Sheree Event Center
The venue the day of my wedding was beautiful and the clean up service was well worth the money. They aren't always there when you call, but they call you back in a reasonable amount of time. Good prices and you get the venue all day so i didn't have to worry about someone having to decorate it while i was getting ready for the ceremony which was a relief. Overall great place for my wedding!
We held our reception here, and at first I wasn't sure we had picked a good place because I could hardly get a hold of anyone. They got a new general manager soon after we booked them, though, and she was amazing! She was incredibly helpful and responded much quicker. We had them do chair covers and swag/lights on the ceiling, and it turned out beautifully. The only thing I'm unsure of is if we actually got a good price!
Our experience with Boulevard was absolutely awful. When we signed our contract over a year before the wedding, Blake was the owner and was great to deal with. He let us decorate on Friday because nothing was booked for that day and he approved the decorations I already had in mind. About 6 months before the wedding we found out Blake had hired a 'coordinator' and things started to go downhill. She was upset with us when we chose not to do one of her package deals because we'd already secured several other vendors (better vendors for prices lower than she could offer) and then told us we'd have to pay her $100/hr to put up our decor the day before the wedding. That was not written anywhere in the contract, but Blake went along with it. When we got to the venue on Friday we found out that Blake was no longer the owner as of 3 weeks ago. There was no phone call or email even to let us know. The new owners are several vendors who have quite obviously not been in business for long, as you'll read later. Also, the AC was not turned on (it was 95 degrees outside) and they informed us that they'd turn it on an hour before the reception was scheduled to start because it 'only takes 10 minutes to cool down the room'. A room with 300 people in it? Not likely. They were rude and not at all helpful the entire day. On Saturday when guests started arriving at the reception the AC was STILL not on. They had turned it on, but it blew the breaker and shut off. The thermostat said 85 degrees. Wouldn't you think you'd check on that? The bathrooms were disgusting, one of the two toilets in the women's bathroom wasn't working, there was a musty smell (that they said would go away when the AC was turned on), and the owners were walking around our reception in nasty t-shirts and shorts eating our food and drinking our alcohol. A couple pans of leftover food even disappeared from the fridge in the back. At the end of the night when my family members voiced some of their complaints the owner asked my brother-in-law (the best man) if he wanted to 'take it outside' and settle it. He cussed at everyone there including my MOTHER in front of children and he wanted to solve the problem by fighting. A business owner providing a public service wants to settle a disagreement by having a fist fight?! Absolutely terrible venue and service. PLEASE do not make the same mistake we did by using them!
Blake and Sarah really tried to make the big day very easy for us. The Banquet Hall was gorgeous and I would fully recommend paying the extra $50 to have Sarah hang tulle and lights from the ceiling above the dance floor.
We had our reception here on June 13, 2009.
We had booked our reception almost a year before, and the building changed owners between our booking date and the date of our wedding. The new owner called us and honored the price we'd signed on for, and was willing to meet with us to discuss any changes.
The new owner was absolutely amazing! He let us in the building the day before to decorate since nothing was booked for that day. And even climbed a very tall ladder himself to hang our decoration from the high ceiling. The night of the reception he was there, available if there was any problems with anything. And he set up our "wedding dvd" to play on the projectors around the room.
I couldn't have asked for a better venue or a better owner. He went above and beyond anything we expected!! :)
