Brook Lodge Hotel & Conference Resort

It is a tragedy that this place place is closing. The staff was excellent and attentive for the entire planning process and through out our wedding party's weekend stay. The chef worked with us to create a custom meal for our guests. The wedding planning staff was in constant communication with me for the preceding months. The catering staff asked around to find out about my decorating and color preferences to add extra flair to my rehearsal dinner when a snag elsewhere left me unavailable. Guests are still raving about the quality of the food. The grounds were beautifully manicured and left us with breathtaking pictures. Almost everyone I talked to proclaimed it the best wedding they had ever attended. Because we moved up our wedding to keep our business at the venue, we received some EXCELLENT discounts. (They are being shut down by Michigan State, which owns the property, due to budgetary issues in this tight economy.) I really hope that once the economic situation changes, other brides will have the opportunity to let Brook Lodge plan their dream weddings as well.

We had some difficulty because a few people quit during the time for planning so our contact was changing constantly. We were a little unhappy with the choices for how to do the bar and they were very unflexible in their choices. However, we had our rehearsal dinner there which was amazing, a bonfire outside. We then had our ceremony and reception which went amazing, and they did such a good job with service and taking care of everything afterwards. They set up tables early to accomodate my florist and the grounds were gorgeous. The pricing was a little steep but we were so happy with our wedding weekend that it was definitely worth it!

Brook Lodge is a fantastic venue to have your rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception! The staff is very professional, extremely helpful, and very organized. Our photo's are absolutely beautiful as the grounds provide many opportunities for backgrounds. The food was amazing! Our meals were served hot and the service was prompt. One more added benefit is onsite lodging with breakfast in the morning. As our wedding night concluded some of our most important guests opted to stay at Brook Lodge. It was especially nice to wake up and have an extraordinary breakfast with everyone to share one last moment of thanks. I highly recommend Brook Lodge as your wedding venue! You get what you pay for! Our wedding was flawless, a perfect wedding! I will always remember how special our day was thanks to their staff.

Brook Lodge was a gorgeous setting for our wedding. The staff was all wonderful and very accommodating. We couldn't have picked a better location for our wedding and reception.

at our colleagues’ recommendation, the bridal shower was held here even though we didn’t want to go to Augusta. The scenery was very beautiful and tranquil. The great food and fun at the shower were amazing. The food combined with the background was one of the best we’ve ever enjoyed. It was very hospitable and spacious environment so I wish I could stay there for days!

Brook Lodge was an amazing place to have my reception. The quality of the site location is unmatchable, and the staff that I worked with offered a peace of mind that I don't think I can put a price tag on. Whenever I had a request to change something we'd talked through, or questioned whether we could try something new, they were SO willing to listen to the ideas and very responsive in getting back with me. Everything, from the small details about the event day, to just basic common courtesy in every day interactions was wonderful. It was such a pleasure to work with the Brook Lodge staff. Everyone from the event coordinator, the grounds staff, the AV coordinator, the chefs... they were all great. I would recommend using Brook Lodge as your reception site without reservation! Look forward to working with great people!

Over all our ceremony and reception at Brook Lodge was amazing. The staff was very nice and helpful. The value was great. We booked a wedding package and it was nice to have everything all in one. Mandy was wonderful and extremely helpful throughout the whole process. She made the day go extremely smooth. They were very flexible with changes and requests. the grounds were beautiful. There were a few small issues that we had. The food served at the reception (salad, appetizer, and main course) was not like we had tried during our tasting of the menu. I was a little embarrassed that the meats were overcooked, dry, and kinda bland. The sauces and options were had chosen had been changed somewhat and left something to be desired. However, the hor d'oeuvres were very good and the guests loved them. Our wedding cake was butchered when it was cut for guests. Left over cake was messy and poorly cut. I had a crystal cake topper that was thrown in a box and broken. I was very sad since my mother had purchased it for me. Finally our bill was extremely unorganized and confusing. We are still not sure what we really were charged for. The cost came out less than expected so we didn't say anything but for all we know we got charged for stuff we shouldn't have and it looks as if we got charged tax on top of tax.

We would highly recommend Brook Lodge to anyone, especially in the winter. Their winter package provides an exceptional value and we literally had the entire grounds to ourselves. The customer service and courtesy to our guests the day of the event was wonderful. We were very pleased.

I was thrilled with Brook Lodge and would highly recommend to others. I thought the quality of food and service was excellent. I got many compliments from my guests on the food, the beautiful grounds and the friendly service. Jamie, the wedding coordinator, was very friendly, helpful and responsive. I was living in a different state & came in two days before the wedding. I dropped everything off a day before the wedding & it was all taken care of for me (e.g. setting out photos, favors, etc), which made for a very stress-free bride on her wedding day. Overall, I thought the value was excellent given everything that was included. A couple people commented that the hotel rooms were a little small and perhaps a little dated but the beautiful grounds, group living rooms & wonderful breakfast more than made up for it. Our stay in the cottage was wonderful. Also, I really liked my vendors, all of which were on the recommended vendor list, excluding my florist who I will recommend be added.

Brook Lodge was the perfect place for our destination wedding. All of our guests were able to stay at the venue with us, and we all agreed it was one of the most beautiful sites in the Midwest. The staff was friendly and helpful, the food was remarkable, and the activities were countless! There was something for everyone (from paddle boating to golfing!). Our wedding was memorable and gorgeous, and many guests remarked it was the nicest they had ever attended. Brook Lodge was a major contributor to that sentiment.

Every phase of the planning was very professional. Things were documented and immediately changed when necessary. The entire staff at Brook Lodge was courteous, professional and efficient. The value seemed expensive, but actually turned out to be well worth the value received.

Everyone else has pretty much said everything I would have said about Brook Lodge. Some people have given it low scores on flexibility. While my Day-of Coordinator was a little peeved by their way of doing things, I was an out-of-town bride and I thought it was great. They knew what to do, and I wasn't particular about where tables were placed, how the places were set, ect. It was very convenient and helpful- I had no desire to micromanage. I had a very silly idea for place cards that required a lot of set-up, and they were very accommodating to that. I gave them 5 stars for that reason. Overall, my guests and even my MIL (who has very discriminating taste) were as delighted with Brook Lodge as I was. My wedding was about as perfect as it could have been, thanks to the amazing staff there.

From the convenient cottage set-up of the guest rooms to their unique banquet facilities and exceptional service Brook Lodge is top knotch! You can't take a bad picture on the grounds, every inch is perfectly manicured by their hard-working grounds team. The culinary team provides amazing flavor combinations that will have your guests talking about the meal for months after your big day. All of our guests are still talking about the great time they had at our wedding, I highly recommend Brook Lodge and their incredible team!

I have noting but positive things to say about Brook Lodge! The staff is so responsive and helpful. All our requests were addressed immediately. The setting is amazing, the landscaping is impeccable. Brook Lodge an intimate location and my guests really enjoyed their time there. It's fun to have an event like a bonfire there too. The food was excellent and the menu is quite varied. I felt like we got great value and personal service at Brook Lodge. They made every aspect of planning our wedding very easy and we have teriffic memories of our time there.

My wedding day and everything leading up to it was amazing. The staff at Brook Lodge was more than accommodating. I would definitely recommend them in the future. Brook Lodge was absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend them! They went out of their way to make our day perfect. They threw in extra little touches that we didn't know about and immediately answered our day of requests. Things like bringing out a special tray of appetizers for the bridal party because we didn't get a chance to eat during the cocktail hour.

The venue is absolutely fantastic! They are a little bit expensive, but we were able to curb a lot of costs by having our wedding at lunch instead of dinner. The accommodations are wonderful, and the staff is very responsive.
