I had a wonderful and relaxing experience with Betsy. I found her on the Inside Weddings Magazine website. I was impressed with her body of work and commitment to making a bride look natural and fresh on her wedding day.
She is professional, flexible, organized and so easy to work with. I had my trial make up done the day my husband and I were having our engagement session with our photographer. She drove to me and the session took about an hour. She was great about asking me questions about colors and looks that I liked. My eye shadow makeup showed up a bit darker than I like in the engagment pics and Betsy worked with me on getting the shades I wanted. She did another trial run the day of my bridal shower for free! Her rates are super reasonable and she is easily available via email and phone. She worked well with my wedding planner and was on time on the day of the wedding.

She was a calming presence during the getting ready hours on my wedding day. She did mine and my mother's makeup. Our makeup was amazing! She stayed until I was dressed and ready to go and did last minute touch ups of lipstick. She gives every bride a small shatung silk fabric envelope with a sample of the lipstick she used, blotting paper and mints. What a great touch! I now consider Betsy a friend and can't wait to use her again.

Betsy was absolutely wonderful!! She is so easy going and really puts you at ease. She knows her craft and it definitely shows in her work. During my trial, I brought her pictures of hair and make-up that I liked and she replicated it exactly. During my wedding, I decided I wanted a different color lipstick, and she was completely accommodating and patient with me until we found the color that I liked. My hair and makeup lasted throughout the whole night; I didn’t even have to reapply my lipstick (though she provided me with a little pouch with everything I might need-so thoughtful!). Throughout the night, I kept receiving compliments about how gorgeous my hair and make-up looked. She also did the hair and makeup for my mom and BM and they were thrilled with the results.

Betsy is the best hair and make-up person out there and I will definitely be using her if I ever need my hair and make-up done professionally again. I would highly recommend her to any bride for their wedding. You will be so ecstatic with the results!

Betsy is great at what she does, I am so happy I choose her to do my makeup for my big day! I don’t normally wear much makeup & I was a little timid with having my makeup done professionally – I wanted to still look like “me”. She really understood my desire for a natural look & I felt so beautiful on my wedding day, yet still myself, which was really important to me. And she did it all with very little help from me, because I didn’t really know what I wanted! But she is a professional, asked the right questions, listened patiently & gave me the look that was right for me

Not only did she do a great job with my makeup, but she was available on short notice & happy to be there very early (10am wedding; girls you know what time that means you start getting ready!) She has such a calming presence (& everything she uses smells great!), which was a huge blessing the morning of the wedding. As you have read, she gives you a little pouch with everything you might need, and even though you don’t really need it, you know that it is there just in case, which is HUGE. One less thing; this is big when you have so much else to think about. She just makes the process simpler & less stressful.

Betsy is very easy-going, friendly, & considerate. I have known her most of my life (she is my neighbor), but I still wasn’t sure about having someone else do my makeup (I have had a few bad experiences with getting my makeup done that were NOT the natural look I pleaded for). After the trial run, I was confident that she understood me & I was able to trust her completely with my makeup. I assure you that you can trust her too – she is better than I could have ever hoped for and I can’t thank her enough!

Like the rest of the reviews here, I loved Betsy! I would highly recommend her to anyone. As a bride I was very thorough when looking for my vendors. Betsy was one of the many hair and make-up vendors I spoke with, but by far the best priced and kindest. She was running a special for hair and make-up trial which really worked for my budget. Her assistant, Jenny, did an amazing job as well. All of my bridesmaid's, stepmom, flower girls and sister-in-law had hair and make-up done. Everyone loved their looks. Betsy was great when communicating by email before the wedding. She was very helpful and listened to everything I had to say about my hair and make-up. If there was anything I didn't like or didn't feel right, she was quick to make me feel 100% comfortable with my look.

Betsy is the BEST!!

I know everyone says a bride is beautiful on her wedding day, but I've never recieved more compliments than on that day and over the photos taken that day! Moreover, I felt comfortable AND beautiful.

I generally don't wear much makeup on a daily basis, so I knew I would need a professional for the Big Day. I didn't have anything to worry about. Betsy is so skilled that at the test session she gave me a glamorous makeover that had my family and friends saying that I looked like I belonged on a red-carpet (I couldn't resist showing the test photos to everyone). As great as that was, since we were planning an afternoon wedding, I thought it was too much. No problem! Betsy redid both hair and makeup so it was a little more relaxed and natural-looking and I ended up with the perfect wedding day look for me.

And not only did my hair and makeup look good both in person and on film, but it held up throughout the morning ceremony, afternoon reception and beyond. I didn't need to do more than touch-up my lipstick that evening - which was easy to do since she kindly provided some along with blotting papers (which came in handy for my husband) and breath mints in a nice little silk pouch.

Betsy's also a problem solver!! On the morning of the wedding, I noticed a smudge on my wedding dress! My family tried several things, but we couldn't get it off and my MoH was panicking (she'd brought it to the hotel for me) when Betsy calmly pulled out a white pencil and suggested we try hiding the mark - it worked!!

I highly recommend Betsy to anyone with a big occasion, especially brides. She is more than an incredibly skilled hair and makeup artist. She is more than a professional - she is warm, friendly, relaxed and accommodating. She is the best!

Betsy was everything I hoped for in my wedding make-up and hair stylist. Her make-up was skilfully subtle, beautiful in the photos and it lasted all evening. It is rare to find a stylist who listens as well as Betsy and she could not have been more accommodating, especially with helping me to find the right up-do. I was grateful most of all for her calming presence. My wedding day got off to the right start with Betsy!

Betsy is absolutely fabulous! She was a joy to work with. I found her on Project Wedding and liked that she emphasizes just making you look as good as possible, but still like yourself. That was important to me (and my Mom, too!).

My trial was great, so I booked her for me and my sister (my other bridesmaids weren't sure if they'd be able to afford to have their hair/makeup done). She easily incorporated the small changes I wanted after the trial and looking further at the pictures. My sister was also thrilled with her hair and make-up and understood why I'd insisted on going out for drinks after my trial--we both felt so glamorous! Betsy was calm and fun and easily produced clear nail polish, even for one of the other girls who was doing her own hair and make-up.

I can't recommend Betsy highly enough. If I have another fancy occasion in my life warranting hair and make-up to be done professionally, I will definitely be going back to her.

When someone gives a ring, we know that we found the one. Surprisingly, when I was under water to prepare for our wedding, I (and probably like you) realized that another “one” must be found. If you want to look special and be yourself at your wedding day, Betsy is the one.

I was advised to choose the hair-style and make-up artist through personal referral because of trust. I was introduced to a couple make-up and hairstyle artists through friends (including “top-end” artists) but I did not feel a “click”. As a result, I decided to make a search on the Internet and I found Betsy’s website. I was amazed with the excellent reviews. More importantly, her selective samples and her impressive CV posted on the website somehow gave me some trust. We made the decision quickly after the meeting with Betsy at her cozy and stylist home office. Betsy is definitely a professional. She asked the right questions to learn about the personality and expectation. Trust me! Betsy is trustworthy for the wedding day.

With her personality, particularly her flexibility, she made me feel that she was a friend rather than a contractor who provides a one-off service. My husband dropped me off at the house and we went to the location together. We chatted along the drive and shared our stories while she applied the make-up. She constantly asked for feedback to ensure I felt comfortable with the color applied. It was a relaxing and joyful 3 hours. In addition to the agreed working duration, she was flexible to stay extra hours as a friend would do. She was there during the photo shooting. She did some final touch-up before I walked down the aisle. It was not my plan to have 2 hair-styles although I was planning to wear 2 dresses – one for the ceremony and one for reception. As I wore the Vietnamese traditional color (yellow and red) and a special Vietnamese wedding hat during the reception, she joined the ceremony and made another hairstyle as well as changed the make-up color to best suite my dress. Everyone loved the make-up I wore. While it gave me a natural look, it did have something that made me stand out on the day.

Betsy went above and beyond the call of duty ensuring that I, the bride, was not only beautiful but also felt relaxed and in good hands.

She was very specific about making sure every detail was to my liking. By the end of the day, we all felt like she was part of the family. I received so many compliments and was repeatedly told I was a beautiful bride (every woman's dream). Betsy did the hair and makeup for several bridesmaids as well and tailored the look to each persons individual age and style. She is punctual and accountable, which is so reassuring on your wedding day. Betsy is the best hair and make-up stylist you could hope for on your wedding day! I had two unsuccessful hair and make-up trials before finding Betsy. She is amazing and made me feel so confident on my wedding day.

What makes Betsy different is that she really listens to exactly what you want and is willing to work with you to get that look even willing to make changes to your hair and make-up after she’s done them.

We exchanged pictures of looks that I was interested in over email before meeting. And she had those pictures printed out and ready at my trial. I did my trial at her home and when I got there she was ready to go and even had tea and cookies laid out for us. She also takes a picture for you (and prints it out right there!) after she’s done which is great if you want to see how you will look in photos on the wedding day.

She also was great in getting me the more natural look that I wasn’t able to get out of other hair and make-up stylists. Some stylists hear the word “wedding” and assume you want a certain look, but not Betsy. Like I said, she really listens to you to find out what you want and what you’re comfortable with. She doesn’t try to force anything on you and really just tries to make you happy.

She was also really helpful in making suggestions of make-up colors to use and working with you to pick the right colors and styles for your complexion and features.. She is punctual, professional and very friendly and easy to get along with. She was really responsive to my emails and phone calls. She showed up on time on the wedding day and the whole experience was really relaxing and wonderful. Basically, she was a dream to work with. I can’t imagine that anyone else is better than Betsy! She really made my wedding day/look perfect!

Betsy was amazing. After much research on this website, I found that Betsy offered exactly what I needed. She was so patient and listened to all my requests. Since I had never had my make-up professionally done, I was a little hesitant.I didn't want to look clownish or not like myself. Fortunately, Betsy walked me through every step. She looked over all the pictures and color palettes I brought in and gave suggestions to what she thought would work best.

After the first trial run I was ecstatic. Everything looked great. The photos that she took after we were finished really gave me an idea of what I'd look like on the "big day." I loved the look, but my fiance had always mentioned how he would love to see me in a more dramatic look for our night wedding. Betsy was so open to changes she told me that I could return again and we could try something a little more dramatic. I returned a week later and loved the smoky eyes she did. She was so flexible and friendly it was like spending time with a friend. Betsy kept my make-up looking dramatic, yet fresh and light, perfect for a summer evening wedding. It photographed well and I received so many compliments.

The make-up lasted all night and didn't need any touch ups! Since I am prone to oily skin, I am usually running to the restroom for powder touch ups throughout the night. Because of this, Betsy purchased a special matte primer and WOW it really worked. I stayed on the dance floor all night and not one touch up was needed.

Betsy was very accessible. She e-mailed me often to see how I was doing and promptly returned all my e-mails. It is very rare in Los Angeles to find someone so professional and yet so down to earth. Betsy showed up early and stayed late and had a calming effect on the whole bridal party. Betsy is an amazing hair and makeup artist as well as being a terrific person. I can't thank her enough for making me look and feel beautiful on my wedding day!

Betsy is awesome. She did my hair & make up and my sister's hair & make up for my wedding on October 10th. I chose Betsy because I could tell from the start that she would really listen to me. She didn't make me "look like a bride", she made me look beautiful in the way that I wanted to look on my wedding day. She really is skilled in applying make up so that it looks natural but amazing at the same time.

I had a great trial run with Betsy. We had a great conversation in which I was able to explain my style, my dress, jewelry and all the little details that factored into my look. She did a couple of looks on me until I was happy. She took pictures of each look and printed them for me to take home. I had no doubt on my wedding day that I was going to look exactly how I wanted and that made me feel very confident.

Aside from being great at making you look beautiful, Betsy is a really nice person to be around. She is easy to talk to and listens really well. I think it is important not to underestimate this because you spend a considerable amount of time with your make up artist just hours before your wedding. You want to be around someone who makes you feel comfortable. My sister and I had a such a good time with Betsy and we were both so pleased with our looks. Our make up and hair looked beautiful the whole night.

Betsy did a WONDERFUL job on my hair and makeup for my wedding. I could not have been happier with the result. Betsy was very accomidating to my schedule as well as my requests, and even helped with last minute requests to fit everyone in on the wedding day. She listened to what I wanted to achieve and executed my look with perfection. Betsy helped me achieve the look I wanted by carefully checking with me and asking questions throughout the process. She was a joy to work with and talk to. You can tell when working with Betsy that she is a true professional and knows her art very very well. Betsy is a true artist and professional! She fixed my hair and makeup as well as five bridesmaids without a hitch or a tear. In fact, we were smiles all day.

If you are a detail oriented bride, you will love Betsy. Months before my wedding she started the planning process by asking me to provide photos of hair and makeup. A week before the wedding, I was given a detailed schedule so she had enough time with each of us. She arrived early with the photos and schedule! Better still, she kept her schedule all day. The atmosphere was fun and relaxing because she is a great person and because everything was completed at a relaxed pace.

Betsy did an awesome job with everyone's makeup. I grew up with several of my bridesmaids and have never seen them look as good as they did on my wedding day. The colors were perfect. Moreover, my makeup did not smudge or fade at all!

All of our hair was styled differently and looked natural. My hair stayed in place all day and through the reception. My veil was cathedral length and stayed in securely even when I snagged it. I thought for sure I would have a tight-hair-headache with a veil that long, but I didn't!!!! I can't thank Betsy enough for making me and my bridal party absolutely beautiful for the most special day of my life!

She is reliable and efficient and stayed with me until I was dressed before re-touching me up and then leaving. My hairstyle wasn't quite right at the trial but I trusted her to work with me to make it perfect on the day - AND SHE DID! I first found out about Betsy's work through our reception site who highly recommended her work. The referral was an excellent one and I couldn't have been more satisfied with the job she and her assistant completed for our wedding this July. She did hair and make-up for both my mom and I (neither of us often wear make-up and were really pleased by her emphasis on a natural look) as well as hair for my bridesmaids. She was also a huge help up until our wedding day -- answering all of my emails (many!) promptly.

Betsy was just such a wonderful and important part of our wedding. A friend recommended her and we could not have done better. She was fun to work with -- she's a lovely person. She was confident and warm. That helped me relax. She struck a balance between listening to what I wanted and at the same time guiding me and offering me her professional opinion and expertise.

Betsy is EXTRAORDINARY!! She did my makeup for my wedding and it was ... perfection. I looked like me just more beautiful. Betsy's skills are amazing, but that's just part of it. Betsy was absolutely wonderful to work with for my wedding! I was a little worried since I live in WA and was getting married in Los Angeles, so I wasn't able to have a practice session or even meet with Betsy prior to my wedding day. But she worked with me over the phone and through email, we exchanged photos of my dress and what I thought I wanted my hair to look like, and it came out better than I could have hoped for! I don't wear a lot of makeup and she made my skin look flawless and beautiful without looking like I even had makeup on...it was amazing! And her makeup stayed put during all my crying and throughout a night of dancing! Now I wish I lived closer so Betsy could do my hair and make up all the time! I would love to look that perfect for all my special occasions!

Betsy is by far the best hair and makeup person in Los Angeles. She did my wedding in December and was AMAZING. I could not recommend her more! Not only did she do an incredibly cool stylized look for me (EXACTLY what I was looking for), but she is the NICEST person to spend the time with! I got non stop compliments on my hair and makeup at the wedding and my friends who spent time with her getting ready still won't stop talking about her! We had such a great time! Believe me - I rarely recommend anyone - but I could rave about Betsy all day! She is the best you can get - anywhere!

After trying various hair and makeup artists recommended by close friends, I chose Betsy, who I'd found on this website, to do my hair and makeup for my big day. I was so pleased with her work that I didn't hesitate to recommended her to my sister-in-law for her big day!

Betsy has years of experience in hair and makeup and beautifully executed the vintage/ethereal look I was after. Betsy's talent is in her ability to customize a look to each unique bride. She will be honest with her recommendations, while staying true to the look you are after. She did a fantastic job for me, and I would recommend her again and again!

I found Betsy on project wedding. I was looking for someone to do my hair and makeup for my wedding but I didn't have any good referrals. Needless to say I spent a lot of time online searching for good reviews and affordable prices. Thankfully Besty was one of the first vendors I found on this website. I had a trial makeup and hair session where she asked me tons of questions about myself and what I wanted. Betsy was very professional and personable so I decided to book her that day. Added plus - she had snacks for me and my fiance in case we got hungry during the trial run. I though that was a nice touch.
A few days before my wedding I broke out very very badly. It must have been all the stress and I tried everything under the sun to make the zits go away. The day of my wedding I woke up looking pretty bad....I was sooooo upset.
That morning Betsy came and assured me everything could be covered up with makeup and it would be okay. I was very nervous but when she was done I was so relieved. Everyone told me how great I looked and when I finally saw the pictures I was soooo HAPPY! I can't believe how great my face looked. She did a great job for me and I highly recommend her.

I found Betsy through the Hotel Bel-Air list of preferred vendors so I knew she would be reputable already. I found that she was very easy to work with and made the stress of selecting a hair/makeup vendor almost relaxing. She was careful not to assume anything but asked a lot of questions and really tried to understand the look I was going for. She suggested that I bring in some magazine photos of hair/make up that I liked so she could get the look just right and I would agree that those photos were very helpful during our consultation.

I liked that she kept a very organized book of her brides and created a page for me where she wrote down every product she used on me during the trial run. I was most worried about having too much make up and that reassured me that my look would be easily recreated on my wedding day. I like that she took a real natural approach to make up yet it lasted the whole night.

After our first run through, I was not 100% happy with my hair so Betsy agreed to come back again and re-do it free of charge. I really appreciated this attention to detail! She was even willing to come to my house.

On my wedding day, she arrived early which gave us plenty of time to get ready at a comfortable pace - no rushing! Having her calm demeanor around you as you get ready for your big day is so nice. She has a way of doing her job and working within the chaos of the day - not adding to it. I enjoyed working with her very much and would strongly recommend her.

Having recently moved to CA from Texas I had no idea who to hire for my hair and makeup. After searching the net, reading thousands of reviews and soliciting the help of other brides on various wedding website boards, Betsy was highly recommended.

What I really loved is that Betsy does both hair and makeup and I didn't have to book two people. When I met Betsy for my trial run she was no nice and engaging because I was nervous! I brought a few pictures and we discussed how I envisioned myself for my wedding day. Betsy is so talented that I was blown away at the trial and knew that she would do a wonderful job of making me gorgeous.

On the actual wedding day, Betsy arrived ready to do her magic and we were joking and laughing like we had known each other for years which put my nerves to rest! We had people coming in and out of the hotel suite and she was so calm and professional with the photographers and family that were there while we were getting ready. My photos came out so beautiful that I still have people asking me to forward my slideshow to their friends. I would highly recommend Betsy and have already booked her for a post wedding trash the dress photo shoot!!

My brother's wedding was my first experience as a bridesmaid, and I can't imagine the hair and make-up component going ANY better. I was actually a little nervous before the event because I'd never been professionally made-up, but Betsy totally alleviated my anxieties. She worked with my sister-in-law and 5 bridesmaids, and juggled 6 styles, 6 preferences, 6 timeframes - all in one morning! We really worked as a team; Betsy took our suggestions and had her own, and the two together created a VERY satisfied bridal party.

Bottom line: Betsy helped each of us to look like our best selves - the prettiest selves we've ever been.

Betsy thinks of every detail to make your wedding day smooth and stress free, she even brought straws for our champagne. She packs a little touchup kit that helps keep the bride fresh throughout the day!

I had a hard time finding a hairstylist for my wedding. It seemed everyone I contacted was booked on my wedding day. Then I searched the internet and found Betsy!
When we met, I liked her immediately! She is very down to earth and worked with me on different ideas to style my hair. We met a few times to get just the right look for me.
The day of the wedding, Betsy really had her hands full! Not only did she style my hair, but she styled 6 other gals in my wedding party! That was a lot to do in the time frame we had. Betsy arrived at 5am so we could be ready for pictures by 9am. Betsy was FANTASTIC pulling it all together for us. We all felt and looked fabulous!!!
