Breathtaking Bride

Jenn was absolutely amazing! My girls and I looked beyond beautiful on my wedding day...I couldn't have been happier!!! Thanks for everything Jenn, you are my beauty hero!

Jenn was wonderful to work with! She worked with me on my hair and make-up, and even came to my house for a trial run. On the day of my wedding, she and her team showed up - and had everyone done with time to spare (I had 11 girls getting hair, 7 makeup, and multiple lashes). Professional, fun and great to work with!

Jen and her assistants did the hair for me and all five of my bridesmaids for my wedding day in October. Everyone looked great! They all did updos and mine was part up, part down. Everything stayed in place and lasted all day.

Jen was great to work with. She spent a lot of time at the trial trying to get my hair the way I wanted it (there was a problem with the extensions I was planning to use). It definitely paid off. Getting ready was really relaxing, and Jen and her assistants were very efficient.

With all of the vendors who come to you, make sure you ask about how they operate, such as whether one person will do everyone's hair or if they will bring others to help, the time you should expect to start getting ready and finish, how many other clients they book on the same day, etc. No complaints specific to Jen here, just something to think about in general.

Jen was wonderful and super sweet. She did a great job with my massive amounts of hair and a last minute complete change-of-heart about my hairstyle choice. She is such a trooper. And my hair, make-up, and lashes lasted throughout the night! I received tons of compliments on how awesome I looked thanks to Jen.

I don't even know where to begin raving about Jennifer and her assistant... Let's just say overall, I have quite a lovely yet unorganized sister. She changed her mind and her plans with Jenn about 150 times. Jen touched base several times to confirm details. Showed up on time for the trial, pre-wedding and last minute full wedding day touch up addition. She and her assistant did all of the birdesmaids' and bride's hair and makeup quickly and efficiently. She even did a second hairstyle after the ceremony for my sister.

All of this was done with an easygoing attitude and her main concern was my sister's happiness her (and each girl's) approval with the final outcome of every detail.

I would recommend her to anyone without hesitation and I am by FAR on the pickier side of picky.

Jen is God sent! I was always battling with my looks and being self-conscious about the way I looked and was really apprehensive about the big day. When Jen showed up I knew I could count on her and relax a little. I was extremely shocked with the way I looked after she did my make up. I seriously could have been a model. She truly has a talent for this and I would recommend her to anyone!!! She was very patient with what I wanted, and recommended other looks for me as well that would compliment my features. She was super nice and I felt like I've known her for years. My husband was especially pleased with the way I looked and couldn't have been happier. We just love her! Thank you so much, Jen.

I would recommend Jen to anyone getting married. She not only did a great job but she is friendly, talented, and willing to help if you have any questions. Another added bonus was that she came to me. I have been in multiple weddings where we had to go to the salon. That takes up a lot of time and I did not want that for my wedding day. Having her come to me helped keep us on time which was super important.

I had a trial with Jennifer, the owner who is also the hair and make up artist. I thought my trial went ok, then I looked at the pictures I took from the trial the next day. When I zoomed in to view the quality of work is when I noticed what a bad job Jennifer did on my eyes. What is beyond me is, I am her number seven picture that she posted on this site to show off her work. She also has the same picture of me on her own website with the caption 'trial make up.' Please look at the poor job that is done on my eye shadow. The blending is horrible, you can see areas that are not covered at all, it looks so sloppy! The shadow done on one eye does not even resemble the other eye. On my darker skin you can certainly see what a bad job was done but apparently she thinks her work is great and even posted the bad work on her website thinking it looks good. Once you see the picture for yourself, you will know exactly why I am giving 1 star. If I could, I would give less than that. It will be interesting to see how long she keeps my picture up.

After reviewing my pictures from the trial, I sent Jennifer a long email including about 10 pictures of how I would like my eyes to look and requested she be more precise on the day of the wedding. I completely blame myself for choosing Breath Taking Bride to do my wedding make up and hair along with the hair and make up of my bridesmaids. It was against my better judgement but I found Jennifer to be very sweet and I made the decision to choose her as I live out of state and did not have the time to make another trip down to St. Louis to have more hair and make up trials done.

On the day of my wedding, Jennifer brought an assistant which seemed to do a better job than herself. All three of my bridesmaids left the suite individually and re-did their own make up as they were completely disgusted in what was done to them. None of them told me (the bride) as they did not want to stress or worry me on my wedding day. They each paid Jennifer for her services and let her be on her way. Only weeks later did they tell me they all redid their own make up.

As for my own make up, I was feeling ok about it especially after looking at the girls and thinking she did theirs as well. I had very little time to really even look at myself and now I feel this is one of the biggest mistakes I could have made on my wedding day. I ran to the bathroom a couple times and asked her to cover a small ball of glue that was visible from the faux lashes she put on me. She claims this was not the case as the glue dries clear but when it is a small ball of glue and not a thin line, it shows up as is very much so visible (this is just one of my many complaints I expressed to her in an email after the wedding). As her assistant was working on my hair, Jennifer came and stood to my right side and she herself noticed that there was a smudge or something that she had made on the right side of my face. She proceeded to tell me she must have had glue on her hand and worked at fixing the smudge that was on the right side of my face. I was reassured that she fixed it. I did not even have time to do a second look after it was "fixed" as the photographer was about to arrive and my hair wasn't even done. My hair needed to be redone about three times and it still did not resemble what I wanted. At one point, Jennifer took over to finish my hair and again, it did not resemble what I wanted or even what she had done herself at our trial.

Once I started being tagged in pictures from friends on facebook and even our professional photographer is when I noticed two very big make up mistakes on my FACE. It looks as though some concealer under my left eye was not blended at all as there is a small blob that is lighter than the rest of my face along with the dark smudge on the right side of my face in EVERY single picture. I now need to have all of my professional pictures re-touched up thanks to Breath Taking Bride. Once I voiced my unhappiness to Jennifer in an email she claims this was not her doing and continued to be extremely rude and nasty. I can't believe a professional make up artist would do such a horrible job and then try to say to the bride, that she must have done it herself to sabotage her own wedding pictures. She also asked why I am bringing it up weeks later. If I had known that there were make up mistakes on my FACE, would I not try to fix them on the day of MY wedding?? Obviously, I did not know that she did such a horrible job until I started seeing the pictures. I would have never in a million years thought this would be the outcome of using this service. To try to make this extremely long review a little shorter, AVOID USING BREATH TAKING BRIDE AT ALL COSTS or you too will be paying your photographer to fix her mistakes if that is even possible. Oh, and, the curls in my hair did not even make it to the end of my wedding service. Going forward, I will give any future bride the advise of finding a great hair and make up artist as it is one thing you should splurge on in addition to a great photographer as you will have the pictures forever.

9/22/11 -- Just noticed the response by vendor and I have to say this is the first time I am seeing any request by her to see any pictures. In fact, I sent her a picture and after receiving it is when Jennifer said it was not her doing. I have plenty of un-edited pictures to provide but now being months later... whats the point, the damage has already been done. Also, after a couple email exchanges, Jennifer being the super professional, said she will be blocking all of my emails so I did the same to her. Guess your request to view the pictures were blocked.

First, let me say I couldn't be happier! Jenn definitely made me feel like a breathtaking bride & more on my wedding day. I can't believe how fast & perfect she was in getting my hair & make-up done in the amount of time, IN ADDITION to my out of town Bridal Party. Knowing that Jenn was there doing such a great job with the hair & make-up was one of the best things, and had taken a big-load off my shoulders. I still can't thank her enough for all her quality services & affordable pricing. She also has a great personality that put me at ease & lowered my stress level at the trial session & my wedding. If I hear of any of my friends getting married in Missouri, Breathtaking Bride will be the first thing I mention, after saying Congratulations! Thanks again for helping make the best day of my life come true & dreams come true. <3 Lydia

Jen is amazing. She is very talented and easy to work with. She made getting ready stress free. We had a trial at my home and then she came to my hotel for day of makeup and hair. She is very responsive! I will def be using her again.

Jennifer was able to create the look I wanted from a picture. I just wish I had a bit more hairspray as it was a windy day. Make up stayed on all day and looked great! Overall it was a fun experience.

Jen was simply the best vendor I worked with during my wedding planning process. She is very sweet, easy-going, and knowledgeable but best of all does the best hair and makeup. She will make you feel gorgeous and relaxed on your day! I highly recommend her services to any bride. She will make you the Queen you deserve to be on your big Day!!!!!!!

I was very pleased with the quality of her work and the prices fit right into my budget. She was very professional and had a great personality. I enjoyed her services and would definetly use her again in the future.

Jennifer does an absolutely wonderful job at hair and make-up. She has done my hair and make-up for several events and I have always been 100% satisfied. She really listens to what you are wanting done, but is also skilled enough to offer new ideas and suggestions that might fit you well. My wedding day was awesome and it was due to the fact that I didn't have to stress out about my make-up. Jen did a fabulous job and it made my day less hectic. She was on time, friendly, professional and had a great attitude! I felt people were looking at me not my makeup because she did such a great job!
