The Briarhurst Manor was the ideal place for our wedding. It had the scenery that we were looking for. A lot of other places that we looked at were not as beautiful outside as the Briarhurst was. The grass was constantly green and thats what really attracted us to this venue. Janice was a great planner for our wedding, she was very patient with any concerns that we had and gave us really good ideas throughout the entire planning. The menu to choose from provided a great variety for any type of meal. On the day of our wedding, the staff was great not only to us, but our guests as well. Steve, the banquet captain, really helped make our day enjoyable and treated us like king & queen. He tended to our needs and really provided us with the quality of service we were looking for on our special day. If I could do it all over again, the Briarhurst would definitely be a place that I choose.

The Briarhurst Manor was the perfect place for our wedding. You won't find a more beautiful location in colorado springs or manitou springs. Everything was done perfectly, and the staff is so wonderful!

EXQUISITE in EVERY WAY: MAGICAL WEDDING!!!!
Briarhurst Manor is one of the most gorgeous, magical, BEAUTIFUL, ROMANTIC places for a wedding (and a fun dinner date!).
My husband and I were married there March, 27th, 2010 and couldn't have been more pleased. Janice, our event coordinator was SUPERB! She worked with us to give us our dream wedding and within our budget too!
The Briarhurst is also the perfect place for wedding pictures!
Not to mention their food is THE BEST we ever tasted. The Steak Diane was so tender...just everything is done to perfection.
When we arrived from our ceremony, Jeremy and I were whisked to the Briarhurst front doors, the attendants parked for us, and we were attended to in every detail.
I could go on and on about the Briarhurst.
If you aren't getting married, then go to their restaurant for an elegant, sophisticated atmosphere and enjoy anything on the menu. Everything is 5 star.
As a bride, I felt comforted in knowing every detail would be taken care of without my working about it.
The conservatory is such a great place for a reception with the elegant bar, the fireplace, the coffee bar, the dance floor, the pearls strung from the ceiling.
This day was so magical for us...the Briarhurst had a huge part in creating that atmosphere for us and our guests.
I'd recommend the Briarhurst over any location in Colorado. It is Divine, romantic, lovely, and everything they do there is done with such care.
We LOOOOVE Briarhurst Manor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.s Ask for Janice, she is AMAZING and will make your wedding a dream come true!!

This place is the most beautiful wedding venue in the Colorado Springs/Manitou area. The staff was very helpful and professional and coordinated all of the tastings, as well as gave us suggestions to other vendors to use for various things. The food was wonderful and the grounds were picture perfect. I couldnt have asked for a better place to get married!

The venue is gorgeous and the price was excellent. The only negatives were about the bar. We requested that they not serve wines over a certain price per glass and found out later that this request had been ignored. We paid 20% gratuity on alcohol and had to additionally request that they not put out a tips jar.

The Briarhurst Manor did an amazing job helping with my 9/25/11 wedding. The food was perfect! It was a buffet and remained hot and fresh until everyone was done eating. The staff were very friendly, and always there to help. This place is beautiful, and a wonderful place to get married at. Thank you!!

We really enjoyed working with the staff at the Briarhurst for our wedding. It was difficult to get quick responses over emails, especially since it was a busy wedding season for the staff, but they were available and helpful in person and over the phone. We only had an issue with how under-prepared the bar was for alcoholic drinks for our guests. There was a lack of cold beer stocked behind the bar, and several guests ordered beer that they did not like while waiting for the newly stocked beer to get cold. Otherwise, we had a great day and the floor manager and the wait staff were amazingly efficient and had the place set up to our liking! We would recommend couples to attend meetings with the event coordinators as often as possible, and be sure to meet all of the payment deadlines!

The Briarhurst is absolutely gorgeous. The first time I saw it, I fell in love. I think the value for all you get is amazing. Our food was beyond incredible and I can't reccommend them higher!!!

My husband and I planned our wedding from California so it was important to have someone reliable, helpful and reassuring to help us plan our wedding ceremony and reception. The Briarhurst worked with us for 10 months by phone and emails alone and the end result was surprisingly that I couldn't have asked for much better. We had seen the grounds only once and Janice helped us every step of the way with receommendations from everything from the minister to the flowers to the dj. In the end we were thrilled at how wonderful everything turned out. The ceremony site in the gazebo area was just as I imagined, the cocktail hour outside was set up beautifully and the reception area, to my surprise was set up better than I could have expected for not having seen it all before. We were so happy with the professionalism of Janice and the Briarhurst staff and it was well worth having our wedding out of state despite all our initial apprehensions. In addition, my husband and I were very pleased that we had our wedding on a Sunday as we were the only ones on site and saved money. The only recommendation I would make is to make sure the contract is read thoroughly because it is quite lengthy. We were able to avoid disappointments or surprises simply by reading and understanding it thoroughly. We absolutely loved the Briarhurst for our wedding and reception.

This venue was perfect. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to have my wedding. The only thing I had a problem with was the fact that the staff and our wedding coordinator did not communicate. There were a lot of things that we were told that the staff was clueless about when we brought it up to them.

Beautiful ceremony location. They took care of so many details for me. It was very helpful and reduced a lot of stress.

The only feedback I can really give is towards the food. I enjoyed it, but many people said it was just okay. The portions were a little small as well. Other than that, we really had the best day and all of the planning was so easy because of the Briarhurst!

Our wedding here was beautiful. The food was great (though I wish that they had asked us if we wanted the leftovers since we didn't get to try everything). They worked very well with our other vendors and we didn't have any problems with the guests (our wedding was held outside at the West Terrace Gazebo).

Lovely venue to have a ceremony and reception in.They serve an excellent four course meal. All of the services they provided was worth it.

This venue is breathtaking, fun, great food. The only thing that bothered my family and I was the way they bothered us for money DURING our wedding reception dinner. We had a reasonable, fair price, and were alerted of every "hidden cost" beforehand, but at the actual event, we had an unexpected (though welcome!) guest show up and skew the dinner count. We had no problem paying for the extra plate, but did the staff have to come up to my husband and I DURING our meal to ask us for payment?? I don't think that was necessary. My family and friends were not happy about that, but that was the only complaint I have about Briarhurst Manor. The grounds are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the memories we have of the manor are priceless.

I loved this place it was historic and beatuiful. The gardens were beautiful and it was perfect for our outdoor wedding. The downfal was it is also a resturant and when i went to take some of our pictures we were in peoples way or we were being told to leave that aera for other guests. I also did not enjoy my coordinator, allison. She was always busy with someone else and was rushing me through my big day. But the service besides her was amazing. We had a blast!
GUEST

The venue was great. Received many compliments on the food and atmosphere. Had a lot of headaches with the event planning staff and the restrictions, though. Would recommend for a VERY small wedding without bells and whistles. Any large event would probably give you much additional stress that you already don't need on your special day!

Beautiful setting, and the food is delicious. They were able to come up with some vegetarian options with some proding. Just be warned that they do not stick to the same recipe from tasting to the event. My husband is violently allergic to corn. (This was all over the contract.) They completely changed the recipe for the event. (It did not even look similar to the tasting entree.) The main entree was breaded in corn chips. Thank goodness I took the first bite, and warned him not to eat it. Otherwise my husband and I woudl have spent our wedding reception in the ER. We also had at thier suggestion ordered some hanging flower balls for the dance floor. The refused to let my florist hang them because they liked the false flowers another person had hung up there a week prior. (They were ugly and tacky in my opinion.) We dropped several hundred dollars on those flower ball arrangements to have them sit on the corner of the bar. If you use Briarhurst make sure you specifically have them write down your detailed instructions, and get a copy, so you have recourse if they do not follow through with thier promises.

The Briarhurst was beautiful and I wouldnt have wanted it anywhere else, but I was rather displeased with the service I received. The food was great, but it was presented as a buffet rather than a heavy coctail reception. Initially i was told the wrong time that we were booking the site for, and when we were taking pictures around the manor the staff was rather rude and pushy. We paid for the service there, and was basically told if we did not take pictures before the ceremony we would not be allowed to take some of the pictures that we wanted

Briarhurst is a beautiful venue. There are multiple planners there and I think the planner that you end up with will drastically impact your experience with them. All in all, I think I would still recommend them for a wedding venue but it wont be without a few difficulties along the way. Watch the contract...the deposit is huge and they are not flexible at all in working with you. Make sure you make your minimum as low as possible to start out so that you arent stuck trying to spend more money than you have to. The food and service is very good but we had our issues. They are still being worked out after the fact. Document everything and be very specific. You can have a great wedding here, just be very aware of all of the details. They need to pave their parking lot and they need to update some of the furnishings, specifically chairs in the conservatory; however, they have no intentions of doing so. There we several "mistakes" the day of that have made me somewhat jaded but they are working with me to try and remedy the situation.

The owner and his daughter of the this establishment are currupt people! Verbally the owner's daughter told us that we would be able to change our wedding date and not loose our $2.300 deposit. After our original date had passed, the owner told us that wehad indeed (according to their contract) lost that money. His daughter negotiated to use a portion of that deposit towards a rehearsal dinner. As that date got closer, she informed me (the bride, at an appointment for which she was 30 minutes late!) that I would be responsible for writing out the place cards with my guests' meal choices and distributing the cards at the dinner to insure swift food service. Isn't that what they are paid to do at the bride's rehearsal dinner?!!
At this point, I filed a complaint with the better business bureau. Reasoning that there was no way to work out the mess before the rehearsal dinner, we had our dinner at another location. The BBB labeled our case as a "contract issue" and did nothing. After I specifically requested contact via email, the BBB sent me a physical letter that came to my house, at some point, a few days prior to the wedding day. Since we were a "no show" according to Briarhurst Manor, they charged my husband's credit card an additional $330.00 for food service that we did not receive!
All in all, they took about $3,000.00 from us and provided us with no service. I have called VISA, "Call to Action" and obviously the BBB and have had no help. I only hope that you will not become entangled with their unimaginable customer service. They are an horribly unethical establishment who should not have the priviledge to represent such an historic landmark!
We love working at the Briarhurst! The food is terrific and the setting is fantastic for taking photos!
I LOVE the Briarhurst Manor, perfect in EVERY way! What better way to make your special day so wonderful and memorable!!!
When I officiated at a wedding at Briarhurst Manor, they were extremely helpful--not only to me, but to the bride and groom and all the family members. It's a class place, beautiful and well-kept, can't wait to come back!
