Bridal & Veil
I bought my wedding dress here, but had alterations done elsewhere. Ysenia was my consultant and she was really sweet and made me feel really comfortable. I had come from David's Bridal and was discouraged because nothing looked good on me. When I came to Bridal & Veil, I tried on probably 9-10 dresses and loved every single one of them. I did read some of the reviews on yelp and it did make me nervous, but luckily my dress turned out perfect. I was torn between 2 dresses and Ysenia helped me make the final decision and she chose right! This place's decor has no frills so if you're someone who wants to have the whole experience where your friends and family watch you come out on a platform as you try on dresses, then it might not be the place for you. It does look a little run down on the inside, but that didn't matter to me. Just make sure to follow up if your dress doesn't come when it's expected to. I wish I could taken pics of myself in the dresses before purchasing but they don't allow it.
Found an absolutely perfect dress here for a great price! Not to mention all my bridesmaid's dresses. They were so helpful and made the entire process such a breeze. Everyone I encountered was very knowledgeable and sweet. My bridesmaids all tried multiple styles and the girl who helped them was so nice and gave alot of advice for body types, kinds of materials, etc. They have an amazing selection of dresses, accessories, shoes, bridesmaid dresses, just anything you could want they have, and if they dont have it, they'll order it! I love this place and I'll probably be back in the future as I plan to renew my vows in years to come. Oh AND they have an outlet which is a hidden gem! Greatest place ever!
When I was initially looking for a wedding dress, the sales girl who helped me pick out the dress was very helpful and friendly. I found the dress I wanted, but it required several visits to have the dress tailored. The last few times I was in, the woman at the front desk was very rude and brisk. She was not very clear on what services were offered as far as having the dress dry cleaned once they had finished tailoring the dress. When I asked for the name of the owner of the shop, the woman refused to give me his name. She was rude abbrassive and dismissed me with a smirk when I told I would be in later to speak to the owner.
You will find a deal as far as dresses go. You really have to pck through what they have. As far as professionalism and making you feel special or even satisfied by the whole experience? My suggestion is that you go elsewhere.
Very good service, my dress is beautifull, it came on time, even I ask for her 4 months before wedding, I was waiting for a beutifull store but thats not happend, but the selection of dresses is amazing, and I'm very greatfull for the great experience.
AMAZING experience!!! Thank you Ana Maria for making my wedding dress shopping a wonderful, magical thing. I found the perfect dress here and they gave me the BEST price!
Bridal and Veil in Mission Valley provided all of the dresses for Bride, Bridesmaids, MOH and MOB. Our relationship with this store was a good one - initially...however, that soon changed as soon as we started picking up dresses and/or requested alterations. Alterations cost you an arm and a leg here. If you can go elsewhere for this service, do it. Their alterations schedule is skewed and you may end up experiencing delays in setitng up appointments for fittings and pick ups. Plus, they only steam dresses ONE DAY A WEEK which definetely becomes a problem in terms of picking up ... A week before the wedding, MOB had an AWFUL experience w/ her dress. The alterations woman left it 2 inches too long and argued with her that "that was the style" and blamed my mother for not telling her how short she wanted it. Bottom line is: Floor length is floor length, 2 inches beyong floor length is not acceotable!! Anyway, after arguing with the woman and the Boutique Owner, and telling them that picking up the dress on the morning of the wedding WAS NOT acceptable, we got her dress two days before the wedding. It was like pulling teeth with these people!!!! Nevermind the fact that MOB bought her dress a year and a half before the wedding so she wouldn't have to experience any delays. Bridal and Veil has gorgeous gows at affordable prices but customer service is HORRIBLE with the exception of Ana Maria (Sales lady) and a few other women there. I'll give them a low grade for all the trial and tribulations they made us go through in the end.
I think one of the most important feelings is how you feel about the way you look on your special day and Bridal & Veil helped me to acomplish that. I arrived San Diego on Tuesday, walked into the store on Wednesday and picked up my dress on Saturday, the day before my wedding, alterations completed, pressed and ready for my wedding!!!!! They have a ton of dresses to choose from and consultants that actually listen to what you're saying. Tremendous experience !!!!!
I loved the great selections they had for bridal gowns with affordable prices.
However, when my gown came in, the neckline looked nothing like the showroom gown's neckline.
Since I live out of town, my parents went to talk to them. The manager was just awful and would not listen to my parents and there was quite a fight. However, Sandra who helped me once and remembered me (she wasn't even my consultant) stepped in. To make the long story short, the neckline was altered to resemble the showroom gown and it was just perfect! Bridal and Veil is blessed to have Sandra!!
this place has so many dresses and so much variety. I looked all over Orange county and San Diego. This is where i found my dress. I knew what i wanted, went in there, tried on one dress and bought it! It was PERFECT.
Bridal & Veil has a great selection of dresses and the girls who work there are great at helping you find the perfect dress--especially Ysenia. Josie, the alterations person, was ready to make alterations on my dress that turned out not to be needed. Luckily, one of the other girls who worked there caught it before it was too late. I had to go back for several fittings, which got old. In the end, my dress was beautiful and they did end up "including" my steaming in the cost of the dress, which was a huge bonus.
Bride and Veil has a very good selection of dresses. I tried on 4 dresses at the store and I actually bought the first dress, which I fell in love with. I purchased the dress off the rack which was 6 sizes too big because they weren't able to get another dress in time for my wedding. It would have taken several months to get the dress (but that was just an estimate) and then an estimated 3 weeks for alterations. I didn't mind it too much because it was what I wanted and after inspecting the dress, there wasn't any visible flaws. Their cost for alterations was a lot more pricier than another reputable tailor.
On the positive side, the girls that work there are nice and welcoming, despite never remembering a customer (I was asked by the same girl, three separate times, if I was there to try on dresses). Also, the dresses really are affordable and the selection is rather extensive. When I said, "No ball gowns" I was listened to. Ivon was very helpful and a great consultant to work with and Celia, the seamstress, was superb at her job and a really nice lady. Bridal and Veil is a relatively inexpensive bridal shop. As such, there were some areas that were really lacking, but that are easy to rectify. First, the organization of records in this bridal shop is just asking for an overhaul. If they merely switched over to a computer based system of record keeping instead of the pen and paper that they have, there would have been much less confusion and rework. Second, the interior of the shop could really do with an inexpensive face lift. Everything from the mannequins to the wall sconces looked dated and dirty. Third, when a bride is trying to be thrifty as I was, and is still willing to spend over $1000 on a dress and alterations, the shop should not be nickel and dime-ing the bride to death. For example, what would it really take to include steaming of the dress in the price of the dress? It probably take less than 30 minutes to do this job but I was charged $65 on top of all the other charges. I would likely do more shopping around if I had to do this experience again but I may well have arrived at bridal and veil in the end.

Yes, we do have dresses you can buy off the floor. However, if time allows we prefer that you order your gown. There is no extra charge if your gown is ordered. We like to keep our samples on the floor, and we want our brides to have a brand new Gown!
Do you have samples in the store, and if so what are the sizes?
Yes, we do have samples in the store. The standard sizes of our samples are sizes 10 to 12. We do have scattered sizes on the floor. However our standard sample is a 10 to 12. For our plus sizes, we do have samples in sizes 18 women's to 24 women's.
How does ordering a dress work?
When you do order your dress, we require 1/2 down payment of the total price, this will be your deposit. When your dress arrives at the store the balance of your gown is due.
Are alterations included in the price of the dress, do I need an appointment?
No, the alterations are not included in the price of your gown. Alterations are done in house as a service to you, keeping it convenient for the bride. Alterations are separate from the purchase of the gown. When your gown arrives in the store we will call to let you know! At that time we would love to make an appointment for your alterations. If you buy your gown in stock, an appointment is needed to do the alterations.
Are all sales final?
Yes all sales are final. When you choose your wedding gown, we want you to be 100% sure that you made the right choice.
How long does it take when ordering my wedding gown?
This question has several variables. It depends on the manufacturer. Some manufacturers can get a gown out in 1 month, others can take up to six months. But don't wait too long. You need to allot yourself enough time for alterations.
