I just saw this review and I had to respond.
I was completely unaware until now that her daughter had a burn. That should have been brought to my attention immediately so at the very least a burn cream could have been applied to the area! The California State Board of Cosmetology requires us to have a first aid kit with us in case of emergencies. We had 2 kits with us that day and if someone had informed me of that situation, it could have been properly handled. On the other hand, that should have never happened and I am so sorry for that!
Just to let everyone know, that assistant has since been fired. She was highly unprofessional and severely lacked the skills that my company strives for.
On the other hand, that day was very chaotic.
By the time my assistant and I arrived, the bride wasn't there yet. Both the flower girl's hair were still wet and the bride's mother had no idea what the flower girl's hair style was supposed to be.
So, we blow dried their hair until the bride arrived. Then, the bride hadn't even showered yet! So, I had to wait for the bride to shower and then style wet hair. So we were already behind schedule due to the above mentioned events. THEN, the bride wanted her makeup done! I hadn't allotted time for this and it wasn't in the contract but it was her day and I wanted to make her happy. So, the bride's makeup was ultimately what made her wedding run late.
That was the first wedding that I have ever had run behind. By her wedding running behind, I was 2 hours late for my next appointment. I'm so lucky that it wasn't another wedding. It was a trial instead or that day would have been a complete disaster!
