Brownstone Gardens

This wedding was for our daughter. Brownstone Gardens was fabulous! The setting was absolutely beautiful, the food was magnificent and the service was outstanding. Kay-Kay made everything easy to deal with and stress free. Okay, when we did get stressed, she handled everythihng with professionalism and took away our stress. I hope one day when my son gets married, that they will choose this place too. I loved it!!!

First off let me just say I highly recommend this venue to all brides, extravagant wedding or minimalists, large budget or small, check this place out if you are doing the outdoor wedding route. My husband and I fell in love with this venue the second we walked under its canopy of vines and trees and words escaped our mouths as we walked the grounds to find what seemed like endless amounts of flower species. From the very beginning the response time was the best we had come across and they let us bring family, on multiple occasions, to look at this gorgeous secret garden. I can honestly say that our pictures were made beautiful because of the scenery being so vibrant and natural. Another plus side to all of the plants and flowers is that you save SO MUCH MONEY by not having to deck to the place out with flowers and decorations that you have quite a large chunk of your budget you can put towards something else! You and your lovely ladies also have a room and bathroom you can get ready in which was quite convenient and hard to find at garden venues so I LOVED having that amenity. I loved it here so much that every time somebody gets engaged I tell them to check it out just because I can't see anybody ever NOT wanting to use this place even though I already did.

Not really knowing what kind of venue we wanted, we were thankful to have found Brownstone Gardens. The first time we walked in through the garden, we knew this would be "the one". Our original selected date was already booked, but that did not stop us from selecting another. Our guest loved the placed and enjoyed, even though it turned out to be a "Friday" event! We still had a great turnout, considering the Friday afternoon commute hours. Jacqui, Brownstone's coordinator was great and so was Diana. The jumpy for the kids was a hit [Jacqui took care of this and hiring the babysitter]!

We actually found this venue by one of our friends getting married here the year before us. We fell in love when we went to their wedding. They raved about Kay-Kay and how amazing she was so we were very excited when we decided to book our wedding their as well. The wedding itself was absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately a few things did not go as planned because Kay-Kay was not our planner. Our planner was super nice and a total sweetheart, but there were some things that didn't get done that we had requested. All in all, we do not regret having our wedding there at all because it was absolutely gorgeous! We just wish somethings could have turned out differently and we wouldn't have been so rushed at our own wedding. But at the end of the day, it was a wedding and you can't expect it to go perfectly! We still highly recommend Brownstone, just make sure you are extremely involved and stress things that you absolutely do not want to go wrong. We had so many compliments from people saying it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to and that is thanks to brownstone.

A surprisingly nice place to have a wedding. We had looked further away and decided we wanted something closer. This was the best decision we could have made. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The accomadations, from parking to having enough area to dance, were excellent. I would definitely recommend this to anyone trying to have a nice wedding for a reasonable price.

From the moment my daughter saw this venue she knew it was where she wanted to get married. It is beautiful!

Being a former wedding coordinator, I was very concerned about working at my daughters' wedding rather than enjoying being the "mother of the bride". No worries, though, because Carol was amazing! From the day we met her through the actual wedding day, she was professional, helpful and available for us. She took care of everything! I trusted her to coordinate all the events on the day of the wedding so I could enjoy the festivities, and she did! It was absolutely perfect!

Everyone at theBrownstone Gardens did everything possible to make my daughter's wedding dreams come true - it was perfect!

The entire staff at Brownstone Gardens truly went above and beyond the call of duty to make our wedding the most beautiful day ever. From the overall coordination of the ceremony, the sit down dinner reception, to settin each and every table with our unique, fragile, customized centerpieces, they took extra care in making sure our wedding was more than we ever imagined it could be. They are all so nice and Carol and Jacqui were especially professional in all dealings with them. This Venue was everything my husband and I could ever ask for. Its so beautiful and the price is very reasonable!!! The staff is amazing, which made it very EASY to plan our wedding. They basically do everything for you! THANK YOU BROWNSTONE GARDENS!!!!

We had 3 months to plan our sons wedding. The entire staff at Brownstone was so flexible and patient with us. They helped us with the DJ and he was the best i have ever had. The grounds are so beautiful and you barely need any decorations because it is beautiful. There is so many photo areas on the ground. the price was so nice. We looked around so many places and we found they were the best price for what we needed......

My husband and I got married at Brownstone Gardens on June 5th, 2010. We both knew we wanted to get married outside it was hard for us to find a venue that was not a golf course and was resonably priced, that was until we found Brownstone. From our first meeting at Brownstone I knew this was the perfect venue. Kay- Kay and her staff made planning my dream wedding so easy and stress free. From caterer tastings to picking our DJ, Brownstone gardens was a life saver. Like Stephanie, most of my guests state that our wedding was the most fun they had ever had at a wedding (they loved our food, our Dj Mike Vincent and of course the photobooth). All the staff at Brownstone were accomadating (we were able to get a jumpee for all the kids along with babysitters so all the parents could have a good time), hard working and were willing do do whatever they had needed to do to get the job done. It was so incredible to be able to enjoy my day with my freinds and family and not worry about what was going on in the background. Kay- Kay and her staff were able to handle everything that came their way so we were able to enjoy our day without any worries or stress. I recommend Brownstone Gardens to all my newly engaged friends because of the amazing expereince we had with them.

Everyone told me that my wedding was the best one they had ever been to. Every vendor they referred me to was abosutely perfect and it made my life so much easier. One of the best parts was the wedding coordinator that works for Brownstone. I simply gave Brownstone a timeline of the event and on my wedding day I did not have to stress out once. The coordinator did everything and it was such a relief to get to just enjoy my wedding instead of worrying about every detail. Brownstone Gardens was an amazing venue to get married at. Not only is the backdrop stunning in any season, the lights around the dance floor set the mood, and the staff will bend over backwards to make your night special! In preparing for the wedding, the staff listened to every detail, and knew just the right questions to ask. They were there the night of the wedding, ready for anything! Nothing to complain about :)

Beautiful grounds makes such a wonderful atmosphere for special occasions. Staff is responsive, creative, well-organized, and professional, and works hard to make the day as flawless as possible. Would recommend to all brides looking for an outdoor venue with a quaint, garden-like atmosphere for their special day.

Brownstone Gardens went above and beyond any of my dreams. The communication they had with us from our first meeting until the day of or wedding was prompt and detailed. They were professional and even made some very helpful recommendations for local vendors. My hometown was nearby but I have since moved out of the state and was planning my wedding long distance. They made me feel at ease that everything would be just fine even though I was so far away. But as a couple who funded their own wedding, maybe the most helpful detail was what we received for our money. There was no additional charges for things like plates and glasses. They didn't make us feel like we needed to cut our corners or leave things out because of our budget. Our ceremony and reception for 125 turned out absolutely amazing and we will never forget it. I don't think anywhere else could compare to the experience we had at Brownstone Gardens!

I had my wedding at Brownstone Gardens on August 9, 2009. Before the wedding Brownstone Gardens was very helpful with providing a lot of vendors. We went to 2 food tastings before the wedding before we chose our caterers. They answered any questions that we had before the wedding.

The power went out the day of the wedding because someone had hit a power pole nearby! However, Brownstone Gardens worked hard to get a generator for the wedding music and everything. The D.J. was able to play the wedding entrance songs with his laptop computer. P.G&E replaced the power pole and the power was restored right when it was time to start the wedding reception. The food was great!
A lot of people said that the wedding and wedding site was beautiful! A lot of them said how did you find this place? The wedding site is pretty and is very memorable.
New things are always being added to make this site more and more beautiful all the time.

I found Brownstone Gardens to be very affordable compared to a lot of other wedding venues.

Brownstone Gardens is a place like no other in the bay area. If you are looking for an amazing outdoor facility that will enchant your guests this is IT! When your driving out there it doesn't seem like anything this great could be out there, but it's worth the drive. They also have the Hampton Inn right down the street (less than 2 miles) and they were very accomidating for us and our guests.

Brownstone Gardens really is a diamond in the rough. It is a beautiful site, but surrounded by some run down property. Everyone was very pleasantly surprised once they walked into the garden area. We loved the ability to use the expansive front lawn area for our photos and cocktail hour (Soju cocktails as there was no hard liquor allowed). We were married in a church so used the side ceremony area as a children's play nook. The parents all loved it as it kept the numerous children there entertained so the adults could enjoy the party. We brought in a small bouncy house and lots of toys for the kids. I wouldn't have known it was there as the area is contained, so there were no eyesores. The reception area is just beautiful - lush multi-leveled garden with gorgeous mood lighting - the transition from afternoon to night was incredible. There were butterflies floating around all afternoon. Because our wedding was quite large (230+ people) we sat our friends in the sunken dance floor and the staff broke down the tables afterwards for dancing. We knew they wouldn't be sitting anyway...

We only had a few complaints, but they were completely overshadowed by the wonderful day we had. The wedding director was nice, but could have been more professional. She fell ill the day of our wedding so her father (the owner and groundskeeper) fell into the position of running things on the wedding day. He didn't really know what we wanted and you could tell that this wasn't his gig. Good thing my bridesmaids went to oversee the setup that morning. We didn't get a phone call from the director after the wedding to see how it all went, even though we spent thousands of dollars for her services and she couldn't be there. I understand she couldn't help being sick, but a phone call after would really have been nice. Also, the glassware situation was odd. They only had enough glasses for each of my guests to have ONE glass the entire night for water AND wine (basically they had to choose how they were going to use it). They wouldn't allow us to bring in our own glassware, so we had to use plastic. However, it still confused everyone at dinner.

The food was good but the servers at the buffet were literally high school students and the food was kind of slopped on the plate.

PROS: No corkage fee (!!), beautiful setting, warm central valley/bay area weather in the evening, accessible for Central Valley and Bay Area travelers
CONS: No hard alcohol, very Mom-and-Pop organization, rental of items was odd - you couldn't rent chairs or glassware on your own but they didn't offer a lot of what we needed. Chiavari chairs were available through them through a rental facility, so became way too expensive to do. Catering choices were limited. Limited restaurants/hotels for rehearsal dinner and guests. We went to Skippolini's pizza in Antioch - delicious!

Brownstone Gardens is such a beautiful place. The Brownstone staff truly make it your day. While planning my wedding I had such a overwhelming work schedule and Kay-Kay would always find a time to make things work for me. They responded to my questions/e-mails promptly and always reminded me that I could always call anytime if I had questions. The day of the wedding I walked in to and I started crying because Brownstone Gardens did such an amazing job. My wedding was a dream come true becuase of their help.

Brownstone Gardens is an oasis in Oakley, California. I really wanted to be married at my church in Antioch, but worried about finding a local reception venue. We wanted an elegant outdoor setting, but didn't want family and friends to have to travel too far. I stumbled upon Brownstone's website one evening and made an appointment to visit that week. My fiance and I knew the minute we walked in that we'd found the right place. The canopy of trees, the waterfull, the coy pond, flowers, and grapevines transported us. We felt like we were really some place special. The natural beauty of the gardens also meant that we would save time and money on the decor. The owners were easy to talk to, understood our point of view, and offered plenty of options and services allowing us to customize our event to our budget and vision. The payment plan that Brownstone set up made paying for the the event manageable, and it was no problem when we decided to upgrade our linens and table setting later down the line. E-mails and phone calls were returned promptly when I had questions and the manager regularly kept in touch making me feel more relaxed about the wedding planning. It was also a huge stress reliever that Brownstone Gardens provided all the set-up and tear-down--I didn't have to recruit family or friends to do the grunt work. The day of the wedding ran according to plan, no problems. Our goal for the night was for family and friends to have a great time and they certainly did. Three years later and I'm still receiving positive feedback from guests about the beautiful venue, the great food, and the dancing on the beautiful sunken dance floor. Another plus is the great photo opportunities at Brownstone Gardens. There are so many picturesque backdrops for stunning wedding shots! Brownstone Gardens was definitely worth the cost and we'd have our wedding there again in a heartbeat. I definitely recommend it to anyone in the East Bay looking for a classy, outdoor site for any event.

Brownstone is an excellent venue, for whatever big event you have planned. The grounds are beautiful and the staff is amazing. They took care of all the hard work for us...and pretty much did everything else for us as well. They are a kind, Christian family that will make your event go perfectly.

Brownstone Gardens made my wedding day perfect. From the employee's to the food everything was great. The most beautiful setting for a wedding. I had a night time wedding and it was gorgeous. Brownstone worked with me on everything and the flowers came out beautiful. If you want your special day to be perfect definately have your wedding at Brownstone Gardens. Prices are very good and reasonable and the staff are the sweetest people you can ever meet.

I always enjoy officiating a wedding at Brownstone Gardens. It's a beautiful and shady oasis on a HOT summer day. The staff is welcoming and easy to work with. They go out of their way to check and double-check all the details to make sure the wedding day is as close to perfect as it can be.
