My 5 Star Rating goes for the professionalism, service, responsiveness, etc of the staff on the actual wedding day (servers, maitre d, chef, etc). My word of warning to brides who are thinking of using the Brock House - when you are speaking to the catering managers and you feel like they are useless - don't worry, they are, but they don't actually have anything to do with your wedding the day of, they're just in charge of the 'sales' side of things and booking dates.
The servers were super professional, looked sharp and were very attentive to the guests. The maitre d Jeremy, was excellent. He made sure everything went perfectly and that my husband and I were taken care of and stress free the whole night. The most amazing part - the food. It was to die for. I expected wedding food to be not so great - but when we went for our tasting we were astounded. We had filet mignon and baked salmon as choices and they were INCREDIBLE. Literally, incredible. People have not stopped talking about how amazing the food was at our wedding and we will be returning to the restaurant for all of our anniversaries.
All of my wedding vendors leading up to the day told me I wasn't allowed to be stressed because I was getting married at the Brock House and it is the least stressful venue in all of Vancouver to get married at because: 1. the ceremony and reception are at the same place which makes it much much easier, and 2. the staff are amazing and take care of everything and make sure everything runs perfectly. They were absolutely right. Consider getting married in off-season months (Sept, Oct) to make it more affordable. :)

Brock House is the most beautiful wedding venue, located on Jericho beach with the beautiful ocean and mountain back-drop to a luscious lawn and garden. Brock House takes care of so many of the little details of your wedding, you wouldn't even need to hire a wedding planner. There isn't much that needs to be done in order to decorate Brock House into a perfect wedding venue. Most of the set up is classy and beautiful finished alone! Many of our guests kept commenting in awe the whole night on the beauty of our venue choice and that it was one of, if not the most beautiful weddings they had ever attended. They cater their own events and the food is top-notch; Delicious with various options to choose from. Not to mention, the employees are so helpful and professional. They treated us, being the bride and groom, like royalty on our wedding day!

Beautiful venue and backdrop makes it difficult to say anything bad about location. Contacts at Brock House were great to work with. Very friendly and professional. Food was fantastic.

We had our ceremony in the day time at Brock House which was very reasonable in terms of cost. The day was beautiful and we were able to get married outside, next to the beach. All of our guests loved the settings and the food, which was plentiful and very fresh. The staff were excellent and very professional, especially the catering manager and the maitre d' who helped ensure everything went smoothly. There were no problems and it was a perfect day!

The staff at Brock House were friendly and very professional. Our guests raved about the service they received and enjoyed the evening. As the bride and groom, we have a server wait on us and that was a pleasant surprise = ). The wait staff was always available and did their best ensure the evening went well. The only issue we had was that the parking lot was full when we arrived and the cars did not belong to our wedding party or guests.

The food at our wedding was delightful! All the courses were served quickly and came out warm, which is very important. The salmon was raved about, even by the pickiest eaters and was so moist! We had a sit down dinner, and the servers did a great job. The venue itself is unique for an outdoor wedding, that offers a backup plan, incase of rain. The tent was great for the reception, but the $400 tent fee is a bit much. The bridal room was great, but could have used a fan, as it was really warm in their. All in all, we're very happy with our experience with the Brock House.
So, they aren't the cheapest place in town, but having a ceremony and reception at the Brock House reduces the need for a wedding planner. They take care of everything, and have designated DJ's and decorators, which is great. This place is in demand, but they are not pretentious or arrogant about it, as we found some other places to be.

Brock House is a perfect wedding venue. Just know that they are also one of the most coveted wedding locations in the city. With this in mind, your expectations should be manged accordingly.
They have an F&B minimum, and will try to upsell at every opportunity. They do not have a great inventory/reporting system to back up the bar totals for the night. The Catering Manager is just that- a catering manager. Not a wedding planner. They will most likely not even be on site during your wedding.
The servers are delightful, and mostly caring and profesional, but they have a schedule and a way of doing things that you, the customer, need to adhere to. Again, it is just about managing expectations.
You have to use their F&B services, their approved DJ and their decorator. But, the decorator and the DJ are reasonable priced, when in all honesty, they could take the opportunty to inflate their costs based on exclusivity.
The food is delicious, the location is perfect, and you can have yoru ceremony, garden & beach pictures, and reception in one locale.
We loved it, but those on a tighter budget may be more challenged.
Also know the building is a heritage house. No AC in the brides room, and no bathrooms that easily fit a wedding dress!
