BRIDES BY LIZA

There aren't enough nice words to describe Liza, Ani and the rest of her team. Not only is she an amazing designer and seamstress, she's a wonderful, warm person and she always made me feel comfortable and beautiful as she designed and made my wedding dress. I am NOT an easy person to fit and her team really worked magic to put my gown together. Her staff was easy to work with, friendly and efficient and I would never have had a dress that fit me so perfectly if it hadn't been for her. She also has the uncanny ability to look at you and know what dress would be perfect, I went in looking for something completely different than what I walked out with and Liza was right. She knew what I wanted better than I was able to dream or articulate and in between sharing stories of her boys and making me feel like part of the family she created my perfect dress. She also worked with my family on our budget and was able to custom make both my dress and my veil for what we could afford. Yes, she seems a little pricey compared to a budget department store wedding dress but she's not making a dress that will fit a million different women, she's making a dress that's perfect for you.

The staff is friendly and nice. The only reason I ordered my dress here is because they happened to be the first to put a hold on the one I wanted and because I had very limited time. They did a decent job altering my dress, although they charged me far too much for it and the seams on top came out a little wavy (didn't match the other side). They also forgot to make my veil, so I had to wait for it when I picked up the dress. It was only about 20 minutes, but it should have been made.
Liza is nice and does a good job, but I wouldn't have gotten my dress here if it hadn't for my circumstances.

My dress was fantastic!! Liza and her assistant Ani are such special ladies. I bought my dress weeeelllll before my wedding and hadn't been in since I put the down payment, Liza remembered me immediately and that might not seem important but to me it was. Now this is no cheap-o dress shop so be prepared to spend some money. This was my splurge where other things weren't as important to me, but I know I'll be handing this dress over to my daughter (if I have one). And in my opinion it'll be as beautiful and stylish in 30 years as it was this year.

Liza was great, she custome designed each of my bridesmade dresses. The quality and styles were excelent. She is very patient and detail orianted.

Liza made a custom dress for me at an amazing price. I was able to bring in some pictures of the dress I wanted. I picked out the fabrics from over 50 swatches and had four fittings to tweak the details. The dress came out amazing. There were some issues that I had with last minute adjustments and she addressed them the following day and fixed all my concerns. I was so nervous about the process, not knowing what the result would be, Liza did an amazing job, the dress was incredible.

I purchased my Maggie Soterro dress because they do altering. I wanted to add some accents with pink ribbons and crystals... what I got were sequence beading that was VERY cheap. I paid an extra 2k to have this work done and it was awful. I had to argue and argue with the owner. She was supposed to put PINK crystals and a broche in front of my dress and instead she used CHEAP sequence. I was horrified. It was difficult to get in touch with her and she was very defensive about her work. After a lot of complaining I "finally" got what I had paid for. My bridesmaid dresses came out freat but my last bridesmaid she used different material and you could tell. She definitely overcharged us. We spend in total for my 6 bridesmaid, me and my mother... over $6k. I would not recommend going to her. Trust me on this one!

She also gave me my dress in a wrapped sheet that she told me was pressed. We opened it and it was WRINKLED big time! I had to take it to a dry cleaner to get fixed as I did not trust taking it back to the shop. I was lucky I got the dress back 3 days before the wedding, otherwise I would not have had time to fix it.

Loved my wedding gown. For the beauty of it, worth every penny. I don't think my parents minded so much because I looked so great on such a great day.

I cannot say enough about how awful my experience was with Liza. I paid almost $4000 for my dress. During one of my final fittings I put on my dress and it had several 1-2 inch scissor cuts in it! I was devastated. Now, mind you that she would not allow me to put the dress on without long white gloves....the first thing she (liza) says to me was, "how did that happen?"...I was looking at her thinking "Are youy kidding", then to add insult to injury she asks me if I did it! Why in the world and how in the world would I or anyone else do that? She had over 10 months to make my dress and did not have it ready until 2 days prior to my wedding. And then she made me bring sheets from home to put it in. My bridesmaids dresses were awful. Most , although custom made did not fit propely, and she was very difficult about fixing them. The men's ties were by far the WORST. We went several times to pick them up and they were not ready. She charged us $75 per tie for 8 ties and they were crap! They were poorly constructed, too narrow, not lined, the thread they used to sew them was a diferent color and cheap. And on top of eveything they were missing! Afte hours of struggling with her that I had to leave for the hotel and we needed to pick them up, he husband arrived. "I swear to God" at my parent's house with a plastic Ralphs bag with the ties inside the bad and they were all wrinkled.
She never gave me receipts, made me pay cash and gave me awful service. I saw several other brides angry and crying in her shop. TOgether with my wedding gown, bride's maid dresses, my bridal shower dress, the flower girl and ring bearer attire and groom's men ties we spend over $10,000 at her shop. Very very disappointing. The only redeeming quality was that my dress turned out okay...not great, but ok.
