of the bunch for our photo book. Tons of great shots to choose from. They come highly recommended!

Bear and Penguin photography are fantastic photographers, and such a great value! My (now) husband and I had Bear and Penguin take our engagement photos and they were so friendly, creative, and flexible - the day was so fun and we walked away with some AMAZING photos. They continued to impress us once we saw their photo editing skills. We loved all our engagement photos and used them on our wedding website and for our save the date card. We would have hired them for our wedding, but they were already booked! We definitely recommend Bear and Penguin photography!

Scott and Julia were spectacular during the entire wedding process. Since it was our first time, and as a young couple we didn't know anything about what kind of pictures we needed/wanter. Scott and Julia, always made sure to ask what we wanted first, and if we couldn't think of anything or had something missing, they were both full of great ideas. Like photography wedding planners. We especially appreciated that they were with us every step of the way. From pre-planning, to the engagement photo shoot to the rehearsal dinner to set up for the ceremony to my wife and I getting ready before the ceremony to the ceremony and throughout the entire reception. The photos turned out amazing and they got them to us much quicker than we had expected. We highly recommend this capable duo! Eric and Yenly, married 2010 in Santa Barbara.

About Bear and Penguin Photography
Bear (Scott) and Penguin (Julia) Photography, is a husband and wife team based out of the beautiful little beach town of Carpinteria, California. We shoot weddings primarily in Santa Barbara, Goleta, and Carpinteria though we have traveled to other locations as well, including San Diego, Napa, and Hawai'i. We take the responsibility of recording one of the most important days of your life extremely seriously but we love to have fun with our photography. It's not uncommon to see Scott hanging off a railing with Julia desperately counterweighting at his legs to get a great shot (we're team players). You'll see us anywhere from on top of tables/chairs (particularly Julia because she's short) to lying belly down on the floor. We love to capture the little details but do not lose sight of the big picture.
Your relationship to your wedding photographer is important. Remember that you are letting us capture one of the most intimate and emotional events in your life.
