The most upseting factor was that my ceremony flowers were very late! My ceremony was to start at 3, so I requested the flowers be there by 2:30. The flowers did not show up until 3:20. The delivery lady stated that there was an accident but the direction she was traveling from was opposite from the shop. I guess they use outside vendors to do their work? She was surprised that everyone was upset with her being late! She could have attempted to contact me or the chapel. When I attempted to contact the florist, there was no answer or service to transfer me. If you run a business, you should be available. The reception flowers were delivered that morning at 10:30...which makes no sense why the wedding flowers were late??
When I notified the owner afterwards, he reassured me that this was not their "typical" service, however, he didn't offer to "minimize" the situation in anyway.
On a positive note, I will say that the ceremony and reception flower arrangements were beautiful and I was very pleased with how the place looked when I arrived! I would consider recommending this vendor, however, I would share my personal experience.

Michael and his team were absolutely FANTASTIC!!! From the first meeting/interview it was a perfect fit! He was extremely detail oriented and made sure that I wanted was executed. The suggestions that he gave were also fantastic. I really enjoyed working with him because he was not pushy! He knew EXACTLY what I wanted and made my vision come to life. There is no other way to say it other than “he got me”.
The day of my wedding I was excited to get to see my flowers. My bouquet was BEAUTIFUL; it was exactly what I wanted. From the get-go I was very concerned about the base of my bouquet being too big and I expressed my concern to Michael. When I walked into the church the afternoon of my wedding I was amazed at how many flowers I had in my bouquet and the base was perfect! The flowers that Michael and his team uses are the freshest of the fresh and smell amazing, the entire ballroom smelled like hydrangeas when we walked in to see our sneak peak of our room.
Last minute we ended up having a smaller amount of tables due to people cancelling last minute and Michael found creative ways to use the centerpieces to decorate the rest of the ballroom.
Everyone that was at our wedding talked about the flowers and asked what florist we used. They were all very impressed with the quality and volume of the flowers and how they looked on the pews at the church, cocktail tables, cake tables and dinner tables. Michael and his team promised me everything would be perfect and IT WAS! It was very clear that they took the time and the end result was FABULOUS!

Michael, the owner of Blooms, is the consumate professional. Everything from our first meeting through today has been pleasant, easy and gorgeous. Wedding planning is stressful enough! Michael has the best personality-- so calming and his work is stunning.

Bloom's was AMAZING!! In addition to all of the arrangements turning out GORGEOUS, I was obsessed with my flower bouquet - they put rhinestones in it because they knew I wanted a "bling" theme for my wedding and it looked EXACTLY how I wanted it to. They did such an incredible job of capturing my vision and turning it into reality!! They are so professional and easy to work with and their work product is very high quality. I have no problems recommending them to anyone!! They really delivered on my big day!

We knew we wanted Michael as our wedding florist from our first meeting with him. His flowers were absolutely beautiful and his artistic vision was like nothing we had seen before. Michael listened to what I wanted for the day and created arrangements and bouquets that were unique, reflective of my taste and simply breathtaking. Michael exceeded all expectations and we are still receiving compliments on our flowers. I have used Michael since our wedding for birthday arrangements and will continue to do so in the future.

The arrangements were spectacular - all of the guests commented on them. The quality of the flowers was wonderful. Blooms was very easy to work with and was very flexible and listened as well as delivering a great result.

Michael at Blooms florist was an absolute JOY to work with. From the moment I stepped into his beautiful store, he was so kind, fun and his designs are incredibly gorgeous. I knew very little about flowers but knew the look I was going for, he put it together in minutes and completely hit the nail on the head! He did a wide variety of flowers and colors that matched my wedding theme, provided suggestions, and incorporated innovative concepts to make my flowers unique and not just like everyone elses! I had my own vases that I wanted to use at my cocktail hour and he used them and made them GORGEOUS. I received so many compliments on my flowers, it looked like a spring garden at my wedding. Michael was completely flexible and so cooperative. On my wedding day he noticed that I had not ordered enough flowers for one table, so without even pestering me to worry me, he quickly sent his staff back to his store to assemble another centerpiece and bring it back to the venue in time for the wedding! He did not even complain about the inconvenience. On top of all this, Michael is a riot, he made me laugh and have fun through out the entire experience. I'm sad that it's over, I would recommend him and Blooms to anyone!!!

Michael at Blooms was kind and patient with me and produced beautiful bouquets, nosegays, and boutonnieres. Our budget could not handle buying centerpieces from a florist and Michael was completely understanding...even offering us some tips when we told him our DIY plan for the centerpieces. Michael is a class act and I would highly recommend using him as a vendor!

Let me say all of the good first: they are affordable, friendly, and helpful! Definitely give them pictures though of what you want. My bouquet looked EXACTLY like I pictured and I absolutely loved it!!

What I was disappointed in: Although my bouquet was gorgeous, the flowers were falling out constantly :( however it really was beautiful so that was not a HUGE deal. Next, I asked for white bouquets for my girls, and they all had a VERY noticeable green tint to them--my heart fell when I saw them. Finally, the thing we had the biggest problem with was the centerpieces. Part of it may have been the delivery person who set up the centerpieces. They hired this person last minute for us (our fault, not theirs...the temperature spiked and we could not store the flowers overnight like we had expected so they found us a delivery person last minute which was very helpful of them!) When we got to the reception, many of the centerpieces were setup so the flowers were "hidden" from view. The caterers fixed them for us. But my major complaint was that when we first met, Blooms suggested a "cascade of flowers" down the side of our lantern centerpieces--an idea I loved! The centerpieces ended up being mostly a green pine garland coming down and wrapping around the lanterns...with maybe 5-6 flowers in each. In my opinion, they were not at all what we had discussed--I remember even on one of our last phone conversations they mentioned the garland and I said, "but it will be mostly flowers with a little bit of green, right?"...wrong :( It was almost all green. My only disclaimer is that maybe I should have met with them to see a "trial" of the centerpieces but I was so busy. We were tremendously disappointed with these centerpieces.

Overall, they were a nice company to work with but I would say that if you don't give them pictures or meet to see your "vision"...you may not be happy. Unfortunately, this is the only vendor I didn't love.

Blooms did a fantastic job for our recent wedding. They put together gorgeous works of art for the center pieces, which everyone commented on. Lots of people photographed them as well, which you don't usually see at a wedding. I thought I would have trouble giving them away at the post-wedding brunch, but people were almost fighting over who got to take them home.

Blooms was able to quickly respond to day-of problems. The hotel made a mistake and set-up one table too many. Michael didn't know it was a mistake, and wanted to make sure there were enough center-pieces for each table. On the spot he came up with a solution that was so perfect I never even realized there were extra center-pieces.

I wasn't crazy about the look of the Church where we had our ceremony. Blooms worked creatively with our altar decorations and the flowers along the pews that it really transformed the space.

I would highly recommend Blooms for any wedding or event. Michael and his team worked hard to understand the look that I was going for, and ensured that the flowers perfectly accented all the other elements of the wedding. They are true artists and will create something beautiful and memorable for your special day.

Our centerpieces were beautiful... the perfect blend of uniqueness and sophistication. Most importantly, Michael was able to truly listen and create the vision my daughter had with regard to her bouquets, boutineers, ceremony touches and the table centerpieces. His confidence allowed us to trust his talents and taste. Thank you for making the celebration very special.

Michael and his staff exceeded all expectations. All the floral arrangements were just breathtaking -- from flowers on the church pews to the bride's bouquet to the reception centerpieces. Everything was just stunning. A year before the wedding my mom and I showed up for our first meeting with an overwhelming amount of floral pictures critiquing each one. He took our comments and created an experience that surpassed all of our dreams. Peonies were the flower of choice and the arrangements all played off of their full yet elegant appeal. The candelabra centerpieces stood tall and just glistened at our reception in the East Club Lounge at Heinz Field. Guests were just blown away by the beauty of the flowers. After meeting Michael, he not only kept in touch with me and my wedding planner, but he sent me a proposal the next day. when I saw my flowers, altar arrangements, and reception centerpieces, I was speechless. Every detail was perfect! I couldn't even have dreamed that my special day would have turned out as beautiful as it did. He even switched some things for me last minute and had no problems. What can we say about two such incredibly talented people and their staff!!! Michael captured every vision we had in mind for our daughter's wedding. From the bridal party bouquets and boutonnieres to the glass cylinders lining the center aisle to the most magnificant chuppah anyone has ever seen (guests are still calling me to compliment how beautiful all the floral arrangements were) Now for the centerpieces, WOW, WOW, WOW!!! When my husband brought me into the William Penn Grand Ballroom prior to the wedding, I was speechless and had tears of joy!!! Blooms was the florist for my wedding this past spring at the Duquesne Club. The flowers were beautiful and their customer service was outstanding. I never had a problem communicating with Michael and all the flowers were set up on time with no issues. My favorite was the way they decorated the fountain where my new husband and I exchanged our vows. What an incredible back drop for photos and for our guest view!

Blooms Florist was my daughter's dream florist for her wedding. Working on a small budget, we were afraid that flowers from Blooms Florist were out of our reach but Michael Jacobs made my daughter's dream come true!

Michael was so friendly at our first meeting, that we left his shop feeling as though we had known him for years! He listened to my daughter's ideas and offered his own suggestions. He always answered our phone calls and emails promptly.

I was so excited to see the flowers on the wedding day and I was not disappointed! Michael's vision and talent of bouquets and centerpieces reflected not only a classic elegance, but also brought in the rustic feel of the countryside where both of our families live.

The wedding day may have been rainy (and a wee bit of snow) with temperatures only in the high 30s -- but the works of art that Blooms Florist created in the hues of orange, red and yellow (along with wheat) brought beauty and bursts of vibrant color and made us forget about the dismal weather outside.

The flowers provided by Blooms were gorgeous! I never saw what they were going to look like and I was pleasantly surprised the day of the wedding! Michael worked with me to integrate more rustic fall elements into the beautiful and vibrantly colored flowers, blending rustic with elegant. Michael offered good advice as to what flowers I should carry that would match the elegance of my dress, while making the bridesmaids' flowers more fun and a little less formal. All my maids carried a bouquet comprised of one type of flower, each bouquet was different. Michael's floral expertise helped me pick which flowers would go together well. My bouquet was a mix of all the girls flowers plus a couple others. For the guys, Michael made wheat and hypernicum berry boutannieres and my husband had those with a mango calla lily. The boutannieres were wrapped in raffia and looked very "manly" :) The girls' bouquets were wrapped in beautiful fabric. Michael used fabric from my mom's wedding dress to wrap by bouquet beautifully and he also wired in a small metal elephant figure that was my late grandpa's into my bouquet so that it could be seen but wouldn't fall out.

The flowers for our special guests, grandparents, and parents looked beautiful and matched their attire wonderfully. Michael also glued teddy bear sunflowers onto 12 manzanita branches we had purchased and delivered them to the reception site. Our unity candle arrangment was breathtaking--I was blown away when my husband and I walked up to light the candles. The flower girl's basket was also gorgeous!

Working with Michael was wonderful. He was very funny and nice. I loved going to his store and playing with his kitten!

My only "complaint" would be that I thought the bridesmaids' bouquets would be a bit larger, but I am a tiny person, so my bouquet couldn't be huge or it would look silly and I think he wanted my bouquet to be noticeably larger than theirs....

Flowers were beautiful and artistic; staff was slightly less enthusiastic and approachable than other places I interviewed. My bouquets were gorgeous and exactly what I wanted, as were my table centerpieces but I was a little disappointed in the size of the main arrangements for the appetizers, escort card table, etc. Perhaps I had unrealistic expectations but I feel that is their job as the professionals to address that. They did exactly what we had discussed and nothing extra.

Michael and his crew were amazing! Our guests are still raving about the ambience 5 months after our wedding! Michael took our ideas and created a vision for our wedding ceremony and reception that was far beyond our expectations. We shopped around at some of the best florists in Pittsburgh, and Michael was able to provide greater quality at a better price.

We were so excited when we saw the venue for the first time, they surprised us and added some extra finishing touches that were stunning at no additional cost. The really did an amazing job!

Using Blooms was one of the best decisions we made during wedding planning. I met with three florists and Michael was so professional and easy to talk to. He saw our vision and the rest was in his hands. He was so particular; I knew that we could trust him. Going into the wedding day the flowers were the least of my concern since I knew Michael was handling them. The centerpieces, bouquets and alter flowers were perfect. The alter flowers which I did not give really any direction on (except to go with the same theme) were the most beautiful I have ever seen and the pictures are amazing.

Michael was very affordable in spite of the stylish designs that he provided for the wedding. We were able to work together to create the vision for the reception decor and he arrived very early to begin setting up for the day. He even helped to move tables to ensure that the flower arrangements were not disturbed when adjusting the table placement. I received so many compliments on the unique design and how beautiful the flowers were - he listened to all of my concerns and made sure everything turned out perfect.

If I could give Michael and the Blooms staff a 10 I would. There was no other florist we even considered for our wedding. Because there was no one else who even compared to what Michael can do with flowers!
After meeting with Michael...I didn't even give him any direction other than to discuss the colors...Then said do what you do best. And, I could not have been happier with the final outcome. Both the ceremony and reception flowers were amazing. I don't know how he does it, but he created a masterpiece with the room.

The most talented design team ever! Michael could transform a room in to an Enchanted Garden as he did for us. Trees with twinkle lights, fountains and only candles to light the way. Amazing!

The price was excellent compared to other local flower shops. Every thing arrived on time and was EXACTLY what I wanted since I showed him a picture of a brides bouquet from a magazine and he mimicked it perfectly!

Michael and his staff are marvelous!! He is a creative genius. I am a very picky, creative person and I never want to have something that someone else has done previously. I met with Michael, explained to him what I was doing and my budget and he worked with me totally. If you are a persnickity person and like things to be done well this is the place for you. Totally upscale and professional. I even had them make the flowers for our son's prom and I will continue to use them as long as I am in Pittsburgh.
