AMAZING! It's 4 days after our wedding, and already BSC has put up a blog post with 50+ pictures and a very sweet write up. The pictures themselves are better than we could have ever imagined. Beautiful, tasteful, and completely our style - none of those stuffy, traditionally posed wedding photos.

As for Matt and his assistant, they made us feel totally comfortable. They took the time to get perfect shots of our wedding party throughout our ceremony and reception site, and also captured amazing candid moments. They fit right in with our wedding party - Matt is a super cool guy.

During the planning process he worked with us and we found a package within our budget. I would recommend BSC to every single on of my friends getting married in CT. 5+ stars, we couldn't be...

Where do we begin? First and foremost thank you. Lets start from the beginning. I was watching the weather one morning and a local weather man (Gil Simmons) posted images from his wedding shot by Matt Branscombe from BSC photo. I went over to my computer and googled BSC. I was amazed at what I saw. I told my now husband Rich that we had to have Matt shoot our wedding. I emailed BSC set up an appointment met with Matt and booked him that same day. Fast forward to about a week before our wedding, once again we met with Matt and went over everything. I was a little stressed about the weather due to the fact rain was looming! But Matt and his wife Lindsay assured me that Matt is a goodluck charm and its never been a complete wash out at any wedding Matt's shot. The Day of the wedding, as I arrived home Matt was waiting and it was raining! After about a hour of shooting and my dog finally relaxed it was time to go to church. Matt was outside waiting and as I walked out it stopped raining and I was able to walk the 100 yards to church! Matt really is a GOODLUCK charm.
Matt's attention to detail, professionalism and sheer talent for photography is outstanding. We love how his photography tells a story and is not posed or awkward. Everything is refreshing and organic.
Thankyou so much for making us feel fabulous on our wedding day. We cant wait to work with Matt and his team again.

Words cannot describe Matt Branscombe’s talent, but we will do our best to explain him and his work. We knew from the moment we saw his portfolio we wanted Matt to capture our wedding day in pictures. To have photographer who you can trust on this important day of your lives is difficult, but Matt put us at ease as we knew he’d catch every memory. His pictures are inspiring to even look at, and if you have an opportunity to work with him then you are a head of pack. Matt is professional, captivating and personable. He took the time to get to know us as a couple and our story is told in his photos. He captured the littlest details of our wedding as well as the full ambiance of our day. Matt is easy to work with and works quickly to get the bride and groom back to their guests –which is much appreciated. We were also grateful that he didn’t pose us, but rather gave us space to naturally smile, laugh and love one another which he seized the moment. Our pictures are absolutely amazing and his work is like no other. When you do have the chance to work with Matt, you can rest easy knowing you are in the best hands this business has to offer.

Working with BSC Photo was actually a pleasurable experience. It wasn't like having to interview other vendors, rather it was like planning something with a friend. Matt and his assistant were like ninjas throughout our wedding day When we saw some of the pictures (and how amazing they were) we had to ask ourselves, "Did you see Matt at this point? How did he get this shot?!".

Simply put: amazing.

Matt Branscombe and his associate were absolutely fantastic. Our photos are amazing and they were so creative and artistic with the set-ups. We honestly couldn't be happier with their services. They also worked with our budget and customized the right package for us, which we really appreciated. All in all, I would (and will) recommend them to anyone I know who is looking for an amazing wedding photographer.

Matt and Mike over at BSC Photo were nothing short of AWESOME!! Matt met my wife and I at our house and explained everything he does thoroughly. He was cool right of the bat and we hired him right away. The day of our engagement pictures was fantastic. We met them in New Haven and took some amazing photos. We left pretty much all creativity up to them and they came through perfectly. They were easy to work with and made us feel comfortable as we were a little nervous to be the center of attention.

As for the day of the wedding, Matt went to my wife's mother's house where her and her bridesmaids were preparing for the day. He was a constant help not only with taking great photos but also giving experienced pointers to my wife and the ladies to help them through the day. She was delighted with his expertise and coolness through the morning and not to mention taking some teriffic photos. Mike came to my house as me and my groomsmen were preparing/playing some drinking games. He fit right in with us and took sweet pics. Very happy with they're work throughout the entire pre-wedding. Especially when we were taking the photos at the hotel beforehand, great time! They knew everything to do. They set up the first-look photos flawlessly. It was like a magazine shoot.

Throughout the ceremony and reception they did an absolutely amazing job. I swear with the hundreds of photos they took it's like they weren't even there. The angles they got, the details, the entire way they captured our special day was truly amazing. They were eager to take very cool and clever shots for us, which is what we wanted. We wanted outside-the-box, stimulating and sophisticated pictures and they 100% delivered, including a well documented dance party! When we asked for certain types of pictures they took them as if they were reading our minds. Seriously.

All-in-all we would totally recommend BSC Photo. They were cool as hell. Not only were they easy to work with but also fun and not too mention professional. We're ecstatic about our photos and couldn't ask for anything more. Perfection in its truest form.

Matt & Mike of BSC Photo are unbelievably creative and professional. I could not have asked for a better representation of my engagement and wedding day. Being a creative person myself, I had very high expectations of what I wanted and expected to be delivered. BSC Photo went above and beyond my expectations. I had the most innovative and special engagement stop-motion video save the date and every detail I put in to my wedding was captured on film by BSC Photo. Not to mention that not one guest was interrupted by a "camera guy + flash" and some of the shots, looking back, I was like "how did they get that?" - A++++++++++

We used Matt and his team for our wedding almost two years ago and it was one of the best decisions we made! He was attentive to our budget, willing to go the extra mile and adapt to our needs, friendly, honest and provided us with some amazing photos. I couldn't recommend him more highly. He also helped us with recommending other vendors that he felt would fit our needs nicely, which was a great help.

Before the wedding, I talked with Matt about my fiancé and his amazingly short attention span. I loved what I had seen of Matt and Mike’s work and wanted our photos to rock, but I had been worried if they were getting too close during the ceremony my fiancé would stop looking at me and start looking at them. After voicing my concerns, Matt assured me that they would be conscious of their movements. When the day arrived, Matt stayed true to his word. Even our guests did not notice as they moved around to get some breathtaking shots. Matt and Mike were great getting every kind of photo – candids, action shots, and portraits.
Both Matt and Mike were cool and laid back (my MoH said that she could see herself being good friends with both of them lol). Their attitudes and style put everyone at ease, which made for some amazing photos.
I do not think I could pick just one photo as my favorite. Each time I look through the photos, I have some sort of emotional response. Every photo tells a story and I love every shot – even the ones which are not as flattering =).

I realize I am in the minority, but BSC photo did not provide the value we were expecting based on the amount we spent. While it certainly sounded great to have a more photojounalistic approach, our actual photos were not that great in terms of having everyone in the family represented with good shots. For example, small profiles from the distance while walking down the aisle over a sea of blurry heads is not my idea of capturing the moment.

The responsiveness of Matt was on par if what I would expect from a much cheaper non-boutique photographer as well. He rarely returned phone calls and emails until several attempts were made. He was always too busy with other things to respond to us, which was disappointing. After booking with our initial deposit 6-7 months in advance, we didn't hear from him again until literally the evening before our wedding (this is after calling and emailing twice the week prior). It all worked out and yes he showed up, but it was not the reassurance we would expect once again, for this price point.

The design of our wedding album was good, however, Matt did not receive design comments and edits well. We did not have major changes, but the few we asked for we were told would not look good aesthetically and he made us feel like we were basically idiots without an artistic eye. While we value his expertise and defer to him as the designer, he certainly was not professional in his handling of our requests and questions. He came across condescending.

On the positives, Matt and his assistant were pleasant on the day of our wedding and definitely worked hard, no doubt. But in general, the value is not there to justify his prices. We got the feeling that this is not Matt's preferred type of photography and that he would much rather be doing something more artistic and creative than photographing weddings.

Based on our experience, we feel like Matt is just doing this to pay the bills and not his true passion at all.
