Katie did a truly amazing job at my wedding. She did my hair and make up as well as my bridesmaid's hair and make up. Everyone looked so beautiful. My girls had updo's and I wore my hair down but pulled back. (pics in bio) I got so many compliments on my hair and make up and they came out great in the pictures as well. Katie is super sweet, professional, punctual and talented. She listend to exactly what I wanted to look like for my big day. She went out of her way to make everyone of us beyond satisfied. I would recommend any bride-to- be to use Katie and Beauty and the Beach for their wedding.I never felt more beautiful in my life! (My husband thought so too!)

Katie was fantastic! She did my hair and makeup for my engagement pictures and wedding day. She also did hair and makeup for my two bridesmaids, my mom and MIL. Everyone loved working with her and her assistant. They both did an excellent job. Everyone loved their hair and makeup. Katie was on time and stayed on schedule on the wedding day. Our hair and makeup lasted all day and night. I got lots of compliments, as did my girls. During the planning process, I changed my mind about my makeup after my first trial and Katie fit me in for a second trial just a few days before my wedding. She is the nicest person and is great at what she does. I highly recommend her!

First, she came to my house for a trial. Who does that? It was so comfortable and we talked and talked. I think she was there for over an hour! When she was done, I was blown away. I loved it! It was natural but definitely highlighted enough to stand out!

The day of my wedding, she was so great getting to the salon before we all did AND she had done a wedding at 5am that morning. Talk about commitment!! Everyone looked stunning.

Wow! This is all I can say. Katie and her team were prompt, professional, fun and just plain great! I actually found Katie and her company through this website and am so glad I came here to look. I had no idea where to go for a make up and hair person and wanted it to be the same company and I needed them to come to my hotel because I just didn't want to deal with driving somewhere on the day of the wedding. When I was looking at the site I knew this was the place for me. And when my mom and I went and did our preview I knew for sure it was the right choice. Katie lightens the mood and really listened to what I said and how I wanted to look. It was spot on!! I also had her do all of my bridesmaids and the two mothers. So, she came to our wedding location with two assistants and went to work. My bridesmaids absolutely loved her and my mom and my now husband's mom loved her. She does very natural work and is extremely talented. Each of my girls had different hairstyles and each looked perfect! I can't say enough amazing things about Katie and her team. They really were wonderful and I will recommend them to anyone at all I know that is getting married or just needs their hair and make up (or just one or the other) done for an event.

Katie did my hair for my wedding in July and I loved it and I loved her. I have to admit I was really nervous about my hair in general because I have had bad luck in the past with stylists but Katie did a perfect job. I could not have been more happy. Also as a testament to Katies character; my mother had some unfortunate acupuncture which caused bruising on her face on the day of the wedding. Even though I had not hired Katie to do make-up, she told my mom she had a makeup kit in the car that would fix her right up. She was so sweet to my frazzled mother and made her look absolutely gorgeous (without visible bruising too!). She is very nice, very fair, and very talented. I would recommend her to anyone!

Katie and her team did a fantastic job on me and my girls. They even did my FG's hair and it was so cute! My makeup lasted all day and so did my hair. I thought I would have problems because I have naturally curly hair and thought it would be all frizzy. But it wasn't and still looked great at the end of the night!

I met with Katie after having many horrible trials and she wow'd me. I'm very picky about my makeup and she did an amazing job. She completely understood the style I wanted for my wedding. What's awesome is that the girl can do hair too..I loved what she did with my hair. Hair and makeup lasted all day and night. :-)

I loved Katie! She did an even better job on the day of the wedding than she did at the trial. She arrived right on time and had everything she needed. My hair turned out exactly how I wanted and my makeup was perfect. She even covered up my birthmark so that it could not be seen at all. My only complaint is that I had to drive to San Clemente for my trial which is a bit far from Long Beach. She did seem willing to travel to me though if it was absolutely necessary. I was having a hard time finding free time on an evening night but she was totally willing to work with me.

Katie and her girls were so amazing! Everyone loved how their hair and makeup turned out and it was so easy to have them come to us at the hotel where we were getting ready instead of having to go to a salon. I wouldn't have done it any other way and it was one of the best decisions I made to relax me on a stressful day! Her prices are also extremely reasonable! Katie was able to do both my hair and makeup beautifully and it turned out better than I thought it could and she was so easy to be around to have part of my special day. Thanks so much Katie!!

Niki did hair and makeup for me, my maid of honor, and my stepmom, and I can't say enough about how pleased we were with her work.

She arrived on time, made us feel very comfortable and pampered, and made us feel like the most beautiful women in the world! I actually cried when she was finished with my stepmom because I had never seen her look so beautiful.

Niki is extremely talented, kind, patient, and helpful. I would recommend her to any bride.

I would recommend Beauty and the Beach to anyone. Katie was so easy to get along with and incredibly talented. My preview was so much fun and I was totally at ease on my wedding day. She even sqeezed in my mother's makeup and one of my bridemaid's hair and makeup last minute, without ever seeing them. I have never seen my bridesmaid look so beautiful. I felt gorgeous and confident on my wedding day. She was worth every penny. Actually, you can't buy that feeling!!! My pictures turned out awesome and too this day I still get told how beautiful I looked on my wedding day!!!

Katie and her team are AMAZING! Very easy to work with, reasonably priced, personable, flexible, and extremely talented! I can't say enough good things about their work! During my trial, I showed Katie a picture of what I'd like, and I kid you not, she was able to recreate it completely...and made it even better!

They originally were booked to do bridal hair & make up, as well as hair and make up for my 4 bridesmaids. My mom, grandma & cousin originally had appointments at another local salon, and once they saw how great their work was...they called to cancel with the other stylist and Katie & her team were very quickly able to accommodate. They worked really fast, and we were all very surprised to see that the hair and make-up lasted until the very end of the night!! We all got compliments all day and night long! :) I highly recommend her work! I definitely will be calling her again if and when I need hair/make up for any future events!

Katie couldn't have been more accommodating, She was on time and worked efficiently for all my bridesmaids and both mothers. I was a little hesitant with the fake lashes and a pallet she felt was appropriate; but when I saw my photos OH MY GOSH, what an artist. She is calming, quick and extremely talented.

Katie & Niki are absolutely AWESOME! My wedding day was extremely hectic as I had 4 bridesmaids, myself, and both my mom and mother-in-law that needed to have there hair and make-up done by 8:30AM!!! Both Katie & Niki showed up at 4:00 in the morning and busted a move! We all looked the best we had ever looked and I made it to the church ON-TIME!
In addition, my 'pre-view' of my hair and make-up was great. Katie asked me about my colors - time of day - flowers - so that when it came time to do my make-up - she knew exactly what colors would work best; and even though I didn't have my veil at my pre-view; we discussed in detail what type of 'up-do' would work best with my veil. Overall - her professionalism and the time she took with me before my big day was appreciated. I highly recommend Katie and will definitely use her again for any future semi-formal and formal events.

Katie did my hair and makeup for my engagement pictures last May. I have a retro theme to my wedding and so I was looking for someone who could do a very specific look. Katie more than delivered.
I looked just like I had stepped out of a movies screen and I have never felt so beautiful. I got tons of compliments from family and friends. Most people couldn't believe it was me!

Katie is super sweet, on-time, always responds within a reasonable time to my emails, and is worth every penny.

I had Katie Vollmer from Beauty and the Beach do both my hair and makeup. I can't say enough how wonderful of an experience it was. She did my preview and we decided on a look for both my hair and makeup. It was great to know that we had a plan beforehand. She showed up "on time" the morning of my wedding with two assistants who helped work on the bridal party. They did an efficient and great job on everyone. Katie made me feel like a princess. I've never looked so good. With her attention to detail my pictures turned out so amazing. My makeup stayed on all day and my hair didn't get messed up even though I had a veil. If I had to do it all over again Katie would be my #1 choice. She was also the most reasonable of all the other makeup/hair places I contacted... I contacted about 10 places. She was by far the best deal and had the best quality.

Beauty and the Beach did a fabulous job on my wedding day. They were actually a referral from a friend of mine that got married the year before and she loved them too. Katie made my mother and my mother-in-law look beautiful. And my hair and make-up were exactly how I wanted them. I don't like looking too made up and Katie was able to create the perfect balance that looked great in pictures, but wasn't more than I wanted.

As an artist and avid crafter, I knew that almost every aspect of my wedding would be DIY. As you can imagine, the wedding day was *extremely* hectic for me as I tried to get everything ready before the event started.

In fact, the hair and makeup session was my time-out from all the wedding prep, and I got to feel pampered and taken care of. Katie from Beauty and the Beach arrived ahead of schedule, and did a great job getting my mother and myself ready for the big day (Hair & Makeup for both of us). She even brought her own directors chair for me to sit in, and she situated it by the large reception room windows to take advantage of the natural light.

My hair stayed put the entire night: she understood the kind of hairstyle I was looking for (lots of curls, half of it loosely pulled back), and even gave me some extra lipgloss for touch-ups, which was a very thoughtful gesture!

We so enjoyed Katy from Beauty and the Beach. She was very professional and it was a pleasure working with her. She came directly to my location and she made sure we were happy with our look. She took the time to understand when, where, and how our look would make my special day. I can't thank her enough for making me and my bridesmaids look so beautiful on my wedding day. When I was looking for a makeup vendor for our upcoming wedding, I came across Beauty and The Beach and instantly loved their natural look. Their prices are also a little lower than other makeup vendors. Katie was booked for our date and recommended Heather. Not only is Heather fantastic at what she does, but she is so sweet and nice. I had a blast during our preview session, she was easy to talk to and very helpful. She most definitely wanted to make sure I was happy with the preview and really listened to what I wanted. I was very excited she was there on my wedding day to do my makeup and my 6 bridesmaids and 3 mothers. She and her helpers were all fantastic and added to the atmosphere. All of my bridesmaids looked absolutely beautiful and so did my mom, my stepmother, and my mother in law. All 3 moms were a little hesitant to get their makeup done because they didn't want it to look like they were wearing too much makeup and they all ended up loving their look. It was very natural and age appropriate. My bridesmaids were also a little hesitant to get their makeup done, but everyone loved it. Lastly, I loved my look for my big day!!!

I had my hair and make up done by Katie and it was absolutely gorgeous. I was able to bring in a few pictures on the day of my preview and Katie nailed the look I was trying to acheive. I was concerned about my make up looking over done and she really was able to make it look natural and elegant. My bridesmaids also looked fantastic. Katie has a way of doing hair so that it looks so effortless and naturally enhances the Bride's features. It is amazing! It didn't look stiff or overly sprayed, just simple, elegant and beautiful!

Beauty and the Beach was great! They were flexible and able to handle everyone's needs even the ones who didn't plan to get any services. They really made my day so much more special!!!

I found out about Beauty and the Beach from my caterer. Not the usual word of mouth recommendation for a makeup or hair stylist, I know. I loved what I saw on the website and the rates were more affordable than many others I had seen advertised and been quoted. I had done a few trials already and was starting to wonder if there were any wedding stylists out there that didn't want to try to make me look like some kind of weird airbrushed version of myself with larger than life hair. So, I contacted Beauty and the Beach hoping for the best. Katie got right back to me and it was simple to set up a trial session with her. She was professional and extremely friendly from the beginning.

I have had my hair and makeup done numerous times, both for work and as a bridesmaid in various friends' weddings. I am sorry to say that I have usually been unhappy with the results. Not because of the skill level of the stylists, but simply because even if the end result was considered "good", I never felt like myself. When you are working, you have no say in the matter. When you are a bridesmaid, its not about you. When I get my hair or makeup done, I usually just brace myself to not really enjoy that experience. So when it came to my own wedding, I knew I was going to have to choose very carefully.

KATIE AND HEATHER ARE AMAZING. Period. At my trial, Katie took the time to listen to every idea, concern, thought, etc that I had about my wedding and the way I wanted to look. She really listened. She made suggestions. She gave me ideas and was completely open to everything I wanted to try. I had brought my veil with me which was kind of tricky to place in just the right way, and Heather was able to do it flawlessly in about a minute. They even made a diagram of how to place it on that day so we would remember. (who knew that a piece of tulle could be so oddly confusing?)

I booked Beauty and the Beach for my wedding and forwarded the website to my mom, sister, and other bridesmaids. Everyone was thrilled. On my wedding day, I could not have been happier with the job they did. Katie and Heather were on time, professional, calm, and as loving and supportive as my best friends and family that I was surrounded by. Really just incredible energy. And they were like that from the minute they arrived, the whole time they were there, up until they hugged me goodbye I think about 7 hours later.

Ok, good energy does not matter if you don't look good. These women have SKILLS. I received countless raves about my hair and makeup. Countless. And all of my bridesmaids looked beautiful. And so did my mom and my 8 year old flower girl. After Katie did my hair and makeup, she said to tell her if there was anything I didn't like. It seems small but I wanted less of a lined look for my lips. There is no drama with Katie. She just says ok and does what you want.

I would highly highly recommend Katie and Heather to any bride. I feel lucky to have found them!
