I cannot say enough wonderful things about Alison and her staff at Belle Soeur! These ladies are a pleasure to work with and extremely professional. Martha and Jen were my makeup and hair professionals, and both were extremely patient with me during the hair/makeup trial while we were trying to get the perfect look. On the wedding day, they were extremely flexible with getting all of my ladies' hair and makeup perfect. And they were all just fun to be around! I was glad to have them be a part of our wedding day. And the massage! Wow. Dawn made us all more relaxed than I imagined I could possibly be on my wedding day! For any bride who is considering getting a massage on the day of, DO IT! Dawn was just amazing and paid attention to what my body needed. I would absolutely recommend Belle Soeur's professionals to anyone. Alison does her job extremely well, as do her artists and therapists.

I was referred to Belle Soeur by one of my friends who was recently married. For the service Belle Soeur provides - coming to your house, hotel, wherever and making you and the girls gorgeous - the price is really astounding. Alison, the manager, was incredibly responsive, took my thoughts/ideas/look and matched me with an incredible stylist, Gabriela. Gabriela had the difficult task of not only doing my hair, but my bridesmaids, who all have very different hair types. She did an incredible job, and was patient and understanding when a few of the styles didn't quite work out at first.

For my hair, well, it was a work of art. My hair is stick straight, fine, but with a ton of hair. It has never been dyed, I rarely blow dry it, and it NEVER holds a curl. I do not know what she did or what she used, but when I say my hair did not fall out, IT DID NOT FALL OUT. The ENTIRE day and well into the night.

They really are professionals, and came with a nice little setup of fruit, sparkling water, and a little emergency kit (which was great because that was one of the details I forgot about). Nice touch, great price, great service. Highly recommend them.

Belle Soeur Sytles was amazing from start to finish! They are both so much fun to work with and incredibly talented. I had both hair and make-up done. They do everything at the location of your choice from the trial to your big day! They bring everything they need and make magic happen! They were able to coordinate having family and friends as well as me to do. They are truly a great team and I feel so lucky that they were the ones to do my hair and make-up.

Shana, my stylist from Belle Soeur, was awesome- a miracle-worker! I thought that my thin, damaged hair would never look good for my wedding, but she made it look so beautiful! I brought her pictures of celebrities with styles I liked that I was sure my hair wouldn't be able to do, and she made mine look just like the photos with no problem! It was amazing! I had no idea what I wanted for make up, other than I just wanted a very natural, romantic look, and she did a great job- it was more beautiful than I could have imagined. Shana was very professional and friendly and very easy to work with. The services aren't the cheapest out there (nor the most expensive, for sure), but the extra money was DEFINITELY worth it! I got so many compliments on my hair, and was so happy with it! I felt like a beautiful princess. :)

Alison and her staff are truly wonderful. From start to finish, they put my mind at ease and made me feel beautiful on my wedding day. They were patient with my family and made the entire bridal party look like the best possible versions of themselves. Love, love, LOVE these girls! I worked with Katy and Caitlin for my trial. They listened SO intently to my ideas (bring pictures, but not too many - my first trial was a little crazy from having too MANY ideas!), and truly did exactly what I said and did it well. I ended up doing a second trial because I looked back at pics and decided after the moment died down it wasn't TRULY what I wanted. Katy and Caitlin came back, were so gracious about the whole thing and understanding, and ended up tweaking things to perfection.

On my wedding day, Martha came as a 2nd hair stylist. My bridesmaids were raving about their hair and makeup, and all 5 of them were pleased with the results. One even said usually she HATES getting her hair done for weddings because it ends up looking ridiculous, but she was really pleased with her updo.

A random side note - I was super stressed the day of and had a little trouble getting into the chair to start getting done. They were so patient with me, and cracked silly jokes to keep me laughing and calm. I seriously felt like I could hang out with them all the time. They made everyone (even my nervous Mom) super comfortable and super pretty!!!!!

I don't think I can speak highly enough of the work done by Belle Soeur's stylists Gabriela, Martha and Melanie on my wedding day. It sounds cliche to say "They did my hair exactly how I saw it in my dreams!" but they truly did!

My wedding hair goal was to have hair on my wedding that I couldn't do myself. I wanted someone to look at it and tell that I got my hair done, but not so much so that I had bad prom hair, hairsprayed to death. I also wanted my girls to look good; I felt that if the bridesmaids looked good, they can only make me look better. I'd been a bridesmaid with awful dress, awful hair, and wanted to make sure my girls also looked put together and content with the money they would be spending.

I left looking like a depressed Precious Moments figurine. I had whispy curls framing my face, with my hair pulled into a ponytail and curled. Nothing like what I asked for.

Determined not to settle, I came onto Wedding Wire looking for guidance. Thank the good, sweet Lord that I found these ladies! My 7 bridesmaids looked fantastic, so polished, so put together. The stylists were early, the atmosphere was relaxed and very professional, and they even finished early. I cannot speak highly enough about how attentive they were and responsive they were. I received numerous compliments on my hair and on the bridesmaids, I can't wait to see the photos to see the work up close.

I just got married on November 12th, and I chose Belle Soeur for hair and make-up. Initially, I looked into a few different hair and make-up places, and ended up getting frustrated by how hard it was to get in touch with them. When I found Belle online, I was really impressed by their awesome website and reasonable prices. I contacted them for more information, and Alison got back to me immediately by e-mail. I was very appreciative! We then set up a phone consultation. During the consultation, I e-mailed Alison photos of hair and make-up ideas and we discussed them. Alison was very easy to talk to and professional. I felt comfortable talking to her right away. Then, I set up a trial appointment. Belle came right to my apartment, which made it very convenient! Alison did my hair and she is just simply awesome. I had three bridesmaids with me. Alison joined in our conversation and fit right in. Katy did my make-up and she was awesome, too. She was very personable and I really liked how my make-up turned out. On the wedding day, I had seven bridesmaids, myself, and a flower girl who were all getting services. We ended up having 2 stylists and 1 make-up artist - Alison, Melanie, and Katy. They were all great!! They arrived at 9am and were able to finish on time (around noon). All of my bridesmaids and my flowergirl looked fabulous, and Alison did an even better job with my hair than she did at the trial (I LOVED IT SO MUCH!). Overall, I highly recommend Belle Soeur and Alison, Katy, and Melanie specifically :-) They truly helped to make my wedding day even more special :-)

Gabby did my hair and make-up and did a fabulous job. I had a trial which was helpful to figure out which style I wanted and she was able to recreate the look exactly on my wedding day. I would highly recommend Gabby and Belle Soeur to anyone!

I couldn't have been happier with EVERYONE at Belle Soeur. As soon as I met Alison, I knew I wanted her team to do my hair on my wedding day. I had 9 (gasp) bridesmaids, myself, my mom, my mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, my step-mom and step-aunt. That's a lot of hair and make up!! We somehow finished early and everyone's hair and make up looked perfect.

Not only did they all do a great job, there were special little touches that just made everything perfect. The specialized napkins and fruit were nice little surprises on the day of.

BELLE SOEUR IS AMAZING! The two women who helped me on my big day (LaTia for make-up and Gabby for hair) were everything I could have asked for - professional, extremely talented, sensitive to our requests and needs, and also very fun to be around. If I could do it all over again, they were absolutely worth the price.

They did the hair and make-up for my mother, mother-in-law, myself and all but one of my bridesmaids. On the day of the wedding, Gabby had a little extra time and did the last bridesmaid's hair for free just to be nice. That was so sweet of her.

During the time leading up to the wedding, Alison was the contact person, and was so helpful in answering all of my questions. She called to speak with me about all of the details, and was always quick to answer my frantic bride questions via e-mail.

I can't say enough good things about Belle Soeur! I loved that they first did a phone consultation with me to find out exactly what I was looking for. Alison and her assistant Katy were super responsive to all my emails, and also so helpful and friendly! I had Gabriela as my stylist and she was right on time for both my trial (which they came to my hotel to do, so convenient!!!) and on the day of my wedding (also came to my hotel!) and so wonderful to work with. Gabriela made my hair look even better than I had imagined it and she did such a wonderful job on all my bridesmaids. We were all so happy! I also loved their display - they brought a cute flower vase, champagne glasses and sparkling juice. It just made may day extra special! If you're getting married in the Baltimore/Annapolis area, you need to go with Belle Soeur! They are seriously the best at what they do!

I can't express how great my experience with everyone at Belle Soeur was. I have never particularly liked a formal updo that I have gotten, so I was extremely nervous. Martha came to my house and on the first try I was sold...it was so beautiful! Alison and Katy were both really responsive and extremely helpful to everything I has asked or needed. Alison even went above and beyond and stayed the entire day doing last minute touch-ups. They were so flexible and accommodating. Everyone at the wedding had nice things to say about everyone's hair the girls at Belle Soeur did. I would recommend them to anyone, by far the best undo I have ever had (and I am really picky!!)

Alison and her team at Belle Soeur styles are simply fantastic. I actually had a really hard time choosing a hair/makeup team for my wedding. It’s such a big decision! But, after a conversation with Alison over the phone, I knew she was “the one.” To put it simply, Alison’s number one priority, is customer satisfaction and happiness, and she goes to great lengths to ensure that the bride (and company) feel beautiful. When she told me that there was no time limit on the trial--that they stay until I’m happy—I was sold. She has hand selected a fantastic team of makeup and hair artists and they come directly to your home to make you beautiful for your big day. I cannot express how patient and helpful the girls are. They are not only extremely talented, but also they truly want to make you happy and feel relaxed. Further, if you ask for a tweak or change in your makeup or hair, they are so understanding! I hired Belle Soeur for wedding hair & makeup for myself, bridesmaids, and mothers and was very happy with their services. I had a phone conversation with Alison at first and we talked about my overall style and what I was looking for. I am not a big makeup person and had previously had a not-so-great trial experience with another makeup artist that did not listen to what I wanted. I got a very different vibe from Alison and knew that her stylists would do a good job. Alison assigned Melanie and LaTia for my hair and makeup and they came to my apartment for a trial a couple of months before the wedding. They listened to what I wanted and made sure I liked everything before finishing. After I had some second thoughts about my hair, we arranged for a second hair trial to get it exactly right. Alison & co were very flexible with lots of changes to the services my bridesmaids & moms wanted right up to the week of the wedding. Alison joined the other two girls the day of to ensure we could get everyone done in the time we had. All the women ended up looking beautiful and were happy with how they looked. I would definitely recommend Belle Soeur, especially to any brides who want to look natural looking and not heavily made-up.

I would absolutely recommend Belle Soeur. It was totally relaxing having them come to our hotel on the day of the wedding, and not be schleping around to salons! None of this wake up at the crack of dawn to get to the salon stuff, we ordered a room service brunch, drank some champagne, and enjoyed our primping! Allison was my main contact for setting up the trial, and the schedule for the wedding day, and was professional and easy to get in touch with. Caitlin did our hair, and Katie our make-up, and both did a great job, and were fun to chat with. I woke up the morning of the wedding with a HUGE zit (seriously?!), and Katie recommended switching to airbrushed make up, and made that thing disappear, which was really quite a feat! My hair was lovely, it felt like me, but fancier, and exactly what I wanted!

My friend used Belle Soeur for her wedding and they did a great job. Very nice staff who had suggestions for how to do our hair and makeup. For my wedding I also opted to go with their services and the staff I worked with were also great. They were fun yet professional and extremely competent. The girls were helpful during the trial which made the day of stress free. They were responsive to emails throughout the process and prompt for both the trial and on the wedding day. They come to you which was also very nice--we didn't have to worry about early salon appointments or traveling between locations on the wedding day. All in all a great experience.

I booked Belle Soeur for hair and make up for my mom, my maid of honor, and myself and everyone was extremely satisfied. Their pricing was the best I could find and it was helpful to be able to build your own packages of what you needed. From the moment you contact them, there is nothing but professionalism and there is never a question that is left unanswered. Alison Souza, the head coordinator always answered my emails promptly, always with open and friendly communication. She was able to know what I was looking for and was able to meet our needs and exceed them.

What attracted me to Belle Soeur was that booking with them, they come to you; work with you for as long as needed to make sure you are happy with your choices. They want to make sure that you will be happy on your wedding day and the trial gives you the chance to do that. For my wedding, we were getting ready at a hotel close to the venue and they traveled there and provided us with fizzy drinks, strawberries, and magazines. I had heard stories about how long it takes to get ready, and how much you have to do but getting ready on the morning of the wedding ended up being one of the most relaxing parts of the day. I started the day with breakfast and then just relaxed while getting ready. I loved Caitlin, Martha and Melanie! They were fantastic, on top of everything and kept the room relaxed and in good conversation. I cannot say enough about Caitlin who did my hair and Martha who did my make up, it was beyond my expectations and I felt amazing. I didn't have to worry the entire night through pictures, and dancing, because at the end of the night I still looked just as I did when Belle Soeur first did my hair and make up! To Allison, Caitlin, Martha and Melanie, thank you so much, I really can't say enough on how fantastic you are and how happy we were with you!

Love these girls! My bridal party and I had so much fun on the day of my wedding spending time getting ready with the Belle Soeur team (Katy, Caitlin, Melanie, and "the other Caitlin")! Specifically, Katy and Caitlin assisted with ensuring I was beautiful on my big day! They are so much fun and make you feel so comfortable. From the moment I spoke with Alison (who is also fabulous) on the phone, I knew I had to secure their services for my wedding day! I recall not having any clue what I wanted to do with my hair when I met with them for the pre-trial and within 20 minutes after describing what I was thinking of, which was probably thoroughly confusing for Caitlin based on my description, she figured out what I was thinking of and applied it to my hair and it turned out perfectly! The make-up done by Katy was awesome as well! It looks so good in all of the wedding pictures! I couldn't believe that I had individual eyelashes/liner put on around 2 pm that day with the ceremony at 6 pm and the reception to follow and at 3 am, they were still on and looked just as fabulous as they did at 2 pm! My bridal party consisted of 6 bridesmaids and a flower girl in addition to myself and they arrived on time around 12:30 am to get set up and finished everyone completely (most had hair and make-up done) by 3:30 pm in time for pictures, etc. beginning at 4 pm. I found their pricing to be a little below average for the area, which was great. However, what really distinguishes this business is their high level of professionalism and customer service. Alison Souza, the head coordinator, always answered my e-mails within an hour or two of receiving them -- one of the few vendors to provide such prompt and friendly communication. Additionally, on the day of my wedding, Alison went the extra mile and actually dropped by to say hello and to make sure everything was going smoothly.

If you schedule a hair/makeup trial with them, Belle Soeur stylists will come to your house and stay as long as necessary to ensure that you're happy. Then, on your wedding day, they will travel to your wedding venue and provide you with fizzy drinks, strawberries, and magazines. Getting ready on the morning of the wedding ended up being one of the most relaxing parts of the day. The Belle Soeur girls were laid back, but always on top of things. My hair stylist, Gabby, did an amazing job with my bridal hair based on a few inspiration pictures and Jen, the makeup stylist, was able to do everyone's makeup impeccably and cheerfully, despite the tight schedule and the fact that we were always running a bit behind (through no fault of Belle Soeur, who actually arrived early to ensure that there was enough time to work on everyone). My makeup was exactly what I asked for and stayed on all night. Everyone got compliments on their hair and makeup, and I would definitely recommend Belle Soeur, Alison, Gabby, and Jen!

Belle Souer was absolutely amazing for my wedding on 9/4/2011. Working with Alison (the owner) was super easy, she was very responsive and always available to answer questions. I did my trial with La Tia and Gabby, which was both fantastic. I can't give them enough praise. The day of the wedding, they were on time - even early to get things started to get all my bridesmaids, mother in law and myself ready. It was the hottest ever for an outdoor wedding, since our ceremony was outdoors I was nervous that my hair would frizz or fall flat from the sweat, but neither happened. My hair held up the whole day and got so many compliments. People were stunned with my makeup, my now husband was absolutely jaw-dropped as I walked down the aisle. Thank you so much Belle Soeur!! I would reccomend Belle Soeur to any of my friends. I had a larger bridal party than most and I was so relieved to have found them. They were able to come to my mothers house the morning of my wedding and take care of all 6 of my bridesmaids, my mother, my mother in law, my two sister in laws and my flower girl.

My hair turned out exactly how I wanted it to. It was beautiful. I felt so comfortable talking to Alie about what I wanted. I showed her a few pictures and it was as if she knew exactly what I was trying to say. All three of the women who showed up were very professional and experienced.

Belle Soeur is awesome! From the phone consultation, trial, wedding day, and everything in between- they were talented, personable, and professional. I loved my hair (Alison) and makeup (Latia), as did my bridal party. Even though we are sisters, we have very different hair and skin types, and Alison and Latia worked their magic so we each had a look that suited us perfectly. Wouldn't change a thing, and I HIGHLY recommend them!

Belle Soeur was incredible! I was very daunted by all the hair and makeup options available in the DC area and a friend recommended Belle Soeur to me. From my first contact with them I was SO impressed. Alison was so flexible, comforting and professional answering my multitude of questions. Our phone interview was so thorough and when I hung up, I felt like Alison really understood what I wanted and didn't want. The in home trial was perfect. It was so relaxing to be able to stay at home and have the girls come to me. Caitlin and Jen are an incredible team. They are fun to be around and relaxing under the most stressful of days. The team of stylists that worked with us were great! On the day of the trial they worked with me for several hours until I was completley satisfied with my look. And on the wedding it was replicated perfectly! It was amazing to have them travel to my home for the trial and the hotel for the day of services. It took a lot of stress out of the day to have them come to us.

Most importantly, these ladies listened and gave me exactly the look I wanted for my big day. Melanie and LaTia were our stylists for myself, five bridesmaids and my mom. They showed up right on time, were very professional and calming yet fun to be around. They kept us to our schedule and everyone was very happy with the finished product! All the ladies looked gorgeous. Special kudos for staying power too. It was over 100 degrees the day of the wedding. Despite an hour of pictures outside everyone still looked fabulous well into the night.

I loved working with this vendor. I was originally directed to them by another vendor whom I contacted but wasn't available for my date. I liked the website immediately because of the images of the modern, classy, and most importantly- not overdone brides. From the first consultation with Allison I was impressed with her professionalism, wonderful personality, and reasonable prices. Belle Soeur differed from other places I got quotes from because they let you chose a la carte instead of having a minimum amount of people have a certain amount of services. This was great because different individuals in my party had different budgets. My trial occurred in my own home which was so convenient. The artists were on time then and on the actual wedding day. They were so friendly and nice and Marta especially went above and beyond when she helped me fix (sew) my bird cage veil. On the wedding day they arrived with robes, strawberries and beverages. Everyone in my bridal party was happy with their looks and all the styles stayed all night even though it was July in DC and we danced a lot. I can't say enough about this wonderful company !

Alison started this company with the philosophy of 'getting right' what other stylists get wrong. Wow, it worked.

For example, when I was scouting my stylist and scheduling my trials, the 'big companies' with hundreds of reviews only blocked off an hour for a hair and makeup trial. No flexibility-- Their office hours only. They sat me in a salon chair while about 4 other girls were getting trials at the same time, and the trial style looked exactly how I told them I didn't want it to look. It had a very fast-food, take-a-number feel to it and was not relaxing at all. It wasn't even fun.

Belle Soeur blocked off 4 hours just for hair. We e-mailed pictures back and forth before the trial (my wedding was semi-destination-- about 4 hours up the road) to get an idea of what I was looking for. The stylist came to my hotel for the trial. For the first hour- we just talked. She wanted to get to know me. We looked at some pictures then tried a few different styles-- taking pictures along the way so she would be able to reference them when re-creating the style for my wedding.

On my wedding day, I expected 3 stylists to show up. They showed up with 4.

They are friendly, incredibly flexible, and very good at what they do. They aren't a big company with a home office, etc. but that is a good thing. You aren't just a number to them. They pick up the phone when you call, and answer your e-mails quickly. Usually within minutes, but definitely the same day you send them.

And their prices are a lot less-- sometimes by half-- than the other stylists I looked at.

I could go on and on and on.
Bottom line-- don't make the mistake of NOT checking out this fantastic company.

Alison Souza, who handles all of the logistical things, was SO easy to get in touch with both over the phone and via email! She spent a long time listening to me describe my style and helping me choose a look that would fit me on my wedding day.

All of my girls got their hair and makeup done as well and were all very pleased with how it turned out! The women who came to do our hair and makeup were incredibly prompt and professional! Time is always an issue on the day of your wedding, but rest assured that Belle Soeur will not hold you back! I was so happy we were finished and ready for pictures on time!

A word of advice for future brides: My bridesmaids and I found it helpful to bring in pictures of styles we liked and to try to be as specific as possible in describing what we wanted. Having said that, however, keep in mind that a certain style may look different on you than in the picture... it's just about finding the right blend :)

Belle Soeur Styles did our make-up for our July 9th wedding and we loved it! Everything went very smoothly and I felt like they really listened to what we wanted. I loved that we could start with a phone consultation to make sure they would be the right fit without having to go anywhere.
Out stylist was Katy and she was great! She came out to my house for the trial, which was much appreciated with all of the running around Brides have to do in those last few months. Katy explained everything before she did it and after each step of the make-up she let me look at it which was really nice because I could pinpoint what I liked or what I wanted changed.
On the day of the wedding Katy was very professional, arriving early to set-up and make sure she was ready for us. It was a nice surprise to have snacks and robes waiting for us from Belle Soeur. I was also given a little bag so that I could touch up the make-up throughout the night. We got married outside in July and I was so impressed that my make-up lasted all night. Thank you to Alison, Katy and the rest of the Belle Soeur team.

The ladies at Belle Soeur are fantastic. I was able to schedule my trial makeup session well before my wedding, and they were very flexible on my big day. Even though I had a lot of makeup on, it looked so natural, as if I had hardly any on at all. The same went for my bridesmaids, too. Alison and Jen are so wonderful. You simply cannot beat the prices for an on-site, high quality service.

WOW! I owe a lot to Alison. Thank you for all of your hard work. I used Belle Soeur Styles after looking them up on wedding wire and other web sites. They had the best price for what I was looking for. I got my trial done and was not happy with it at all. I talked to Alison and she set up another trial for me for free. I again was not happy. I thought that I was never going to like my hair and didn't know what I was going to do. I was upset feeling that it was my fault and I wanted something that was not atainable. Alison was right there to help me out through it all. At my last trial Alison came herself and did exactly what I wanted! (Half up, half down and curly....not a crazy request. I do have very straight hair which is hard to keep the curls but Alison was on top of it with an idea to keep my hair curly and it worked!!) I was so happy with what she did. Alison truly went above and beyond. The night before my wedding she came and set my hair to make sure it would be ready for the wedding. Alison and Jen came on time the day of and made us all more beautiful!! Jen did makeup and we all loved it. She really did a fantastic job. ( I had a trial with her and was happy from the start.) I really liked the fact that Belle Soeur came to me for everything. I work shift-work and it is hard to get to places when you have a weird schedule. Alison and her team worked with me. Alison was very responsive and I felt that I had an extra friend to count on during the stressful time. Thanks again Alison!

I had a great experience with Belle Soeur. I was looking for hair and makeup from the same vendor that would travel to me. I met Alison for an initial consultation to discuss what I was looking for. She was very organized and easy to work with-always super responsive and accurate. I loved how they handled the invoicing and they were flexible with mine since I split the cost in various ways to pay for some portion of my girl's services.

The trial went great, the staff worked with me until I was happy with the hair and makeup and were patient and easy to talk to. They were on time for all appointments and worked quickly while still doing great quality work. They showed up right on time the day of-I never had to worry about the staff being late which is a huge plus when you're worried about so many other things the day of your wedding. My hair and makeup held up all day/night and my girls looked amazing-working with Belle Soeur was a great decision for me. Would definitely recommend!

The day of the wedding, the staff was there and set up in plenty of time. They did beautiful and creative up do's, a partial up do and hair curled and left down. All the styles were beyond description. The makeup was elegant and photographed beautifully.

Having the hair and makeup come to us was so relaxing. On our big day, we were able to relax, socialize, eat breakfast together, etc. all while getting our hair and makeup done. I'm so glad that we hired Belle Soeur instead of going to a salon. The experience wouldn't have been the same.

THE TRIAL. I scheduled a trial with Alison and she matched me up with Martha. Martha came to my apartment in DC to do my trial, which was so nice of her to do so. She was sweet and did an amazing job!

WEDDING DAY. I had worked with Alison in advance to create a schedule of each girl getting hair or makeup or both, and it came in handy to make sure things went smoothly. Alison and Martha were on time (in fact a little early), and they didn't waste any time getting set up and started. Since Martha had done my trial she worked mostly on me, and did my mother's hair & makeup. Alison was a pro flying through my 4 bridesmaids, junior bridesmaid, two grandmothers, and mother of the groom.

I got a very detailed up-do and airbrush makeup. The airbrush makeup was new to me. It looked great, but I was in a wedding a few weeks later and got regular makeup, and I'd probably save the extra bucks and go with the regular in the future. They both looked good and neither lasted longer than the other. I might even say I looked just a hair paler with the airbrush.

My hairstyle was slightly different than how it looked after my trial, because Martha and I did not have the picture we took. I was still very happy with how I looked, but I advise confirming that you or your stylist is bringing the photo for reference. The BM's got beautiful up-dos that were subtlely different from each other and paired very well with my hairstyle and their dresses. My junior BM got a side pony with curls. It was age appropriate and still looked great with the other do's. The grandmothers had very short hair, but Alison did a good job making sure they looked done up and were happy. The mothers got blowouts. My mom did regret not getting a formal up-do after seeing photos (but I thought she looked Fab).

Conversation was great, the ladies worked quickly, and we LOVED our hair and makeup.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Belle Soeur! From the moment I met with Alison for my consultation, to the wedding day, these ladies were nothing but professional, responsive, and wonderful! I got many compliments from wedding guests on how awesome the hair and makeup looked on me and my bridesmaids. Our hair stylist was Stephanie and she is SO talented - my 4 bridesmaids showed her pictures of what they wanted on the wedding day and she recreated everything perfectly! Belle Soeur Styles was a complete dream come true! From the initial phone consultation with Alison to the day of preparations, I would book her team again in a heart beat. Alison was the easiest person to work with the get the contract worked up. She was always very responsive with any questions I had about my wedding day. She helped to figure out when and how many stylists were going to be needed and was on top of getting everything together.

I had 2 hair stylists and 1 make-up artist for the morning before my wedding. All 3 of them showed up exactly on time with everything that they needed, including awesome personalities that helped keep the morning calm and flowing. Stephanie was my personal stylists who came to my house before the wedding to have a trial style figured out before the big day. I told her what I was looking for and she knew exactly how I would like my hair. When the big day came she knew exactly what to do and it turned out perfect.

They all made everyone look amazing and in the time frame we had set out. I couldnt have asked for a better group of ladies to have worked with.

As a 50-something bride, I was a little late getting started with wedding planning. (Trust me, weddings have gotten much more complex in the last 30 years!) Alison and Belle Soeur fit me in and had everything under control very quickly. this was made much more complex by the fact that I live 1000 miles away from the wedding venue and had very little time in the area before the wedding.
On the wedding day, my sisters and future daughters-in-law joined me for the hair and makeup session and all were very pleased with the results. Gabby and her team of professionals set up in a very small hotel space and made everyone beautiful in just a few hours. Especially impressive was that each person wanted something totally different - and all were happy!

I had gotten quotes from a LOT of hairstylists and makeup artists in the DC area - and so many of them were VERY high priced. I finally found Alison and Belle Souer who I thought were reasonably priced- and the pictures on their website looked like the style I was going for. I wanted to look like "me but prettier" on my wedding day - nothing too over the top for hair or makeup, but glam me up a bit. I also was really excited to try the airbrush makeup because I had heard such good things about it.

Katy and Caitlyn (whose names I am probably spelling wrong - sorry ladies!) came to do my trial hair and makeup. They are such fun sweet girls! After each was done, they worked with me to make all the little tweaks I wanted to get the look just right - like a little more blush, a little darker lip color, a little softer on the hair style, a little shorter on the fake eyelashes, etc. It was great - they were happy to accomodate the changes and I got exactly the look I wanted!

On the day of the wedding they were there exactly on time and ready to get to work! The three of them did my Mom, mine, and two bridesmaids hair and makeup and were done on time in the 3 hours. That said - one of my bridesmaids added makeup at the last minute (after seeing how great the airbrush makeup looked on us!) and they graciously were able to add her in and still be done on time.

The day of the wedding was pretty stress free - I wanted a few tweaks to my hair, which they fixed no problem, and it looked perfect - me but prettier, as well as the makeiup which looked natural, but gorgeous. My bridesmaids loved their looks, as did my Mom (who was VERY specific about what she didn't like :-)!

One of the other things I liked was the attention they paid to being very sanitary - they didn't apply makeup to me straight from the compact or the tube, she put it on a a little glass mirror, and used a new brush for everything, even for mascara.

I never had a problem getting in touch with Alison to coordinate scheduling the trial, the day of, payment, or anything. She was always very responsive.

These girls did an AMAZING job on our hair and makeup for my wedding day. I got lots of compliments on my hair. Alison was super nice and everyone was very easy to work with. I was very, very pleased with Belle Soeur Styles. They were responsive, professional, and super friendly. They did my (the bride) makeup, as well as two of the bridesmaids. All three of us were quite impressed. I have had my makeup done professionaly in the past, and those experiences had left me a little wary (the makeup was too clownish for me). However, I was more than happy with how Belle Soeur did my makeup (which is great as it was my wedding day!). The look was soft and romantic, and not a bit clownish. Also, after every step (eyes, cheeks, lips, etc), they stop to ask if you like it, and are more than willing to make any changes.

Besides the exceptional makeup service provided, I also find them extremely easy to work with. We were late on the day of the wedding in meeting them, and they were very nice about having to wait so long (sorry!). Before the wedding, they were also extremely easy to work with, which was nice as we were working on a compressed timeline.

Thanks to Belle Soeur, I LOVED the way I looked on my wedding day. I felt confident and beautiful. People who knew me were kind of taken aback, and the word "radiant" got used a lot. The pictures all turned out amazing: I have perfect skin in all of them, even after dancing (definitely not usual for me). Katy and Gabriella were lovely to work with and really listened to what I wanted; Gabriella actually re-did my hair trial to make sure I was happy, and then remembered what I liked for my wedding day. My Mom and bridesmaids all got "done" too, and looked great even without the benefit of a trial; my Mom, in particular, looks amazing in the photos. I was really impressed that Katy could do appropriate makeup for such a broad range of ages and complexions. I liked that everyone at Belle Soeur understood and expected that we would want neutral tones, rather than the "New Years Eve" makeup that you see on some websites.

I was a little hesitant to book hair and makeup professionals because it seemed like a luxury item; Belle Soeur is reasonably priced compared to the competition, but was still outside my tiny budget. I am so glad I decided to do it! Alison is very frank and open about cost, and the pricing plan makes a lot of sense. Jackpot! Seriously, I found them at last resort (go figure!) and couldn't be happier. They're the only ones willing to work with my because my wedding was on a Monday & I didn't have a big wedding party. Everyone else said, "No." Best thing to happen to me! I searched for several options when looking for a hair/make-up team for my wedding (in Baltimore, MD). At first I was thinking the best option would be to go to a local salon, but I am really glad I decided to go with Belle Soeur Styles. Allison and Katy came to my hotel suite and just made it so much more fun (& easy) to get everyone's hair and make-up done. It was great that they were able to provide BOTH hair & make-up as well - one less thing to worry about!

Belle Soeur Styles did both the hair and make up on my big day for myself, all 6 of my bridesmaids, and my mom. They are amazing! Everyone looked beautiful and we had a really fun day together. I couldn't be more pleased with Belle Soeur. Just before my wedding, I had a trial run with a different makeup group and ended up very disappointed -- and suddenly found myself without someone to do my makeup on my wedding day. Luckily for me, Alison quickly met with me in person and scheduled a trial run with the amazing Josephine, who was a perfect match for my unique needs (retro makeup and hair, which takes a lot of training and expertise -- which Josephine most certainly has). The day of the wedding, Josephine and Caitlin worked wonders on us, and it was just so relaxing and calming to be in their presence; they have such warm personalities. Oh, and Alison is the only vendor I used who cared enough to follow up with me afterward. She was the most responsive vendor I worked with as well -- she always got right back to me when I had a question. The women I met at Belle Soeur were perfectly professional, delivered excellent quality services, and were just all-around sweet, wonderful people. I am the kind of person that hardly, if ever wears makeup so when I decided to get mine done along with my hairdo for my wedding I was a bit nervous. Alison arranged for me to meet with Caitlin for my trial and it was a great afternoon. She took her time to make sure I liked what she was doing every step of the way and recorded what she used that we liked so that for our wedding day she would have all she needed. The morning of our wedding I got a migraine. I was in so much pain I didn't think I could endure my pampering. Caitlin was so sweet and offered to do my makeup while I was laying down so that I could rest my head more. She worked around me and in the end, with plenty of time to spare, she managed to help me feel relaxed and look like a million dollars! My wedding hair plans fell through 3 weeks before my wedding, and I was a mess! I got in touch with Allison and we had an appointment set up for within the week. She came all the way out to Carroll County (which is not right around the corner) and spent a few hours making sure that she knew exactly what I wanted for my wedding and styling and restyling my hair until we both knew it was the one. The day of, she was at my house at 5:30 am to do 6 hairstyles for my morning wedding- and she did a great job! By the time we were finished working together, I felt like we were old friends- she's so easy to work with. She is professional, personable, and flexible, and came in and saved the day when I needed it! I highly reccomend this service to brides and future brides.

I was married in May at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. My husband became unexpectedly deployed and we planned the wedding in a month, so things were a little crazy to say the least. Alison was understanding to the situation, flexible, professional, and most of all, helped me to feel relaxed and less stressed about last minute planning. She squeezed me in on a day when she already had 2 other weddings booked, even though we needed to begin at 6 am! They were on-time and professional while still creating a relaxed enviroment. I was a little nervous because my normal hair dresser doesn't do updo's so I had to branch out, but Alison was great. We met for a trial run and once I saw that she knew what she was doing I relaxed. One of my bridesmaids has some skin issues, and katy was able to make her skin look so even. I am so thankful to have run into this company.

This whole company is amazing. Aside from the reviews, the thing that prompted me to hire than was that they don't charge different prices just for the bride...hair is hair and makeup is makeup, and they get that. It was good value when I hired them, and turned out it was GREAT value for their skills and professionalism. They were flexible and responsive (as in, responding to emails within mere hours) with every request I made, from scheduling the trial around my demanding work schedule to a last-minute addition to our schedule. Melanie and Gabby did our hair and makeup for a group of girls ranging from 8 to 94, and they did an amazing job on everyone. They made the environment so relaxed and were great company! I almost didn't want them to leave. But of course Hurricane Irene was on her way, and even though they didn't seem at all concerned about the weather, we wanted to make sure they could get home safely. I'm keeping their number in my phone on the off-chance I ever have another occasion to require on-site hair and makeup.

I have never felt and looked as good as I did on my wedding day. I don't know how, but somehow Martha made me look even better than I did at the trial. I got so many compliments, especially on my hair. No one could believe how good it looked or how it stayed up all night long. You spend a lot of time with hair and make-up artists on your wedding day, and I can't picture anyone more relaxing and calm to be with than Martha and Katy. Thanks girls!!

I couldn’t have been more fortunate with the crew they sent. They were all so nice. Alison who coordinated everything was great. She kept me informed every step of the way and would send helpful tips for the trial and the day of. We had 4 lovely ladies come help out to do hair and make-up for nine ladies. They got there on time and were finished in time. The trial was so much fun and Gaby and Katy who did my hair and make up took notes and were so pleasant and excited to do the work. I was pleased after the trial and was even more pleased the day of my wedding. They did exactly what they said they would do. Some of my girls wanted to get out of doing their make-up but because of the contract they couldn’t. Which is understandable and they understood. My suggestion would be to not book the make-up or service until you are absolutely sure. They can always add on and adjust to your needs a few weeks before the wedding but you just can’t take away. They brought magazines so while the other girls were waiting they could be entertained reading. They provided the bride with a touch-up kit which I decided I wanted to offer the bridesmaids as well as a thank you. Alison was quick to accommodate that decision and I thought it was at a reasonable and honest price. I can’t remember one of the hairstylist names but I give her kudos she had to do a three year olds hair, which was a bit grumpy to say the least. She was so patient and the end result was so great. She accomplished a lovely bun on the flower girl. We couldn’t believe she accomplished such a challenge. They have such a patient and kind crew. I put the ultimate test to my hair and make-up, after the ceremony that took place under light rain outdoors, the reception, the after party I decided to trash my dress and jumped into a swimming pool. I couldn’t believe it, I came prepared to touch up my make –up and redo my hair completely but I pretty much didn’t have to do neither. My make-up pretty much stayed in tack. All I had to do was touch up my eyeliner and as for the hair all I had to do was dry the ends my hair stayed in tacked. Thank you so much to the skills of Katy and Gaby. Caitlin and Melanie worked on my Mom and the bridesmaids and all their hair turned out great. Can't thank you all enough for such a wonderful job and experience.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Alison, Katy, and Caitlin. My husband and I were suppose to get married in South Carolina on August 28th, but due to hurricane Irene we had to plan a new wedding in Maryland in less than four days. It was important to me to find a company who could successfully do hair and makeup for my bridesmaids and I. After all, having beautiful pictures is really all you have to look back on. I emailed a couple of companies but chose to go with Belle Soeur because I appreciated Alison's urgency to get back in touch with me and her obvious sympathy for the situation we were in. Alison sqeezed us into their already packed day and was even kind enough to waive the short notice fee. Katy and Caitlin arrived early and ready to please. They were even patient with my puppy who loves to jump on new house guests. These ladies were so fun to talk to and did an amazing job on everyone's hair and make up. Katy and Caitlin are the best. I teared up when I saw everyone's hair; especially my own. It was even better than I dreamed of. I almost want to find another reason to get my hair and make up done just so I can hire Belle Soeur Styles again. I would highly recommend these lovely ladies. They are super fun and highly professional.

I cannot describe how fun it was to have Josephine (the Belle Soeur stylist who worked on me) do my hair and makeup on my wedding day. I looked AMAZING. Plus, Josephine helped to relax me when my nerves got the best of me for a while. She cracked some jokes and told some funny stories. She is a SWEETHEART and I loved her work and my overall experience with Belle Soeur.

The Coordinator and owner, Alison was very helpful during my consultation in picking the right stylist for me. In fact I almost found it weird how well Josephine 'knew' me and what I wanted even though she had just met me at the trial. The ease of having a stylist come to you on your wedding day tops what any snooty salon can do. Plus they do AMAZING work and help keep you laughing. Real artists here. It was so great to have a vendor come to us on the morning of the wedding. Everyone loved their hairstyles and make-up. Belle Soeur sent just the right number of people to make sure everything was done in the time window allotted. Alison was always incredibly fast in her responses. Great vendor to work with!

I absolutely LOVED my wedding hair and makeup! I wasn't 100% satisfied after my trial, but that's what trials are for- we took notes on what I wanted to change, and on the day of my wedding, it was EXACTLY how I wanted it! I usually don't like having photos taken, but I can't stop looking at the photos because I looked so good (not bragging, just complimenting my hair and makeup artists.) The artists were very friendly and the services were very affordable for me and my bridesmaids. I like that they don't charge more for the bride- makeup is makeup and hair is hair. Would highly recommend Belle Soeur to anyone else. Might even find an excuse to use them again myself!

I loved working with Belle Soeur! I had an initial conversation with Allison and she was so great - open to hear what I wanted and full of great suggestions at the same time. I did not want to be overdone at all and was very keen to have a natural look. I had a trial with a lovely and professional artist, but after it was over, I realized it had not really captured what I was looking for. I called Allison and she immediately understood and sent me two new artists who totally made me look and feel how I wanted to on my wedding day - natural, but stunning (Jen for makeup and Martha for hair). And the day of the wedding, they came out to my hotel and were fun and sweet and helped me relax on the big day. They also did my mother, mother-in-law and 2 bridesmaids and everyone was very happy with the results!

This company was amazing. They where flexible, professional and a pleasure to be around. Their work lasted my entire wedding both make-up and hair. I will recommend them to anyone in the area!

The ladies of Belle Soeur Styles are wonderful at what they do! They were very professional and friendly. They also showed up on time at my house for the makeup and hair trial, and stayed until I was happy with everything. On the day of my wedding they also were on time and all the bridemaids and myself had our hair and makeup complete by the time I had requested. Which allowed even more time for pictures with the ladies with my photographer. Also by the end of the night, my hair and makeup still looked like it had just been done, despite getting rained on and dancing the night away! Thank you Ladies!

I booked Belle Soeur Styles to do hair and makeup for myself, 3 bridesmaids and makeup for my mom. They came on time to setup and got us all done within the timeframe we had established. Our stylists were Latia, Stephanie, Martha and Katy. Stephanie did an incredible job with my hair and I was very satisifed with the airbrush make-up Latia did. All the girls were especially satisfied with their updos and we got a lot of positive comments on all of our hair. Alison was very professional in booking everything and was always on top of confirmations and any other questions that I had. I was very happy overall with Allison and her staff. My hair and makeup and the hair of my "entourage" looked fantastic on the big day. I also like how they come to your location - even your apartment - for the trial and the actual event. Allison is VERY responsive and flexible - she goes out of her way to make sure you are happy. For example, after the trial, she calls right away to see if you are satisfied with what her girls did. The only snafu on our day was that at the last minute one of the girls couldn't come - so we were down 1 hair person, and we got kinda behind schedule. I would have thought they would try to find a replacement but I guess they couldn't last minute. Nonetheless, the 2 girls that did come worked SUPER hard to do their best being short someone, and we all did get done in time for the wedding, we just had to do a couple pictures later on instead of before the ceremony - no biggie! I definitely recommend working with Bell Souer.

Allison was wonderful to work with. It really helped to do a trail hair and makeup session before the wedding. Allison and her team were always punctual.

On the day of the wedding, it was so nice to have Allison, Katy & Caitlin bring their bubbly personalities that matched the sparkling pomegranite juice in champagne flutes they brought for us. They were very patient and flexible with me and my three bridesmaids. I definitely recommend air brush make up to anyone who is a person of color. It was much easier to match skin tone with this application process. These ladies were

I hired Bell Soeur on the recommendation of my MOH. My original beauticians fell through 2 weeks before my wedding. It was a nightmare. I called Belle Soeur to arrange my trial hair and makeup, plus makeup for my sister and mother. They were easily to work with and flexible. I got my trial hair and makeup completed the day before my wedding and it went REALLY well. I loved my stylist Martina. She met me in my hotel and brought everything she could possibly need with her. It was the day before my wedding which was insanely hectic, and she was totally cool with me accepting texts and phone calls. So professional and understood how stressful weddings could be before I even did. Also, considering that they come to you to do everything, it was a good value. I was initially going to a salon which was inconvenient, and also way more expensive. They also don’t charge extra for airbrushing which is unheard of. I highly recommend Belle Soeur.

We contracted Belle Soeur for bridal makeup and hair and makeup for bridesmaids. Allison was fabulous to work with and we loved LaTia, who did our makeup. Their artists definitely work with you to make sure that you have the look you want. We looked gorgeous and had a blast!

I had a really good experience with Belle Soeur! They were able to find time for my trials that fit my schedule, meaning coming over at 7pm in a sketchy baltimore neighborhood and doing my hair and makeup until 10pm. I decided on a hairstyle that night, but then changed my mind and wanted to see different styles, so we had another hair trial at no charge! They we able to come to my hotel at 6:30AM in the morning the day of the wedding to do everyone's hair (me, mom, moh, and 3 bridesmaids) and my makeup. The experience was great...we all sat back and were pampered. They even brought champagne and strawberries, but it was early in the morning, so we didn't try any of it.

The experience itself was great, but I wasn't that happy with my look. First of all, I think I'm very skilled at doing hair and makeup. I actually wanted to do it myself, but my friend told me that I shouldn't worry about doing things myself...that I should be stress free. But at the same time, I'm a control freak, so it probably would have been less stress inducing if I did my own look. The makeup and hair stylists were talented, but like I said, I think I'm skilled, so that I could have done a good job myself and it would have been exactly how I would have wanted it. I will say that airbrush foundation is amazing! It kept my face shine free, (my face is super oily) and flawless. I am glad that I paid for that. If you think you already do a really good job with your own makeup and hair, then you should really just do it yourself. If you are an amateur at makeup and hair, then they are great!! You would be very happy!

Everyone was happy with their hair and make-up. The air brush make-up is great! I got compliments all day long and how gorgeous I looked :) They came early, setup and got to work--and I mean EARLY because I had an 11AM wedding. We finished a half hour earlier than expected.

Throughout the whole process, Alison was very responsive and flexible with all of my changes and additions. I've already recommended her group to one of my friends.

Slight caveat--they were way better at doing my friends' hair than mine or my sister. We're both African American (with relaxed hair) and it didn't hold quite as well and looked frizzy around the edges in the back. Still looked wayyy better than anything I could've done myself though.

The ladies at Belle Souer Style are wonderful. Prior to the wedding, Allison was extremely responsive and wonderful getting back to me and answering all of my questions. Caitlyn & Martha were my artists and were on time and helpful for my trial in figuring out what worked right for me.

The morning of the wedding, everyone was on time and responsive to requests for help. We were very happy with the service overall. The one downside was that time got very close for the makeup and so she did not have time to do the full face of one of my bridesmaids and my mom's make up was a little rushed. She helped with her eyes and lips and did not charge us for it. So, that was nice but it made for a bit of hectic packing/moving at the end.

The end results of the hair and makeup were great! I had them provide hair and makeup on myself, my MOH, and both moms, and everyone loved their work! The stylists were on time for both the trial and wedding day. Having them come to me was a huge bonus!

Alison was amazing to work with and extremely responsive and professional. I loved meeting with her first for an initial consultation before committing to anything---instead of just signing a contract before a trial!

My only complaint---and Alison is aware, that the stylists took an hour longer than anticipated and stated in the contract. Fortunately, I was able to switch some of the pictures around, but it left me stressing towards the end to make sure I wasn't late getting to the ceremony.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Alison and her team. I do recommend them but still want to breakdown my scoring for the above categories.
First and foremost, we requested the following services:
Makeup - 8 people (including bride); False Eyelashes - 4 people (including bride); Hair - 9 people (including bride)

Quality of Service - With a 4.5 clearly I thought they did a very good job, the .5 deduction is a result of the makeup application. During the trial when we discussed false eyelashes, the makeup artist commented that the glue used to apply these eyelashes would hold for almost a week. She quickly applied them for the trial but assured me that on the day of the wedding, much more precision would be used and that the lashes will last much longer. One section of my maid of honor's eyelashes fell off during the ceremony, two hours after application. My eyelashes were hanging by a prayer by the end of the reception. Minimal detail but thought the quality of the makeup product should be noted.

Responsiveness - Alison is on point. Upon first contacting them, Alison replied to my email in 35 MINUTES! I contacted a number of hair and makeup teams prior to Belle Soeur and was averaging 2-3 days response time. Needless to say I knew I had a winner given her attentiveness. She maintained that availability and responsiveness throughout the 4 months between initial contact and wedding date.

Professionalism - Again with a 4.0, I obviously thought they did the majority of things right. Upon arrival on the wedding day, they were extremely prepared and even thought to bring a few nice touches to celebrate the day. My deduction is for time management. With a medium-large size party that we had, Belle Soeur initally brought 3 people with them and then a 4th artist joined later. Of the 4 artists there, only 1 was doing makeup while the other 3 handled hair. Even though we calculated the amount of time needed to service everyone and it was communicated that I would like to be ready with time to spare before the ceremony for pictures and such, we were pretty rushed and ended up being 15 minutes late to the ceremony. Had I not requested spare time for pictures, we could easily have been 45 mintues late to the ceremony. Furthermore, one of my girls actually decided last minute not to have her makeup done so again had that not been the case we would have been even later.

Value for Cost - Great rates. I just thought with as many people as we had requesting services that we should have received even a little group discount.

Flexibility - Superb. Even during the trial, Alison stressed that they would stay until I was 100% happy with the hair and makeup. Furthermore, she was able to navigate through the looks that I supplied and really narrow down to the style that I wanted.

Bottom line: I highly recommend them :) I really did have such a fun, fun, fun time with them. They were warm, friendly and added to the good times that my bridesmaids and I were having getting ready. I wish them all the best!

Allison and her assistant did a wonderful job. They were very patient and continued to work with me until I was completely satisfied. They were very flexible on times for my trial and were willing to come to me. I would defintely recommend them to any bride. A trial is always a good idea for any vendor to make sure you are happy with the quality of work and the way you two work together.

On the wedding day, Jen and Melanie came to do hair and makeup, right on time.
Jen did makeup for me, my mom, and my sister (matron of honor). We all loved our makeup. Definitely spring for the airbrush makeup- it is worth it and lasts all day! Jen is fanatical about keeping brushes sanitary- and we all appreciated it.
Melanie did hair for the 3 of us and 3 other bridesmaids. This is where we had some mixed results. First- Melanie is so sweet and really wanted everyone to be really happy with their hair. She fluffed up my mother in law’s hair at no cost and was just a joy to have around. However, my updo started to fall out about 30 minutes after Belle Soeurs left, before pictures, and before my ceremony. This did not happen during the trial. All night long people were trying to keep my updo up and pinned, but in many of my pictures I have pieces of hair falling down. My mom and sister were also not thrilled with their hair. However, 2 of my bridesmaids (non Asian) had amazing updos that lasted all night.
The truth is that Asian hair can sometimes be more difficult. Belle Soeurs provides a little gift bag to clients- I would suggest adding bobby pins and hairspray to that bag. In general, I would recommend Belle Soeurs just for being an easy and pleasant vendor to work with. But for Asian brides, it may be better to look for a hairstylist with experience with Asian hair.

I really enjoyed the idea of having all someone come to me to do mine, and my bridesmaids hair and makeup before my wedding. A wedding day is stressful enough to then have to worry about going to a salon and making sure that the hair and makeup doesn't get messed up. Our two stylists were wonderful and a lot of fun to share the morning with. My hair and makeup turned out beautiful, and I think everyone else was pleased with theirs as well. Unfortunately, we did have a few miscommunications leading up to the day, which worried me that all wouldn’t turn out well, but thankfully it did. If you sign with Belle Soeur, make sure you understand that you cannot remove services from your contract, only add or exchange. So, therefore go with your minimum, and add your remaining people closer to the wedding. This was frustrating, because as a bride will learn, you need to book vendors far in advance, but usually when booking vendors you have no clue if all bridesmaids/mob/mog are going to want which services if any, BUT you want to make sure you book enough people to come and do the services. Additionally, we had some issues with the deposit, and the wrong address being communicated, so verify where you are sending your contract and deposit! I'm a little on the fence about the pricing. Its reasonable/comparable considering salon prices as a total wedding party (usually salon prices for the Bride are outrageous, and other UpDo's are generally less, where as Belle Soeur is the same pricing for all.) However I ended up paying for all of my bridesmaids because I felt the price was too much for them to pay individually. Overall though, we really enjoyed the day of services, and I would recommend this vendor to others, as long as they stay on top of everything, and follow through.

My initial experience with Belle Soure was fantastic. The girls came to my house and ran their trial on me and I was so pleased. My communications with Alison were great as well - she was very responsive and I was truly happy that I was able to get all of my questions answered. However, I was a bit disappointed that they double-booked on my wedding day - making 2 out of the 4 stylists an hour late to my wedding. I even confirmed about 3 times in order to make sure that we needed to be done by a certain time, and I got my confirmation; this did not happen due to the delayed arrival. This unfortunately cut into my photograph and dancing time. When I raised my concerns with Alison, she was very sympathetic and offered compensation, which I was okay with, however, I can never get back the time that I lost from their delayed arrival. All in all, I think they did a beautiful job on everyone, but would have been happier if they would have been on time.

While I was happy with the hair and make-up services I received, I was extremely disappointed with the professionalism of Belle Soeur. My hair and make-up trial went fine, but it took about 3 hours. So I was very surprised when Alison told me that she would only be sending 1 hair stylist and 1 make-up artist to do 3 hair and 2 make-up services in 2 hours on my wedding day. On the actual wedding day, the hair stylist showed up 30 minutes late and it became very apparent that Alison did not send enough people to do the job. They ended up finsing everything 45 minutes after we were promised they'd be done. This resulted in us being late for the ceremony, and I was too stressed about being late to enjoy my wedding. I wish I could forget how awful that morning was.

In response to Alison:
I also feel the need to speak on my own behalf to attest to the honesty of my review. I am not trying to be argumentative, however the times and information I provided are absolutely correct. It is impossible that Jen arrived at noon, because I myself did not arrive at the house until 12:15. Jen showed up at exactly 12:30 and Gabby didn't show up until 1:00 because she had to fix someone's hair from her previous appointment. Jen can attest that Gabby was late because she had to keep calling Gabby on her cell phone to see where she was. Also, it is impossible that they were packing their car at 2:40 because they were still working when the limo arrived at exactly 3:00. I could see them packing the car as we pulled away in the limo sometime later. Punctuality is very important to me, so being late made me extremely stressed. Again, I mean no disrespect. You were indeed very responsive, and I was happy with the services, but I was disappointed with their punctuality. I am only giving an honest review.

Let me begin by saying that I very much liked how my hair and makeup turned out on my wedding day. Martha did a gorgeous job, and I received many complements throughout the night. However, there are a few things on both the customer service and styling ends of Belle Soeur that they could definitely perform better at; and out of all the several vendors I hired for the day, they were the ones I was least impressed with. In my initial phone conversation with Alison, I informed her that I was interested in hiring her team to do wedding up-dos and makeup for me and my 5 bridesmaids. At the time, I knew all my bridesmaids definitely wanted up-dos, but I wasn’t sure which of them would/would not want makeup services. I asked Alison if I could get back to her with this information, and she said that would be no problem.
Fast forward to a month prior to my wedding. I e-mailed Alison to let her know that 4 out of my 5 bridesmaids were interested in the makeup services, and that also mother-in-law and sister-in-law were also interested in being added on for hair and makeup services. I received an e-mail back from “Katy” saying that was totally fine, and all I would have to do was fill out additional contract sheets and she would make the appropriate modifications. Great, right?
However, shortly after, I received another e-mail from Katy stating that they actually could not accommodate any more people, and that they also could not accommodate makeup services for my bridal party since I did not originally request them (even though Alison led me to believe this would be no problem). This really infuriated me, because I clearly informed them up front that I knew some of my bridal party WOULD want makeup, I just wasn’t exactly positive at the time as to exactly who.
So, if that wasn’t bad enough, I asked if everyone could at least be finished with their hair services by 2:30pm, so that would leave time for photos before my ceremony began at 5. Katy told me that because I had originally listed 4pm as my finish time, there was absolutely nothing they could do to bump that time up. Bottom line: Belle Soeur is not accommodating of any changes you may have – so make sure you have ALL your details set in stone before booking them, because what you initially discuss with Alison is exactly what you get, and nothing more than that.
After Katy/Alison basically had told me there was nothing they could do and even suggested they refunding my deposit (a few weeks before my wedding, mind you), I e-mailed them back and told them OK, fine, but I absolutely must have *everyone’s* hair done by 4:00pm, and not a minute later. They agreed, and again said this would be no problem.
About a week before the wedding, Alison called to tell me that she had “bad news” (as she put it) – they had a makeup cancellation on my date, and because of this, they would now be able to perform makeup services for my group. Well, this was great news for me!
On my actual wedding day, each of the stylists were running late, and none of them even bothered to call to tell me so. Because of this, my bridesmaids were still having their up-dos done at 4:45 – and the ceremony began (venue was 10 minutes away from where we were) at 5pm. We were supposed to be finished by 4PM so that my girls and I could have a few minutes to get professional photos done around my Parents’ home, however, this never happened because the Belle Soeur stylists were running late, and did not seem to quite care that we were on a tight schedule.
All of the bridesmaids really liked their makeup, but they were half and half about how they liked their hair. With the girls who got their hair done last, you could definitely tell the job was rushed and pretty half-done.
While my hair and makeup turned out great and the stylists were sweet and pleasant to work with, I don’t think I would hire them again due to their poor communication, lack of flexibility, and overall tardiness.

I have worked with Belle Soeur Styles multiple times this year and I can't say enough good things about this business! Alison (the coordinator) is professional, creative, and runs an amazing team of stylists. I have learned so much from her business ethic and practices, and it is no wonder that Belle Soeur has prospered. I would highly recommend this business to anyone who needs hair & makeup services for their event! (That is, if I'm not already booked. :)
