We worked with Rick at Black Tie Events to DJ and emcee our wedding. He was so nice to work with! Honestly we walked in his office and said, "We don't even know what to ask. We want a nice mix of music for our event and someone who can feel out the crowd to keep them dancing." He walked us through exactly what he could do and how he asses the crowd to keep them happy. He got a feel for the music we like and don't like and built the perfect musical feel for our event. He was fantastic to wrk with as far as setting up the flow of the evening and special dances. After our first meeting he gave us paperwork so we could figure out what we wanted to include (father/daughter dance, bouquet toss, garter toss, etc.) and in what order to put things in. It really helped us get an idea as to what we wanted our event to feel like! We met with him again before the wedding to square up the details. He really put us at ease as to how our event would flow behind the scenes.
The day of the event Rick ran everything perfectly! He set up a mic for our officiant and helped mic the guitarist for our ceremony. He emceed the reception beautifully and played a perfect mix of music for the cocktail hour, dinner and then dancing that set the perfect tone of fun and classic that we were hoping for! We highly recommend Rick and Black Tie Events!

Our DJ had our guest dancing all night. Rick is very personable and got our guest going. My husband is Arabic and Rick was able to incorporate Arabic music into the reception. Even our non Arabic guests were having fun dancing. Rick also helps to create a wedding timeline of events which for me was great since I didn't know how to create one.

I booked BTE simply from comparing reviews online, and could not have been happier with them! Rich was very professional to work with. He helped make the planning process very easy. I had two separate DJ's, one for the ceremony and one for the reception. They both did a great job and were exactly what we wanted for our wedding day events!

We were very disappointed with Black tie events. We met with the DJ twice and were very specific to the music we wanted played, I even put together an artist list....not only was the wrong first dance song played (which he said was the same artist and song name I gave him, but I looked it up even after the wedding and only our song comes up..,,) but he played music that was meant for a much older crowd. We asked for top 40 pop and hip hop and I gave him a selection of 5 slow songs (all of our close friends first dance songs) and he didn't play any of them....but did manage to play frank sinatra...definitely not on our list. We felt like he met with us, told us he was going to do what we asked and then did his own thing. Very disappointing.

Working with Rick at Black Tie Events was such a great experience! I came into his office not knowing where to start when it came to ceremony music, he took the time to answer all my questions and guided my husband and I in the right direction. The music for the ceremony and reception was perfect, everyone danced the night away!

Rick knows how to get the party started and how to keep it going. He was extremely professional and great to work with. His assistant Kris is also a pleasure to work with and she makes you feel at home when you visit the office (she even gave me ice cream!). Rick also worked really well with my wedding planner and helped her coordinate the day of. Thanks Rick for making our wedding reception a night to remember!

Rick was extremely professional. He played all the music that we choose and more. Rick helped us with the process of choosing songs and made our ballroom look beautiful with his professional lighting. We met twice to discuss details and were very pleased with everything. He was also a great mc! I would recommend him for any wedding!

LOVED THEM! Rick was our DJ, he was funny and understood our laid back style towards the wedding. He played a great varity of music and everyone had a blast.
