ABOUT CINDY
Cindy McCrory earned the Photography Certification from the University of South Alabama, and her B.A. in Communications/Photojournalism from New College at the University of Alabama. Cindy's photographs have appeared in the Mobile Press Register and its extended family of publications: Bay Weekend (BW), ZALEA, Coastal Alabama, Gulf Coast Business, as well as al.com (Alabama Media Group). American Airlines recently featured her photography in "American Way", the company's in-flight magazine.

Is your media preference film or digital?

digital although I always take a few film shots with my old camera at every wedding for old Hollywood style shots

How many photographers do you work with?

I have three second shooters and three videographers with whom I collaborate

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

yes; I do have a clause in my contract that says unforeseen circumstances allows me to send one of partners in my place. But unforeseen means that I have either died - heaven forbid - or have a broken limb! I have made 100% of all bookings - including non-wedding events or photoshoots - since i started in my photography business in 2009

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

yes on occasion but rarely

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

yes i have a choice of several

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

Two full format camera bodies, four lens, external flash speedlights, off camera flash stands, reflectors, charging equipment for all; second shooters are required to have two camera bodies and lens on each, as well. So we have plenty of backup.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

Yes. See prior answer.

Do you charge hourly or full day?

Full day for weddings; hourly for special events with a minimum of two hours required plus travel if over 30 miles one way

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

Up to the client. I usually bring my own snacks and if I take a break, I put my second shooter as primary, and then we swap places again. The break is usually when people are eating which is not a great time to be taking photographs.

Do you charge for travel?

Depends on length

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

Two weeks. We recently hired an editor and hope to have turnaround within five days.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?

Online is free; Proofbook is extra $125- 175

How long can the client keep the proofs?

Online proofs are up for twelve months

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

Yes

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

Yes

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?

The upper level packages include the digital files. The lower level packages do not but are available for an additional charge.

Will images be available for viewing online?

Yes at no charge

What kind of albums do you offer?

Lots and lots of choices

When will the client get the final album?

3-5 weeks after client approves the final draft

Additional Advice

Blue Room Wedding Boxes include albums, canvas portraits, prints, DVD, engagement photos, bridal photos. Packages (we call them Blue Room Boxes) start at $1999 for small weddings (under 50 people). Full size wedding packages start at $3300 and include bridal and engagement photos. If you prefer to not have all of the items listed in our packages, we will be happy to create a custom package for you starting at $2499.
