Bill Hansen Catering

I wish I could say we had a good experience with Bill Hansen catering but we did not. Originally they seemed great, until we signed the contract. Then the service took a serious turn for the worst. Some examples:
- very delayed or no response to emails. Our contact person's email signature said "please allow a 48 hour response to emails." But even that TWO DAY turn-around on emails wasn't always met.
- We set up the tasting over a month in advance and informed them of the number of people that would be attending. Then the DAY before the tasting we were told there would be an extra charge due to the number of people. They should have told us this when we originally booked it, not after we invited our parents.
- at the first tasting the food was served to us literally cold. Additionally the meat was not cooked how it was going to be cooked at the actual wedding. We were confused and explained that we thought the point of the tasting was to see how the food would be served and prepared the day-of the event. Our sales contact acknowledged the cook may have been overwhelmed. But she then proceeded to charge us when we asked for a 2nd tasting to actually taste the food as it would be served.
- My husband is garlic sensitive so we tweaked some of their recipes to not include garlic. They explained that the food would all be cooked to our taste. Well, at the wedding, one of the sides was FULL of garlic unlike how it was at the tastings.
- after our on-sight meeting where we decided many of the logistics, the revised proposal came back not reflecting many of the changes we had discussed. It was as if our sales contact had not been there.
UPDATE: Upon writing this review, Bill Hansen contacted me himself. After hearing our complaints he offered us a $1,000 refund and also explained how they will improve various aspects going forward with other clients. Because of that I have increased my ratings. The food was delicious which is hard to do at a wedding. The were very nice and made sure everything was perfect.

Bill Hansen's catering was wonderful to work with throughout the whole planning process. The food was good and the service was excellent. Any problems that arose during the wedding were quickly handled. I was somewhat disappointed with the overall decor/set up of the reception (dinner station tables and cocktail tables).

Everything was perfect! The food was excellent. We opted to have a buffet for 120 people. I wasn't sure it could be done, but it was perfect.

The Villa Woodbine was absolutely gorgeous. The lights in the trees, the peacock, dancing in the loggia. What a magical place! I hope someone I know gets married there so I can go...

The food is amazing from the appetizers during cocktail hour to the dinner service. The vegetarians loved their meals as well as the kids. If you want yummy food that will please the fussiest of eaters go with Bill Hansen, you won't be disappointed.

It almost seems like a secret... but Bill Hansen Catering (phenomenal caterer) has its own spectacular venue... The Historic Villa Woodbine, where his catering expertise evolves its a heavenly wedding experience at one of the most beautiful venues in South Florida.

Food - A+++ - My husband works in the food industry, so he knows good food and had set pretty high expectations for our wedding meal. He wanted a 5-star food experience and would not accept "wedding food" at our wedding. Honestly, they exceeded our expectations... the meal was beautifully presented and more importantly, tasted delicious, (even by my husband's picky standards). Our guests were really impressed and that's always a great feeling.

Service - A+++ - My glass was always filled with champagne without even having to ask. Isn't that wonderful? Everything was taken care of in such a polite, "we are here for you; you are our guest" demeanor, that we had a fabulous time without a care in the world!

Team - A+++ - You can't ask to feel anymore cared for... Bill, Adam, Janet, and (another wonderful, jolly gentleman who he took care of things the day of) are wonderful people. PERSONAL SERVICE is the motto that they live and work by. Adam was extremely helpful and responsive, even when I frantically emailed him at 8pm days before the wedding - I'd get a reassuring email back within minutes. Incredible!

They should have 10 stars for value! They really deliver above and beyond!

When we first met Bill Hansen we had no idea who he was. He was so funny and charming and when we found out who he was we couldnt believe how down to earth and awesome he was. His staff is polite and on point. People are still talking about the food at our wedding. I've gotten so many comments from people saying how the food at weddings is normally not very good and they couldnt believe how good the food was. The servers and bartenders were great. I especially loved the buffet. They bring out stuff in small portions so that everything is always fresh.

The caterers were able to make my menu exactly what I wanted and what my guests would like. They had a tasting which allowed us to get a preview of what we would be having. They also had a very professional staff who made it so we did not have to worry about a thing the night of the wedding, on which my husband and i were able to really enjoy ourselves!

Well our pre-wedding luncheon that they hosted was great!! On our wedding day, my husband and I had some appetizers which were delicious but we didn't get to eat because we were just too busy dancing and having a great time. Our guest did let us know the food was excellent though! ;)

Bill & his team did an amazing job @ my wedding especially since my date changed last minute. They worked directly w/ my planner & understood the situation that we were in. Their food presentation was amazing & their staff was excellent to work with.

Our wedding reception was held at Bill Hansen's Villa Woodbine. Our guests have still not stopped raving about the food. The folks at Villa Woodbine were extremely easy to work with, and since I was planning the wedding remotely I definitely needed people who would be responsive and willing to be flexible. They were able to design a menu for us to meet our budget and were willing to rise to the culinary challenge of including Peruvian touches that I wanted. Their team is definitely expert and thought of every little detail that I had overlooked. I highly highly recommend Bill Hansen.

I LOVED MY CATERER. Everyone was great, on time, professional and helpful. The food was incredible... I come from Italian parents and to us it was very important to have a good meal... Bill Hansen gave us an extraordinary dinner... my dad was very pleased and I must say that is really hard to achieve. Nicole and Sheanile were awesome, and Janet is my wedding mom, so sweet! If I could give more stars I will :)
The most important things in a wedding: Good food and good music :)

I loved working with Bill Hansen Catering - they are a team of exceptional professionals with years of experience. They took care of everything: venue location, rentals, valet, catering, staffing. The villa is absolutely stunning and I was able to get ready in one of their rooms upstairs. Janet and Nicole are fantastic to work with, they are extremely sweet and guided me every step of the way. The food was great! I highly recommend them to anyone, regardless of your venue.

Janet, Nicole and Bill were all very pleasant and easy to work with. We rented their location, Villa Woodbine, for the wedding, and had the food served by Bill Hansen Catering. Every detail was covered by them, and they worked well within our budget to fit in all our needs. The location was beautiful and the food was great. Our menu options were all great, making it difficult to choose just a few items for the menu! The presentation was great and all our guests raved about how good the meals were. Villa Woodbine is a beautiful location, and the staff was great at accomodating all our wishes. Would definitely recommend them to friends.
