The cake was very beautiful and wonderfully designed, however the owner was not very responsive with emails which caused for a mistaken appointment. She is very talented but very set in her ways. (Old School)

The cake was beautiful in design and looked exactly like I ordered. However some of my wedding guest said they had a different flavor of cake than I had ordered even though I wanted differently layers and was told with my package that wasn't an option. But everyone still thought it was delicious.

Bridal Cakes by Ann has the best tasting cake!!!! Very moist and a lot to chose from. My husband and I had a lot of decision making when we did the cake testing!!! All of her cakes are soooo good!!! when I walked in the reception and saw my cake I was so happy on how it look!!! the cake looked elegant!!!! My guest as well enjoyed the cake. It was very tasteful!!!! We worked with Ann ourselves she was very sincer and geniune! We made the right choice with getting our cake by Ann!!

Ann was great to work with! One of the nicest vendors I dealt with while planning my wedding. She made cupcakes for us and they were beautiful—we got tons of compliments. Her prices where very reasonable as well.

I would like to thank Ann for her eye for beauty, her talents, tastes as an artist, and her joyous side wishing us the best wishes for our wedding! Our cake was very elegant, large 5 tier, with mouth melting cake and frosting! Because I am Irish and my husband is English, we decided to get married on St. Paddy's day! We were very lucky to come across this bakery for our wedding cake, we wanted to impress all our friends and family. There was no cake left, and we ordered about 200 extra slices just to have an extravagant cake. It was classy, decadent, it drew the attention of our entire wedding party when they walked into the reception hall. A true keepsake in our memories, we had amazing success with her talented crew, and beautiful, breath taking design. I had an idea of what I wanted for the cake, brought in pictures of my parents cake, and she modernized it exactly to mold to what we wanted with a splash of our parents wedding cake. We absolutely lucked out by having Ann do our wedding cake. We were in the midst of firing our current baker, getting married on a popular date this year, and 3 weeks out until the wedding. Ann was very nice on the phone and by luck, was able to do our cake too.

She was very professional and went thru everything that was being ordered, and how it will look and gave some helpful suggestions. We did not feel rushed at all, and felt very confident letting Ann make our cake.

The cake was very simple, but elegant. It was delivered and set up without a hitch. Not to mention it tasted very good. :)

Not only was the wedding cake great, her cupcakes were a big hit. The taste was just as amazing as the look.

We had ordered an array of desserts by Ann because they taste amazing, and she was highly recommended by several friends & family. We really had started out with a low count of guests which decided our wedding cake size, which Ann is sensational, she gave us so many options and styles to choose from! We were also starting to think about table cakes that she had showed us in our initial consultation. The neat thing about that was that our guests could have their own unique flavor and serve it amongst each other, which would encourage them to socialize, create memories, and of course celebrate our day! We so far just had a three tier stacked wedding cake for our day. It only gets better, we attended one of my cousin's wedding, which had a chocolate fountain and it was delicious, we had to change our order with Ann! On inquiring with Ann she had reminded us that she also offers this tasty service with a variety of dippables! So as time we were just with a fountain and wedding cake for our wedding, then 3 weeks till our wedding our guest count quadrupled so we went on with the fountain, wedding cake, cupcake tree, petite fours, and chocolate fountain! It was thanks to bridal cakes great staff that our day was sweet! It was a fabulous memorie we will never forget, including the professionals she recommended for our photography, DJ, and flowers! My experience with Ann and staff was absolutely professional, elite, classy, and very pleasant for our wedding. First, my consultation was extremely thorough, very well structured, All our questions were answered promptly, without any pressure of booking out our wedding with her bakery. She looked at our ideas, and had several examples to look from . She offered other examples to harness the look we were trying to capture for our wedding cake, and ended up creating a new design all together that is one of her latest new custom designs! My husband and I are honored to see it on her website, and really enjoyed Ann's personality, reassuring us, and counseling what are best choices would be. She was very flexible in all our demands, backing up her reputation, and was very hip with the newest trends/designs! Her cakes are delicious, moist, with scrumptious fillings, and decadent icings. Besides my wife whom was stunning, our wedding cake was delicious and gorgeous! Thanks to Ann and her team at Bridal Cakes by Ann we had an amazing wedding day due to her recommendations of flavor, design, icing, and cake choices. It was a summer wedding, which is known for being hot and humid, we had the opportunity to work with this expert on how the cake would withhold itself along with other desserts in this weather. We were married outside on the beach and then had our reception outside in a wooded area. Not only did she recommend the greatest tasting cake, but the construction of it was practical and adhered to my wife's artistic eye. Overall the service with her was outstanding, including the cake tasting, and we were very happy with our choice in this vendor! She also recommend other vendors in the area that pleased us just the same, she has a network of wedding vendors that perform just as great as her! Wonderful people! Looking forward to our free anniversary cake!!

Ann did not make me a wedding cake, but intead, I have used her for three different special occasions: 2 baptisms and a birthday party. The first cake was made out of fondant. It was recommended to me by the hall where I had the party. It ended up costing $200.00 for a small two tier cake (50 people). I had never ordered fondant, but this time I wanted to try it that way since it looks so smooth and elegant. My guests were not too happy because the fondant that was supposed to be edible was very chewy, almost rubbery. Is this the way fondant tastes?? Yet, the inside of the cake was good. I was kinda' dissapointed about this. On the second ocassion, it was for a baptism. I chose buttercream instead. It was all white and beautifully decorated with purple, and lilac flowers that I gave Ann to put on. This cake turned out to be delicious! It was red velvet with white chocolate mousse and raspberry filling. I had great compliments. The third ocassion was a Birthday PArty for my little girl. I chose a Minnie Mouse cake. I gave Ann a picture of the cake, which looked amazing. I also chose buttercream for this one, since I have had a bad experience with fondant. The guests got to taste the lower part of the cake which was white icing, it was good. We kept the upper portion of the cake for us (at home) which was with pink icing. When my husband and I started to eat it the next day, the cake tasted so bad. It was actually the frosting that was soooooo bitter!!! I think they overdid it with the coloring. It was so bad, that we ended up scraping off all of the frosting and just ate the cake without it. I was so dissapointed again! I emailed Ann and she said that in order for her to have used the pink color in the icing, something had to "give up". What did she mean with that? That the cake would taste awful?? I have had other cakes with different colored frosting and it has never tasted so bad as this one!! She also told me that so many details went into the cake, that she never meant to not tell me that the frosting would taste different..... What a goofy!! My cake was not that bad with details.... and that has nothing to do with the taste and color of the frosting!!! I WILL NEVER go back to her! I am so dissapointed!! What if I had givent that awful tasting part to my guests??? NOPE never again....
I am sure there are many more wonderful bakeries out there who could do a better job! Ann is just so over rated!

We got so many compliments on our cake. The cake was beautiful, delicious, and on time.

We used Ann for our wedding cake, centerpiece cakes, sweet table desserts, chocolate fountain and decorated cookies for our wedding at the Lehmann Mansion in Lake villa. Each table had their own centerpiece cake. They were amazingly beautiful. Everyone loved it and was the talk of the reception. We also had a wedding cake for us to cut during the cake cutting. It was delicious and looked better than we imagined. Her buttercream frosting is the best I ever had.The chocolate fountain and sweet table desserts were a hit with the guests that didn't want cake. Everyone left our wedding with a decorated wedding cookie. Ann was great to work with and walked us through the process creating the ultimate wedding cake. I highly recommend her!

AWFUL experience w/ Ann's bridal cakes. I purchased and paid in full ahead the day of order. My daughter's first bday party on june 11 2011 was totally ruined because of this. I paid $140 for a topsy turvy cake and to start out I asked for a pink candle and Ann said she would call me if she couldnt get one. She never called so i assumed she found one in pink. I called one week before the date of party to change a filling inside the cake and she still didnt mention tht the candle would not be pink. The day i picked it up i got lost finding the place since it is so small and at a not very known area. So i was already running late for my party scheduled to start at 3 pm it was already 2:40 I live about 15/10 mins away. I arrived at Anns bridal cakes and Ann was busy helping someone else so her assistant lady showed me the cake that was inside a big white box and she just quickly opened the flaps so i could peek inside. I did notice there was a slight crack down the bottom tier right where the bow was but it was so tiny i didnt care and didnt think a thing of it. I just wanted to get it back to the party before the guests arrived. The lady walked it to my car by herself and she asked where she could place it. I told her my front seat was open she could put the box there. She placed it on my seat and said bye and walked away. I drove home very cautiously because it was a rather large box and i didnt want to have it slide around. When i got home i opened the box and the ENTIRE two top tiers had sunken into the bottom tier and the tiny crack i had noticed had now turned into a massive crack. The bow was hanging on but was all messed up. I took the cake out of the box and noticed that the entire back of the cake (the side facing the back of the box) was cracked alll over no wonder the top tiers just sunk into the bottom! I immediately called Ann three times and no one answered the phone. They close the store at 4 pm and it was about 3 pm when i called. I finally decided to leave a voicemail and finally about 15 mins later Ann called me back. She gave me the run around about how she cant take responsibility for something that she has no clue what happend between the car ride home to the time i took it out the box. So to me it seems like she was clearly blaming me for what happened. She even said, " I made a dozen of those cakes today and YOURS happens to be the one that collapses?!" what is that supposed to mean? I am not trying to ruin my daughters FIRST bday party lady! I sure as heck do not wish to waste my time trying to argue on the phone either. So since she clearly wouldnt bake me another smaller cake to make up for the bottom tier since supposedly didnt have access to cake (she was at her bakery) then i was not goin to keep talking to her. She told me i could call her the following Tuesday since she is not in on mondays but frankly i never called. She said that perhaps she would give me a store credit but that was all she could do for me OR give me free cupcakes she had in the store but i would have to be there by 4 pm. It was by now 3:40 pm and two of my guests had already arrived. I served the cake the way it was and we did NOT blow candles (which btw was green instead of pink) and the bday pictures of the cake look awful. The taste of the cake itself was not the greatest either. My local bakery offers greater flavor for half the cost. So i will not be calling Ann's bridal for the "store credit" since I do not wish to EVER again purchase from her and her cake flavors are not that great. I got the bottom tier choclate and vanilla with strawberry filling, the middle tier marble w bavarian cream, and the top chocolate w chocolate mousse. To my liking the butter cream frosting was waaay to sweet and the fondant was not what i expected. Customer Service sucks for sure!!! If anyone would like to see pics of this mess email me i would gladly show u the proof.

LOVED Ann! She did everything she could to help me afford the"cupcake tower" I wanted so badly for our wedding. Things came out absolutely beautiful and not to mention DELICIOUS!!! Her work was just awesome, I am still getting compliments. Thank you Ann!

Received my wedding cake from Bridal Cakes by Ann, because it was included in our wedding package. Although my cake was good, Ann was not very friendly and seemed to have some what of an attitude, like it did not matter to her whether we decided to get our cake from her or not. The cake itself tasted good, but was not exactly what I asked for. Overall, I was happy with the cake I received I just wish Ann would have been friendlier and stayed closer to sketch she had given to me.

Cakes by Ann has lost me as a customer and I will tell others not to go to her. For one she is rude and does not take respondsibility for HER actions. I went there to order a cake for a surprise birthday, I was looking forward to the day of picking it up. When I went to pick it up the lady brought it out and it was NOT the cake I even wanted! Not even close to what I wanted. But here is the thing maybe if she actually would of read the order and looked at the picture of the cake, It would of been right but instead she blamed it all on her co-worker. She even called me once to ask what to use and it was still not even what I asked for and when I picked up funny how she couldn't even find the picture of it. hmmm nice. Sorry for a person owning their own business that is not how you conduct business. and to top it off she said well do you want to go somewhere else to find a cake(sorry your designed are not that great) and I have to many weddings. (well dont take on too many orders that you screw them up) , sorry the party was that day. The cake was good but it was ugly! Sorry for someone to speak to a customer the way she did was disrespectful. My thing is if I was a bride coming to get my cake this was only a surprise birthday party, I would be so pissed off. So just remember that how would you feel the day of your wedding you go to pick up your cake and it is not what you wanted. . My advice dont go there. She only picks and chooses who she actually wants to make a cake for. Dont be surprised if you try to get a hold of her and she never calls you back.

Wow! Who does this woman think she is exactly?

I contacted her to ask if she could do a double-layer cake for my bridesmaid luncheon of 10 people. She was confused at first about what I was envisioning, which was no problem, and so I further explained it to her. She said what I wanted was not possible for 10 people so I needed a larger cake. I responded by asking her how large of a cake would I need as I do not mind having leftovers (the reason I pressed further is because I've definitely seen this type of cake before and it would not be a ridiculous amount of cake leftoever for 10 people).

Her response (verbatim): "I have no power since Monday and I am trying to do whatever I can to maintain contact with customers. All I am telling you that I can not make 2 tier cake for 10 people. Please, let me get trough this crisis and I can get back to you later."

Of the bazillion things wrong with this response from someone who is supposed to be a professional I would like to point out that no where in her previous e-mails did she say ANYTHING about not having power. If that were true, the proper response should have been something like "Hi, Unfortunately I lost power in the storm last night and am a little bit behind on getting into contact with my customers. I would be happy to work with you sometime this week to discuss your cake plans. I appreciate your patience during this time until my power returns. Thank you!" I also never said I wanted a 2 tier cake...I just wanted a round double-layer cake (like the kind you can make yourself with two 9" round pans). If she had taken the time to help me, I thinks he would have found this is totally possible for 10 people.

She is rude and ungrateful for any customers. I will never use her or recommend her for any future business.

We were a little skeptical at first because our cake was included in the package with our venue. Wasn't sure what "free" was going to get us or if we would end up spending lots of $$ in upgrades to get something we would be happy with. Turned out we got exactly what we wanted and more!!! Ann was more than willing to work with us on the design and the acake was delicious! Many guests wished they could of had more!

Our wedding cake was beautiful and tasted delicious. It was some of the best tasting wedding cake I have ever had and was very, very fresh. However, I did not really enjoy working with Ann. We wanted a more simple, modern design and she showed an obvious distaste in the pictures I showed her of other cakes I liked. We felt like she was trying to push us into a more traditional cake design and only wanted to decorate the cake in a way that she liked. We had to compromise on a cake design to make her happy, which isn't really how a vendor meeting should go. Because they have two stores calling can be kind of tricky because you have to figure out whether they are in Kenosha or Zion that day. The cake was provided with our reception package, and Ann made some negative comments about the coordinator at our reception venue as well as another local bakery which I thought was rather unprofessional. All in all, our cake tasted amazing and it looked exactly as we had imagined.

Absolutely spectacular! The cake was beyond beautiful, and exactly what we asked for. They made some wonderful recommendations and they cake was extremely good! We decided on buttercream and it was not too sweet and perfectly moist.

I thought I knew the best bakery in Northern Illinois but I was way off. Bridal Cakes by Ann is THE only place to go for your wedding cake.

I had centerpiece cakes. This saved on the table decor and also made for a very inviting and elegant look to my tables. I purchased cake toppers that were of a bride and groom (old school just for fun) and they looked great. I chose the white chocolate curls cake which was the same for every table but the flavors inside were different.

I rented the stands and the cutters from Ann and they delivered my cakes for a very nominal fee (compared to other bakeries).

I cannot tell you how many compliments I received on the cake. Everyone wanted more and I cannot wait until my one-year anniversary so that I can order a duplicate cake from her for our celebration.

She's easy to work with, her cakes are phenomenal and reliable. I highly, highly recommend Ann to anyone! You will not be sorry!

Yum, yum! I've never seen people go back for seconds on a wedding cake, but they sure did for ours! We chose a marble cake with bavarian cream filling, and it was so delicious! We got a lot of compliments on how beautiful the cake was, too. Our photographers had fun with it and got some really artistic pics.

Because of our location we had to use Ann's shop in Zion, and that made things a little challenging, but in the end it was well worth the multiple trips.

This cake was amazing! we had half white and have chocolate with raspberry filling between the two layers. It was a wonderful cake moist and the best tasting around the area. Everyone wanted more then one piece.

To start out, I have to say our cakes were a hit with our guests. We did the centerpiece cakes (there were 17) of them. We had different flavors at each table and the guests were encouraged to go around to the table with the flavor they wanted. There wasn't a single slice of cake left!

And the cakes were delicious! Moist, flavorful. Not just basic white sheet cake you tend to get at weddings.

I thought the Ann's prices were reasonable. Especially for the quality of cake. When we met with her, she showed us a ton of different ideas and helped us select what we wanted.

They got the cakes there on time and they looked beautiful!

We ordered the centerpiece cakes and a main wedding cake for our wedding. The centerpiece cakes were amazing. She was able to take our ideas and create something that exceeded our expectations. She is very talented and offered many cakes and dessert choices. I highly recommend downloading the wedding cake organizer off her website to get you familiar with the design process. It helped me understand the process. The cake tasted fantastic and our guests were impressed. To my delight, Ann now offers birthday cakes. I plan to order one for my husband's birthday!

Bridal Cakes by Ann are the best cakes in the area! Our cake was beautiful and they even used the extra roses that I gave them to decorate around them. After our tasting, my husband ordered me a birthday cake from her...a bit expensive, but worth it! Thanks Ann!

Our cake was not only beautiful but it was so good that our guests are still talking about it 6 months later. The lowest tier was a plain white cake with white frosting. Then there was a chocolate cake tier with fudge frosting. However, all of the different flavors we tried at the taste testing were wonderful.

My cake was gorgeous, like something right out of a bridal magazine. Most important it tasted great!
I even used Ann for my bridal shower cake. The tasted so good I had to have more than one.

The cake was delicious and looked incredible. The design was different than what we originally planned on, but truthfully it still looked great. The flavors were dead on and were FANTASTIC! She was a little disorganized, but when I called her the day before she was completely put together. I was very happy.

Our cake was beautiful!!! Ann did a great job for us!!! And not only did it look great, but it tasted amazing!!! It tasted WAY better than when we did the sampling! We had chocolate with chocolate fudge filling for two tiers and then banana with banana cream for the other two tiers.

Ann is very serious about her work, which is great. She also did a good job counseling us and helping us pick out the perfect cake for us!

The cake was there on time, looked beautiful. Everyone loved it and wanted seconds. Several guests asked where we got the cake and compliments us on how good it was, asked where it was located and how much it costed. People seemed very interested in it. We had a lot left over, which surprised me because my only complaint was that the cake looked smaller in my opinion, than what we expected, and what she showed us. Other than that, great review.

Our cake was included with our reception exclusively through Ann. She did a fantastic job on the cake as well as the additional dessert items we ordered. The cake was delicious and she made it look exactly as I had imagined.

cakes are beautiful and delicious, incredible designs, lots of choices. the lady who helped us did not impress us with customer service however. she seemed to be in a bad mood that day.

Ann's Bridal Cakes created a beautiful wedding cake for my wedding. It was also very tasty, moist and creamy. I would highly recommend the use of Ann's if you live in the southeast WI or northern IL area.

If I was able to give zero stars, I would. I received the completely wrong cake at my reception (BLACK instead of white). I was led to believe that this bakery was organized and well prepared to make my wedding cake. Instead I received poor responsiveness and the wrong cake and no cake stand. BEWARE before using this vendor.

Excellent cake quality, beautiful finished product. Ann offered us many different cake varieties to try before we chose the type for our wedding. We also were allowed to take home most of the samples so we didn’t have to eat them all in a row and at the same time. It was a great experience.

Ann made my wedding cake and it was delicious and beautiful, you can tell she invested a lot of time in creating it.
