We initially had no intentions of getting a videographer, but my mom INSISTED. So, reluctantly I started searching and researching them. I was referred to James by my venue, The Palm Event Center and boy am I glad I was!!! I watched his highlight videos and was in tears afterward!! They are just so beautiful. Mind you, I am not an emotional girl and don't cry easily. In fact I have never cried at a wedding, but watching his films, I did. They were that moving!! I forwarded his website to my mom and she immediately called me and said "BOOK HIM!!!!". James was kind enough to drive up and meet us in Sacramento, which was so great!!

The thing I was the least excited about, I am now so pumped for!!! I cant wait for our video and to work with James. He is such a nice guy and truly loves what he does. It shows in his work for sure!!!

UPDATE-So we had our wedding on June 25, 2010 and James was amazing. He showed up right on time and was ready to go. To my surprise, we uses just a normal looking camera to shoot his video. I was expecting some giant thing, but his equipment was super small and very un-obtrusive. I forgot he was around half the time. He was so sweet the whole day and made sure he coordinated with our DOC and DJ to catch all the events. He brought mikes for my DH, officiant and brother (who gave a speech at the ceremony) so he could capture everything. I CANT wait for the video and am positive it will be amazing!! Thanks James!!

I was not one who wanted a videographer, but my mom insisted so I searched high and low looking for a videographer that would give me a classy and not cheesy video. I found James and was sold!! I have never cried at a wedding, and after watching one of his highlight videos I was in tears over a total strangers wedding!! It was touching and moving and best of all, no cheesy fade in and out stuff!! His eye for editing is unreal. Takes a line from a speech or vows and weaves the whole video around. PERFECTION! His work is awesome!! My husband and I and our family LOVE our wedding video. He captured the spirit of the whole event in a way that I thought was not possible. He edited the whole thing to be 40 minutes which was PERFECT! (I mean who wants to watch a 3 hour wedding video??) He was not intrusive and I didn't even know he was there half the time (in fact, on a few occasions I would say something inappropriate thinking only my friends were around and BAM...there he was. Ninja style!!). If you are on the fence about hiring a videographer, I would def recommend you get one and go with James. You will not be disappointed. He is a super talent!!

We hired James to shoot our wedding last year, and we are so happy that we did! Not only is he a great guy, but we really loved the video footage that he shot. We saw samples of James' work online, and set up a meeting based on those clips, since we really liked his style, the look and feel of the videos, etc. We enjoyed our meeting with him and immediately trusted that he would be able to capture the day of our wedding. If you look at any of his videos online, you'll see how he captures the essence of the day in a very real way. We wanted a video, but not anything that was cheesy or a typical wedding video. A couple of days after the wedding (it was very fast turnaround) - we got the "short form" video, and that was followed up with the longer form version which we also opted for. The video was just extremely well done; James did a great job of including the relevant moments from the day and really capturing the vibe of the ceremony and party, via his production and editing. We find ourselves watching and re-watching the footage, which - at the end of the day - I think is a good a measure as any as to how good a job your videographer has done! Our friends and family have also commented on what an amazing video it is. Can't express how lucky we feel to have found James and to have our wedding day memories forever!We recommend James most highly - his work, is amazing and he's also a great guy to work with.

Burkart Video is the best you can get. It's so worth it because he provided me with a professional quality DVD that will make the memories last a lifetime. The editing and quality of my wedding DVD are so amazing. James is so professional and is capable of capturing all of the wonderful moments of a special day. This video is more then I could ever dream of. I was able to relive the day through it. All of my relatives are so impressed by it. We were recommended to James by another videographer who was unable to be at our wedding. When we met up with James, we loved his work and booked with him on the same day that we met up with him. He even let us keep 5 samples of his previous works to show future brides.His work is very professional and I can't wait to see the finish product of our wedding. James Burkart was one of my favorite vendors. His videography style is simple and like a documentary of the day. He was amazingly unobtrustive and was never in anyone's way with bright lights or microphones. He was extremely professional to work with and we had our finished video only a few months later. I went back and forth on whether to ever hire a videographer and I am now so glad that I did. I highly recommend this vendor.

Last year I started the wonderful (and intense) process of planning our wedding. I called vendor after vendor, had meetings upon meetings, and finally came across Burkart Video. My finance and I meet with James, and grilled him on our many wedding day stipulations; we wanted assistance in the who's, when's, and where's about our video but, only up to the day of. Both our photographer and videographer had to be illusive and completely non-evasive on the day of the wedding, we wanted to enjoy our day as if no one else was around. After assuring us he does just that, we hired him on the spot - today I have realized, this was one of best investments we made. Honestly, not only was he pleasant, kind, and great to work with - he followed our illusive instructions to a T. I barely remember him there and I must admit after our beautiful day was over, I even thought... where was he, was he there the whole time? Yesterday, I found out just how there he was. We received our video and it was perfect, amazing, and literally, dream like. Remember the fantasies of how perfectly everything would go that day, laying in bed smiling at each perfect moment? It was as if I was watching that memory come to life. He captured each moment, and played it back to us better then we ever imagined. James was one of the heroes of our wedding. Our videographer skipped town with our deposit and with only a couple months to go before the wedding we found ourselves looking for a replacement. We found James through other videographers recommendations. After meeting with him and a couple of other candidates, he was clearly superior both in work product and attitude.

James was fantastic from the very start. He was extremely responsive and came to our home to show us some samples of his work.

On the day of the wedding, he showed up early at our house to film me getting ready. He had an associate tagging along with the guys at the wedding venue as well. They had a great demeanor with all of the bridal party and went out of their way to get some really great shots.

We received our video a few months later, and it was really worth the wait. He worked with us to make a few changes and sent us the final product very quickly. Our families really liked the video, and it elicited a few tears from the parents.

James was one of the easiest vendors to work with. He seems truly interested in creating an excellent product, and not just in booking as many weddings as he can. A really nice guy and a consummate professional, I would highly recommend James to anyone I knew who was getting married.

James did a fantastic job at our wedding! He has also done my cousins wedding, and my sister-in-law! Highly reccommended! He loves what he does, you can tell it his passion. Takes his time to edit the video to perfection! I still watch mine every month! ;)

We were married in 2006 and because of our budget, debated on whether we should have a videographer. My cousin, who didn't have a videographer at her wedding, told me she regretted not having one. So, we looked for someone that can do it at a reasonable price.
