Brides 'n Maids

Brides N Maids was the first place I tried on dresses and ended up buying one that day. Peole who know me, know this is totally out of character for me. I usually take forever to decide. But I had such a great experience trying on dresses and found such a beautiful gown, that I couldn't walk away. We didn't even have an appointment and the owner welcomed us in and let us start browsing and pulling dresses. There was no rush and I was allowed to try on as many as I wanted. I think I tried 20 dresses before it was clear that I kept going back to the same one. The staff was very helpful pulling dresses for me and helping me into them. They never tried to sway me into one or the other and kept trying to help me find what I liked best. I was pleasantly surprised by the price tag (especially after watching so much Say Yes to the Dress) and put down my deposit. They are a full service place and I ordered my bridesmaid dresses and had my alterations done there also. The only reason I put a 4 for service is due to an issue I had with scheduling a fitting. I scheduled a fitting for 4th of July weekend because I was goind to be in town at that point (I live in Chicago but the wedding was in NorCal). I had it all set but then they informed me a few weeks before that no one would be in that weekend to do the fitting and we would have to reschedule. If I was in town, no big deal, but because I was coming from Chicago, I couldn't change my plans and had to wait until 3 weeks before the wedding to do the fitting. I didn't need anything but a bustle and hem so everything turned out fine but it was a little frustrating at the time. Overall though, this place has a great selection, offers a fun experience and has great prices. I love my dress and received so many compliments on it.

I bought my dress from brides n maids, my mother bought her dress, and the FG dress, and all my BMS bought there dress from here as well.
Overall, it was a great experience. Wendy & Carly were so nice. The only snag I had with this place was with the alterations. I feel I was over-charged, and my dress was not ready until the wednesday before my saturday wedding, (talk about STRESS!).

I had a great experience wedding dress shopping. The first time I went in I was helped by the owner Wendy, she was great. She pulled all of the dresses that I wanted to see and helped me into everything. The only thing that I wished they did more of was personal shopping, pulling dresses they thought would look good on my figure. Overall really nice shop with a good selection of dresses.

I went to multiple places to look for a dress and Brides and Maids was by far the best. Wendy, the owner is a super nice lady, as is the rest of the staff. They're really great about showing you dresses in your price range all the while making you feel like a princess. :) They may be a small shop, but I personally believe they have the best selection of gowns!

Such a wonderful local shop. Wendy the owner is so sweet and accomodating, not to mention extremely helpful. Not only did I find my dress at Brides N Maids, we also got the bridesmaids dresses and both mom's dresses here, so they gave us a deal. We were able to do alterations right in the shop and Wendy even came in on her day off to accomodate our schedule and do alterations for my bridesmaids. Had a little issue with the woman they have come in to do wedding dress alterations, so much so that I was in tears at one point, but it was all resolved in the end and everything was perfect.

Brides 'n Maids is a small locally owned shop with exactly that kind of feel. The owner is extremely helpful and on top of your needs. It's not as pampering as some of the other shops but it has a wonderful homey feeling.

The staff at Brides and Maids is exceptional and very friendly, with the exception of one alterations woman. The sales woman who originally helped me pick out my dress was friendly and very knowledgeable about the dress selections they carry. I never felt rushed or pressured to purchase, although I did end up buying my dress on the first visit. Once you find "the one", there's no need to look any further. It did take about 6 months for the dress to arrive, just as they informed me when I paid my deposit.

The only problem I had with this experience was with my fitting. I had the unfortunate luck of being paired with Idolka, one of the alterations women. She was very unfriendly, unprofessional (stepping all over the train of my dress with her shoes while fitting me) and when my mother asked her repeatedly to stop stepping on it, she just said "don't worry, don't worry". When I asked any questions, she acted with a "why are you bothering me with this nonsense" attitude. This is the most important dress I was ever going to wear and when I inquired about bustle types, she became very impatient when I wanted to see the different versions. A week later, when I came back in to try on the dress after she had fitted it, it didn't fit at all! She had cut it way too small and there were gaps and material gathering at the sides. It looked horrible! I would not recommend going to her for the fitting.

Luckily Wendy, the owner, took me under her angelic wedding dress wing and fixed all of the mistakes that Idolka made. Wendy is amazing and the dress looked absolutely beautiful after she was finished!

Despite the first bad alterations mishap, I certainly recommend this boutique for all of your bridal attire needs. Overall it was a great experience!

Great selection and my dress came in a month sooner than expected!

Wendy at Brides 'n Maids was so helpful and very nice to deal with. We went to several other shops in the area and my daughter left in tears... they were so pushy and nearly forcing her to try on dresses that she know she wouldn't like... not Wendy. She and her staff took time with us and never pushed. They were very professional and a real pleasure to work with.

Brides 'n Maids in Santa Rosa, CA has a fantastic selection of dresses for every wedding. I was able to find my perfect dress, one which I originally had tried on at another nearby location where it was $400 more, as the shop was located in a higher rent district. Brides 'n Maids offers fantastic service, affordable altering, and flexible availability for appointments. The dress came in 2 months earlier than expected! They include pressing in their price, and will throw in a coupon for a free veil with purchase. Wonderful!

Beautiful dress at a GREAT price.

Brides 'n Maids is a cozy little bridal shop near downtown Santa Rosa. The staff was kind and helpful, and the owner of the shop was super nice! She remembered me when I came back in a second time to try on more dresses. I found my dress there - a bridesmaid dress which I purchased in white! It was perfect for the beach and you couldn't beat the price! Even though my dress cost far less than many of the other brides in the shop, I always got great service. I even brought my best friend dress shopping there - and she bought her wedding dress from them too!

Brides n' Maids was a fabulous little dress shop in an old victorian house. It added to the ambiance and excitement of getting married. They had dresses in lots of styles and prices. A good variety to choose from. The owner and her daughter run the place and are always helpful and friendly. They were a little bit unprofessional on the phone when you call to see if your dress is in. Just remember, they will call you when you dress is in!

Hi, So I am a MOH for my best friend, but I have had such an amazing experience here that I had to spread the love! I had only heard wonderful things about this local, family run business, and I am so happy that I was able to be a part of the stories as well, and someday soon be the bride here as well. As a bridesmaid, I was treated with so much respect and I know the bride felt the same way as well. We came in with an appointment on a Wednesday- great day- and the bride probably tried on about 20 dresses, and we started a yes, no, maybe categorization to trim down the dresses. The sales staff was soooo patient and listened to what the bride wanted. Wendy, the owner, was there and helped pull in a few more dresses as well and a very complimenting bridesmaids dress for me! She found "the one" and I did as well! Wendy is a gem in the bridal industry, and even made the veil for the bride. Overall, we have all had nothing but fantastic things to say about the experience. The store is cute and cozy, and I felt really comfortable there. They have a great variety of prices and styles. They fit a lot of merchandise into that store! Thank you!!!

I bought my Flower Girl's dress here. The quality wasn't the best but the price was a lot better than other places and they have many different styles and colors.

They also sell Juniors dresses there, which may work for bridesmaids dresses. They were a bit less expensive and a VERY cozy atmosphere...I was surprised and delghted by their attentiveness!

Brides and Maids can at times be a little bit busy, I wouldn't reccommend visiting there on a weekend. They tend to be a little bit understaffed at times and it can make wait times long and assistance not on par. Most of the time, they are friendly, helpful and more than willing to answer any of your questions. I had a problem with the wrong size dress being ordered and even though their store policy clearly states no returns, refunds or exchanges, Wendy, the boutique owner was more than happy to order me a dress in the correct size, since it was her employees who took the measurements. Over all the staff is knowledgable and cares about making sure the bride is happy with her gown. Their seamstress is a little bit on the pricey side and doesn't disclose their fees until after they tell you what needs to be done, so be sure to get price quotes from them before proceeding. I was told my dress shouldn't cost more than 15 dollars to add bustles and when it came time to pay the seamstress I was charged $55 and that is a huge difference in cost. Overall they provided me with a relatively stress free and positive experience!!

Wendy was amazing. Although it is one of the smaller shops, they keep a good selection of different types of gowns. I preferred this to some of the larger stores, as the selection in the larger stores was a bit overwhelming. I did end up finding and trying on my dress at a different store, but chose to purchase the dress through Brides N Maids because I was so impressed with the service. The best time to go is in the evening or when they first open, because it does get a little busy, but it is worth it. Wendy was so nice even in the midst of my emotional breakdown in the middle of the store. I also ordered my bridesmaids dresses here as well. They were the only shop in town that had dresses exactly like what I was looking for. She also helped my mom find a more "contemporary" dress, as many of the shops in town had "old lady" dresses. I was very pleased with my experience.

I love Brides n maids. It has been around forever = so that means something. It is a cute little blue victorian shop. The owner is just great. She knows every single dress in the shop and more!

I was able to do one stop shopping! I got my dress, brides maids dresses, tuxes, favors, invitations, wedding goblets, cake knives, shoes, headpiece, napkins, nylons, guest book, etc.

I even was able to book my honeymoon! My husband and I already had everything we needed so we were able to register at www.bridesnmaidshoneymoons.com. People were able to select items that we wanted for our honeymoon and basically all of the money went into an merril lynch account that we could use for airfare, hotel, etc.

why would anyone go any where else? i got everything there - dress, bm, tuxes, invites, shoes, bra, headpiece, favors, glasses etc....why would i go to a warehouse when there is a business that knows what it is doing and has been around since 1969.
