Brann's Distinctive Catering

Brann's Catering catered my summer beach wedding on Lake Michigan on July 23rd 2011. The food was amazing. It was outstanding quality for a good price. I had a fajita buffet and taco bar that was self serve and the dinner portion went off without a hitch. The caterers were on time, the food was ready at the hour we requested and the staff was very polite and well dressed. One of the men caterering even gave me a little pep talk to calm my nerves about falling because I was standing where the food was before I began my walk down the aisle. The food was delicious, the staff was outstanding and the price was perfect. I would recommend this caterer to any bride that wanted a worry-free, amazing dinner with great presentation and great service.

Brann's was amazing. We went with a buffet style dinner and it went flawlessly, the food was hot and never ran out. Water and lemonade, as well as salad and rolls were provided for each table. The price was very reasonable, and I highly recommend this caterer to any bride looking for excellent food and service without breaking the bank!

Insufficient amount of appetizers, likely due to the fact the main appetizer never arrived. Prior to the wedding Brann's had said we could have any leftovers not served and even offered to bring covered pans to put them in, however, of the 13 meals that were never served, no leftovers at all were set aside. There were also inconsistency's in the service, some servers would wrap individual guest leftovers when requested, others refused. Basically they didn't follow through with what they said they would do. The food served was good. While they reimbursed us for the appetizer that never arrived they did not attempt to make any restitution for not setting aside any leftovers as agreed. A letter was addressed to the owner and he never had the courtesy even to respond.

Everyone at our wedding raved about our food. One of the things we liked best was the ability to take the left over food home. We had no issues with Branns and would suggest them to anyone.

Overall they were great. We did a plated option that was very cost efficient and from almost everyone I heard that the food was great, a couple here or there said it was under or overcooked but overall was very tasty. My only issues, and they are minor, was that they served the main meal very quickly after the salads...there was suppose to be more time inbetween though I think we may have been running a few minutes behind on schedule from the ceremony...not sure as I didn't have a watch. Also, our cake was served on disposable plates and silverware so that way I figured they wouldn't have to worry about cleaning it up, well they did clean it up anyways and I never even got a taste of my own wedding cake other than the cake cutting part (though I heard it was great)...that was a bit of a bummer to me. But I would recommend them, overall they were really good and well worth the money, much better costs than other places I looked at!

Brann's was a great place to get the catering from. They were great and very flexible. They solved some of the issues we had about the food with ease and I was very happy. The food was delicious and the level of service was very professional. Thanks for everything!!

Branns wedding and conference center was very beautiful and the wedding turned out wonderful. The food was awesome and the only problem we had was our cake was supposed to be served buffet style and it wasnt. other than that we got all the left overs and they were delicious!

It is hard to review Brann's because all of the planning leading up to the wedding was very smooth, and they were professional and flexible.The service *at* the wedding however was less than desirable. There were some menu items that never got served, and other issues throughout the night that left a bad taste in our mouth.They did however rectify the situation upon our complaint. In my opinion, it was just an off night for them, it seems they generally offer a great service. They came to us on recommendation.

Brann's was a great choice for our budget conscious wedding. We found the least expensive price with Brann's, and there food is really good. We were even able to select the Italian buffet, which was fantastic for us as our first date was at an Italian restaurant, and my fiance made an Italian dinner when he proposed.

So far so good, the wedding isn't here yet-but they had exactly what I wanted (stations) for a price I felt was reasonable...I'm a little worried about spacing because I want to do appeatizers as well - BUT my goal was to spend a reasonable amount, yet have very little for my family and friends to do :)

We where extremely satisfied with Brann's Catering.The food was inexpensive and very filling.Their set up was professional and their staff was friendly.Everyone was pleased with their performance.

I would recommend Brann's. The food was excellent. We did not have a good tasting experience. They only had two entrees for us to taste, one potato and no vegetables. Overall that was a waste of time. We had earlier signed a contract and then at the tasting were told that the options we had been offered on the contract were not available. To their credit, that did get worked out the next week and we were offered everything we had contracted for, and more. We were disappointed with the quality of the silverware and did rent better for the wedding. We also had some issues with the service. The bride's parents' table was the last to be served which did not seem right to us. And many people complained that their unfinished plates were taken away when they were not looking. But the food was attractively served and we had many comments on how well it tasted.

My husband and I got engaged 15 months before our wedding. For about 3 months, we researched different reception locations and catering options before we decided on the Brann's Catering & Conference facility.
We were able to go into the facility a couple of times before the wedding to check out how other weddings were setting up the facility for use. That was very helpful in deciding decoration and layout, etc.
Brann's does a "food tasting" event at different times during the year so that you know what the different options are. Some of them are also served at the restaurant, but not all. We missed the event prior to our wedding due to a work conflict and horrendous weather. So, they were very gracious in setting up a private tasting for the specific foods we were looking at.
The food was great and the prices were well in line with what we were looking for. One thing about using the Brann's facility, you have to use their bartending and alcohol. All in all, that was even reasonably priced.
The day of the wedding, they allowed our decorator in early to do the set up. She said that all of the staff was friendly and professional.
At the reception, all went well and there were no worries.

Brann's Catering was the best catering company for the price. Compared to the other vendors around the city of Grand Rapids, Branns' Catering was affordable, great food, and good location. The Conference center was just the right place for my wedding reception. The decor was very elegant and the just what I was looking for.

Brann's catering and a big backyard for our rehearsal dinner... 4th of July weekend and fireworks... It was a deal and it was great!

we got one of the low end options so it was in a buffet style however the food was amazing what was supposed to be hot was and what was supposed to be cold was, they kept bringing in food when it get low they did a very good job.

Very good food and very good prices mixed with very good flexibility when I needed to add a couple last minute things.

They provided me with all that I asked from them. Everyone loved the food they created it was worth what we paid them and they are the best !!!!

OVER ALL I WOULD HAVE PREFERED THEY'RE FOOD AT THE RESTUARANT. MOST OF MY GUESS THOUGHT SOME OF THE HOSTESSES WERE RUDE AND UNDER DRESSED AND BUDDING INTO MY GUEST CONVERSATIONS. BESIDES THERE WORK STAFF OVERALL I THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE OK.

The food was great! Everyone loved the meatballs and red skin potatoes. I have heard from many friends and family how much they enjoyed it! The one thing I didn't enjoy was seeing some of the waiters eating our leftovers in the kitchen where guests could see.

The food prices were very reasonable & had a lot of choices for meals or buffets. We opted for a more casual buffet & were very pleased w/ the variety.

The food was excellent and was one of the cheapest around town. They were very knowledgeable and willing to work with you on a budget.

I was throughly impressed with the service that Brann's provided on my wedding day and with the meetings that were held previously. The food was amazing and the price was unbeatable. They catered their services to my parents farm where I had the reception. They made the tent look so elegant and the food service was fantastic. They made me feel totally at ease and I did not have to worry about a thing.

The food was very good and it was the least expensive around this area.

We did the buffet style, and it worked out wonderfully! The only thing we had to do was supply some of the plates/silverware (I think!) :)

They were very flexible with creating our menu with what we wanted and some different allergy concerns. However, they ran out of appitizers before even 1/3 of the people were out of the church (thankfully, they ran to a nearby grocery store to get some more fruit/veggies and didn't charge us for it). Our reception was under a tent outside, and the food was delicious but a little bit cold by the time it got served. And...before they served us champange for the toast, they wanted to see everyone's ID, including the wedding party (the wedding party should have been carded before the reception).

Our wedding dinner was fabulous. We had steak and chicken with a white wine sauce, salad, green beans almondine and crusty rolls. Something for everyone. Even my uncle, who eats like a bird, cleaned his plate! Can't recommend Brann's highly enough. We fed about 80 people for our price.

I have done several weddings with Brann’s Catering and the food has always been great. I would recommend them for your event. Steven & Jessica Fox
