I am sorry to say that our experience hiring Bridal Bliss for full-time wedding coordination was disappointing to the extreme.

There were many frustrations working with Christina Palmer (coordinator) on wedding planning. For one, when convincing us to sign up, Nora mentioned that Bridal Bliss can often secure discounts with vendors. Well, Christina did not really do any negotiating on our behalf. In fact, it often seemed that she served as a mere secretary, passing a contract from vendors to us without as much as reading it. For example, our DJ contract had half a sentence missing (it literally said "In the event of cancellation." with nothing after the period). And for the floral contract, the sum of the different parts did not add up to the final total. Since my husband and I discovered these (and other) omissions, we were left to review each and every contract ourselves, adding to our stress. In fact, we confronted Nora with our frustrations several months before the wedding, and she emphatically promised to handle negotiations and contracts herself going forward. She then did NOTHING.

Nora and Christina also refused to return the phone calls of my husband's parents (who by the way were financially helping with the wedding). That not only showed extreme lack of professionalism, but, as you can imagine, added immensely to our stress level.

The wedding day itself was well executed, and my now-husband and I appreciated that we could relax while Christina handled the details. However, we later discovered that several thousand dollars were stolen from our gift box during the wedding. This incident did not improve our mounting frustrations with Bridal Bliss.

I could keep going, but I would rather put this expensive mistake behind us and move on. Were there things that Bridal Bliss did well? Yes: Christina was responsive, and had a lot of good suggestions. But the overall experience fell far short from the promises.

Working with Bridal Bliss was an absolute pleasure. Nora helped me understand right away what our needs were and she paired us with Christina, who we absolutely adored. Christina was there for us through it all, meeting with vendors, talking through budget, managing my stress level and ensuring that every detail was perfect for our big day! It would have not been the same without Christina and I thank her and Bridal bliss from the bottom of my heart. Hiring this amazing company is worth every penny. They are able to save you money, save you stress, help you make decisions and enable you to enjoy your wedding day like you're supposed to!

I worked with Bridal Bliss for my "day of" coordination. I really, really wanted to use them for the full coordination package and if you can make it work with your budget I would say go for it. I was planning the wedding from San Francisco so I had the added stress of doing it from afar. We are Persian so we worked with Katy (who is also Iranian) and Emily and initially had a lot of contact with Nora and I can't say enough great things about all of them. Katy had great connections for all the "persian stuff" that we needed. Her aunt put together the traditional sofreh and it was just stunning. They also had great connections with vendors and we got some really great deals. Bridal Bliss is very well respected throughout the "wedding community" in Portland and it just kept reaffirming for me that we had made the right choice in working with them. Katy was also possibly not going to make it as she was pregnant and due like, RIGHT after the wedding but I think she knew that it was important to me that she be there, at least through the ceremony...and so she came, and she was so calming to me for the first look process, and leading up to the ceremony. And Emily stayed through the reception and kept everything moving....I could rave about them forever. Everyone was super responsive and flexible, and they went the extra mile for me on many of the pieces during the planning process. I couldn't have pulled it off without them and the day was absolutely magical.

We used Bridal Bliss for day of wedding planning/coordinating and were extremely pleased with how helpful our planner's services were. I met with our planner twice before the wedding, and she did a great job of checking in and communicating via email in between meetings to make sure everything was on track. She helped us make sure we weren't missing any details and came up with a day of timeline for us to work through. The week of the wedding, she spoke to all of my vendors to confirm their services and coordinate their timing, allowing me to enjoy friends and family without worrying about final details. She also ran our rehearsal and made sure everyone understood their roles in the ceremony. The day of the wedding, she took care of much of the set up and generally made everything go smoothly -- she even managed to fix a broken bridesmaid dress zipper. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Bridal Bliss planning to another bride, and I'm so grateful to our planner for making everything go so smoothly.

We hired the Bridal Bliss team as our “day of” coordinator; from our initial meeting with Nora to meeting our coordinator Shauna everything was flawless. Shauna was a perfect fit for my husband and me. With most of the vendors picked and the wedding ceremony and reception site picked and reserved, Shauna started by meeting with us several times before the wedding making sure she was up-to-date on all the vendors and their details. Shauna was always just a phone call or email away, offering great advice and just calming my nerves.

Shauna was my life saver when we had a sticky situation with one of my vendors she made sure that I got just what I had wanted and even worked overtime the night before the wedding!! On the actual wedding day, Shauna took care of everything so everyone in the wedding party and families could ENJOY the day!!

I would recommend Bridal Bliss and their team to anyone. With them you are guaranteed a flawless and stress free wedding!!

I live in Seattle, but got married outside of Portland, so I wanted some help planning and finding the right vendors. Nora from Bridal Bliss made such a difference. The planning went so smoothly and all of our vendors were amazing. The day of the wedding Emily was at the event and she made sure everything started on time and that we didn't have to worry about anything. I have been dreaming about my wedding day for as long as I can remember. As someone who loves party planning, it was the happiest day of my life when he proposed. I was so excited about all the little details and I wanted to pour all my creative energy into this day. I read blogs, magazines and anything wedding related I could get my hands on. I was like a wedding sponge! I had so many ideas and I didn’t know how to make it all work. All the little details, decisions, and the difficult task of planning a wedding from another state began to stress me out. Soon it became too much and I started to hate the whole process. To make matters worse, my original wedding planner (not from Bridal Bliss of course) was absolutely no help. She talked a big game but turned out to be very inexperienced, disorganized and had little knowledge about the vendors in Portland. After several weeks of tears and frustration, I ended it with this coordinator and hired Christina Palmer at Bridal Bliss. It was the smartest thing I ever did! Christina saved our wedding and turned the whole experience around. She was an absolute joy to work with and I can’t say enough good things about her. She’s smart, organized, honest, creative and just plain AMAZING! She was on top of everything and was also able to pass on a few vendor discounts. We had a fabulous wedding day and my family and bridal party all loved her as well.

I reached out to Nora when I started planning my Portland wedding, all the way from Washington, D.C. The Bridal Bliss team came highly recommended from some of the vendors which I knew I wanted to work with, as well as some local brides. After talking with Nora for a bit about my wedding and needs, she connected me with Christina. She was FABULOUS for our wedding that was less than "traditional," in a raw space that required someone to stay on top of everything. Throughout the planning process, she would offer input and creative suggestions that I would have otherwise overlooked. She put all of my event planner anxieties to rest and allowed me to enjoy my day (rather then feeling like it was another day of work for me!). Christina was fantastic to work with from start to finish. Their reputation in Portland is dead-on - I would HIGHLY recommend them to any friend, family member or random person on the street.

I live in New York City so planning a wedding in Portland, Oregon was a really daunting task...until I hired Bridal Bliss. Nora Sheils and her team are absolutely amazing! They know everything there is to know about the wedding industry in Portland and have great relationships with all of the best vendors in town. Plus they are a really creative bunch of people who are dedicated to making your wedding special and memorable. My particular planner was Christina Palmer and she was awesome!! I am so Lucky That Bridal Bliss was recommended to me by many people. At First I did not think of hiring anyone, and than when I realized how busy my schedule was already going to be aside from the wedding planning. Nora helped with everything from the organization of the planning to dealing with other vendors. Because of Nora Not only did I not stress about the wedding at all, but everything looked top notch from floral to band to food t lighting. This really was an amazing day and Bridal Bliss is Amazing, and I really am so happy that I hired them, and so is my Husband, I dont think we could be more satisfied with the wedding because of Bridal Bliss.

As a long-distance bride, I took my time finding a Portland wedding planner. I looked through all the 'top' and 'best of' lists and narrowed it down to three candidates, whom I emailed and consulted by phone. Nora at Bridal Bliss really stood out from our initial consultation. She sounded professional and experienced, and came up with some cool ideas right on the spot.

Over the next 9 months, Megan P., our day-of coordinator, took on more and more of our wedding planning, and my husband and I really liked her, too! She was very flexible and accommodating when we were only able to come in town for a few days prior to the wedding, and she and Nora did a great job communicating and following up with us. Nora steered us toward an amazing vendor for our cake, and was very patient when I went through 3 different hair and makeup trials to finally be satisfied. :) We also went through last-minute reprinting for our programs, and they handled that well, too.

The wedding itself was amazing! I love that I didn't have to stress about calling vendors and coordinating everything; being a bride is stressful enough, trust me! We had a church wedding, followed by a cultural ceremony, followed by a 2-room cocktail hour with an additional room open for dinner.... So Megan had her hands full day-of, but ensured everything went beautifully.

I have been planning my wedding since I received my first Martha Stewart Wedding magazine at the age of 13. Now 30 years old and very busy with work, 2 dogs, and a new house, I realized quickly that I needed a wedding planner. Nora is an amazing wedding planner. She helped me set a realistic budget and focus on the details while keeping an eye on the big picture as well. I never doubted her vendor recommendations and she attended every vendor meeting. When I walked into the ballroom the first time I was awestruck by how stunning the room looked and how well everything went together. Plus, I had a great time and didn't have to worry about anything, which was amazing because it was an intricate set up with over 4000 origami cranes and a lot of handmade details. My biggest pet peeve about weddings is when they do not flow well, and our wedding flowed perfectly thanks to Nora.

If anyone reading this review is hesitating about hiring a wedding planner because of the cost, Nora also helped negotiate great contract prices that more than paid for her services. In addition, Nora was very cognizant of my budget and helped me have a beautiful event that was within my means. Also, the fact that my family and friends just showed up and had a good time = priceless.

We hired Katy of Bridal Bliss as a "day of" wedding planner since we had done a lot of early legwork initially. Katy started by meeting with us several times before the wedding to make sure she was up-to-date on all the vendors & their details. She offered advice when asked and was very professional and prepared. She read people very well when coordinating and working with all of our vendors, and helped us get through a sticky situation or two by acting as our liaison. On the wedding day, Katy put in overtime hours for us to make sure every detail was in place. She was a lifesaver when we couldn't locate several items and she knew just where to find them. She even texted us an answer after everyone had gone home. Katy was a joy to work with: capable, personable, and hard working. She was worth her weight in gold!

Hiring Bridal Bliss is a MUST for anyone planning a wedding in the Portland area!

We worked with Katy, and she was absolutely fantastic to work with. We hired her as a Day-Of wedding planner, but we met with her several times in the months leading up to our wedding. She helped us create a framework of what we needed to do and when, which was super helpful. After we hired all of our vendors, she communicated with all of them in advance to coordinate and plan for the wedding day - this was a HUGE stress reliever! She was so responsive and prompt with every question that we asked of her.

Most importantly, my family, bridesmaids, and I didn't have to worry at all about the wedding day. Everything that Katy was in charge of coordinating went off flawlessly. We just got to have fun, dance, and enjoy the night. Hiring a Day-Of planner is worth every penny you will spend. We had a FANTASTIC experience with Katy, and we cannot recommend her or Bridal Bliss highly enough.

Nora is amazing and is the most knowledgeable wedding person in town. She has great suggestions for venues, flowers, rentals, and all the other details that I didn't even know about prior to the planning process. In addition, everyone in town knows and like working with Nora so if you get in with her, you'll be in good hands.

My sister's wedding was spectacular and fun and that is largely due to Nora and Bridal Bliss.

Many women dream about their wedding day for years. They imagine songs, flowers, dresses, and themes…overflowing with ideas long before the day they get engaged. I wasn’t that girl. I was so excited to get married and start my life with my new husband, but the thought of planning the wedding in 8 months while maintaining a full-time job and active lifestyle seemed like a daunting task.

I interviewed four local wedding planners. When I met Nora, I knew immediately she was the one to make our day unforgettable. Nora has a relaxed confidence about her that put my mind at ease several times throughout the planning process. Hiring a wedding planner is the single most important decision to make when you’re ready to start creating your big day. And without a doubt, Nora is simply the best in the business.

Our friends and family had an absolute blast that night. We received so many compliments about how beautiful everything looked and how seamless the evening played out. One close friend made a “guess” as to the cost of the event and was sure it was double what we put in. How will I ever thank Bridal Bliss enough for making my wedding amazing? Nora is a lifesaver. I have zero creativity and I had zero vision for my wedding but that didn't matter...because Nora assigned a coordinator who just happened to also be a stylist and one of the most creative and talented people I have ever met (Kimberly, you are awesome). Nora must have known it would be a perfect fit. I met with Kimberly once before the wedding, and when I left the meeting I was 100 percent confident that Kimberly would make everything look great. My daughter, Abby, was married October 8 and Nora was our guide throughout the process. She exceeded all expectations any of our family had.

Nora has a calm, well balanced perspective and a knowledge base next to none. She kept us on track throughout and responded to any questions we had within hours. I do ot have enough accolades to describe her competence and ability to get things done. Her attention to detail enhanced the wedding day.

We all had such a memorable day and I know it would not have been near the experience without Nora's leadership. We did not have to worry about one thing the day of the wedding. The ceremony and reception went off like a well oiled machine! Our family forgot we were hosting the affair we all had so much fun! If I could give Bridal Bliss ten stars I would!!!

I am late on posting this review but I can't let more time go by before letting future brides and their parents know how INCREDIBLE Bridal Bliss is! Norah and her staff took the "tears, fears, anxiety" out of planning a wedding. After guiding and advising my daughter on every vendor, dress, jewelry, everything you can imagine, Norah told me to "just show up and everything will happen." She was so right! I was the most relaxed I've ever been at a function, especially my daughter's wedding. It was beautiful, everything we imagined, plus fun! Looking back we all agree that when budgeting for a wedding you can do without a lot, but you can't do without Bridal Bliss!

Nora is not only the BEST wedding planner, she is also a terrific person who makes the whole wedding process FUN, memorable and special. Every time my husband and I contacted Nora regarding wedding details, she always answered our questions right away and made us feel like we could always depend on her. Nora is organized, calm, funny and full of energy. She always took the time to check in with us regarding EVERY detail, but also did not overwhelm us with too many wedding tasks, decisions, etc. Some things we love about Nora is that she is open and willing to work with many different vendors, is very creative and makes sure your wedding is what you and your fiance envision from the beginning. I have personally seen Nora in action at weddings where I work and she is the QUEEN of multitasking, while always having a smile on her face and making sure things run smoothly. My mom originally thought we only needed a wedding planner for the day-of, but after we met with Nora the first time, my mom said she could not imagine the entire wedding planning process without her there every step of the way! Nora is very responsible and a true artist in her profession. We were honored to have Nora as our wedding planner and are so thankful she helped make our wedding the best day in our lives!!!

Nora did a fabulous and creative job on my daughter and son in law's wedding. We hired Nora because she came highly recommended by several people we know. The bridal party was spread all over the western states and coordination was a big task. The bride and groom live in San Diego and the Wedding was in Portland, Oregon. Nora streamlined the hundreds of decisions and details into a painless process. She saved us money with discounts from several vendors. Time was not wasted because Nora took us straight to the best resources. We are very happy with the outcome and can highly recommend her work. She is cheerful, full of energy, focused and gets the work done quickly.

Nora did an AMAZING job planning the wedding of our dreams for my husband and I. We live in San Diego and our wedding was in Portland so we had to plan our wedding mainly by email, phone, and a couple of short visits. At first I was a little overwhelmed by the idea of planning an out of town wedding, but as soon as we hired Nora I knew that there was nothing to worry about. After my now husband and I got engaged we immediately started looking for a wedding planner. There was no way that we could have planned a wedding alone because of our work schedules! We met with several wedding planners and Nora was by far the most professional and she and I clicked very well. Nora is an incredible wedding planner and a must-have asset for any bride-to-be and their family. Planning a wedding is full of difficult tasks and Nora is the experienced guide you need with great recommendations, vendors and knowledge that will make your wedding everything you want it to be. Priceless. That is how I would describe Nora and her team. There are so many reasons to hire Nora but there is one that really stands out me. On our wedding day I woke up relaxed and excited. I spent the day getting ready with my friends and did not think twice about what was happening at the church or the Portland Art Museum. I was not worried about when the flowers were being delivered, whether the tables were set how I had envisioned, what time we were being picked up, was everything in order with the catering. Nor was my mom, dad, future husband, my sister, or my mother in law.

Everyone was able to be present and have a great time. When we arrived to the church and to the art museum we didn’t have to worry about what time speeches were happening or when to be where. We were able to party with all the people we loved.

My sister got engaged a little over a year ago and my entire family was thrilled and so happy for her. Not only were we excited for my sister to have snagged such a great guy (and for her boyfriend to become a part of our family)...but I personally immediately had visions of what a fun-filled weekend we'd have! Full of fancy dinners, gorgeous dresses, fake eyelashes (yes!), candellit tables, the smell of elaborate flower arrangements, exquisite wines, champagne toasts, double decker bus rides, photo booth costumes and catered after parties. Ahhh....I couldn't WAIT!!
I floated back to reality when my mom called me a couple days after her big announcement to give me a long lecture about how much work, help and moral support both of us were going to have to give my sister in order to help her plan a wedding (which all three of us had never done before). Ugh!
When my sister decided she was going to hire Nora, I think our entire family let out a collective sigh of relief.
From the time Nora started working with my sister, I honestly didn't have more than a couple small conversations with both my mom and sister about planning the wedding. I was shocked! My sister was completely non-bridezilla-ish (not that I expected she would be, of course) and my worrisome mom seemed unusually calm and relaxed. Every detail was outlined and organized and Nora had numerous contacts for my sister to choose from for every aspect of her rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception.
As the maid of honor, I felt a (VERY) slight twinge of guilt that I wasn't more helpful.
The wedding weekend was perfect! From transportation for family members, to hotel reservations and gift bags....from the rehearsal dinner to the catered lunch the next day while we were all getting ready. The photographer was amazing and the flowers were gorgeous. It rained on my sister's wedding day and I almost thought Nora may have planned that just for the beautiful photos the wedding party got under black umbrellas next to our big red double decker bus. The reception went off without a hitch, the food was amazing, everyone had a blast, and the after party was perfect.
I can't thank Nora enough for what she did the past year for my sister, myself and my whole family! She made my sister's wedding something we will never forget, and something we will all look back on with fond memories, no stress involved.

Groom here! Just a few words of wisdom. Been to and in more weddings than I can count, so I knew a wedding planner was a good idea. Weddings that didn't have one, typically, should have had one. The organization, stress releaf, and overall flow of the wedding just makes it worth it. Nora excels in all of these areas. Being the groom you don't always understand the pressure for the bride in wedding planning, while Nora is there to be a great resourse and expert at being proactive to make any stress for the bride as limited as possible.
