TGIS Catering

We had our receptiong at the Centre at sycamore plaza in Lakewood,CA. They use TGIS as the catering company. One thing I didnt like was that we did not get our strawberry lemonade station it limited what the guests had to drink. That being said, I think Susie was exellent and helped us every step of the way. Ive heard some bad reviews about the food at TGIS. However, we both enjoyed the steak as well as the rest of the hordourves. The value was also great.

I didn't use TGIS catering for my wedding but I did use them for my bridal shower. I worked with Jeremy and he was awesome! He was so helpfull with finding other vendors for my wedding as well. Their food is pretty good. They are very affordable and the quality is still great!

We worked with TGIS at the Betty Reckas Cultural Center, so I'm going to repeat some of what I wrote in that review.

We enjoyed working with our event manager, Jeremy. We let him know what we wanted and he did his best for us. He was also very available via email to respond to questions. He helped us with things like linen and chair rentals, candy/snack buffet stations, etc.

The catering was delicious! We highly recommend the wedge salad. My husband doesn't particularly care for salads and usually lets me take the lead in decisionmaking about the wedding, but he was pretty adamant about making sure we had that salad. The filet mignon and provencial chicken options were good as well. My husband's grandmother said it was the best steak she'd ever had. They're also open to your thoughts on food and different styles, flavors, etc.

The TGIS staff the day of the event was amazing as well. Not only were they great with our guests, but they were great with my husband and me as well, making sure we got to taste our h'or deouvres, had drinks, ate as much as we wanted, etc. I wasn't expecting that level of service, but I was glad we got it!

I was unsure of this caterer at first, as my cousin used them and they ran out of meat at their wedding. I was assured this would not happen at mine (which it didn't we had plenty left over!). The service was very inconsistent at first, it was hard to get a hold of the manager, but after speaking to him and Sofia about my concerns, the service was much improved. They were very professional at my wedding, Alex, the coordinator at my specific location was great day of and made sure our needs were being met. It was a drag however that the bakery they used gave us very little to work with and charged extra for literally everything! Oh and the food was great; the chicken was juicy and tasty, the tri tip had good flavor. They also remembered the specific requests I had made.

TGIS is the BEST! Monica was our coordinator, and we cannot express what an amazing help she was. She answered all emails and calls in a timely manner, and always eager to help in any way possible. She worked within our budget, and did not try and sell us on extras. Monica was wonderful with her suggestions and went above and beyond! She is very detailed oriented, and even decorated the food stations in our wedding colors with the upscale decor at no extra charge. It is obvious that Monica truly loves what she does. She put together the perfect buffet that included vegetarian dishes as well as top notch deli meat sandwiches. Our photographer even felt the need to capture the food as it was so beautiful. Our guests are still raving over how good the food was! The staff was more than pleasant, and always smiling and having a good time. We also used TGIS for our rentals (chairs, tables, linens, umbrellas). We would not have been able to pull off our beautiful garden wedding without Monica and the amazing services that TGIS offers. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!!!

Food was great! Pricing was great! Company provided extra touches that made the reception come together.

I was about to book this site, but what stopped me was that they have a tendency to LAG when getting back to you... sometimes, they don't get back to you at all. I figured this might be a problem down the line, so I chose not to deal with it at all (even though they have great prices as well as a nice venue). I'd just rather save myself the stress.

Overall, great site (thus the 3 stars), but a lagging staff.

The food was great! I wanted a Cuban theme menu and they nailed it. I am very sensitive to MSG and they were extra careful to not cook or have ingredients that contained MSG. The waiters were beyond great and professional and really made the food stations look beautiful. They are a very busy catering company, so be patient, but all in all, you will get what you pay for and much,much more.

Great site, Great food, Poor Catering Manager.
Our catering manager did not even show up to the event, did not tell us he was not going to be there and instead sent someone we had never met. Unless they change the contact for this site I would have to not recommend it.

TGIS was AMAZING and did such a great job! Every guest loved the food!

Mark Rivera was the coordinator in charge of our catering at the wedding, adn he was VERY helpful & responsive. He made sure all of our details were perfect.

Sophia is amazing to work with--lots of energy and great ideas. She is really busy! Food was delicious!

They must love to stress a bride the week of the wedding! The management was so rude and unprofessional the week of the wedding by calling me and trying to change contract agreement because they made error and blamed me over and over again. The food was fine and the waiter staff was incredible! No bride needs this the week of the wedding! That is what planning and contracts are for!
