Bold American Catering

BAC did the food for my wedding and rehearsal dinner, and it was wonderful. We had so many quests mention how great the food was, which was so important to us. Seemed a little expensive, but in the end it was so worth it!

More people complimented the food at our wedding than any other aspect. Most heard comment: "The best wedding food I've ever had!" What else needs to be said? Oh yeah, they worked with me to stay in my budget...that was the 2nd biggest thing for me. I was worried they would break our bank at first look at their prices but we worked with Nicki who did a great job of helping us pick food that would fit our range (and obviously was still delicious). They packed us a take-home bag at the end of the night for my groom and I to eat in the hotel room (including our cake!) and that was maybe the best part because we were starving. They also made sure we got appetizers and food by giving us our own VIP server. On top of all of that, my mother told me after the wedding that there was one server who identified her and my dad as the mother and father of the bride and made sure they got to try all of the appetizers and then took my elderly grandparents through the buffet line personally. She really went above and beyond what anyone expected. Also, Bold worked very hard to make an odd request that I had come to fruition (pie pops!). Great job all around and on top of all that, DELICIOUS!!!

We used Bold for both catering and decor, and it was amazing! We worked with Bryn for catering, and she is just the nicest, most helpful person we've ever met! We just loved working with her and the entire Bold team. Everyone absolutely loved the food. It was just what we were hoping for, and it was as delicious on the night of the wedding as it was when we had the tasting!

Bold American did a wonderful job at my wedding. Their waitstaff was extremely professional and very attentive. Our personal server, Winnie, was beyond amazing! Every time we needed something, she was right there. Michelle was also great in helping me with everything leading up to the event. She was right on top of every task and was able to accomplish everything I asked. On top of all this, the food was AMAZING! All the guests kept telling me how awesome everything tasted.

I don't know where to start with this review - in a great way!! Bold American has AMAZING food and exceptional service for guests. This was another area that our guests couldn't stop complimenting on.

We chose the Southern Buffet and I must say, that was a great choice. Quality, delicious, scrumptious food (shrimp & grits, fried chicken, mac & cheese....) and even better display. Having a food critic in my immediate family, it exceeded our expectations.

Michelle and the staff at Bold American were wonderful to work with. No matter how many questions and requests you have, they aim to please! The service was great and the food was phenomenal!!!!! All of our guests were blown away by how delicious the food was in addition to the offerings. Most caterers want you to order what they have to offer and are not flexible. Bold American is the opposite - they were extremely flexible and accommodating to various needs such as gluten-free and vegetarian diets. If there's something you have in mind that you just have to have at your wedding, let them know and they'll try to make it happen for you! Their mini-desserts are also to die for!! Sure Bold American does not come cheap but the quality shows and it's worth every penny you spend.

Bold did an amazing job at our wedding. Even up until a week before the wedding I was calling and changing my mind on things and asking a thousand questions, but they remained professional and attentive to my needs. In the event I need catering services again, I would definitely use Bold again. Thanks for making our wedding night a hit!

EXCELLENT!!!! Everything was amazing...to this day we still get "the food was incredible...best we ever had at any wedding". Also - Thanks to the amazing staff and especially Michelle - the event coordinator. AMAZING...all of it!

The food was FANTASTIC - people are still talking about it. We did the fried chicken, collards, mac-n-cheese bar (gotta do it!), fried green tomatoes etc and it was WONDERFUL! It's def. pricey - so get ready for that. It's fun to have a server just for the bride and groom too! We actually got to eat the yummy food. There was a miscommunication between us, our sales coord. and the coord. from Bold American that was at the reception and it was about money - which is NOT something you want to talk about at your reception. Just make sure everyone is on the same page about the timeline and you'll be good to go! Very very very good food, the bar tenders were great and the service staff - they were AWESOME!!!!

Bold is AMAZING! It was a pleasure working with Amanda Gall and her team before and on the big day! Brynn was a super sweet day of contact and we were so pleased with everything. The food was to die for! Would highly recommend Bold to anyone!

The food was delicious, and we loved the to-go bag they provided for the bride/groom.

I had the pleasure of working with Nicki and Mia for my wedding in February at the Biltmore Ballrooms. Throughout the entire planning process, Nicki and Mia were both very responsive and such a pleasure to work with. For the big day, the service and food was amazing. All the guests complimented on how tasty the dinner was and how great the service was (we had about 170 guests). Bold also handled our rehearsal dinner at a private venue (King Plow) and it was amazing! I highly recommend working with this company - they are fairly priced, you can trust them and they are great quality!!

Bold American was a complete disappointment as a wedding caterer. Complete. I would like to say, first of all, that I did not come into this wedding with unrealistic expections. I understand that this is bulk catered food and will not be restaurant quality. That being said, the food provided by Bold American was a complete and utter disappointment and many of our guests commented negatively upon the quality of the food. We as a couple getting married were embarrassed, and I was embarrassed to hear that many of our guests went down the street after the wedding to grab an “actual meal”. Even we as the newlywed couple went to a hotel bar after OUR WEDDING to grab two hamburgers so we could have something decent to eat. We participated in Bold American’s tasting, which was a complete bait and switch and not representative of the low quality food we were presented at our wedding. We paid thousands of dollars to Bold American and could have had better food catered for 40% less. Bold American responded to the low quality product by giving us roughly a 15% discount on our expenditure, but we would have gladly paid that 15% to have had presentable, warm, fresh food at our wedding. The service team that they provided were professional and attentive, but could not overcome the food shortcomings. Here is the rundown:
-The appetizers were brutal. Greasy phyllo filled with mystery meat. Clammy spring rolls. Old endive.
-The main courses. A flaming shrimp station which was nothing that it was billed to be. Rather than plump shrimp kebabs with fresh vegetables and sauce, we got overcooked wrinkled bait shrimp, unrecognizable overcooked vegetables, NO SAUCE, served on a bed of plain white rice. Literally, each of our patrons got a miniature three inch kebab with two U50 shrimp on it on a full plate of plain unseasoned, undressed white rice.
-Flank steak. Overcooked, gray, ICE cold, with overcooked unseasoned ICE COLD vegetables. Do not let these people ruin your wedding.

Bold American was fantastic! Jeffrey was a delight to work with and most importantly: the food was amazing. I even made a point to eat, though most brides complain they don't get to, because for the money I wasn't willing to miss out on the amazing food! Bold was flexible and accommodating. I will certainly be using them again for any catering needs. It's a little pricey, but worth it!

Bold American's food is delicious and their service impeccable. Period.

The food was fantastic! Be careful when you go for the 'taste testing'...what you are really getting is a full multi-course meal. They did a very good job on presentation and we were surprised at how well they kept up with collecting used plates and drinks, keeping the serving area and table organized and clean. Overall, an excellent company to cater an event.

Excellent food, great communication. Flexible as can be... I changed things all the way up until 2 weeks before the event. Did I mention the amazing food?

The food that Bold American provide at our wedding was fabulous. We made many guests tell us it was the best wedding food they have had. I highly recommend using them for your wedding!

Bold recently handled the catering for my wedding at Summerour Studio and I can only say good things! Amanda, my catering contact, helped to develop a diverse, yet regionally inspired menu consisting of a bountiful spread and several food stations that truly impressed myself (as well as my guests). In fact, I still dream about that deep fried turkey with the creole mustard... and the steak, the STEAK!! Served a perfect medium rare! Thank you!!! And, I would be remiss to not mention the "little plates" of GA mountain trout, with spinach and sweet potatoes, that wow-ed our guests from Miami and San Diego... all seafood snobs, too! We were so excited to show them what the South could truly offer! Also, Clare, who handled the decor and florals, also set the mood by creating a soft, romantic setting... with lights strung over the dance floor and tables sprinkled with candles and little glass vases with white flowers. Two thumbs up for the Bold American Team!

Perfect is the only way to describe our experience with Bold. And that's because that was what we received - perfection! Jacqui meet with me and we discussed what I wanted as far as food and price and she met our needs and wants and exceeded our exceed our expectations in every way. I changed my mind about the menu dozens (no, really) of times and she happily sent me a new, perfectly detailed proposal every time I though of something new. Most importantly, she got back to, within the hour, every single time I called or emailed with a question, idea or change. THIS IS CUSTOMER SERVICE!

With Bold you get TOP notch service through the whole process - menu planning, event design, tasting (OMG IT WAS GOOOOOD!) walk through at the venue, time line development, the event and break down. All included in the basic catering plan - no extra hidden charges here ladies!

And the food - people are still talking about how good it was! It was exactly what we wanted, down to the crunchy on the top mac n cheese. They worked to hard to make us happy! And no need to spend extra for buffet table decor - because Bold does it for you - free!

The price. It's not over the top expensive, and you get way more than you would expect. Great food, excellent customer service, seamless event, and even mom was happy!

Jacqui, Michelle, David, Steve and the rest of the staff were amazing at Bold American Events and Catering. We primarily used their event planning and decoration services. We also used their catering services, although the food was provided by an outside restaurant with Bold American taking care of all food coordination. We also give a great big shout out to Jacqui for making our night so great. Although we made all the plans while living in a different city, she was very accommodating in answering everything via phone and email. She was very attentive and was so flexible with all the multiple changes. On the day of the event, everything was setup as we had imagined it to be and the staff was superb, very friendly, and professional. Bold American is by far one of the best caterers in Atlanta, which is why they are pretty pricey. The food is incredible- seriously some of the best you will ever have at a wedding. Their staff is dedicated to making you happy and their sales reps are great. They provide a personal server and ours was awesome.
Bold is good and they know it, and they are used to running the show and not worrying about cost to you. Be careful and make sure you are specific about what you want and what your budget is.
Overall, Bold is wonderful and I recommend them to any bride who wants to make a statement and doesnt mind the price.

Jackie at Bold American was great to work with. The quality, guantity, and variety of food was fabulous!! Our guests kept commenting on how wonderful the food was. The tablescape was lovely too. Highly recommend them!!!

We used Bold American and Decor for our wedding reception. Everything was fantastic and turned out fabulous. We are still getting calls and emails about how beautiful our reception was and how the food was so delicious. Our personal server was very attentive and made sure our glasses were full and got us food so we would not have to get up and could enjoy the night. Everything they said they would do they did and in the time frame they said. If Jacqui told me she would send out a revision the next day, she would. We never had to wait on anything and they were extremely professional and excellent to work with. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for wonderful food and a great group of people to work with.

I grant a lot of the success of my wedding day to Bold American. They are wonderful to work with, have lots of great ideas, and are very willing to work with their clients and their budgets. I feel like we got away with a really great deal for all the service we got. The venue (at the King Plow Arts Center) was just our style, and everyone thought it was just perfect for us. The servers were wonderful; the food was DELICIOUS and plentiful; and Jeffrey, with whom I worked to make it all happen, is just the nicest guy.

If I had to gripe, it would be that there was a dress rehearsal for the next day's wedding that was scheduled for right before my wedding time, so that the other party was in the event space using it while we were trying to set up our decorations. My wedding was on a Friday, and so I understand that the other party had to have their rehearsal that day, but I wish it had been scheduled a little earlier. Apparently the mother-of-the-bride got snippy with my husband about being in their way (which of course isn't totally BA's fault), and their use of another space in the complex meant that the groomsmen had to change in the public men's restroom across the hall. However, for the inconvenience, they threw in an extra service gratis: they took down all our decorations after we left at 1am!

If I had to do it all again, I would definitely stick with Bold American.

The food was absolutely amazing! We were really impressed with the service and the servers went out of their way to complement us. Amanda was awesome and so fun to work with!

Bold American went above and beyond my expectations! Not only did they provide excellence service but all of our guests continue to rave about the food. A great company focused on restaurant quality food with superior service.

Bold American Catering is one of the most professional caterers I have ever worked with. They were very flexible and understanding as their quality of service was great. I highly recommend this caterer!

Amazing food and beautiful decorations!

Amanda was SUPERB!!! I loved working with Bold. Their food excellent and we recieved countless comments about them. Our late night snacks served about 10:00 were such a hit that we are still getting compliments about them

Our wedding is a day that we will remember forever thanks to Amanda and the team at Bold American and King Plow. Amanda is one of the sweetest and most professional people that I have met. She took all of our worries and stress away and helped to make our day a dream come true. Our friends and family have not stopped talking about the food from that evening. It was the best food that I have ever had at a wedding. Our pumpkin soup (served in small pumpkins) was the talk of the night. Our personal attendant for the evening was very attentive and lovely. Anytime we didn't have a drink in our hand she was there asking what she could bring me. Bold is one of the most flexible companies to work with. They rarely say "no" and instead say "we will make it work".
The only issue that we really had was that our anniversary tier on the cake was not packaged up and given to us but Amanda resolved that issue as soon as I addressed it.
We will be forever grateful to Amanda and Bold for making our evening so enchanting. It was more than we could have asked for. We will refer them to everyone that we know who needs a caterer for a social or corporate event.

There are a few ways to evaluate a caterer - I used Bold American last week for my wedding, and these are my comments:

1) Our sales rep, Amanda was AWESOME. So helpful, creative, responsive, and flexible. Even showed up to our freezing event and brought blankets!

2) Food was really good. Everyone raved all night. Everyone's plate at my table was cold (we were the first table served), so there were definitely some temperature issues, but the flavor was fantastic.

3) Our "personal server" was terrible. He gave us 1 drink, brought us a plate of food, and then disappeared the rest of the night. Further, I asked for one thing to be in my "to-go" box at the end of the night and he included everything BUT that! I had no appetizers and 1 glass of wine all night because of him. No drinks, no apps, nothing because I didn't have time to track anyone down to get it.

4) The catering staff was stationed behind the house where we had the wedding party getting dressed. Throughout the night, people were in there and could hear the staff making comments. First, as the other reviewer suggested, they were laughing about how soon they could start eating all the cake, and my grandmother had to ask them to give us the leftover cake (there were even guests who didn't GET cake!!) and they tried to lie and say there was nothing left. My personal server even dropped the cake behind his back to make it look like he wasn't eating it. Totally unprofessional. Same with other personal items I brought.....if you aren't careful, they will take them all.

The company is fantastic but the servers lack some integrity. I would highly recommend the food.......but someone has to watch the staff.

Our guests are still raving about the delicious food we had! It's a little pricey but you get what you pay for! The service was excellent. We had a personal server assigned to us (bride and groom) that checked in on us throughout the evening and brought us food and drinks. She was also kind enough to check on my mother since she doesn't get around very easy. Kudos to the entire staff!

Bold American provided the most delicious food I have had at a wedding. They were easy to work with, flexible with our food options and were extremely professional throughout the sales and planning process. I would definitely use them again for another event.

Flexible, I'd say. Willing to work with what we wanted. Food quality wasn't too shabby. For the price I expected a bit better service, but it turned out well.

The food was fantastic. The booking and food selection process was great. Overall, I would recommend Bold American. The only problem I encountered was that we (the bride and groom) were supposed to have a personal server who would bring us food and drinks throughout the reception. He basically disappeared after a short time. Also, the catering staff (or someone else at our venue) took all of my leftover cake (which was a lot, and a very expensive cake). I had given strict instructions for it to be given to someone, and they kept saying it was all gone. I would still recommend the caterer, but keep a close eye on your cake.

The guests kept talking about how delicious the food was. I knew that working with a catering company that served 5 of Atlanta's best restaurants would deliver spectacular food. I wasn't wrong.

We are still getting raves and calls from people about the food- it was just incredible. I would recommend BA highly based on food and throughout the year my sales person was very helpful and responsive. The only small issues we had was on the day of the wedding- the kids meals were not served, and our VIP person assigned to my husband and I was not there as long as I would have hoped. They also cleared our food away before we had finished, and cleared our slices of cake away so we didn't get any wedding cake that night!
Overall their food is unlike any other- it's so different than the traditional wedding food. Well worth the money and a good company.

We signed a contract with Chef William Neal before he joined Bold America. After he joined them, Bold America assumed that contract. We continued to deal with Neal, but couldn't get him to return phone calls, emails, or attend scheduled meetings. It was a disaster, especially since he wouldn't honor all the terms of the original contract and we had to pay even more money for services that were supposed to be included (like three hundred dollars to put three pieces of fruit on each cake plate - it was originally complementary).
On the night of the wedding, our guests stood in line for over an hour because they hadn't placed the table in a location that could be accessed from both sides. On top of that, certain members of the staff were rude to my mother.
It was ridiculous. Bold America finally apologized after we brought the matter to their attention and refunded a small percentage of our money, but it was too little too late.
I recommend that anyone planning a wedding stays away from Bold America and especially William Neal. No one wants that kind of hassle on their wedding day.

The food was wonderful. It was a little pricey I guess but you get what you pay for sometimes. Could not have asked for better service and staff. It turned out perfect.

These guys are the BEST! I have worked with them countless times, and they catered my own wedding. Absolutely phenomenal food, staff, and just fantastic overall!

I was in a heated discussion about what caterer we like....I LOVE BOLD! They get it in my opinion. BIG flavors, BIG portions, and a passion for food comes out in every bite!

Looking forward to working a wedding with them very very soon...Dang, now I'm hungry! lol
