Bournedale Function Facility

The Bournedale Facility provided my son and his new wife the wedding of their dreams. It was a magical week-end. The entire staff at Bournedale catered to our every need. The food was excellent, the accomodations were comfortable and the whole experience was more than I could have wished for.
Every guest left with positive comments and a smile on their face. A great time was had by all.

What an amazing and unique venue! Darin and Robyn made sure that our day went off without a hitch. They are true professionals and really know what they're doing. They made the day run smoothly and truly made this the wedding of our absolute dreams. Both the ceremony & reception are right on the camp grounds and guests can even stay overnight, which make for a fun weekend rather than just a few hours. Darin was incredibly responsive and helpful over email and every time we met with him, my nerves were calmed because he was on top of it ALL! Chef Ron made the most delectable appetizers and entrees (and amazing hollandaise sauce, my favorite!) I wish I could get married again just to have another party with them!

Bournedale was the perfect place for our wedding. We started with a Friday night rehearsal and clambake and stayed through Sunday breakfast. We had friends and family coming in from around the country and this gave us the opportunity to spend time with all of our guests outside of the rush of the wedding reception. We wanted to create a sense of community for all the people we love and Bournedale was the perfect place. The food was awesome, the staff was helpful, friendly and accommodating and the setting was picturesque! We could not have been happier!

Wow, I cannot even begin to put into words how AMAZING Bournedale Function Facility is!! We just had our 8/19/12 wedding there, and it was unbelievable. Bournedale was only the 2nd venue I looked at. I fell in love with the place, so I had to bring my now husband back to look at it a few days later. We both just looked at each other and knew - this was it. The place is just so unique and beautiful!

We are so impressed with all of the staff who work there - Darin, Leslie, Robin, Chef Ron, Mark, Steve, and the owner - Arnie! Darin was there from day one, always responding to my crazy questions and reassuring me. He even stayed late the day of our wedding to make sure everything was put into place - even though he was supposed to be leaving for vacation! He is clearly dedicated and loves what he does.
Then Leslie stepped in, and was such a rockstar! She helped set up all of my decorations, made sure all of the bridal party had drinks, and was there throughout the entire night. And Chef Ron...wow- the food was fantastic! People are still raving about it. We cannot believe that omelette bar was such a big hit and we appreciate all of the hard work you put into it.
Steve was also amazing... he kept the fire going all evening and even dealt with my crazy drunk friends! He was also constantly driving people back and forth in the golfcart to their cabins - so thank you for that! And Arnie, the owner - what a wonderful, sweet man. He was so excited for everything and was around the entire evening, even picking us girls up at the bridal suite to bring us down to the ceremony himself.

All I keep saying to myself is WOW! I am beyond happy that we went with Bournedale for our wedding, and we are truly thankful for all of the dedication and work that everyone put into our special day. We loved it so much that we never wanted to leave! We might just have to plan another event (family reunion, vow renewal?) in the future!...

I am so happy that we got married at the Bournedale Function Facility in Plymouth. It was the perfect setting for our casual but festive wedding. Guests comments that they had a blast and so did we! On the beautiful outdoor lawn overlooking Great Herring Pond we were able to have the ceremony of our dreams. The venue has both indoor and outdoor space, which was perfect. The guests and we greatly enjoyed having boat rides and a bonfire on the beach as part of the wedding - it made for a unique and memorable event!

Without a doubt, this place was amazing. I got married here very recently- June 9th and it could not have gone any smoother. Darin and the entire staff were so calm and helpful throughout the whole process. All of the guests had an amazing time and are still raving about it. We had people stay overnight, attend the bonfire on the beach, and have breakfast the next morning (Steve is awesome!!) The food was delicious, the bartenders were awesome, the owner even came over and spoke with us. All very nice people. I highly recommend Bournedale. It was the only place we looked at for our wedding and we knew it was going to be the right place from the start. It was flawless and perfect for our ceremony and reception.

Camp Bournedale was the perfect place for our wedding. We're in our late thirties and many of our friends have kids. We wanted a place the whole family could come and feel comfortable. We had about 170 guests stay over at the camp, about 40 of them kids.

It's my opinion that if you fly in for a typical wedding weekend, you spend far too much time dealing with logistics - navigating around, waiting to meet up with people, sitting on idling buses, and so on. It can be more time than you're actually at events. The camp allowed us to get away from that. Guests didn't have a single worry once they arrived Friday night until they left on Sunday. The camp hosted a barbecue Friday night, then we had skits and songs in the gym building that night. Saturday morning breakfast was prepared and hosted by some of our friends. Then for lunch we had pizzas brought in. Saturday morning we had a soccer game with players from 6 to 65 years old, then went down to the waterfront for swimming and kayaking and volleyball The wedding was in the afternoon out on the lawn. Absolutely gorgeous. After the reception we did a bonfire until very late. Then Sunday the camp hosted the farewell brunch.

We used all the cabins and all the houses. At first we were concerned whether our guests would mind sharing accommodations, but they were fine with it and had a great time. By Friday night packs of kids who didn't know each other hours before we running around the camp like they were old friends.

We put our parents' generation in the houses along with my grandmother and her sister. They're both over 90 and have trouble getting around. Throughout the weekend one of the guys on the staff would go over in a golf cart and suggest where they might want to go based on what was going on and would drive them. They were so thrilled to be able to participate - and have their own chauffeur to boot.

PERFECTION!!!!

As all of us brides know we have dreamed of our wedding day since we were little girls. The minute I saw the pictures of Bournedale I feel in love!!!
To give you a little back-round, I was deployed to Afghanistan during most of the planning of my wedding. Darin was AMAZING!!!! He was there responding to emails and calls and different people asking different questions regarding what we wanted, which can get crazy I'm sure. When I returned home and was able to visit the venue for the first time I was even more blown away. Everything was so well taken care of (even though it was still winter it was beautiful) and I could see that everything was going to be exactly as I had always dreamed. They have a bit of everything for out door lovers: The pond/lake, the beautiful beach, the dock& pontoon boat, just the right amount of trees,bushes and flowers surrounding the camp grounds. Darin sat down with us and explained everything and how things would go but also gave us the freedom to have things the way I had dreamed of. The food choices were great, with something for everyone. We didn't have a tasting or anything and on our day let me tell you.... I ate a bit of everything, even some of my husbands=) They have cabins on the grounds if you want to have your guest stay and they allow you to choose which house you would like to stay in for the wedding night. Us girls got ready there and it was perfect size for all of us crazy girls. Darin was right there to make sure things went smooth and even when we ran out of my drink of choice he had someone run to the house and grab more lol.... now that's dedication.
I guess all I can say is if your looking for an AMAZING venue with and equally AMAZING staff Bournedale is just what your looking for!!!!!!!

Bournedale is a unique venue. We knew the moment we saw it that we had to get married there. My parents had some concern that it would be too casual, but in the end they were very pleased with the venue. When it's all dressed up for a wedding it's very classy, but it still retains a laid-back feeling. The staff was wonderful from day one, though sometimes Darin would reply to my emails so briefly that I was left with even more questions. In the end it all got sorted out and on the day of the wedding I didn't have to think about a single thing.

Last week (8/20/11) my husband and I had a fabulous, memorable time at our wedding.

We became engaged in November. We both wanted a summer wedding. I wanted backyard outdoor casual, my fiance wanted water. I remember looking at wedding venues online a year before (yes, before even having a ring) I loved the pictures & fell in love with Camp Bournedale then. We saw 5 venues and absolutely KNEW when we saw it. Even in the winter, you can see the picturesque beauty. We loved the laid back, rustic atmosphere.

Darin is an absolute saint! He is SO patient. I will admit I am OCD. I need to know everything and do everything. I was the nagging bride of "What if?" "Do you?" "Can we?" Being a different type of venue there is not much on the wedding websites. Darin responded to every question. You can RELAX. Darin has the answers to everything and will take care of ANYthing.

They are very flexible and lenient. Very carefree. They are there to ensure YOU have the best day of your life. We went off menu & chose steak tips & turkey tips with rice and vegetable medley. We did the pasta bar and all the guests LOVED it. It is definately worth it! Chef Ron is awesome! My colors were blue & yellow. I asked to have Lemon Drops and Electric Lemonades passed around during cocktail hour. Guests loved them. The pictures people took look awesome.

The afterparty was great. S'mores! mmm! I know he's gonna be upset, Mark (Matt) I thought it was Mark, but then someone else posted Matt. SORRY. He was fantastic. Very sociable. He had the bonfire ready to go, with our coolers and seating all prepared. Many of our guests went to bed by 2pm (husband til 3am). But, I was out with my cousins until 4am. I waited 9 months for the afterparty, I was gonna make the most of it :). The grounds are very lit and Mark can bring you by golf cart back to you cabin/house. Breakfast is great too! Eggs, sausage, cereal, bagels, fruit, hasbrowns...just what you need after a night of fun!

The owner, Arnie, such a nice, nice man! Everyone makes you feel...like a bride :) Darin, Arnie,Chef Ron, Robin, Mark, the bartenders..every one is great.

I can't say enough. Chose Bourndale, you will not regret it!

Our daughter had her wedding here on June 18th, 2011. My wife and I are from out of state, and from the very beginning of planning the affair, Darin was responsive to the many questions we had, and provided exceptional guidance right thru the actual day of the wedding. On a few visits to the Facility, we had the pleasure of meeting the owner.
The day was everything that we hoped for our daughter and son in law. The lakeside ceremony was wonderful, and the reception was memorable. The entire event was handled by Darin, Leslie, and the staff with a level of professionalism that is hard to find, and as parents that want the best for their children, we are very appreciative of everything that was done that day. All of our guests continue to rave about that Facility, the lakeside view, the food, and the service.
Many of our guests came from out of state for this affair, and without exception, everyone had only positive comments about Bournedale, and the staff, and are glad they made the trip.
The campfire on the beach after the reception was a hit with all that attended.
My wife and I highly recommend the Bournedale Function Facility. Again, we are very pleased with the entire staff, the actual event, and the attention to detail that Darin managed.

When i first arrived at Bournedale i was a little hesitant due to the big sign that says "camp ground" all i could say to my fiance was oh my god a camp ground this is gonna definitely be a big no way since we want a nice elegant wedding but we will still looked at it since we drove 1 1/2 hrs to get here. As we drove in looking around i thought this is not bad its not a camp ground! Then we meet with Darin the facility manager who showed us all around the grounds and the houses that the guests can stay in and was i wrong the houses are so much more than i expected they are so beautiful and well kept along with the grounds and the function hall. This site is so beautiful and all the staff there are so friendly and helpful that my wedding day was a great success, the food was great we got so many compliments on the meals, the candy bar and the cookie buffet. Alot of our guests did not wanna stay overnight because they thought it is was a typical CAMP GROUND but the day of the wedding so many of our guests decided to stay overnight for the bonfire that lasted till 6am and probably would have gone longer but the guest got tired and wanted to make the breakfast that was also so good. the night grounds man Matt was great he started the bonfire and due to it being so cold outside he set up for us inside and my guests got to play so many fun games my grandmother played flip cups need i say more.
Ladies dont judge a book by its cover because if we just drove off we would of had a plain elegant wedding where everyone would have gone home for 10:30-11:00 and if your gonna spend that type of money might as well party all night with good people and still have a beautiful elegant wedding.
My husband and i loved the site and staff so much we cant wait to plan another party there.

We recently got married at Camp Bournedale (Bournedale Function Facility). When we started to look for venues for our wedding Camp Bournedale was first on our list and it ended up being the ONLY place we looked. Once we visited we decided it was the place for us. It was a different way to do a wedding. My then fiance and I wanted something laid back and we loved the chance to have friends and family sleep over in the cabins and continue the party after the reception. The bonfire sounded like something we would love as well. The day and night went off without a hitch. We ended up doing the weekend package (sleepover, bonfire and breakfast) and are SO glad we did. Darin, Robin and the rest of the staff were so accommodating and helped to make our wedding day amazing. The owner even helped out the day of the wedding and during breakfast and was so friendly and welcoming! We had the most amazing time and know that if we had done it anywhere else it would not have been the same. All of our friends and family haven't stop talking about how awesome and unique it was. The food is terrific and the atmosphere is one of a kind. I would pick it all over again. My husband and I are even talking about how fun it would be to do it again in 25 years for our anniversary (lol maybe on a smaller scale). We had about 140 people and 75 of them slept over. It all just worked out perfectly. We highly recommended Camp Bournedale (Bournedale Function Facility).

If you are looking for a wedding, reception, and overnight accommodations providing elegance, charm, and very unique then Bournedale will not disappoint. The transformation from Summer Camp to Wedding Day is amazing and their attention to detail is unmatched. From the moment our families arrived on Saturday until departure on Sunday we were made to feel like family. Darin, Arnie, and staff are exceptional. My greatest expectations for my daughter's wedding day were exceeded. I will admit I was skeptical about the overnight cabins, but in the end, we had over 100 people stay and everyone had so much fun. The compliments our families received from our guests where heartwarming and the wedding celebration “raised the bar” on great wedding memories. We had a wedding ceremony on the beach, cocktail hour, reception, (food was excellent - hats off to Chef Ron), campfire on the beach, and brunch the next morning. If you visit Bournedale and have reservations that the site will not be elegant enough, please make sure you visit on a day a wedding is being held… It really is amazing.

We loved our wedding at Bournedale on September 4, 2010.
Since we were engaged Christmas of 2009 and didn't really plan on having a wedding right away, which means we didn't have a year or so to plan! I started looking at venues with my sister in March and April. I found the Bournedale Function Facility on line and thought the pictures were nice and the prices were reasonable compared to what we had been looking at. My fiance, Dan and I decided to take a look and went to the property - we met Darin. Since it was early spring, the leaves were not out yet and the property was under some renovations it was really hard to imagine what the property would look like in the summer and fall months. Darin was very open to working with us and our budget and we both loved the idea of having a bonfire on the beach after the wedding and having some of our guests stay on the property after the reception and bonfire.
The planning process was easy and Darin had a great menu to pick from. Darin made himself or one of the staff available for us whenever I wanted to bring a family member or my bridesmaids to the property to show them where we were going to get married.
When we went back to the property in August to take another look and firm up details the property was beautiful! The landscape was perfect the lawn was nice and green and the beach was spectacular!
Darin really made everything so easy. Our wedding was perfect the grounds were beautiful, the reception room looked great - Darin even made sure the bar had what we wanted to drink the night of our wedding. The bonfire was a the perfect end to our night - to sit and relax after the wedding with all of our closest friends and family.
The staff was great and everyone was helpful and they were dressed nice and neat and everything was clean. It was really a great experience.
I can't say enough about Bournedale.. our guests keep telling us what a great setting we had for the wedding.
We will definitely recommend it to friends and family!

The venue was beautiful. The staff was incredibly helpful and catered to our every need. The food was superb. We had our rehearsal dinner there as well, which left the wedding day really easy and worry-free. The ceremony was breathtaking - not a dry eye in the crowd. The reception was fun and the campfire was the perfect ending to a wonderful day. We had 150 guests and 120 of them slept overnight - We received many comments from our friends and family that it was the "best wedding of all time!"

Our experience every step of the way was outstanding. The staff were always available for questions and the attention to detail was excellent. Our day was 100% successful due to Darin and the team. We can't stop telling everyone how wonderful Bourdale is for any event but especially the most important day of your life.

The setting, food, drink and overall flow of the day was perfect! This organization really knows how to run an event so that the transition from wedding to cocktail hour to dinner and dancing was seamless. the function room is very large and so beautiful with floor to ceiling length windows looking out over the deck, lake and grounds. The landscaping was pristine and made for a beautiful setting for the wedding ceremony.

Darin and the whole staff at Bournedale was amazing. I highly recommend having your wedding there. The location is beautiful and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The food was awesome and the service was excellent.

If you are looking for a venue in the Plymouth or surrounding area, then Camp Bournedale it is. We had so many people tell us that they had a great time. The grounds are beautiful, the food was excellent, the staff was great, the overnight accommodations were great, the bonfire, everyone loved that idea. And lobster at a wedding, that was the first for many people. Right on Great Herring Pond with a beautiful view. It was wonderful. We are glad we choose this place.

The staff at Bournedale was AMAZING the weekend of my wedding. The venue is great - I love that I was able to use it overnight. Food was great, too. Overall, I can't say enough about Darin, Robin, Pam, Denice...the list goes on. Everyone was accommodating to what I thought were odd requests!

We were SO Happy with our wedding at Bournedale Function Facility. Darin, Robin, and Pam were absolutley fantastic to work with. Darin is so great with communicating back and forth with you which ofcourse is so important when planning your wedding. He helped plan each and every detail. I had a ton of decorations and they were more than accomadating in helping me set everything up. They even took everything down for me, packaged it up and helped put it back in my car the day after the wedding. The food was delicious! My entire wedding was more than happy with the prime rib, turkey, pasta station, and more.
All of my guests commented on how nice the staff was, how great the food was, how beautiful the facility is, and so much more. The grounds at Bournedale have just been redone, and it is gorgeous! We had the most amazing wedding day, and ofcourse it was with the help of Darin and the staff at Bournedale. If your looking for a unique, fun filled wedding - I would absolutley go with Bournedale Function Facility!

We absolutely loved the place where we had our wedding..if you are looking for a place to throw a wedding that is different than any one you've been to before, then this is the place.. when we were on the beach for our ceremony listening to he waves I felt like I was in a dream.. right after we booked it they did all sorts of beautiful renovations.. they did the landscaping all over.. so every picture we took outside had a beautiful back drop.. they built a stone wall with a beautiful staircase that we all walked down to the wedding and had flowers lineing the wall.. the inside of the hall was the perfect amount of space for all of our friends and family.. Their was a beautiful view of the lake pretty much from every table.. attached to the hall is a beautiful new porch that over looks the property. That was a big hit for the guests, especially the men who didn't like to dance and wanted to smoke their cigars.. They could still hear the music because there were windows everywhere.. We were able to get ready there in one of the larger cabins, which was on the lake.. and it just made the day flow so smoothley..they also let us in the night before to do anything that we needed to do.. as the guests showed up they were so impressed.. Darin was great.. even through all the changes I had to make throughout the year.. I had a little panick moment when I was about to lose my job and he worked with me to make it happen in a way that I could afford it with no worry.. He was easy to get a hold of and so great on the day of..Every time we would be thinking we needed something he would just appear... All the staff were very helpful.. the food was delicious.. Everyone was raving about the food... Nothing fancy just delicious.. We stayed over with our closest friends and didnt have to end the night after the reception.. They built a bonfire on the beach and put out seating for us.. It was just a great way to end the best day of our lives.. I can't say enough good things about the place and staff, we just loved the whole experience... loved..loved..loved it!!! Would pick it again!!

We had a great experience having our wedding at Bournedale. It's a beautiful venue, and having the place to ourselves for the weekend was excellent. The campfire after the reception was a unique and fun extension of the day. The cabins are a bit rustic, so just make sure your guests are up for it. Darin, the main contact, is very flexible and easy to work with. It was a pleasure.

My then-fiance and I first saw Bournedale on a cold, grey February day, about a year and a half before the wedding. We knew then that it was the perfect place for us. From the beautiful lake, to the awesome reception room, to the cabins that our guests could stay in – it was all perfect. We did the “Beach Wedding Extravaganze Package” which included a ceremony (not on the lake beach, but on the lawn), a cocktail hour, a dinner reception (buffet style), a looooooooong night of dancing, a post-reception bonfire on the beach, all of the cabins for our guests to stay in (we had about 110 guests, and about 60 stayed over), and breakfast the next morning. I really liked that it was a very open space – it felt like a blank canvas that we could really make our own. Everyone I dealt with at Bournedale, but especially Darin, was so nice, so accomodating, and it turned out just perfectly - we’re still having people tell us what a great time they had.

This place was awesome! All of our friends and family can't stop talking about it. If you are looking for a fun, casual, and personal alternative to an often uptight and overpriced wedding experience, this is your venue. The staff couldn't have been more friendly or accomodating, always making sure everyone was relaxed and having fun, and that's exactly what we did... we had a blast.
