Betty Brooklyn was amazing! Her prices were among the most affordable of everyone we quoted, yet I can't imagine her service and food being any better. Elizabeth was so thorough and organized in the weeks and months leading up to our wedding. It made us so confident in her ability to help us throw a wonderful wedding without any hiccups, and really helped to reduce our stress! We both love to cook and consider food a hobby, so it was really important to us to provide a great meal. The food was superb! So many of our guests told us how wonderful the food was and continue to rave about it. We are still enjoying all the leftovers she sent us home with. Her staff were attentive and friendly, and everything was just beautiful and professional. Highly recommended!

We could not have asked for a better catering company than Betty Brooklyn for our wedding. We had what many in the NYC area would probably consider a small budget, and had a lot of trouble early on finding someone to work with who was affordable but who wasn't going to leave our guests hungry! We had envisioned a less traditional menu, with more tapas-style service and variety than your traditional salad/entree/dessert style. Elizabeth and her team had so many options for us to choose from that it was actually difficult to make our final menu! From the start and all the way through the process Elizabeth was so professional, prompt, and quick to answer any questions we had. And the food was AMAZING. We've had so many of our guests tell us how delicious everything was, and how much it was unlike traditional "wedding" food. We would recommended Betty Brooklyn to anyone looking for a caterer for their wedding - trust us, it will take a HUGE weight off your shoulders!!

Elizabeth (Betty Brooklyn) catered our April 2013 wedding. The food was delicious and the service was professional and smooth. We got so many compliments on the food. Elizabeth's food is creative and simple but not boring, and she really understood our vision of a seasonal, vegetable-heavy family style dinner.

Elizabeth was also really helpful in laying out all of our options for the menu and identifying areas we could cut costs without compromising the dinner. She is very organized and from the start we had total confidence that she could execute everything. She was responsive to emails which was especially nice as we were deep into wedding planning. She is very clear about what she needs to deliver quality service and where she is more flexible. On one issue that we felt strongly about, she was ultimately able to accommodate us, which we very much appreciated. She also graciously accommodated some last minute dietary restriction food requests and made one of our favorite cakes as a wedding cake.

Finally, we appreciated her attention to detail. She packed up two boxes of food for us and a cake for us to take at the end of the night. After not getting to eat much during dinner due to chatting and excitement, it was so nice to be able to enjoy the delicious food at the hotel.

Betty Brooklyn was an absolute dream to work with. She was the perfect combination of totally organized and totally relaxed -- nothing slipped by her, and yet she never made us feel stressed about any of it. And the food!! Many, many people came up to us during dinner to tell us it was by far the best wedding food they'd ever had, and a few friends went on to request her card for their weddings! The meat and veggies were outstanding and her staff was absolutely lovely. And she sent us off at the end of the night with leftovers and a tote bag! It was perfect. I could not recommend her more highly!

Best caterer in the world!!! Friends are asking for recipes of the dishes they ate. Her staff was so incredibly friendly. They really added to the party. Hiring any vendor for a wedding is challenging. We were so ignorant about everything. Elizabeth made things so easy for us. We are truely thankful for everything and can't imagine our wedding without her.

Given the extremely limited time frame in which BettyBrooklyn organized the catering for our wedding--we contacted her a month and a half before the wedding!--the exceptional quality of each aspect of her service was that much more remarkable and appreciated. Elizabeth was very professional: taking the time to answer our many questions, providing detailed breakdowns of costs, meeting at the venue and being flexible about its limitations, and giving us an incredible list of food options, each more delicious sounding than the last. She was also warm and easy to work with. We were never made to feel that putting our wedding together in so little time was an issue. She really listened to what we hoping for in our wedding food, and encouraged us as we frantically put together our wedding, which at least half a dozen guests said was "the best wedding we'd ever been to". The incredible quality of her food--really, the best food I've had at any wedding (and many guests said the same): if I had ordered our dinners at an upscale Brooklyn restaurant, I would have been thrilled!--and the professionalism of her staff had so much to do with this. I had high hopes for our wedding, and BettyBrooklyn exceeded all of them. Anyone who uses her services will be so glad they did so.

We wanted a simple and elegant wedding and reception for 150 people but didn’t know where to start. We knew that we wanted a main focus to be on the food- we wanted our guests to enjoy the event. Elizabeth of Betty Brooklyn, our caterer, helped make this happen. The food was delicious; her advice on food and rentals was spot on; and the staff was personable and professional. Thank you Elizabeth! You guided us through our specific needs and desires: seasonal vegetables, vegetarian options, a nut allergy, and I’m sure more. Elizabeth’s guidance was practical, budget aware, and realistic- focusing the efforts on the parts that were important to us. Our experience with Betty Brooklyn was terrific- we’ve already recommended her to other people.

I simply can't recommend Betty Brooklyn enough. She is courteous, prompt, organized and professional. We were in frequent contact with her in the months before our wedding about all kinds of things, and whenever we had to adjust the guest list, or asked about menu items or price checked something, she always got back to us as soon as possible. Her staff worked well with the venue, and were friendly and attentive during the event, making sure everyone got appetizers and refilled what needed to be refilled.

Elizabeth will work with you to keep things under-budget, and was more affordable than any other caterer we talked to. Of course, none of that would matter if the food wasn't up to snuff, and I am happy to tell you that everything they served was delicious. Seriously, order the chipotle macaroni and cheese. I am tempted to throw a one-year anniversary party and have her cater it just so I can have it again. The biscuits, fried chicken and salad were as flavorful as anything we've ever gotten from any New York restaurants. (She offers a variety of meal options; we went with a picnic theme.) The cake was also as good as anything you'd get from Magnolia, and she also offered fruit and other healthy side-options. Also, do yourself another favor and get the truffle popcorn. Words won't do it justice, just trust us.

Hiring Elizabeth was probably be best decision we made when we started wedding planning. First of all - the food - oh the food. My husband and I joke that our only regret at the wedding is that we didn't eat more. All of our guests raved about the food - the sautéed summer squash and chipotle mac and cheese were the clear favorites with many of our guests heading back up to the buffet for seconds. I could go on all day about the quality of the food. Everything from the lemonade and passed apps to our ice cream sundae bar was handled beautifully by Elizabeth and her courteous staff.

Going back to my initial statement, Elizabeth was nothing but a job to work with. She was always responsive to emails and questions with no detail being too small - she even got down on hands and knees to look for electrical sockets at our non-traditional venue. She worked with our budget and even helped suggest ways to keep costs down. I wish I could throw another party just so I could work with her again and eat more mac and cheese.

Not only was BettyBrooklyn's food amazing, the team was awesome on the day of. I hear it's good luck to have it rain on your wedding day, so that's the good news. The bad news was that we had to move our outdoor ceremony indoors, into the very room that lunch was meant to be served. As I watched the rain drops falling down that morning, I tried to breath as I realized their implications. I walked over to the venue, ready with ideas for how to make this work. To my surprise, the team had arranged the eating area into an area where we could now perform the ceremony! And they moved the pre-lunch drinks to an adjoining room, giving them the 30 minutes to then turn the ceremony room into the lunch room. I was so relieved. They did everything, there was little for me to do that morning expect get ready, breath deeply, and enjoy my wedding day! Thank you so much for your calmness, professionalism, and quick thinking!

We were so pleased with Betty Brooklyn. Everything was excellent -- from Elizabeth's communication and professionalism to the delicious food that people could not stop talking about.

We opted for drop off service for our event and Elizabeth did a great job coming up with a menu for us that would work for the buffet/self-serve style. She was great about making suggestions and changes until we were completely satisfied with the selections. The tasting that she hosted was awesome. We booked and confirmed before we even left the table!
She also helped us figure out what we would need in terms of dishes, linens, tables, etc.

Her set-up on our wedding day was quick, professional and seamless. And the food was a HUGE hit. We did not stop hearing about the mini roast beef sandwiches, the mini chicken tostadas, and the tortellini salad. And people are still commenting, one week later, about the mini cupcakes. From the first email inquiry to the final congratulations email we received the day after the wedding, Elizabeth was incredible! She has an incredible talent not only for creating delicious food, but her organization and thoroughness are impeccable. Her responsiveness and flexibility made working with her a complete breeze. When I had to stop eating gluten only a few months before the wedding, Elizabeth rolled with it and not only made some of our wedding pies gluten-free, but she also made me special gluten free bread!

On to the best part, the food! We did an incredible tasting with Elizabeth that far surpassed my expectations, and after tasting her food, we knew we had to work with her. Her braised short ribs are heavenly, and a full month later I am still getting reminiscing text messages from friends about her Gorgonzola and Carmelized Onion Tart - it.is.insane. My father, quite the food snob, said the Haricot Verts with Shallots were the best he'd ever had. Top that :) Lastly, I have to mention the pies that Elizabeth makes. They are so wonderfully fresh and flavorful while having an incredible decadence that is extremely satisfying. Not to mention, everyone loved pies in lieu of wedding cake!

Her "get it done" attitude has an amazing way of taking all of the weight off your shoulders, and we felt extremely comfortable putting ourselves and our loved ones in her hands. This attitude also exists in Elizabeth's staff. All of the staff were super helpful and kept things running smoothly. Great service was really important to us, and Elizabeth's team did not disappoint.

We hired Betty Brooklyn (Elizabeth) to cater our October 2011 Wedding and were so happy that we did. The food was wonderful. Elizabeth really emphasizes fresh ingredients and created a wonderful menu for us. She helped us create a vegetarian meal that pleased even those friends who eat meat all the time. We got so many compliments on the food. I also was thoroughly impressed with the great catering staff. Elizabeth is so organized and was wonderfully accomodating when our numbers changed coming into the last two months before the wedding. (On the day of the wedding her staff packed us two to-go meals as she rightly anticipated that we would not get to taste everything. Betty Brooklyn was a pleasure to work with and I hope that I get the chance to work with Elizabeth again in the future.

We are so happy with Elizabeth and her entire staff and everything they did at our wedding this weekend. From her very first email she was very professional and accommodating and sent a beautiful menu to us that hooked us in. She conducted a great tasting and responded to our desires and suggestions, listening to everything and incorporating our personalities and our story into the menu, with attention to local and seasonal foods. They also did little things such as making to-go containers for my husband and I and bringing plates to my elderly grandparents. Their professionalism exceeded that of any wedding I have been to. They even made a beautiful and tasteful cake topper when I forgot mine and they printed menus that looked lovely. I honestly have no complaints whatsoever and am so happy with my decision. I think this company's strength is their ability to really customize things for each customer. Also the value and price was very reasonable and affordable and there was so much great and delicious food, unlike a typical cliche wedding of overcooked food, this was fresh and wonderful.
