First let me say the flowers were absolutely gorgeous! I could not be happier with the finished product. However, it was difficult to get in touch with this vendor and when we did meet or talked it felt as if we were a burden! I think Black Iris does beautiful work but the customer service needs to be improved.

Black Iris did an absolutely beautiful job on our wedding decor and floral. We could not have been happier with the end result. Response time and friendliness definitely could've been better, but at the same time, we did understand that our florist was extremely busy and does several events a month. They were never unprofessional with us, unlike one of our other vendors. As far as product, everything that Black Iris did was incredibly beautiful and exactly what we wanted. I am still getting compliments! Highly recommend.

Black Iris Floral Events was recommended to me by my wedding coordinator. The flowers and decor for my wedding were beautiful. The wedding guests commented on how beautiful everything was. There were a few issues on the day of the wedding which added to the stress. Although we had discussed having a few flowers on the cake, there were no flowers. In addition, the boutonniere for the best man was a wilted/dying white gerbera daisy. Luckily, there was an extra boutonniere with a different flower that the best man ended up wearing. Overall, the decor and flowers were beautiful despite a few mishaps.

I was mariied at the Yacht club at Marina Shores and black iris was their preferred vendor. This is didfficult sometimes because you are not sure what you are going to get. However, when I saw my flowers I almost cried they were so beautiful and I had a lot. From the 9 Bridesmaids to the 16 tables in the venue they did an amazing job. My theme was old Hollywood and they added crystals and pearls to my bouquet and feathers and pearls in all Candleabra centerpieces was it like the Copa Cabbana, truly breath taking. I had compliments all night and they also did the lighting for the room which set the mood perfectly. The only negative would be that they are busy they have a lot of weddings and I'm pretty type A, so not getting immediate responses was hard for me and I didn't get to finalize everything until the the week of the wedding which now I can see was probably for the best because you do change your mind a lot:)

I don't know how they do it . My vision was exactly what Todd & Jason did for us! We can not thank you enough. Even my mother was impressed with the way the ceremony and reception came out.

All I have to say is my flowers were FABULOUS! Everything was so pretty! Todd really brought my dreams to life. The linens and center pieces were beautiful!

Black Iris provided very nice flowers for my wedding day. The bouquets were what I had hoped for (although, sadly they were browning by the ceremony time) and the table centerpieces set the romantic tone that I was looking for (we had pink hydrageanas with white lanterns). Overall, I felt that the flowers were just what I was looking for. My dissatisfaction stems from the service I felt that I received. During my initial meeting, I didn't feel that Todd was very helpful and was in a hurry for me to decide on what flowers I wanted, instead of providing guidance in my decision. I attempted to meet with him and he appeared annoyed with my concerns. Also, the package offered does not include personal flowers (although a discount is offered) and I felt I was left with no choice but to overpay for my centerpieces (the same price one would pay for a full flower centerpiece - there is no variation in price for what kind of flowers either). Black Iris does absolute beautiful work and I was very pleased with what I was given on my wedding day, I just wish the service would have been friendlier.

He was very helpful through the whole planning process, and did a great job making the vision of my day come to life. Our bouquets were over the top gorgeous and the colors were so vibrant! AMAZING!!!!! I'm not a "bride " type of girl...I didn't have a book or even a clue of what I wanted, I knew what colors I liked and thats about it! Todd and his crew were amazing and they created the most romantic and glamorous Hollywood style look that I wanted. The flowers were beautiful and fresh. He stayed for a long time and was there at the end to make sure the rented pieces didn't disappear costing me money. They were nothing short of professional and did a fantastic job creating something for a buy bride without the time or energy to decide for herself!!!They come so highly recommended!

I was so pleased when I walked into the room for my reception . Everything was above and beyond what I talked to Todd about. Todd is so funny he will make you laugh and really knows how to bring it together . The ceremony was so beautiful all the special roses and amaryllis I wanted he got I was so happy. My mom and I cried when we saw everything. I will tell my friends about you!

Todd and Jason from Black Iris handled both the flowers and decor for my wedding, and they exceeded my expectations on all accounts! I've really never seen such beautiful flowers and even my guests made comments on how lovely the centerpieces were. It was easy for them to figure out my 'style' and translate that into an amazing creation for us at the reception. I really think they went over the top and did more than we ever expected. We would highly recommend them!

Wow! What can I SAY, AMAZING , BEAUTIFUL, OFF THE CHARTS GORGOUS . IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT I HAD DREAMED. I Just showed Todd and Jason a Piacture and it was exactly what I wanted. The flowers where so fresh . My bouquet was off the charts and my mother was blown away that we had stayed in budget and gotten exactly what we wanted I told Todd not one cent over $4,500. and hey got it to 4250. with the lighting. Thanks for the memories .

I would recommend Black Iris to other brides, and I was overall pleased with the final outcome on our wedding day. There were, however, a few things I was not happy with. When I first met Todd 14 months before our wedding, I was excited with how the consultation went. He immediately understood my vision and was able to suggest many great ideas. The overall design of the flowers was vintage with a garden feel, and they turned out beautifully. I rented my table linens through Black Iris also, and when the wedding day came, I wished I hadn't. The tablecloths provided weren't exactly the shade I was looking for, and a couple of them were even stained (large, visible stains that you could see from 10 feet away) and were still put out on our guests' tables. I had asked my wedding coordinator to talk to Todd about the issue and have it fixed, but during the chaos of the day, I never remembered to check to see if it had been corrected. I had paid Black Iris an extra $1000 for fabric to be draped from the ceiling of the tent, and thought that was something that would be put up the day before the wedding. Instead, when I first viewed the tent, it looked as if it had been hanging there for at least a week, and I say this because there were dozens - if not hundreds - of dead bugs sitting in the fabric. Gross! I didn't want that hanging over my guests' heads, but what could I do? At least I can say if my $1000 wasn't spent there, then it looks like the value may have been made up in the amount of flowers that were used in the ceremony and reception - there were blooms in our wedding colors scattered around, providing that final extra touch. The lighting that we also ordered turned out great. The centerpieces were gorgeous and exactly what I wanted! Todd even ordered in the vintage and rustic watering cans they were displayed in and they were beautiful! Sadly, I loved the centerpieces more than the bouquets. I was disappointed with my bouquet because it was more simple than I had wanted and discussed with Todd. I had sent him the same image twice to convey what I was going for, but I didn't get to see my bouquet until it was put in my hands before I walked down the aisle. It had 3 of the flowers I had wanted and was in our wedding colors, but sadly was lacking everything else I had wanted. Overall, they did a fantastic job, but I wish a few of these things could have been corrected.

Todd brought our beach wedding visions to life! The flowers were beautiful, the roses smelled amazing for days after & everyone commented on how gorgeous everything looked.

Todd produced the most beautiful flowers I've ever seen for my wedding! He is such a talented designer, and even helped design the table settings and general color scheme of the wedding. He exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend him!

Was very impressed with Black Iris Floral! Todd went above and beyond my expectations!!! The flowers were absolutely breath taking!

I agree with the last review. I would not recommend using Black Iris. He was part of a package that was with the venue that we used and if I knew what kind of service I was getting I would have taken him out of the package. We had a difficult time getting a hold of him through out the planning, he didn't read my emails because if he had, he would have seen that I wanted brown ribbon on my bouquets and different vases than the ones he used. I also requested Jade Green roses and when I saw the bouquet, most of the roses looked yellow and no where in my wedding colors did I have yellow. The other issue was the table linen. The brown and mint green were perfect but the table cloths were ivory like the ribbons on the flowers and I had no ivory in my wedding colors as well. The two times that we actually met him and my maid of honor spoke to him he was very cold towards us and rude. I would have gone with someone else if I could do it again.

Black Iris Floral Event staff did an amazing job with our daughter Amber's wedding. We where so amazed with the flowers it just made everyone so happy. Everyone came to me to find out where we got the flowers and linens came from. Black Iris did everything from invitations , linens, lighting, and flowers. Todd does amazing work! His designs for our wedding were over the top, and so many people commented on how beautiful the flowers were! He was easy to work with and really listened to my vision for the wedding. Then he took my ideas and made them into something I never could have imagined. We highly recommend him and could not have been happier with his results!

Todd and his team went over the top to make the most beautiful floral display at my wedding! So many of the guests commented that it was the most beautiful they had ever seen. My bouquet was so fresh and colorful, as were the ones for my bridesmaids. My groom even commented on how modern the boutonnieres were. Todd went above and beyond what was required by a florist, and actually helped keep some of the other vendors on track. He also provided the linens and up-lighting for the room. I will definitely refer all my friends getting married to him in the future!

Todd was extremely helpful and attentive to details. We had a small budget for our flowers but he worked with us and made our reception and wedding flowers beautiful. We loved everything he did for us!!!

Todd and his crew put together beautiful arrangements for the ceremony and reception areas as well as the boquets and other personal flowers. Only thing missing was the toss boquet. Arrangements were perfect for the location and venue. Thanks Todd.

Todd was great! Very professional, "gets" what your view of your perfect flowers should be and he surprised me with our centerpieces at my wedding! We had the MOST compliments on the center pieces than anything else at our wedding... I highly recommend Black Iris :)

After reading the previous reviews I feel like I must have worked with Todd's alter ego. He was extremely hard to get in touch with, hardly ever responding to my emails and phone calls. He would say he was going to do certain things and then I would never hear from him. He ordered flowers for me without my permission. I never could get a firm contract out of him, and ended up getting flowers that were nothing like we discussed. I ended up purchasing my own vases because he said he would look for vases I could purchase and never did. My reception flowers looked like grocery store flower arrangements, definitely not worth the money. I definitely would not recommend.

Todd and his team did an incredible job for our wedding in Cape Charles, VA. I gave Todd a few pictures that I liked in the beginning stages, and he really used his creativity to make the venue shine. The centerpieces at our reception were absolutely stunning, as were the other arrangements that he placed around the
bar, cake table, etc. The ceremony arrangements were showstoppers. Our bridal party bouquets and bouttenieres were perfect. Todd was there with his team bright and early to set up, and he even took care of the beautiful pintuck linens for us. He also took the liberty of placing little lanterns on the outdoor tables to make them more inviting. He really paid attention to the little details, and it didn't go unnoticed. Everyone that attended gave us so many compliments on how beautiful our wedding and reception were, and I think that Todd had a huge hand in making our wedding exceed our expectations! I would recommend him to anyone.

Todd did a great job on the floral arrangements, especially the bouquets-they were gorgeous!! He also provided lighting which enhanced the decor and mood of the ceremony and reception rooms. He is well connected and and assisted me with getting linens for my wedding as well. I would recommend his services for weddings or other events.

My wedding was a dream. The flowers, lighting, and decorations were more beautiful than I could have imagined. I enjoyed working with Black Iris and Todd on my wedding very much. I had originally had another florist but after sitting down and talking to Todd, I switched. Their flower arrangements were gorgeous, I had calla lillies and roses for my bouquets and everything was fresh and beautiful. They were there early and promptly began setting up. The linens we ordered were a perfect match to our colors and the candy bar table set up was stunning. Everyone complimented us on it! Thanks Guys for such a wonderful job!!!

I chose Black Iris to do a candy bar for me that I had seen at a wedding show. After discussing that, he wanted to know about my flowers. I already had someone picked out but they beat the price and did a way better job I might add. I was in shock at how beautiful the flowers turned out. It made me cry. Way better than I pictured. The candy bar was a hit and they even shifted the menu last second when the weather turned hot to avoid any mishaps (we originally had a lot of chocolate, but I'm grateful because it would have been a mess). They also provided our table linens which fit into our color scheme flawlessly. I am so glad we saw that candy bar because the whole experience improved my wedding day!

Black Iris is THE only florist to go to! Todd and his team are awesome and know what they are doing! The flowers were gorgeous! And not only do they do flowers, they do linens, lights, invites and candy buffet's!! We decided to go ahead and go with the candy buffet for our favors. It was beautiful! I received so many compliments on that. In fact, I got so many compliments on how beautiful Black Iris had made the room look.

My fiance stumbled upon Black Iris on a whim. What a pleasant surprise! Todd's floral creations for my wedding were so gorgeous and fragrant too. Our guests raved about the stunning appearance of the bridal party flowers. I met Todd thinking I wanted certain flowers looking a certain way, but he convinced me otherwise (to my initial hesitation). Boy, am I glad I trusted Todd's vision and creative genius. He knows what he's talking about!! My mother took a couple of leftover arrangements with her to work the following week, where my wedding flowers continued to get many praises! I would highly recommend Black Iris Floral Events for your wedding or any other celebration/event. They were amazing, so patient and listened to exactly want I wanted for my wedding. I was so happy with the results and still get complements from my friends and family on the flowers from my reception.

The flowers for my wedding were beautiful! My only issue with the flowers was that there were carnations on my wedding cake and not roses when roses were used in the rest of the arrangements. It was still beautiful though. Also, I feel that the prices were a bit high for the centerpieces considering they only consisted of a vase, 3 roses and a candle each. I would recommend Black Iris to any Hampton Roads bride :)

Black Iris was FANTASTIC!!!! All around everyone who worked with Black Iris was amazing. The price was phenominal when the end product was produced. They were extremely flexible regarding any last minute wedding changes and they were very flexible on the day of the wedding when we had a few last minute issues. Nothing was left untouched or forgotten. I personally recieved many compliments from the venue itself regarding the turnout of our wedding flowers and decor. They had never seen such an amazing transformation. Black Iris exceeded my expectations down to the very last detail. Todd, the designer, had a vision that blew my mind. I couldn't wait to see it in all its glory. I can't stress enough how wonderful Black Iris is and I would recommend them to anyone. They take your ideas and make them happen. They really care about you and your day. I recieved multiple phone calls from them to keep me up to date with what they were planning and they really want you to get the biggest bang for your buck. I know everyone gets the initial sticker shock when quoted prices; but when it was all said and done-- I would have paid more. I got great quality work that was timely, flexible, absolutely stunning-- and everything looked like I paid more than I actually did. Black Iris has bride's best interests at heart-- they really want you to be happy with their work and trust that you hired the right people. We were so happy with the final product at the wedding that we asked them to stay and enjoy the night with us. I researched many vendors before meeting with Black Iris and got stressed at the fact that I had to contact so many people in the design and flower business to get what I wanted. When I meet with Todd from Black Iris he said he would take care of everything. Their company not only covers flowers and decor but everything in between. He said he was even available to help with the stress of the final day in making sure everyone was in their right places. I thought he was only going to be working with flowers and decor; but he covered everything; from flowers, candles, cake cascades, cake stands, table centerpieces, lighting during the reception and ceremony, votives, ice sculptures, table covers, chair covers, and he even took care of things that I didn't have time to stress about. His company even set up the venue. I really cannot recommend them enough-- you won't be dissapointed with anything. The best part about Black Iris is that they don't want you to waste your money. I was a bride with big visions and a small budget and Todd actually saved me money with his ideas. He suggested budget friendly design ideas and flower options that still looked expensive and beautiful but didn't hurt my budget. They really want you to be happy about your big day in the end and not be in debt when it's all said and done. I really can't thank them enough for being a huge part of the our big day. You won't be wasting your money or time working with these true professionals.

Todd was great to work with. I lived in a different city from where I was getting married and he took the responsibility and ran with it. It was nice to know that things were getting done even though I was not there. He is very knowledgable and knows a lot of people in the area. He made our dream wedding come true. Thank you Todd!

Did an absolutely amazing job for the money!!!! Everything was wonderful. I wasn't sure what I was going to end up with going into it, but let me tell you I was pleasantly surprised with all the flower arrangements - from the centerpieces to the bouquets. My only complaint was communication with the venue - the never told us where the vases were set up for the bridesmaid bouquets, and I didn't find them til the pictures. It would have been helpful if somebody had told us. Other than that, Todd is incredibly talented and I would recommend that anybody use him. He's the best value for the money, without a doubt.

The decorations were amazing. It almost didn't seem real because it was so nice. Something that nice is what you find in the movies.

Black Iris was a true life saver. Due to unfortunate circumstances, I was left searching for a new florist 2 weeks before my wedding date. The guys at Black Iris stepped right in to help and even met with me on a Sunday afternoon. The final result left me speechless. My bouquet was better than I could have imagined, it embodied all the aspects I described in our initial meeting. The ceremony/reception florals were AWESOME!
