Henry Kim is a paragon of professionalism. From the outset, Henry was extremely responsive to e-mails (in some cases, he responded within a matter of minutes), and throughout the process, he proved to be very detail-oriented and accommodating. At our initial meeting after booking, Henry took detailed notes and provided us a summary of our discussion, as well as action items. He assisted us not only in selecting music appropriate for each of the parts of our wedding reception, but also in obtaining and re-mixing (sometimes obscure) music for our reception, slideshow, and first dance..

On the day of our event, Henry acted not only as our DJ, but also as our emcee and tech support. Communicating with our wedding coordinator, he helped ensure that the events proceeded on time. Prior to the wedding, he followed up with us to make sure that the names he announced for our grand entrance were pronounced correctly. He has a great personality (not cheesy at all – very sincere!), which lent itself perfectly to our fun atmosphere. We had been worried that (as we had witnessed in other weddings we had attended in the past) guests would not get into the spirit of things and participate in dancing, the bouquet toss, and garter toss – we were skeptical even when Henry assured us that he would have no problems getting our guests involved. But Henry proved us wrong – people we never would have thought would have participated did, which really speaks to how much fun they were having. Even my new parents-in-law remarked upon how much they liked Henry and appreciated his professionalism. As our IT guy, prior to the reception, Henry tested out the DVD and projector equipment at our venue to ensure that our video slideshow, which my husband put so much hard work into, ran smoothly and perfectly. Even when some unexpected snafus came up, Henry was flexible, accommodating, and always communicative.

Finally, the music. Henry thoughtfully took into account the songs that we had specifically requested to craft a playlist that ultimately reflected our tastes and that of our guests. We all had a blast dancing, and several of our guests who intended to leave earlier couldn’t pull themselves away because Henry kept playing one great song after another.

We are so pleased that we had the opportunity to work with Henry for this important day in our lives, and would recommend him without reservation to anyone looking for a wonderful, reliable, and affordable DJ for an event.

Hiring Big Fun DJ's was one of the best decisions we made during the planning process! If I could, I'd give them 10 stars!

At first, my Husband and I were not sure if we wanted to allocate money for a wedding DJ. As time was running out, I came across Big Fun DJ's and was blown away by their reviews and list of clients. I contacted them via email for more information and was impressed from the get go. As all the other reviews posted state, Henry was incredibly responsive and profesional. He was quick to respond and friendly while answering all my questions. We ultimately decided we needed to hire Big Fun to help us with the wedding of our dreams.

Stefano Bortolin was the DJ we selected. I truly can't say enough great things about Stefano. He was essential to making our wedding the best evening of our lives. From the first to the last correspondence, Stefano was very responsive to any phone calls or emails while remaining incredibly professional and friendly. When it came time to meet with Stefano, my Husband and I thought it was best to meet at the venue due to logistics. Even though it was an hour and a half away, Stefano was glad to accommodate our wishes. During our meeting with Stefano, he was incredibly thorough and offered great suggestions. My husband and I left the meeting feeling excited and confidant in Stefano. We knew he fully understood what our vision was and without a doubt, Stefano would execute it well. Some of our music selections and ideas were a little unconventional. In addition, we wanted to
include cultural music. Stefano went over and above to pull it all together seamlessly! Working together with our coordinator, Stefano kept the order of events on track. He took careful attention to details, double checking the order of the bridal party and their correct name pronounciation for the "grand entrance" and toasts. All of our guests, young and old, traditional and not, have all said it was the best and most fun wedding they've attended. The dance floor was packed all night! That was our goal and thanks to Stefano's hard work, we pulled it off! Stefano is more than a DJ, he's more than an Emcee, he really works hard to create a once in a lifetime event.

My husband and feel like we had a not just a vendor we hired, but a friend working hard to make our dreams a reality. We highly recommend Big Fun DJ's, especially Stefano Bortolin.

Henry Kim was so professional, courteous, accommodating, and organized before and during the wedding. He replied to my emails instantly and answered every detailed question I had. When we met up to finalize song list, he let us pick the time and place to meet. That was so convenient for us to meet after work at a Starbucks near us. I had a list of songs I wanted to play during the cocktail and dancing hours and it was no problem for him to play them--even songs not listed in the popular play list. Our song selection for the dance was mainly 1980s modern rock, alternative, and techno dance with a few country and pop songs.

We didn't have a coordinator but Henry was like our day of coordinator because he kept us within the time line and made the announcements for us. Guests commented on how wonderful he was in organizing the announcements. Even our photographer(Todd Rafalovich) complimented on Henry's professionalism and how he always love working with Henry. Oh, and Henry complimented the photographer on a separate occasion.

Big Fun was on the Thomas Fogarty Winery preferred DJ list. We had to pick from the list and was so glad we chose him. He also does not accept any deposit and you can cancel anytime without penalty. However he is obligated for your date. Isn't that great? Payment is only after the wedding. Another highly recommeneded vendor!

Paid $845 for four hours of music.

Would I recommend Henry for your wedding? ABSOLUTELY! We had a blast on our wedding and Henry made it possible for us to let go and enjoy our big day.

He's impressive from my 1st email inquiry, to the day we met to interview him, to the weeks leading up to our wedding and he delivered on our wedding reception itself. Henry is very organized, he kept us informed on what's coming up. He coordinated everything from the introduction of the bridal party (even asked how to pronounce everyone's name and gave everyone instructions on when to come in), to all the speeches, and the dances. I even asked him to make sure that everybody got champagne before the toasts and he complied and informed our catering manager. Our videgrapher and photgrapher were impressed with Henry - I can tell how he made everybody's job easy and he worked well with all of them.

He is a professional MC - made the announcements when he needed to. We were very particular with this, we didn't want someone to take center stage and promote themselves. Henry made sure it was all about me and my husband that night. My cousin surprised us with a song and Henry worked with her on when it was appropriate to do it.

If we have to do it over again and again and again - we will have no other choice for a DJ but Henry Kim!

Henry was great! Super responsive and really listened to what our music needs were. He met with FI and I separately so he could talk to us individually about our music tastes. He helped run the timeline and communicated well with my DOC and caterer to make sure we were on schedule. He also kept the dance floor full of people!

After the DJ we originally booked for our wedding cancelled on us (and refused to give all our deposit back) we were pretty nervous about booking another DJ.

Then I came across the reviews on Big Fun. Everyone was raving about them, so I decided to send an email. I got a prompt response from Henry Kim, who actually payed our way to interview them at a local Bridal Fair! This way, he said, we could also enjoy the free cake samples. :) The fair was a lot of fun, and we met PAUL BURCHFIELD from Big Fun, and interviewed him a bit to see if he had what it took. We hit it off right from the start! After prior iffy meetings with other DJ companies and even one at the fair, we were hooked in the first 5 minutes! Paul completely understood everything we were looking for. We booked him right away for both our ceremony and reception.

He was willing to visit us near our home for every meeting, kept in touch with multiple emails and even took a last minute detour from his day to stop by and grab the DVD slide-show we made.

The day of our wedding was amazing. Paul was fantastic! Everyone kept coming up to us saying how great he was and mentioning the perfect voice he had when he made announcements. The dance floor was always filled, he let us completely customise the music to us, he payed close attention to any play/do not play list we provided - and bought the songs he didn't already have!

Really, I cannot say enough good about Paul. If you are a bride (or groom) who is completely nervous about trusting a vendor this important for your wedding, you have found the right company. There's no need to interview elsewhere! I am so grateful to everything they did for us.

Plus you pay after! How can you beat that? Ok, enough with the mush. 10 stars. We definitely recommend them. :)

BIG FUN Djs were awesome!! They were EXTREMELY RESPONSIVE and sent the most informative emails! They also made working with them very easy!! At my initial meeting with our DJ Stefano, we were able to share our ideas for music and plan some playlist ideas. On the wedding day were supposed to have ceremony muscians play for us, who at the very last minute chose not to, due to heat. As disappointing as this was for us, Stefano stepped right in and saved the day! He worked hard to organize our ceremony music at the last minute and our guests never knew of the snafu only 10 minutes before our ceremony!

A BIG thank you to the entire team! We were thrilled!

I highly recommend the DJ services of Dig fun Disc Jockeys by Henery - He came highly recommended and we can see why! very professional, friendly and competent. he has been in the business for a long time and our vendors were pleased we were using him as well. We highly recommend his company.

I just attended a the wedding of one my BM's and they hired BF DJ. Everyone had a great time! The music was just the right volume, sounded great! The toasts were crisp and clear and audible. The one thing I noticed was that the DJ Henry was not overwhelming or instrusive. He didn't make himself the attraction but rather announced things and kept the music playing. Makes me almost wish we hired him but our DJ was great as well.

I highly recommend Henry. Henry was great to work with. He provided us with ceremony mics/speakers, introduced the wedding party (with some of it in Korean at our request), lunch reception background music, and slide show. We paid $900 and didn't have to pay anything in advance to reserve him.

Henry was extremely prompt in responding to questions and paid a lot of attention to our detailed instructions and followed them to a tee. He wasn't cheesy like some DJs and has good sense. For example, he would glance at us during our lunch reception every now and then to check that we liked the volume, etc.

Our DJ was fun to work with, he worked with the guest and played music according to what they like, to get the party going...

Henry was awesome! He is responsive, organized and listend to what our music need were. He was like our coordinator. He kept us within the time line and made all the announcements for us. We are very glad that we chose him.

If you are looking for a DJ that is extremely professional and competent, look no further. We hired them for our reception and could not be happier with the service they provided. We worked with Henry and found him to be so knowledgeable about receptions! When we met with him and asked him advice about the ordering of reception events, he gave us his expert opinion to ensure that our guests would be entertained the whole time. (There's nothing worse than a wedding reception that drags!) Everyone told us afterwards how much fun they had and how smoothly things flowed during the reception. We owe so much of our wedding success to Henry and Big Fun DJs.

We are forever grateful to DJ Henry Kim for all he did to make our June 2008 wedding an unforgettable event, from the time the first guest got seated to when the last one left. His timing and ability to incorporate our music selections with his own just made every key moment even more special. He even got my husband’s 80-year-old grandmother, and both our parents, on to the dance floor – no small feat! Everyone had such a great time. We were worried at first because almost half the guests were family, and being of conservative Chinese descent, they were not likely to participate in or enjoy the dancing at Western style reception. But Henry found just the right sounds and vibes to get everyone up and moving.

We’re still getting compliments on how smoothly the whole evening ran – a testament to Henry’s professionalism, from making the key announcements in the clearest and most reassuring way possible, to remembering all the little details, and to coordinating the entire reception schedule with our venue manager, caterer and photographer, so that we didn’t have to. With DJ Henry in charge, all the worst-possible-moments that we have witnessed at other weddings did not occur:

• The evening was not punctuated by awkward silences at which point it became painfully obvious that *something* was supposed to happen and yet no one quite knew what or when;
• Henry did not end announcements or special song dedications with a cheesy “… and thanks for choosing Big Fun DJs, remember us for your next event!”;
• Henry did not play the Macarena, Chicken Dance, Electric Slide, YMCA, or start any conga lines;
• Henry did not project a loud, obnoxious, over-the-top game-show host personality who likes to hear himself talk and single out guests to get up on the dance floor to do silly routines to win applause and glow-stick “prizes”, nor did he engage guests in any other sideshow antics or cheesy wedding “traditions” in an attempt to entertain.

If you want high energy interaction and a schmoozy DJ to entertain a large and predominantly young crowd, look elsewhere. But we were aiming for an elegant, classy and intimate wedding with 80 guests, and DJ Henry fit our bill perfectly.

A few other prospective DJs we contacted automatically sent us daily emails or calls pressuring us to set up a free consultation or to make a decision. DJ Henry did not do that; his approach was respectful of our privacy and time, and his attitude was very helpful and understanding. As we got closer to the event, Henry sent us a few polite but very detailed reminders of items still to be completed (whether we wanted to allot time for additional speeches, in which order, when to schedule the first dress change, song selection for parents’ dance, etc.) He stayed, and helped us stay, on the ball the entire time.

Overall, we feel Henry is a very friendly and experienced DJ who listens deeply to what his clients want and is knowledgeable with all music formats. He was also very quick with email replies, and accommodated us by meeting at a Starbucks 5 min from our home (whereas his office is about 45 min away), after work one night, to go over the timeline and song selections. Compared with others, I think he charges a little below average – making his grade A service an even better value.

Henery was very professional! He adapted the music perfectly. He was reliable and very helpful. He helped us made the announcements the entire night! great guy to work with!

Woody and Big fun DJ s - The Best DJ s in the land. No kidding. Folks shouldn't make the mistake of going with any other DJ in the area. These guys made our wedding more fun than we could have ever imagined (and we imagined a considerably fun party). Seriously, we gave Woody only one request - we wanted a wedding where our guests were dancing the entire night. Only the pictures and memories we now have of our reception could truly describe how much fun our party was on March 14th this year. In all honesty, the hotel had to drag woody from behind the DJ stand at the end of the night, as 45 folks- ages 30 to 72 - were still dancing at 12:08 a.m. (eight minutes after the Hotel insisted that we turn the music off -- we had given Woody permission to keep playing, but don't tell the hotel). No kidding, the dance floor was full of people dancing when the lights came on at the end of the night. We couldn't have asked for anything more. The music was well timed, Woody immediately assessed the crowd, and played exactly what was right for the different moments in the evening to ensure fun was maximized throughout the reception. When we get pictures back we will attach a few for you all to see - they will show folks, dancing and laughing and having a great time - they would show folks, dancing and laughing and having a great time. Thanks to Woody and the Big Fun DJ guys. Most excellent job guys. We are so thankful. These guys are the best.

We can't say enough how much we loved Big Fun DJ for our wedding--we absolutely loved them! Paul Birchfield was our DJ, and both he and Henry Kim were fantastic throughout the whole process. We got so many comments from friends and family at how much they loved the music and dancing. Here are a couple of highlights:

--They were extremely prompt and professional in all communication, and made everything as easy as could be for us, with no pressure.
--We were very picky about music. Paul sat down with us, really got a sense of our likes and dislikes, and delivered exactly what we wanted.
--Paul even cut some songs for us to fit the timing, where we wanted the chorus, etc, and gave us the burned CD afterward.
--There was an accident during the room set-up (not involving the DJ), and Paul just went right over to help out (I heard about this later--just an example of his professionalism as a team player)
--Paul struck a perfect balance between getting the party going and not doing too much
talking on the mic
--The sound set-up during the ceremony was perfect.
--Paul gave us everything we asked for on the music, then used his knowledge of our preferences to fill in other details on the fly expertly.
--I was hesitant on the lights, but they ended up being a huge hit.

All in all, one of our absolute best vendors!

BIG FUN DJs were a critical, key, special and FUN part of my wedding. Our BIG FUN DJ Paul went above and beyond the call of duty.....he spent a tremendous amount of time helping me find THE perfect music for our ceremony. He met with us beforehand and listened to all of the things we wanted, didn't want and very much stuck to that at the wedding. Paul put a great deal of effort in crafting very personal introductions for the wedding party - and selected the perfect songs to go with those introductions. And once the dancing got going - Paul made sure that the dance floor was always full. I have had nothing but compliments on how perfect the music and Paul were that night. You will be very happy if you can have BIG FUN DJs (and especially Paul) at your wedding!

Our DJ Paul Burchfield with Big Fun really made our wedding day ours. From our very first meeting with him to the last moment we saw him the day of, he made our day perfect. He took every single song that we checked on his song list that we love, and created a truly customized soundtrack for our wedding day. He even bought songs that we wanted played if Big Fun didn't have them in their collection. We chose not to have dance floor lights but they do have them if you want. I cannot say enough about Paul. The moment I met him I knew that we were making the right decision by choosing him as our DJ, and I really just can't even explain how wonderful he was. His communication, creativity, and timeliness were perfect through and through. Choose him. No joke. You absolutely will not regret it.

Woody Miraglia was absolutely fantastic! We honestly couldn't have imagined a better DJ. We used BIG FUN for our entire day - everything from pre-ceremony music through the ceremony, cocktail reception, dinner and into the small hours of the morning. Woody adapted the music and mood perfectly through the different events.

BEFORE THE DAY - invaluable advice and experience... Woody's first principle is that it's YOUR day and he'll support anything you'd like. In our case a few rather eclectic music additions from Switzerland and Ohio! At the same time, Woody will always warn you when he sees a combination or song that might not quite work, e.g. perhaps too obscure to get people on the dancefloor. And he has tons of experience for how everything fits in with the full schedule for the day. Woody made sure that we scheduled a perfectly non-rushed planning meeting a month beforehand to work through specifics and understand our music preferences.

ON THE DAY - reliable, discrete and absolutely professional... Woody arrived in Healdsburg several hours ahead of the event for set up. He was fantastic at collaborating with our other vendors, so we really didn't have to worry about anything. He coordinated event transitions, placed a wireless mic on Matt, set up speakers where needed (even when unfamiliar with our venue), and provided flawless sound throughout. Our music was perfectly timed and adjusted for the speed of our ceremony. And Woody was invaluable to the last minute in helping with the ordering of toasts and sound logistics to have them flow smoothly.

INTO THE NIGHT - an absolute blast... the lights were AMAZING (even though I had initial hesitations about using them. Woody was patient as I back-and-forthed on the decision before going with the lights and absolutely LOVED them on the night. We had the dancefloor packed all night. Woody responded to all kinds of last minute requests and helped to provide fun special intros.
