Beautiful Cakes by Ron

I have heard really good reviews about them so when I saw that my cake was not what I asked for I was very disappointed. It did taste very good and the flavors were right but I sketched and designed the cake myself with a lot of symbolism and he messed up most of it. I also had peacocks on my cake and after seeing a lot of his wonderfully designed cakes I expected something beautiful but instead it looked like he bought some peacocks from Michaels and stuck them on top.

Our wedding cake was included in our wedding package, so we did not have to shop around for cakes. Also, we kept things pretty simple in terms of the appearance of the cake. That being said, the cake looked and tasted great. My only complaint was that our tasting appointment took forever, and we never even met Ron! All in all, still happy with the cake.

I cannot begin to explain how amazing my wedding cake was. All I had to do was send in photos of the cakes that I liked and they took care of the rest. I was able to use a cake topper handed down to me from my grandmother and they made it perfect. I never got to meet with them prior to the wedding day because my wedding was a destination wedding but nonetheless Cakes By Ron was able to provide the wedding cake of my dreams. Thank you so much I could not have asked for anything more!

Ron and his son did a beautiful job with our cake and cupcakes for our commitment ceremony. They even let us change what cupcakes we wanted 3 days before the ceremony. They were very patient and everything was DELICIOUS!!

We had 2 different flavors in our cake. My husband and I both loved each flavor. The cake was beautiful and the staff at Cakes by Ron were wonderful when my mom and I went for a tasting. They were so easy to work with and willing to do whatever I asked.

My cake was so delicious and stunning, it was really a focal point of the wedding. We asked for a very simple cake with huge petals cascading down the side of the cake. It was magnificent, a real show stopper. Not only was it beautiful, it was delicious! The cake was moist, the frosting was perfect and the filling was divine. Ron and his staff are just top notch professionals. Look no further, Cakes by Ron is the choice.

I only got a chance to try one bite of my cake on the wedding day, but it was delicious. The cake was beautifully decorated, just how we asked. The only negatives that I can think of was that it was difficult to schedule a tasting on the weekend, which was the only time both of us could go. Also, communication was not the greatest at times and the tasting was not as fun as I thought it could be. If Cakes by Ron had better customer service and focused more on the client's experience, then I would have given them 5 stars because their cakes are fabulous.

Not only was our cake absolutely gorgeous, but it tasted amazing as well. Ron did such a great job at capturing my vision for our cake. Perfection!

After much searching for the perfect Wedding cake for my daughter's wedding, we contacted Cakes By Ron and set up an appt. The cakes were beautiful and delicious. We designed our own cake and that wasn't a problem at all for Ron. He quickly drew out exactly what we wanted and the cake was perfect upon delivery. I would most definitely use him again for any cake in the future.

I looked everywhere for someone to make our eatable cranes for the top of our cake! We love Cakes by Ron, very talented, and professional! Would recommend to anyone looking!

When we first began the search for our wedding cake, we were quite clueless as to what we wanted. We wandered into Cakes by Ron (upon several recommendations) and they were so welcoming and helpful. We looked through their books and found our perfect cake. They then brought out samples of various flavors for us to try - yum! Our food was southern, so in keeping with that, we chose lemon and butter pecan as our flavors. Yum again! A few months later, I returned by myself to order a groom's cake. I told them, "My fiance LOVES, I mean LOVES, margaritas. Can we do something with that?" In less than two minutes, they sketched out a beautiful design. On the day of our wedding, when I saw that groom's cake - WOW!! It was perfect! And the groom was very happy! WONDERFUL experience!

I currently live in Texas but had a destination wedding in Tampa, Florida. We searched far and wide for the perfect cake vendor. After careful research, we decided to check out Beautiful Cakes by Ron. We were very impressed with his work that we saw on his website so we set up a tasting while on vacation. The presentation was awesome! All the different flavors of cake were so delicious and different from other shops we had been to! He made us feel confident to hire him and promised that he could create whatever we wanted. His designs are amazing and his cake is even more amazing! He made our 5 tier wedding cake (with 5 different flavors), our grooms cake (a 3D red fish), and cupcakes (favors for our guests). Everyone was in awe of the wedding cake and the grooms cake! Everything was beautiful and well made as promised. The cakes and cupcakes were delivered on time and I couldn't have been more pleased with the service we received from Ron and his team. The surprise extra was that he and his team helped us tremendously with putting our cupcake favors together and I will forever appreciate that. It took a lot of stress off my plate. You will not be disappointed when choosing Cakes by Ron, in fact it will be the extreme opposite. Perfect in every way!

Our cake was perfect!!! Cakes by Ron did a great job listening to everything we wanted and making the perfect cake!!! Every detail was perfect! the cake was moist and delicious! I would recommend the chocolate cake with fresh raspberry!!!

Dealing with Cakes By Ron was great! I would suggest calling because it would take a few days for them to e-mail back. At our meeting prior to the wedding we had a cake tasting and they sketched out the design of the cake. I gave them a picture and the cake looked so similar! It was a seashell cake and the a mermaid color. It was so detailed and the shells looked very real. The topper was a heart with shells and that looked wonderful too. The cake was absolutely beautiful. It tasted great too! I was thrilled with the final product.

Cakes by Ron provided my wedding cake on 5/28/11. I did not get a chance to see my cake prior to entering my reception, which I now deeply regret.

Upon entering the room I noticed immediately that my $300 caketopper was not on the cake!!! If your cake means a lot to you, don't go with Ron. I told my planner to fix it only to find out that Cakes by Ron does not have a emergency number and so I ended up trying to ignore how angry i was for most of the reception. The cake tasted fine, but it wasn't exactly the design I wanted either. I"m regretting not going to the other cake shop further down on Fruitville Rd. (we tasted their cake and itw as delicious too). After the wedding i went to Ron's shop. Not only did he completly forget to put my cake topper on my cake, he didn't notice he made the mistake until after i showed up 2 days later.

My cake was so beautiful and tasted so good. The first time I met with Ron he drew me a picture of my cake that I described to him and it was exactly what I wanted. Ron did an exactly job with our cake!

CAKES GONE WRONG!!!! I don't know how they are still in business. When first dealing with them I should of known it wouldn't go right, from the fact of never getting back to me in a timely manner or when, My parents stopped in ahead of time to pay for the grooms cake and drop my cake topper off and said the owner had a personality of a rock! I wouldn't recommend Beautiful cakes by RON for my dogs birthday! Long story short. They forgot my grooms cake the day of my wedding and instead of contacting me (BRIDE) the next day I had to contact them. At this time I was beyond angry. LAURA was nothing but rude and unprofessional. Cakes by RON claim they "FORGOT" to deliver my grooms cake because they were so busy. But yet had time to deliver my wedding cake which was the wrong filling in the middle. At last I was refunded my money and the cake was delivered the next day, which was also the wrong flavor and filling as well. If you looking for cake for any ocassion your better off going to PUBLIX GROCERY STORE.

Fun, beautiful cake that was absolutely delicious. Each of the three tiers had a different flavor that we picked at a cake tasting. We described roughly what we had in mind, Ron sketched out an idea and turned it into a beautiful cake.

Our wedding cake was absolutely GORGEOUS and delicious! After pricing and checking out other vendors we knew we had to book Beautiful Cakes by Ron right away! They were affordable but also the most beautiful cakes we had ever seen in real life. I highly recommend them if you want an amazing wedding cake that tastes phenomenal!

If I could give this no stars I would. I loved the cakes and they were beautiful, tasted good....but not AT ALL what I asked for. I sent them pictures from Afhanistan, because I was overseas planning my wedding. I sent about 10-15 emails regarding the complete specifics of my wedding. Down to every single detail that you could imagine. IF in fact, they could not do this at any time, I would have gone elsewhere, but I was assured it would be exactly as pictured, as well as some things changed to my liking, that were written very clearly.

Needless to say when I got my cake, I flipped out, both the grooms cake and the wedding cake were so off from what I asked and he told me he could accomplish, that I feel like I was a victim. When I contacted him, he stated, thats all i could do, sorry....I am so dissapointed and to any bride out there, please go somewhere else. Yes the cakes LOOK amazing, and if it were for someone elses wedding, then I would be impressed,,,,,but it was mine, and the most photographed item, besides the bride and groom are the cakes...and they were seriously mistaken if they think that I was happy to shell out 900 dollars...for a cake that I did not ask for..go elsewhere!!

Beautiful Cakes by Ron are just that --- beautiful! My husband and I wanted cupcakes in our wedding. Cakes by Ron had excellent recommendations on how to make them cool and interesting --- they also created a beautiful, small cake layer for us to keep for our 1-yr. The cupcakes were delicious (we chose five different flavors!) and we received compliments all night on how fun and cool they were. They're a bit pricey but totally worth it!

Our cake for our wedding was spectacular!! It was exactly what I wanted and more! It looked great and tasted great too! The color that he used matched exactly to my colors in my wedding. It was basically perfect, couldn't have asked for more! Thanks again Ron and staff!

I don't know what happened with our cake and cupcakes for the wedding. We love Beautiful Cakes by Ron and have purchased their cupcakes for all special occasions since 'discovering' them last year.

What we love is that their cupcakes, aside from being the most delish I've tasted, are large--nearly a meal in themselves.

However, what we GOT was as if they were from someone else altogether: tiny little cupcakes, no way to tell them apart (we had 3 flavors) and the coloring was completely wrong.

It felt like they gave us someone elses order, almost.

We ordered a small cake for cutting (boston creme), along with boston creme, chocolate raspberry and coconut flavored cupcakes. We provided color samples, which were to have been matched exactly, according to Ron himself.

We were never told that the size of the cupcakes would vary. In fact, I phoned shortly before and spoke to Ron Jr about what size boxes to get in case folks wanted to take them home from the wedding. He stated the standard size, and I purchased 4x4 boxes.

The cupcakes we got were half that size. Each had a white frosting (which isn't the norm), and it was impossible to tell which of the two white ones were which. And, NONE of them was a boston creme, just a plain vanilla!

Our colors were dark purple with hints of bright apple green and mandarin orange/red.

What we got looked like turquoise with a bluish-purple and some yellow.

Had I known, I could've just purchased the same amount of cupcakes for the same price and piped on my colors myself! It wasn't what we expected at all, unfortunately.

The guests didn't know the difference and what we had did taste yummy....but we weren't thrilled with what we got. :(

Ron did a FABULOUS job on both our grooms cake and our wedding cake. My cake was gorgeous. AND it was sooo yummy on top of everything else. I got endless compliments on the cake

OUR CAKE WAS GORGEOUS.....and delicious. Ron and his staff were great to work with, and they delivered the exact cake I have always dreamed about. Their flavors were incredible, their design was amazing, and we would recommend them over and over again. Thank you Ron.

We got cupcakes instead of a wedding cake. They were DELICIOUS! However, I would have liked to be in more contact with the vendor. I only spoke with them when I called. I had to send them a picture twice for the grooms cupcakes. They were flexible in the designs they could do as well as the tasting and delivery. They came off a bit unorganized with made me slightly uneasy but they were there when they said they would be with a great product.

Our cake was beautiful! We chose Cake by Ron based on Wedding Wire reviews. We did not make an appointment but just stopped in one afternoon. Ron was very accommodating offering us many books and time to browse. Once we had ideas, Ron designed our cake based on our comments on what we liked and did not like. The day of our wedding, our cake was set back out of the way until the start of the reception. When I saw them move the cake out, my breath was taken away. It was more beautiful than I could have imagined! Ron did an amazing job on the design. And, the flavors were to die for! Guests still talk about how good the cake was--not believing that it was wedding cake. Thanks again Ron!

Oh my Gosh! The cakes were beautiful! My daughter's wedding was on Siesta Key Beach and she wanted something different from the traditional beach wedding cake and grooms cake - She wanted a Siesta Key Beach sand castle & sand bucket. That is exactly what she got!! Her cake looked just like a sand castle made from the whitest sands of Siesta Key Beach and tasted heavenly, the grooms cake was the sand bucket used to make the castle complete with the bucket & shovel being the colors of the wedding and filled with the sand and shells from the beach. Cakes by Ron is amazing….(just look at their website, you’ll see what I mean!). My husband and I had an outdoor beach wedding and chose his seashell cake. It was fabulous! Not only beautiful but so delicious. We chose white cake filled with canolli filling for one layer, and chocolate with chocolate mousse for the 2nd tier. It was divine! I cannot recommend Cakes By Ron more….they’re amazing!

Cakes by Ron was our third cake tasting..THe other places were good, but when we went to Ron's, his cake was amazing!! It blew away the others. Not only was his cake the best tasting, it was cheaper then the other places. His cakes are awesome and the finished product was great. I would recommend going to his shop and trying his cupcakes, they are to die for! We still drop in and pick up cupcakes at times.

Ron is great! We tried several different cakes with fillings and looked at many different cakes! He let us custom make our cake with 4 different layers and 4 different cake flavors and fillings!

It looked spectacular! It required so minimal effort and contact! It was great because with so many other things going on it's so much easier to know that one thing is off your list and under control!

I absolutly loved my wedding cake by Cakes by Ron. They were all very friendly. I gave them a picture of what I wanted and what I wanted to change and my cake turned out just like I imagined.

I loved my cake for my beach wedding from Ron, he was willing to do whatever I asked and the cake not only looked gorgeous but was sooo delicious. Thankyou sooo much.

I wish now, that I had read the reviews on the cakes. We were very disappointed with our wedding cakes. What we wanted/ordered is not what we got. I asked for mini cakes about cupcake size, and got much larger 6 inch cakes. Too much for one person to eat. We also asked for slight lavender shading around the outside of the heart. What we got was lavender hearts which looked like kid's valentine conversation hearts. What a joke !!! Also our cake topper was not on the cake. And not even at the restaurant. After reviewing e-mails. we were charged $45 more than originally quoted. I took the pics out of our wedding album, because they were an embarrassment And let's not leave out Laura....RUDE RUDE RUDE!!! If your shop could not do ask we wanted/ordered, you could have and should have told us. We would have gone elsewhere, and got what we wanted. After all...it was OUR wedding.

Let me start out by saying how beautiful my wedding cake was. I was able to email Ron and his co-workers a picture of a cake I saw online and they did exactly that picture for my wedding day. Like many of the services we used, we had to coordinate things over the phone and never actually met Ron. However, we really never needed to because he was extremely organized and flexible with whatever we wanted to do. Also, our cake tasted amazing! I would use Cakes by Ron for any other special day that required something sweet. Thanks!

Just a month before our wedding I contacted cakes by ron to discuss design. Despite the short notice, Ron came up with the most beautiful and fresh wedding cake to fit our wedding decor and taste. Not only did the cake look beautiful but it had the most rich and delicious taste on each layer (carrot cake was amazing!) We would highly recommend cakes by Ron for any couple looking for a tasty and beautiful work on art.

Ron was great to work with, as mentioned don't even try to email him because if you get a reply it'll be weeks later. I sent my information by email that he advised me to, I finally had to call and make sure he received it two weeks later. In regards to the cake, it was very very good well worth the money! They also brought it and set it up in a timely fashion. I would recommend working with him, just communicate with him in person or by phone.

Ron recently made my wedding cake for my BLING themed wedding, It was the most amazing thing I have ever layed eye's on!!

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!!! I really can't describe them any other way. They did my wedding 10 years ago, and now they did my daughter's. The different flavors she picked, for the different layers was done impeccably. There was no cake left at the end of the night. Have you ever been to a wedding where that happens??

Our wedding cake turned our beautiful. And it was amazingly tasty! All of our guests commented on how great it tasted. The only thing I would warn is that the meeting we had with him was a little awkward. It's not a negative, it just caught me very off guard.

Would have been 5/5 all the way except I found out about 4 days before the wedding I had a guest allergic to peanuts. We had peanut butter filling in our grooms cake... I called to change it still had peanut butter in it and the guest ended up quite ill. The groomscake came out phenomenal and was incredibly cheap!

Ron's cake was honestly the best tasting cake we've ever had. We had been to many weddings where the cake tasted awful, and were thrilled to have such a moist and delicious cake for our wedding! Ron also did perfect decorating - exactly what we wanted. We look forward to going back for birthday cakes and other occasions in the future!

When it comes to wedding cakes, there is no one more talented in south Florida than Ron! I was more than thrilled with the finished product-- a cake that my guests are still raving about, a true work of art! Would recommend Beautiful Cakes by Ron to any Florida bride. If you can dream it up, he can create it!

Ron is an artist! His cakes are beautiful. Ron crafted a beautiful cake for us for our wedding in March of this year. Not only was it beautiful, it was delicious (as you'll see when you do a tasting with him).

By the way - I saw someone posted a review about the meeting with him being a bit awkward. I'd like to provide some clarity based on our experience. Ron is an artist, not a salesperson. He won't pressure you to "close the deal" and he may even appear somewhat unengaged, but I don't believe this is intentional; I think that's just his personality. Please do not let that negatively impact your decision. See his cakes, taste his cakes and you'll want to commission him!

His business name doesn't quite say it all. It should be "Beautiful (and Delicious) Cakes by Ron".

Simply A WORK OF ART...the only way to describe Ron's cakes...other than DELICIOUS too! I really believe that the words "beautiful and delicious" are a rare find when it comes to describing most Wedding Cakes. But those words are the only way to describe what you get when you order your cake from "Beautiful Cakes by Ron"!!!

Our wedding cake was absolutely amazing, we picked one from Martha Stewart cake book and it was prettier than even the photo.. The cake was moist and delicious, we were able to have 3 different flavors with the absolute best butter cream frosting ever! The silver stand looked amazing under the cake and really set it off! Ron was a pleasure to work with- he is extremely helpful and calm (which is a great attribute for dealing with brides! :) ) I will definitely recommend him to friends for any event.. And I cannot wait for his new CUPcake store!!! :)

I can't even explain how beautiful Rons cake was. You could smell it from across the room, and it was just absolutly amazing. I had so many compliments on how unique it was. Everyone needs to have one of Rons cakes at their wedding.

Hands down fantastic, recommended by every single wedding professional I talked to as "THE" wedding cake guy in town.... The tasting was a memorable event where I was accompanied by my daughters. I mean even my husband's brothers are still talking about how fabulous the cake at our wedding was: not only fabulous TASTING (omg the Lemon was absolutely over the top!!!) but it was the perfect rendition of my vision: I wanted 3 layers, with simple white frosting, red rose petals here and there, and BUBBLES sitting on each layer. The most beautiful glass bubbles, the most delicious cake I could have imagined! AND the cake on our first anniversary, frozen and then thawed, amazingly tasted ALMOST AS FABULOUS as it did the DAY OF!!! My cake was done by Gail Thompson of "Thompson's Cakes". She started out working for Beautiful Cakes by Ron. She broke off into her own cake store now and buisness is booming! Her cakes were the best thing I have ever tasted. Prices are somewhat high, but it is well worth it! I had people telling me how much they loved it! AND THE DETAIL ON THE CAKE WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!

Looking for a wedding cake was my husband's favorite part of planning our wedding! We went to about 5 different bakeries before going to Beautiful Cakes by Ron (our last stop!). Ron's cakes by far were the most gorgeous and delicious! It was important to us that our cake taste as good as it looked. Our cake ended up being absolutel beautiful and was the cake of my dreams. And the filling was my husband's "dream" (chocolate cake with peanut butter cup icing). We loved our cake so much, I got a replica (a very small one) cake for my husband's birthday, and it was still unbelievably good.

Ron did an amazing job! I had a bunch of ideas for my cake, but no actual idea how I wanted it to look. He took everything I said and managed to make a beautiful cake that was classic and not too over the top despite all the elements. I could not imagine it being more perfect. Also, He was able to perfectly match the embroidery off of my dress and apply it to the cake. He is a true artist. On top of all this it was delicious!

I had a cake in mind, but had trouble drawing it out on paper so I could show Ron. Well, when I sat down with him and started to explain, he began to draw a masterpiece! I almost fell off my chair. It looked liked what I had imagined. The day of the wedding I must say that the cake was the perfect touch. He is an artist! It was not just a regular wedding cake. He put his heart and sou in it because it was what I dreamed of!! I wish I could upload a photo.
Beautiful Cake By Ron is AMAZING! Worth Every Penny!

I had a little trouble getting in touch via email but got right in when I called.
He was able to very closely mimic photo of a cake that I had brought him, and it was not an easy cake.
In the end the cake tasted very good and the design closely resembled what I was looking for so I was happy.

Ron made my wedding shower cake, the groom's cake, and our wedding cake.
They were all so incredibly beautiful! People are still talking about them. They not only looked exceptional but they tasted extraordinary as well.

Ron made the most beautiful cake ever for us. The cover of Margaret Braun's book, "Cakewalk" to be precise. He replicated it perfectly and was so easy to connect with. He also did the groom's cake for a cheap $100 and it was amazing as well. I highly recommend him! He has wonderful talent, actually faux painted on the cake itself. A++++++++

I really loved my wedding cake!! I had the Pecan cake with caramel filling..DELISH!!! Everything worked out perectly, but it took as a while to get an initial response from him and we feel that he sort of "got us" on how many servings we would need. I picked out a huge cake, even though I had a large wedding, we had about 9 boxes of leftover cake. He should of suggested at least one tier be iced cardboard to save $..I even asked him about that, and he told us we would need to the whole cake...

I think this was the most planned part of my wedding..I love cupcakes and knew that I wanted a cupcake tower with a single tier of cake at the top (to freeze of course!). The staff at Cakes by Ron did a fantastic job of cupcakes filled with such decadence - everyone loved them. They even made a grooms cake in the shape of a guitar with banana walnut cake- my husband flipped. We recently had our first anniversary and the cake thawed beautifully and the cake was soooo yummy

We had Ron do our cake for both our RD and the wedding. Both turned out great! The RD cake was shaped like 2 suitcases and a lot of people didn’t even realize it was a cake. The wedding cake turned out exactly as I had hoped and Ron even matched the monogram from our stationary. People thought it was fondant, but it was actually buttercream! We got lots of compliments on how yummy the cake was.

I couldn't not of asked for a better experience. Ron, created our wedding cake from scratch based off of the ideas that we gave him. He is so creative and incredible charming, nice, and just awesome! I've already sent business his way.

Ron was such a pleasant person to work with and did such an amazing job on my cakes. I had two cakes done and one was traditional w/ flowers and the other was more of a beach theme cake. Both were beautiful and fit perfectly with my wedding. They not only look great but they taste amazing as well.
