I love my rings! I knew I wanted a conflict-free diamond and was pleased to see that Brilliant Earth not only used Canadian diamonds but recycled metal, too. When my now husband ordered my set, he was impressed with how friendly the staff was. He placed the order online, but they still called him and took the time to not only ask questions about the rings but also about our engagement and whether the rings were coming as a surprise. (He was very impressed with this, especially after visiting a few ring stores in town and feeling like he was being looked down on by employees when they found out I didn't want a huge diamond.) They also included a personal, hand-written note with my rings and called afterward to follow up and make sure we liked them. My rings are beautiful, unique and well made, and their customer service made a very good impression.

So happy to find a quality, conflict free ring. They were easy to work with and prompt.

When my husband proposed he knew it was important to me to have conflict free stones and that I love sapphires. Enter Brilliant Earth. He purchased the antique scroll sapphire engagement ring from them which I absolutely adore and get compliments on all the time. So when it came time to pick out my wedding band I was happy to see they had a matching band. However, the band did not have sapphires in it, only diamonds. So I contacted them about doing a custom ring with rotating diamonds and sapphires which they were happy to accommodate at no extra cost. There was a problem with the first guy I was working with because I originally wanted the ring contoured and he didn't tell me there would be an extra cost for that until I had already shipped my ring to them. But Christina took over my account when I was dissatisfied and made everything okay. She discussed it with me and I decided not to do the contour. She took pictures of everything, kept me in the loop and made sure my rings got back to me in tip top shape. I'm beyond happy with my wedding band and I feel good knowing that all the stones are conflict-free.

My fiance ordered my engagement ring from Brilliant Earth. I must admit that I was a bit concerned about him ordering a ring from a website without seeing it in person. When he received the email saying that it had shipped out and was expected to be delivered the next morning by 10:30 we were ecstatic. The suspense was killing me as we were sitting in the living room waiting for FedEx. Finally the FedEx guy arrived with the package, I ran to the door and signed for the package. Nicholas opened it and got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes of course. The ring was absolutely perfect. I was surprised that it was so beautiful, was much better than I had expected, I love it. Inside the package there was also a handwritten card from someone at Brilliant Earth. I thought that personal touch was wonderful for a company to include. The ring came in a wooden box which I thought was also a nice touch. In the future I am sure we will be doing business with Brilliant Earth. I would definitely recommend them to anyone that is looking for engagement rings or wedding bands. They not only create spectacular jewelry, they create memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you Brilliant Earth!!

We got my wedding band from BE. I love love love BE! Their designs are beautiful but, most of all, I chose to pay a slight premium for my ring because of their ethical and eco-friendly philosophy. They use recycled precious metals and ethically-sourced diamonds. Plus, they have great diamond-alternatives like blue and pink sapphires. The packaging is awesome (a wooden ring box). Their showroom in SF isn't very swanky...but since they're mostly based on the net, I could see why they wouldn't worry too much about the space. I'm glad it didn't deter me from buying from them (I'm a little of a control freak so I needed to see the ring in person.) I would highly encourage couples to look into getting their rings at BE (or other shops with a similar philosophy.) Pretty bling doesn't have to be bloody.

My husband purchased my engagement ring from Brilliant Earth in November 2009. We were at their showroom in San Francisco during that same time and Danielle was an absolute pleasure to work with! She was so patient with us and I found my dream ring which my husband presented to me in December. The whole ordering process was a snap according to my husband and I would wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone! I still get compliments on my e-ring, almost two years later.

I have been nothing but impressed by the quality and the service Brilliant Earth provides. The diamond engagement ring I purchased was my first real jewelry purchase and I was a little hesitant to purchase online. I had my girlfriend's possible ring size but no clue as to which size would be best or how easy/difficult it is to resize a ring. I did an online chat with Danielle and she gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision. She eased my mind about the ring size and let me know I could always have it resized if needed. The fact that the diamond was conflict free, the packaging environmentally responsible and the price was right sealed the deal. So I purchased the ring and when I received it I was blown away by how beautiful and...well....brilliant it looked.

I proposed, she said yes, but the ring was a little too big. We happened to be in Northern CA, when I gave my gf the ring and so I called Danielle. We were only going to be in San Fran for one day and she fit us in. We left the ring to be resized, and ordered an engagement band for me at the same time. The catch was my girlfriend was going to be seeing her family in the next week, and wanted to be able to show them the ring. Danielle was awesome. She was able to make sure that my gf received the resized ring while visiting her family just a few days later. Unfortunately, my gf's fingers must have been swollen when we decided on what size to resize down to and now that her fingers were no longer swollen the ring was still too big. I contacted Danielle and she worked with us again to have the ring resized and the turn around was extremely fast. We got the resized ring yesterday and it now fits perfectly and looks as amazing as ever.

The product that Brilliant Earth sells is phenomenal, but I think what really sets them apart from the rest of the field is the customer service they provide. Danielle and Jessica went out of their way to make sure that we were 100% satisfied with what we purchased. We were never made to feel like we were being ridiculous about the fit of the ring. We will definitely be purchasing our wedding bands from Danielle and I plan to make Brilliant Earth my first stop for any other fine jewelery I may need to purchase in the future. So thank you to Danielle for making my first online jewelery purchase such a smooth and enjoyable process.

I was nervous about ordering my engagement ring online. But could not have been more pleased with the final product. Its gorgeous. I wanted a conflict free diamond, and I knew exactly the setting I wanted. They had both! There was an issue with my husbands credit card, and it took them almost a week to contact us and get the correct address (we ordered over the phone and a name or number mustve been misheard). Other than that, wonderful customer service, and helpfulness choosing our ring and feeling confident with the purchase. Will definitely use them again!

Starting from the beginning: started shopping with my then fiance for rings - stumbled upon Brilliant Earth as I wanted a sapphire and they had a good selection, Gloria was great in helping me pick the setting I liked and catering to all my needs. About a week after having the ring, I realized the sapphire was loose (could tap and hear it moving but not serious enough to com off) - I put off taking it in until we went shopping for our wedding bands a few months later. They took it, tightened the prongs and apparently replaced one of the diamonds in the band for it had turned yellow (never got any clarification on why this happened at the time) and returned it to me at no cost.

Unfortunately, a few days later the sapphire was again loose in the same way (frustrated at this point that the problem wasn't fixed but in the middle of wedding planning and I had moved out of SF so I had no time to bring it in again).

Finally a few months after the wedding, one of my little diamonds in my wedding band fell out/disappeared, and again one of my little stones in my ring had yellowed. I decided to bring everything in to take care of at once. I was directed to Bridgette instead of Gloria and this is where things turn ugly.

I asked Bridgette if there was going to be any cost in these fixes since I assumed them to be ring issues and not something I had done (considering 2 of the 3 problems had occurred before), also noting my concern that I only had the wedding band for 3 months and stones were already falling off. She couldn't give me a straight answer in person and kept saying the charges would be "fair" - whatever that means. She called me the next day to say she had the jeweler look at my rings and assessed what had caused the problems. Big Surprise: nothing was their fault in the ring design and it was all blamed on me. Apparently my band rubbing against my engagement ring had caused the diamond to pop off - really? after 3 months of wearing the two together - that's great craftmanship. The yellowing diamond was "due to me washing it with some type of Clorox cleaner and it getting underneath the diamond" (I work for Clorox - interesting how they jumped to that conclusion) - I told her that the only product I used to clean my rings was the "Brilliant Earth" cleaner so if you're suggesting that is creating an issue please tell me to stop using that - Bridgette dodged herself out of those questions. And then the reason my sapphire was loose was wear and tear - no concerns about the fact that it's been like that from day one pretty much and no willingness to assess the fact that the prongs were not designed to hold my ring. They want to charge me to fix all these issues now which I refuse to do. I'm really regretting having them do my settings and am planning on taking both of my rings to another jeweler to be assessed although like the others on here I think I know what the answer is going to be (they are designed and crafted poorly). So there goes more money down the drain to fix their errors.

The customer service has been awful since I paid them for my 2 rings - it's literally been night and day (they got their $ and now don't care to keep me happy). I'm sure these issues are going to keep happening, and I'm not going to risk paying them more money when they don't know how to fix the rings and will keep blaming the issues on me.

Yes, they have pretty rings, yes the staff is great in helping you design what you want, but at the end of the day - the quality of the rings is awful and you should spend your money elsewhere. They are nice to you until they get your $ and could care less afterwards. Go somewhere else - you know those other jewelers that do cleanings for free, yearly maintenance, fixes, etc without trying to nickel and dime you. I have 5-6 friends who have gotten rings in the bay area over the past year and none of them are having any issues with customer service or their ring quality - if you want a reco for these places let me know and I will be happy to pass along their information.

I gave Brilliant Earth the opportunity to fix these issues at no charge to make things right with me but they refuse. I advise anyone to avoid this place at all costs.

I recently purchased a wedding set from Brilliant Earth, and my experience with them was as good as I could hope for. I was able to work out a lay-away plan, so that I could pay for the rings gradually and guarantee that they wouldn't be sold to another customer. When I had finally finished my payment, I had the rings in hand within two days. Even getting them re-sized was easy. They re-sized the rings for free, and then sent them back about a week later. The best part is Brilliant Earth is environmentally-friendly and is dedicated to ethical practices. I highly recommend Brilliant Earth. In fact, if I need to buy any other jewelry in the future, it will probably be from them.

My husband and I ordered our wedding rings and my engagement ring from Brilliant Earth, and we were very happy with the result. Brilliant Earth is probably best known for being one of the best places to shop online for jewelry that is environmentally friendly. (For example, my diamond is certified as being collected from a mine in Canada.) However, one of the things that most drew me to this company was the wide variety of unique and beautiful engagement ring designs, and their ability to do custom creations. I ended up designing my own engagement ring (with Brilliant Earth’s help) based on the ring my fiancé’s mother had lent him to use for the proposal. I sent them pictures of his mom’s ring and described over the phone the small changes I imagined would help make it my own. They provided me with a sketch that we discussed, and then they created the wax model, and finally, the ring itself. I thought the process went very smoothly, and even though I had started the process fairly late, they were very aware of the need to get it before the wedding, and were very accommodating.

I found Brilliant Earth after searching for a reputable conflict-free source for an engagement ring. While I was initially nervous about making such a large purchase online, I have been thrilled with the service I have received every step of the way. And the finished product has me and my fiance thrilled with its quality and beauty. My husband worked with Brilliant Earth at first to order my engagement ring, and then I worked with them to order my wedding band. Any time I had a question, I received excellent customer service on the phone on through email. And I LOVE my rings - I got a sapphire engagement ring and antique scroll wedding band, and they are so unique and beautiful. And the bonus is that all of the stones are mined ethically!

Nice designs and all recycled metal and ethically sourced jewels. The staff were very helpful in answering questions and even sent me a photo of a man's ring on a woman's finger so I could see if it was a reasonable choice or not. You must have them resize your ring if you want the warranty to remain in place. The resizing is free and they did a great job with it, just took a little longer because of mailing it back and forth. Go to a local store and have them size your finger first, then this won't be an issue.

Just recently bought my wife's engagement ring from Brilliant Earth and couldn't be happier with the entire experience. Incredible service. I was nervous about making such a huge purchase on line but I'm glad I did. When making my decision to trust an online dealer you shouldn't trust this review or any other for that matter. Anyone can write it. I came across recondmondations by 60 mins and Martha Stewart in a goggle search. That pretty much sealed the deal for me. I ended up spending less for my conflict free diamond then the vendor that I was going to use... And my fiancé got her conflict free diamond so every one wins. Again, incredible service and extraordinary diamond quality!! I WILL be getting my wedding band from there as well. By the way, I did have the diamond appraised and I did see the serial number and Canadian trademark maple leaf for myself in a microscope. The stone is very legit as well as the company.

Brilliant Earth helped us design and choose both our engagement ring and wedding bands, and we couldn't be happier! We did not want to contribute to an unethical diamond industry and were conflicted about the idea of even having traditional rings...until my husband discovered Brilliant Earth. From the moment they let him bring his bike inside and offered him organic chocolate, he was hooked! Our rings are recycled platinum and the diamond is from Canada, which came with a certificate that outlined the workers benefits and pay! And, they donate some of the proceeds to African mining villages!Highly Recommend!

i bought my engagement ring through brilliant earth. even though i was not able to visit them in person, i had no problems. the website is very informative. in general, brilliant earth was very responsive and provided high quality service. we were able to get the ring re-sized without any problems. i was glad to be able to get a canadian diamond. the ring was beautiful... and she said yes!

I was nervous to be ordering a REALLY important purchase over the Internet, yet my fears were shown to be unfounded as the rings arrived on time, a representative called to be sure that they met my expectations, and they looked absolutely impeccable! I really appreciate the responsible nature of the whole service that goes into the manufacture of the ring and even that which goes into the packaging as well! The only thing I cared about was that the diamond was ethically-sourced. And, as far I can tell without traveling to Namibia myself (not all their diamonds are Canadian), my diamond is ethically sourced.The whole process from start to finish was done online (we live in Atlanta) with the aide of the very helpful website. But I did my research, and honestly, besides it being ethically-sourced, as long as it showed up shiny, I was going to be happy.But the ring is beautiful beyond anything I could have expected. I get compliments on it all the time. It outclasses me, honestly.We also ordered our wedding bands with them and had no problems with customer service or arrival.

I chose my wife's engagement ring from Brilliant Earth by chance. I was looking for conflict free diamonds and their site popped up. As soon as I saw the Seacrest ring, I knew that was it. It was even more beautiful than the picture when I received it. My wife was in love it and so were her friends. I shipped it back in order to get a custom wedding band made to match. Again, Brilliant Earth delivered above and beyond my expecations. They even resized and polished her engagement ring. Brilliant Earth is definitely worth every penny!

I found Brilliant Earth on the internet while doing research for my engagement ring. I was very keen on purchasing from them because I wanted to be sure we weren't purchasing a blood diamond. I had been very conflicted as to whether to get a diamond ring at all for this reason, for I had heard in news reports from various sources that even if diamonds are certified conflict-free, that there are smuggling practices that mask the diamonds' true origins that cannot be controlled. Then, the added bonus that Brilliant Earth uses recycled metals seemed too good to be true!
I called Customer service and talked with Danielle, who not only explained what to look for in assessing diamond quality (specific to the shape of diamond, which was a radiant cut for me), but did not put any pressure on us to purchase. She also advised me on fit, that we could special order a between size, that turned out to be the right option which now saves us from having to go through re-sizing. She also did not hesitate to recommend certain diamonds in their stock to us, based on qualities that were most important to us (color, shape/size and carat) and what qualities were important in assessing a radiant diamond. It was also clear she was familiar with other diamonds in their stock, for which I asked her opinion.
Finally, at the end of the conversation, she again congratulated us for our engagement (she greeted me with enthusiastic congrats at the beginning), that she was happy to help, and not to hesitate to call her back if we needed any help.
I don't mean to sound so Polyanna, but this is how my experience truly was. Not only was it also an easy experience for my fiancé to then purchase the ring, but it was shipped out true to the schedule she quoted him. We opened the beautiful Rimu wood box, and just stared in stunned silence. It was perfect.

We got my engagement ring and wedding band from Brilliant Earth for our wedding in July. I love Brilliant Earth! Their rings are absolutely gorgeous and I have gotten many positive comments on how beautiful they are. I didn't want a diamond (a sapphire instead) and had real issues with "blood diamonds" so I found Brilliant Earth in San Francisco, CA which supplies conflict free diamonds, gems, and recycled metals. My husband and I had actually gotten to visit their store in San Fran and we worked with Beth who was delightful. We got to look at a variety of different settings, styles, and sapphires. My husband had actually found the design we ended up getting in the diamond styles and substituted a sapphire for a diamond. It turned out beautiful! I couldn't have asked for anything better and I look forward to picking up some more jewelry soon. I would definitely recommend Brilliant Earth for future brides!

I love Brilliant Earth! They are so helpful and willing to work with you to make you happy. My engagement ring is beautiful and so is my husband's wedding ring.I did have a problem with the diamond becoming loose in my ring a year after wearing (it has never fallen out though) but as soon as I called to tell them about it, they provided me with a shipping return label, fixed it and sent it back. I had to do this twice because the ring became loose again a month after the first return. I only payed for the cost to ship it to Brilliant Earth the second time.My husband's ring had to get refitted after he received it because it was too small. We were heading through San Francisco on our trip up to the wedding and they made an appointment for us to stop in and get it fitted. They took the ring and sent it to us a couple of days later where we were staying the week before the wedding.I highly recommend them especially because of their use Canadian diamonds and recycled gold.

We ordered my engagement ring and both of our wedding bands from Brilliant Earth. To begin with, the rings are wonderful. They are beautiful and exactly what we wanted. They also appraised for substantially more than we paid for them. The staff we dealt with was also incredible. They helped us with design, engraving, financing, everything. They were friendly and helpful without being at all pushy. My (now) husband dealt with one guy when he was ordering the engagement ring and the representative was incredibly supportive and helpful without being condescending. I dealt with a different rep in ordering our wedding bands, and she was likewise terrific. In both cases, we had a specific human being to who we could direct questions and who followed us through the whole process. It was a great experience.

My wife and I weren't 100% sure what we wanted to do for wedding bands, but we knew we wanted to buy them from Brilliant Earth. I am happy to say that, not only did BE have the kind of business philosphy that we appreciated, they also made the shopping process in general much better, sending additional pictures of our top contenders on real hands so that we had a better idea of what to expect, and taking time to answer ALL of our questions, no matter how weird.It can be hard to make purchases like this online, but BE was easier than many of the brick and mortar stores we tried!

It was so important to me that our rings be very special, and as "eco-friendly" as possible. I was delighted to discover the perfect ring designs for us on the Brilliant Earth website! I found my husband's ring first - the Celtic Eternity Knot design! Then, I saw the companion ring, a Celtic Trinity Knot solitaire design! The designs themselves were lovely, and significant to us personally. But, even more important was the Brilliant Earth policy of using only recycled metals and conflict-free diamonds. The rings were also an astoundingly good value for the quality and materials. I was nervous about purchasing a ring that I wasn't able to see on my finger, but each ring is custom-made when ordered, so I had to take the leap of faith! Daniella, our sales rep, was so helpful in sending photos of the rings we chose on her finger, so I could get a sense of the scale, and in helping us to compare diamonds! When we received the end result, my husband and I were both stunned at how fabulous the rings were! We couldn't be happier with our choice! I highly recommend Brilliant Earth for wedding rings!!

there were a few issues with the initial shipping of our rings, but once they finally arrived i was amazed! my ring is so so so beautiful! the value we got for an ideal cut diamond is amazing! it feels so good to know that the diamond is canadian and the gold is recycled.

We found Brilliant Earth via Michael Soo of Soo Photography, the photographer who shot the wonderful product images for them. Their website was extremely descriptive, cleared away all our questions on the get go. Initially, our plan is to get our rings with the hearts on fire diamonds but after seeing their diamonds and design, we decided to go for their design right away. The customer service is top notched and they really care, not just about the environment, but us as brides, who are going through a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

My experience at Brilliant Earth could not have been better. We had a private consultation, which was more productive than window shopping at any other store. We found a great ring, and paired it with a fantastic blue sapphire. In the end, I bought an engagement ring that was nicer than I could have hoped for, paid a reasonable amount, and did it in a way that is socially responsible. Thanks!

My fiance (now husband) and I searched the gamut for a ring company that was ethical and aligned with our values. Coming from working for an Int'l NGO, I knew I couldn't buy a ring from any company. We were so excited to find Brilliant Earth...but after my quite horrible experience with them, I realize, this company is all about marketing and selling a story that is not their own. My experience with the company made me leave feeling like I was just another profit they made exploiting the story of those who have been unfortunately exploited before. I was devastated to find out that this company is not a sound one all the way through. I was so excited about them. Don't make the mistake of purchasing from them and then finding this out on your own!

My fiance bought our micro pave engagement ring from them, but at this time, NOTHING was told to us about how to care for the ring. My fiance was treated like a check in the box. You would think they would care for their customers instead of only caring about making a final sale?

I only wore the ring for less than 2 months when one of the diamonds fell out. After wearing the ring for 5 months total, 3 diamonds fell out. Pretty ridiculous, right? We were so worried but figured there was a manufacturing problem with the ring since I hadn't worn it long at all.

When we called to get the ring looked at, I was expecting good customer service, but instead, got berated and belittled by the employees (especially Beth - very rude). I was treated very poorly and asked why I wouldn't know how to care for a ring (since it was my fault according to them). I was shocked that this company would treat their customers that way and be so hesitant as to apologize or claim responsibility...especially since they are a company that prides themselves on caring for others. Originally, they wanted US to pay for the repair, but after hours of heated conversation, I was able to negotiate that down. I was irate, and Beth was the worst person I have ever had to deal with. This company definitely tops the list as the worst company I have ever worked with.

If they're the ring experts, instead of belittling customers and asking why we wouldn't know how to care for a ring, shouldn't they have cared for their customers and shared their knowledge from the start?

Instead, I felt like we were another profit being made off of a story that is not their own.

When my repaired ring came back, only then were there care instructions. I asked that they be included this time...after hours and hours of frustrated conversation about why my ring had lost 3 diamonds in 5 months.

I am now so embarrassed that we purchased from this company. Most companies now source their diamonds ethically. Don't get caught into their marketing story like we did...the company is not as great as it seems.

When we bought my wedding ring, we dealt with a jeweler that certified their diamonds AND spent time with us, AND ensured that we (and the ring) were well taken care of. How refreshing!! Don't purchase from them! Spend your money elsewhere...

My fiance told me to look around for ring designs that I liked and I fell in love with the Celtic Knot design from Brilliant Earth. After we found out their office is in San Francisco, we scheduled an appointment to see their rings in person. We were helped by Beth and she was very knowledgeable, friendly, but not sales-pushy in any way. I still loved the Celtic Knot when I tried it on and knew it was the one for me. He purchased the Celtic Knot setting with a round solitaire diamond. After the proposal, and a week of wearing it, I found that my ring finger had shrunk a little and we dropped it back off with Brilliant Earth to re-size from 4.5 to 4.25 for free (they will do it within 30 days of purchase).

Brilliant Earth makes beautiful conflict free and eviromentally conscious wedding rings. My husband had found them after we had gone to a couple of places and asked about the conflict free certification. Once we started reading and learning about all the loopholes around getting the certification he came acrosse Brilliant Earth. The diamonds are Canadian mined and the platinum is partially recycled. They also give 5% of the proceeds back to African Communities that are harmed by the diamong mining process. The ring is gorgeous and the service was wonderful. I get lots of compliments on the ring and I am happy to know that if came from a company doing great things.

We bought both of our rings from the Brilliant Earth website. My ring is a conflict free diamond wedding band and my husband's is a recycled gold wedding band. Not only does this company make conflict free jewelry, they also donate 5% of profits to African communities harmed by the diamond industry. Our rings are beautiful and we could not be happier with this company! This one is a no brainer: gorgeous jewelry and a company that has ethics!

Amazing. Don't be discouraged if you don't live in California. We live in Rhode Island and bought our bands online, communicated on a one-on-one basis with BE through email and telephone. They are all that is missing in customer service these days. For our green wedding we chose to forgo a diamond engagement ring but they sell conflict free. We also opted for recycled platinum bands....really wide ones. They are beautiful comfort fit bands. All of their jewelry is made from responsibly mined golds, platinums, silvers, etc. Their stones are also responsibly mined and they even give 5% of their profits to benefit communities devistated by the jewelry trade....all that and exceptional customer service too!

I LOVE my rings from Brilliant Earth. My husband got my engagement ring here (beautiful!) and we went back to look for wedding rings. The womens' bands are great and seem like a good value. The mens' bands seemed a bit expensive - same price for a metal band as for one with diamonds. We ended up getting my band here while my husband got his elsewhere. They are very professional and take care of you while you are there. They send you emails and keep in contact with you. They also carry only conflict-free diamonds, a huge plus. I would definitely recommend checking them out if you want to be cared for!

I feel good knowing that Brilliant Earth used only responsibly sourced gems and recycled metals to make my ring, and am proud of my husband for his good taste! Naturally, we went back together to pick out our wedding rings. We are lucky to be able to visit the San Francisco office, where the staff were helpful and not at all pushy, but their website also seems easy to use for those who are not in the area.

Plus they were extremely flexible with resizing... though the rings were bought in San Francisco, the wedding was in Pennsylvania, and when the wedding band didn't fit, though it was past the 30 day window, they understood the logistics and still resized it for free. We got both our wedding bands from Brilliant Earth. They were very patient while I tried to decide which ring to get. They found a solution to our problem... we wanted the luster of platinum, but we didn't want to pay the high price. They suggested making a custom ring out of recycled palladium. It is in the same family as platinum, but costs less than white gold. I was dissapointed that the return policy does not apply to our rings b/c they were custom. They have banged up a bit, but are nice overall. If you don't need to see the ring in person, I recommend Brilliant Earth.

Beth of Brilliant Earth was absolutely fabulous, working with us who have never custom-designed jewelry before. She walked us through every step and answered innumerous questions. If you are in the market for conflict-free, green jewelry, Brilliant Earth offers non-African (Canadian) diamonds and all recycled platinum. But the best part was definitely the service that came with the products. Brilliant Earth took care of every concern that came up with our custom-designed, hand-made jewelry without question or fuss. Now we have our personally created rings and we love them!

The short: the owners are great, the products are beautiful, but we had a few hiccups along the way.The long: We were looking for some socially-responsible jewelry, so we ended up getting both the engagement ring and the wedding bands at Brilliant Earth. They have a nice no-pressure showroom, for which an appointment is required. While they are happy to advance order some stones in your range, they have a limited selection on hand. We originally walked in thinking we wanted a diamond of a particular size. While it was nice to be able to see loose diamonds that fit our parameters, what was missing was an opportunity to see what a ring with a stone of that size would look like on my fiancee's finger. Holding the diamond on top of the setting gave us some idea, but it wasn’t the same. This led us to trek over to Tiffany & Co. immediately after leaving BE, because we knew we could see what that size diamond in a setting looked like there. For us, it wasn’t about seeing the actual diamond in the setting, but seeing something of that size in the setting, which BE didn't allow us to do. Once we decided what we wanted, BE was very helpful about arranging shipping. We went back to get our wedding bands, and we found one that matched the engagement ring perfectly and one for "him" too. The groom's ring didn't fit when it arrived, and I made an appointment request that was never confirmed (or denied), and they weren't able to squeeze me in when I showed up at that time. It would have probably taken less than 5 minutes to drop off the ring with the resizing instructions (despite having been measured at the store when I picked out the ring). The owners were extremely apologetic and offered another appointment time, but it was still frustrating. They were able to resize the ring and send it back in time for the wedding. All of the rings look great, and I would use them again, but it could have gone smoother.

We got our wedding bands from Brilliant Earth and they're gorgeous!! We wanted to go an ethical route and all of their gold is reclaimed. Their sales people are fabulous too as we had considered getting one of their engagement rings as well. We couldn't quite decide based on the online image so their sales associate photographed the ring I wanted to see on her hand from several different angles so I could really get an idea what it looked like! We ended up using a different jeweler for the engagement ring, but we'll certainly look back to Brilliant Earth for any future jewelry purchases.And, as a side note-- their packaging and presentation was beautiful. I'm a graphic designer, so I probably notice these things more than others, but the packing box with their logo, and their printed materials were done very nicely. And the rings were inside of a wooden box that has their logo carved onto the top of it! Nice work!

Both my engagement ring and wedding band are from Brilliant Earth. Though purchased a year apart and hand-engraved, they were willing to match the patterns and make them a perfect set. They have reasonable prices and a great selection, but best of all their service is outstanding and their pieces are not only gorgeous but also socially-aware and eco-friendly. They do not support blood diamonds- EVER, in any way; AND they use recycled gold! I could not recommend them more.

Brilliant Earth has a very nice selection (hopefully I'll be getting more things from them for future Christmases and birthdays!) and were very easy to work with. They communicated with us throughout the order process and made it easy for us to switch out Stu's ring for a different one once we received the first order. They even asked us to contact them to let them know we received the rings! The handmade boxes were beautiful and were a very nice touch. We were so happy with them, we've recommended them to all our friends who are about to get engaged or married.

We selected Brilliant Earth because of the beautiful craftsmanship as well as the fact that they use only 'green' gold and non-conflict diamonds. We ordered our bands online, and the were shipped to us within 4 weeks. They came out beautiful, and I would definitely recommend them over other jewelers because they were a LOT cheaper-we got both my husband and my band for around $800, and for what I had seen of similar bands like mine in stores around me it is comparable to a $1000 wedding band. And I feel good about knowing that the materials were mined sustainably and fairly-Great choice for those, like me, trying to go 'eco-friendly' with their wedding but still have a beautiful day.

I can't say enough good things about this company. My fiance and I had talked about getting a used ring or something like that to avoid all of the horrible political messiness that comes with buying blood diamonds. I was so excited that he found this local company that does only conflict-free diamonds and recycled metals.Their styles are stones are gorgeous and you can customize your ring to your taste. Eric (the co-owner, I believe) was extremely helpful. He worked around our schedules to set up meetings (they don't have a storefront) and took the time to explain everything to us non-condescendingly or too salesman-y. They were refreshingly honest and told us that they $4K engagement ring we liked was actually nicer in some ways than the $6K one they originally recommended. We got our bands there as well.I was so pleased and really wouldn't consider buying diamonds anywhere else! Also, although they work in SF you can order through their website anywhere in the country.
