We fell in love with the Bethesda North Marriott during our first visit while searching for a hotel for our South Asian wedding. It was priced higher than some of the nearby hotels, but the hotel was far superior so we thought it was the better value. In the end, it was worth every penny because the hotel and staff were amazing. Our hotel coordinator, Randi Jacobs, was outstanding and we had a great experience working with her through the planning process and on our wedding day. She was extremely fast and thorough in her responses to our questions. She was very sincere and genuinely wanted the event to be a success and for us to enjoy our wedding day. Not to mention it was extremely helpful that Randi and the hotel staff were quite experienced with South Asian weddings. She had great ideas and was very detailed oriented. Everything went smoothly as planned and we along with our friends and family had a wonderful time. Also, all coordination with our other vendors and setting up the ballroom for the ceremony and then reception worked out great and we didn't have to worry about a thing on our wedding day. One thing our wedding guests loved was the outside patio area with bar during the cocktail reception. Even those who stayed at the hotel were impressed with the accommodations and the staff. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was amazing. We are so happy that we chose the Bethesda North Marriott and would highly recommend checking it out!

Overall I had a very positive experience with the Bethesda North Marriott. We only had our reception there and had our ceremony off-site. My event coordinator was Claudia and she did a good job of making sure our day was perfect. She was there throughout the reception to make sure we had everything we needed. A few days leading up to our wedding, we were informed the so-called buffer room was booked. We were promised during our initial meeting that room would stay empty so if there was another event, we wouldn't compete for noise. Unfortunately we didn't have it in writing since it was told to us like it was part of the contract. It ended up being fine, and we couldn't hear the people next door (who were only going to use the space for a short time). However, if you are told there will be a buffer room get it in writing that way there are no issues. They definitely made it up to us with several very nice upgrades we were very grateful for. Our guests complimented every aspect of the reception, especially the food! I do recommend the Bethesda North Marriott since besides that one aspect, everything else was pretty much flawless and I couldn't have asked for a better reception. If you can pick your event coordinator (we were assigned one) ask for Claudia! She was great!!!

Our event planner at the hotel was very easy to deal with, but on occasion took time to get back to us. The venue was absolutely beautiful. Everyone commented on the space. The set up for the ceremony and the reception were perfect for what we needed. We had an a la carte lunch and was a little disappointed by the steak choice. It did not taste like it did at our tasting. Some of our guests did not receive any wedding cake. Other than that I would use this venue again. We had the entire place to ourselves as there were no other events that day. It was very convenient since it is right near the White Flint Station and many of our guests went into DC. We also had many out of town guests. Also, the room price was very reasonable.

My wedding coordinator Michelle was great. She was helpful and even found our toasting flutes when they were taken away to be washed with the other hundreds of champagne flutes that night.

Nattriya was amazing!!! A great event planner to work with. The quality of service was amazing! From the start of the day, which was 6 in the morning till the end of the night. Everyone was very accommodating and made sure everything went smoothly. I would say it is more on the pricey side but totally worth it. I rather pay a little more and be less stressed and have an amazing time. I would not change a thing about our wedding. Totally recommend this place!!!

We had high expectations for this venue, as Marriott is a reputable and well-known chain of hotels. It should have been a red flag that the first event planner assigned to us did not reach out to us, much less respond to any of our emails. We looked past this and gave them another chance. When we requested for a different planner, we were assigned to someone a little more responsive (much more so at the beginning but got worse as we got closer to the wedding) and seemed to understand and relate to our needs, but she did not appear to be knowledgeable about things and misled/misinformed us about things that later caused problems.
During the wedding day itself, there were details that were not incorporated that caused us frustration. First, our event planner did not show up until the afternoon of our wedding, not the morning to take care of seating charts, details, etc. Our wedding banner was not hung up, and our introduction at the reception could barely be heard because the event planner did not think to turn up the speakers. We explicitly requested for colored lights at the reception and were disappointed to find WHITE lights when we walked in. Additionally, the service of the wait staff was less than mediocre. They cleared plates before our guests were done eating. The bar staff DEMANDED tips from our guests (even though gratuity was included in our payment). We had rings in the cake for our guests to pick, and the staff as instructed not to take the cake until the ribbons (which held the rings) were pulled, but they brought the cake back before this was done. The rings went missing because they did this (TWO Tiffany's rings, and Marriott did not take responsibility for their staff nor offer to reimburse us). We had four tiers in our cake, less than 1/4 of our guests were served cake, and the rest of the cake went missing.
We don't want to get into every detail, but we would warn brides out there to be weary of this venue. The planning process is a bumpy, and the service was under par. Our reception still looked fine, but it could have gone ten times better. For the cost, I would go...

The Marriott made the wedding so personal and special. They took care of everything making the wedding occur seamlessly so all we had to worry about was each other!

You get what you pay for. The Marriott was perhaps on the higher end of the area hotels however their service and attention to detail was impeccable. We worked with Randi Jacobs who was solid, consistant and honest. I had high standards for them and they assured me that they would deliver nothing less than perfect. I was a little skeptical since most people tell brides not to expect perfection because you will be let down. However the Marriott really delivered. They went above and beyond in every area including ordering my husband's favorite liquor, upgrading my suite last minute, having a butler and hors d'oeuvres waiting for us in the suite pre-reception so we didn't truly miss out on cocktail hour. We had a filet/shrimp duet dinner that was cooked perfectly. Our guests feedback was 100% positive. I really believe that Randi and her colleagues not only wanted but also enjoyed making our dreams come true.

I loved this venue very much because it was very classy, the ballroom had plenty of space for the guests to get up, walk around, dance, and mingle. The staff really bent over backwards that night to make sure myself and my now husband had a wonderful time. I will say that it was pricey when it came to the food. However, the experience was wonderful overall and we had a great time :)

The ceremony and reception venue was wonderful. All the staff at the Marriott was so nice and helpful and we were so pleased with how everything turned out. We worked with Kaitlyn McGarry who was so helpful and responsive to all of our needs. The food was great and many people told us that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. We would highly recommend this venue.

The venue was large enough. But our guest had many problems from the beginning booking their room
at our special rate (told no rooms available, etc). The main coordinator person was never available which was
frustrating. Very expensive overall. But our event was lovely overall.

We really enjoyed working with Kaitlin and the team at the Bethesda North Marriott. They were super flexible and accomodating and a pleasure to work with. The Marriott is a beautiful hotel and we are so happy that we decided to have our wedding and reception there.

This place was gorgeous and much cheaper than some equally (maybe even less) impressive venues just 15 minutes away in D.C. Everyone I worked with was very friendly and professional and made my wedding day truly amazing.

My experience with the Marriott was stressful to say the least. My event manager quit 2 months before my event and I was assigned to Jeff Moseley. Jeff struggled to read emails completely and from his responses and use of the English language lead me to believe he could not read. Jeff did not follow through on our requests in a timely manner and often had to be asked several times for one thing, yet when he needed something he would expect us to get it to him in a matter of minutes. Dessert was served incorrectly, midnight snacks as described in the contract were not given to the bride and the groom, nor was the breakfast in bed. Items from the event were lost by the Marriott staff. Jeff caused much stress in the days leading up to the event and when I asked for assistance from his boss, I was met with resistance. No one from the Marriott ever apologized for inconveniences or mistakes on their part. Although they compensated me for the items lost, it does not replace them or can bring back the moments that were spent struggling through dealings with this event manager.

The entire experience was completely pain free. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it for the service. The menu was so elegant and ballroom was lovely. Our event coordinator was Claire. She was very organized, professional, and personable. We were more than impressed with our wedding reception.

The hotel did an amazing job with the wedding. The reception was on the balcony in the evening and the dinner was in the ballroom. They created a warm atmosphere where everyone had a fantastic time. The staff was very attentive and the food was mouth watering. We had people ask for seconds!
The Bethesda North Conference Center is an amazing venue close to DC but convenient to major roads and metro as well. There are many meeting and ballroom spaces, and the Marriott name says it all. Ask for Olaf and he will take exceptional care of you.
The Bethesda North Marriott is truly a top-notch hotel. They have the capacity to host HUGE parties which is wonderful for Indian, Asian, and other types of weddings that include hundreds of guests. The staff is always on top of their game and the food is really wonderful (really!). It's always a pleasure working with the staff there and I always recommend them to my clients.
