If you're thinking about hiring Ben Powell Photography for your wedding or special event, do it! Ben and Taylor served as photographers and videographers at our wedding and I have nothing but amazing things to say about them. The photos were stunning and creative, and the videos blew us and our family and friends away - they obviously put a LOT of hard work into everything and we will treasure it always. In addition, they're really nice to work with, very responsive on email, and their services are well priced. Highly recommend them!

This was hands down one of our favorite vendors that we used for our wedding. Ben did a phenomenal job of capturing all crucial moments from our wedding ceremony and reception, and weaving them into a magically creative 6 minute highlight real. It is definitely worth the money to invest in Ben because he will provide you with a gift you can watch over and over again that is much more telling then a simple photograph.

We loved working with Ben and Taylor. They were really nice from the first meeting and were easy going, so easy to work with during our wedding day/night. The photos turned out gorgeous. The only thing I would have done differently was picked out the location of where we were to take photos with our families. Not having designated that, we ended up in a small conference room that didn't do much for our pictures. So that's just a tip for other brides to think of. In terms of Ben Powell's services, I thought they were really great and very happy that we chose them. We would definitely recommend them to others.

Ben & Taylor are the dream team when it comes to photography!!! They were the absolute picture of professionalism during my wedding: they made both me & my fiance (who are slightly camera-shy), AND my guests feel completely at ease, were very flexible with locations and times, and absolutely creative in the poses and shots that they captured! They were not disruptive to the ceremony or reception at ALL (I barely realized they were there) and all of my guests commented on how impressed they were with their professionalism.

Ben & Taylor have a great eye for lighting, spots for perfect shots, and really tailored my photos to what I wanted for my wedding day. They were constantly in contact with my (now) husband and I prior to the wedding to talk about schedules, picture ideas, and get a general feel of what story we wanted our pictures to tell. They even have a pinterest and facebook account where you can communicate desired photo ideas!

Lastly, these two are just so personable and sweet. My husband and I instantly liked them both for their honest and friendly demeanor and will definitely use them again for any photo opportunity we might need in the future. I'm also recommending them to ALL of my friends in this area who are getting married because they truly have amazing talent, run a reliable, professional photography service, and have REASONABLE prices for the D.C. area (they could definitely charge MUCH more for the quality of the services they provide!!!).

Ben and Taylor were both so prepared on the day of and took extra time beforehand to get a good sense of our preferences and shots that we wanted included in our wedding day photography. Also, they did an EXCELLENT job guiding our wedding party and family through portraits after the ceremony and keeping things moving. The quality of the pictures is exceptional and I would definitely recommend them to anyone else.

Ben Powell made my wedding a success. He had the perfect blend of gentleness and good humor mixed with strong leadership qualities. He had an efficient "get it done" attitude without being in the least bit pushy. He put all the family members and members of the wedding party at ease so that they were relaxed in the pictures. He was very flexible and adaptable, so he worked well with energetic young people as well as more elderly people whose mobility was limited. Countless people commented on how much they enjoyed working with him. He even helped the ceremony and reception run more comfortably by guiding me through the smoothest order of events. Ben is not only a very talented photographer, he is a sweet and calming force on the big day!! My husband and I loved having him there!

Ben and his fiance did a phenomenal job at our wedding. He even made a pinterest account so that I could show him what i liked, and then the final product was almost identical to what I wanted! He was creative, and took some unique shots, but also made the traditional ones just as beautiful.

Ben and his fiance, Taylor were still getting their business out there when we used them for our engagement photos. We LOVED the results and booked them for our wedding. WOW what a year+ will do for an up and coming photographer. His work was spot on, his portfolio is growing every day. His attention to detail is impecable and his attitude will keep any bride not only at ease but on schedule. Ben listens to exactly what you want and delivers. He is speedy yet organized making sure to get every important shot. His assistant comes with his package and absolutely helps when you want the pictures to continue flowing but not seeing your groom before you walk down the aisle. There is a saying that goes something to the effect of, "You get what you pay for". Well, not with Ben Powell Photography. He is extremely reasonably priced (especially for the Washington DC area) and yet his photographs and quality of work come across as if they should/could be priced a lot higher.

Ben Powell Photography did about as close to a perfect job as could be done. Ben did a great job capturing overall wedding photos and candid shots throughout the night that pretty much "tell the story" of how the night progressed.

I was amazed by the shots Ben was able to capture and the quality of the work itself. It seems like everybody who attended the wedding was photographed and included.

Ben has provided quality service from documenting my shower to pictures in his studio to my wedding day. Even though it was a small private event, Ben documented the occasion perfectly. I highly recommend him!

Ben Powell Photography handled both our engagement and wedding photography.

Ben was extremely knowledgeable when my (now) husband and I met with him and his assistant Taylor to discuss ideas and options beforehand. Neither of us had any concrete ideas, but as soon as we described a direction that we wanted to go in, Ben was immediately able to pick up on our style and help guide us to our desired outcome.
He made sure to mention options or alternatives that he had provided to other couples - both he and Taylor were very flexible when it came to our wants and needs.
He gave us his cost and contract at the end of the meeting and my husband and I were both very pleased with his pricing. It was definitely within our wedding budget.

On each respective day, both Ben and Taylor were extremely professional; they both arrived on time to the venues and had all the necessary equipment needed to do the job. They both remained completely professional during the duration of their jobs.

Ben has previously done both engagement and wedding photos and that was definitely apparent on each separate day; he knew exactly how to guide us and we didn't have to worry about any 'missing' poses or setups. His vision was totally in sync with ours.
Also, our wedding day was very hot and I really appreciated the fact that Ben didn't mind when my husband and I took breaks to drink water and cool off.

Our photography from each occasion was edited and 'retouched' within an exceedingly reasonable interval; especially considering there were so many photos. Ben was very patient with us when it came to our edits and took the time to make sure we were happy with what we got.

Ben was very prompt in his emails and text messages when he replied to me. His responsiveness was very reassuring amid the craziness of planning a wedding - I never had to worry about not receiving a reply.

I'd also like to add that both Ben and Taylor are very friendly and very very nice. They put both my husband and I at complete ease on each of our photo shoot days; but obviously, it was especially nice at our wedding, no awkwardness or feelings of distance - by this point we were all pretty comfortable around each other. Both he and Taylor are a perfect blend of professionalism and friendliness.

Ben and his crew came highly recommended from a family member. I needed to pull off my wedding without having the benefit of a large budget. My ceremony was beautifully captured by Ben Powell Media. The shots were original, and very creatively done. I can look at my wedding album and relive it all through the professional photographs that I have to cherish as a keepsake. I owe alot of the precious memories to Ben Powell Media for preserving them.There are pictures of people that I was not aware that came to the wedding only because they did not make it to the reception, and I was such a ball of nerves, that I didn't see everyone in the church. My focus was on getting down the isle and saying my vows on this day. So, Ben Powell Media captured so much that I was not able to see that day.
My favorite shot of all time is the black and white photgraph of my husband and I in the foyer of the church on the way down the isle after we said our vows and we were just walking and looking into the daylight streaming through the windows of the church foyer.
