The location was quaint and beautiful and the staff was very helpful in assisting with all of the insanity that is involved with planning even the simplest wedding. The day itself went by so fast I felt like I wasn't even there and without the wonderful and helpful staff at The Bird's Nest, this event would never have happened so smoothly. They were wonderful!

We had the most wonderful, fun wedding at the Bird's Nest! Monica Cowsert, the owner, was so helpful--she suggested a DJ and photograher that were terrific too. Her staff person who helped with everything on the day of the ceremony took care of all the details. The venue is a lovely old house, decorated western style. My husband and I fell in love with the place the first time we saw it. I was so happy with our Bird's Nest wedding and would definitely use the venue again when the need arises. I truly can't reccomend it highly enough for any smaller (under 50 people) gathering.

About Bird's Nest
The Bird's Nest is a quaint and relaxing place to celebrate with family and friends. Your event can be indoors with a roaring fire, surrounded by antiques and listening to the
little finches - and can spill out onto our covered deck and the lawn beyond. There is a barn for the kids where you can set up coloring and crafts, and there are trees to climb. We allow outside catering, or can help
with those arrangements. Most "extras" are included in our low price so there is little decorating that is needed. Just grab your groom and head our way! We specialize in making memories...

Are there any special characteristics about this venue such as scenery or architecture?
The Bird's Nest is very laid back by nature, and is beautiful indoors as well as outdoors.There is a little barn that kids take over during celebrations, old galvanized tubs to ice down your drinks, an amazing fireplace for the colder days, a covered deck that looks out onto several acres of trees. There is a stone path leading to the gazebo where many knots have been tied!!!
How does your venue determine the cost of the space?
Because of our size, the number of guests is limited to around 50 give or take. Most weddings take place outside - but on the chance of rain...we want you to all fit indoors. The benefit to this is that our cost is not so high...and it's all yours when you are hosting your wedding.
Do you offer any special services?
We are a small facility, in a small town, and run by easy-going people. Because we want your day to be just that...Your Day...we let you take charge. If you want help setting up, we can do that. If you want us to take over getting your flowers, cake and decor - we put you in touch with people that work at the Bird's Nest often, and do so very inexpensively.
Do you offer any special packages for rehearsal dinners?
We really don't do that - but because our prices are so low, many opt to book for several nights and do it on their own.
Do you offer additional items for the ceremony?
We have many decorations around the place and in our storage building that people use. Most are antiques - but not fancy! Of course the inside is filled with tables and chairs, and there are also some for outside.
Do you rent other items such as linens, tables, or flatware?
Our dishes, flatware, wine glasses and some serving pieces are included in the price - but not linens.We also have 50 white garden chairs and some tables for you to use as well.
What is your staff-to-guest ratio?
We always have one person on hand for our parties, weddings, and showers. She will help with everything from parking, doing dishes, trash, and whatever seems to come up. It's very helpful.
Do you require clients to use a specific list of vendors?
We do not.
Do you require the client to use your musicians? If you do not require this, is that an additional fee to bring in one's own musicians?
We do not.
Do you have any special side rooms that can be rented out for the occasion?
No.
Can the client provide their own alcohol if desired?
Beer, wine and champagne may be served - and the hosts' are required to be responsible for their guests.

Enough.

I think it would be typical restrictions, but no holes in the walls or tape to hold pictures up. This is covered in our contract and there are some more, but it is not extensive.

Outdoor music needs to be reduced around 11pm to be mindful of neighbors.

They are a must...clothes that is.

We have a sound system that you can use with an ipod and it has portable speakers and also outdoor hidden speakers and it is fine. If you use a DJ or have a band, sometimes we ask that the sound be lowered around 11pm.

We offer a weekday wedding package that is Monday - Thursday in the morning and early afternoon only - for just $500. Included in this price is cake and punch (or coffee), the photographer,and is geared for 2-12 guests. You just bring your flowers and minister, and we do the rest.
