I worked with Buttercream and they were very pleasant to work with. I would recommend them to anyone

My husband and I did not have our hearts set on a wedding cake. We wanted some type of dessert, but didn't know exactly what we wanted. When we had our tasting at the reception venue, there was a wedding cake made by Buttercream. It not only looked amazing, but it was delicious! We made an appointment with Greg at Buttercream on a weeknight to try different cakes. Based on our our wants and needs, we decided to do mini dessert parfaits. If you've never seen them, picture a piece of cake in a cup that looks fantastic and tastes even better than it looks! Our guests LOVED them. We put them on a cupcake tree so they look super cute on display...and guests can serve themselves. It's awesome because it allows everyone to mingle as they taste a delicious dessert by Buttercream. I highly recommend Buttercream for any dessert you may need - whether it be weddings, holidays, birthdays or you just want a delicous treat for your family. :=)

Our wedding cake was primarily handled by our Reception location. We did do our tasting and made final arrangements with them. Cake was good and well recieved but I don't know if it had enough bang for it's buck.

We live in Minnesota and were married in NH. Originally we had a NH baker that was going to make our cake, but then circumstances changed and we needed to find another. We wanted to be able to taste our cake before the wedding and so we went to Buttercream, one of the only places willing to meet with us on a Sunday. We met with the owner and sampled amazing cakes. There were only 2 that we didn't like - one was too rich for my palate and the other - well, we just don't like coconut. There were so many options though - which was great.

Once we settled on the flavors we wanted - s'mores and vanilla/strawberry/lemon - we broke the news that we'd need the cake in NH. I don't even think he blinked. He explained how he would recommend packing it and included it in the quote. Our cake fed 125 people and traveled to NH successfully - all for under $600! Everyone raved about the taste and I can't wait for our 1 year to get our cake top!

Many thanks to Buttercream for such amazing service, they were incredibly easy and nice to work with. Very impressed with the variety of flavors at our cake tasting. We decided to have centerpiece cakes at each table and loved that we could offer our guests so many different flavors to choose from...they were all so delicious! These cakes are seriously the best cakes we've ever had. Our guests are still raving about their incredible flavor. Loved that they don't use fondant, loved that they don't freeze their cakes, loved that they don't use artificial coloring...loved everything! HIGHLY recommend scheduling a tasting, you will be amazed.

Compared to other bakeries, I got a very reasonable price for my wedding cake and I thought it looked great. The guests raved about the flavors: Strawberry a la Ritz, which was really light, fluffy and refreshing, and Chocolate Lovers, which is a really rich torte like cake.

We used Buttercream for our wedding in July of 2011. The cake is VERY expensive (we paid $1,400 for 250 guests), but the tasting was so great we thought it would be worth it. On the day of our wedding, I was very disappointed with the look of our cake. It looked terrible. The flowers were not the color we had discussed, and they used some sort of liquid to tack our ribbon onto the cake, that made some of the ribbon transparent. I was embarrassed that it was OUR wedding cake! I didn't even want our guests to see it.
I will give them credit for the taste of the cake. It was definitely the best wedding cake that I've tasted.
The customer service is very poor as well. I asked to have a breakdown of the cost of our cake e-mailed to me and the lady said she wouldn't know the first thing to do, to e-mail it to me! Then she said she would send it to me in the mail, I never received a breakdown! How do you run a business without knowing how to e-mail or even having a spreadsheet ready for clients!?!

By far the best tasting cake! We put together our layered ribbon, but it was not placed properly (it was upside down). The sugar flowers were also not the color I was expecting. I would use them again, but would be much more firm about my selections.

Buttercream was fun and has beautiful and delicious cakes! We throughly enjoyed our cake tasting. I love that we were able to choose different flavors for different layers allowing both my groom and I to choose our favorites. The artist who drew our thoughts for our cake was great. When we first saw our cake at the reception I was blown away, it was perfect! One thing to note that I was unaware of: if you don't buy your cake topper from Buttercream they do not place it on the cake, it is then your caterer's job. Just something to note.

VERY expensive but great quality cake and dessert! Try the pumpkin bars they are simply amazing!

We picked Buttercream because our caterer would have charged us a cake cutting fee if we picked any other cake. Our cake from Buttercream was BEAUTIFUL -- absolutely gorgeous. I liked that they had a lot of different cake styles to choose from at their place in Minnetonka. I didn't love the cake's taste (it was fine), but many of our guests raved about it so I'm guessing the taste is what the vast majority of people like - and after all, it's nice to please the guests! My main complaint was that the pieces cut by our caterer (Bayview) for our guests were extremely small, so we ended up with a ton of leftover cake. We could have purchased much less cake (which would have been nice because it was expensive per slice!). I wish Bayview and Buttercream would have coordinated more because they have this special relationship, and that we could have ordered less cake and saved some money. However, my main focus was the appearance of the cake, and that was awesome!

Quality of service was very poor. The flavor was about the only thing that was good about the cake. The design was nothing like what we had discussed/sketched together. I even had given them a picture of exactly what we wanted and specific color swatches and the design just came out horrible...nothing like what we wanted. The cake was also stacked with a gap inbetween tiers and the main cake was stacked crooked. They need more professional people delivering cakes.

It was also hard to get a hold of them. I called them several times trying to give them final payment and nobody would answer the phone. Also, their turn around for responding to e-mails was usually more than 3 days.

Our cakes, serving 130 people, cost over $500...and the design was horrible, so there was not much value for cost. If you use Buttercream make sure you pick a design that a monkey could do and one that you see multiple times in their picture books so you know that they can do them. Also, when you actually look through the picture books they provide you to pick a design from, their pictures look nothing like the pictures on their website.

Buttercream is good for one thing...flavorfull cakes. Hopes this helps some brides out there.

I only got a bite of cake during our cake cutting, but from the tastings we had with Buttercream I know it was great. Our guests loved the cake. The only complaint I could find was the limited decorative options included in the base price. We ended up purchasing ribbon which they put on for us, and flower petals to make the cake more interesting. Our guests however loved how simple and elegant it looked. We probably would have ordered our groom's cake through them as well if we had more decorative options.

unbelievable cake so many guests said they have never had such a great tasting cake, we met with david the owner and he designed a beautiful cake hightlighting our wedding theme. i only wish i could give buttercream 10 stars

The cake was amazing! They were very flexible with the design as well. I indicated my vision and the cake turned out amazing! My only issue is that they are hard to get a hold of. Other than that - great cake!

I don't normally like cake but Buttercream Cakes are awesome. we tried numerous places and every place that we tried we left feeling very sick, not Buttercream. I have also been to many weddings were they ended up with tons of left over cake. they made our cake the exact way that we wanted it to look and we only had maybe 5 to 6 pcs of cake left after the wedding. We are also please with the fact that next year on our anniversary they will make us a fresh duplicate of our cake top. I would tell everyone I know looking for a wedding cake to go with Buttercream.

I used Buttercream for my wedding cupcakes. They tasted amazing and I received many compliments on them. Buttercream let me bring my own cupcake flags, which they then put on themselves and delivered to my venue. The variety of cakes they had was great. They worked directly with my venue so I had little to worry about. The cost was great and I was very happy with their services.

Love, love, loved our cakes. We did a cake at each table so that people could get a good-sized piece rather than the sliver you get at most weddings. We were able to have 4 different flavors of cake, each with a different design. Besides being beautiful, the cakes were phenomenally delicious. I think the cakes were probably the hit of the entire wedding -- our guests raved about them.

We got our cake from Buttercream, and it was perfect.

When we went cake tasting, we had 3 places in one weekend, and Buttercream was by far the best tasting cake of the 3, and quite possibly the best tasting cake I've ever eaten. Our guests are still talking about it 2 weeks later, and my husband (who doesn't actually like most cake) is looking forward to our complimentary 1-year anniversary cake.

We sat down with a consultant who went over their services, then fed us 8 different types of cake, all incredible. He asked about us and our wedding plans, and came up with a design we loved as we tried the cake. He drew out the design, gave us price quotes, explained how everything worked, and was very calming.

We got to choose 2 different flavors for the cake. They arranged delivery with the reception site, and called 2 weeks ahead of time to confirm everything with us and make sure everything was ready.


The price is a little high, but pretty comparable to other bakeries of this calibre.
However, considering how perfect the cake was, and how great it tasted, it was worth the cost.

Our venue paid for our wedding cake from Buttercream if we signed the contract by a certain date. After our tasting, we were satisfied and excited about our cake.

However, as the our wedding date came closer, we experienced a lot of trouble with Buttercream returning our calls. They would call us, leave a message, we would return the call and were told that whoever we needed to talk to wasn't in that day and that they would call us back at this time on this day. At least twice, that day and time came and went without a phone call.

I was living in Oregon while planning my wedding. When I came to Minnesota about a week before my wedding, I received a phone call rudely asking me where my cake topper and the ribbon for the cake was. I felt definite attitude from the employee over the phone. No one had told me that Buttercream needed these a week before the wedding. I had the cake topper sent to my mom in my hometown, about 5 hours from St. Paul and she had to rush mail it to them. NOT COOL. When I brought the ribbon in a day or so later, I was in the reception area for at least 10 minutes before anyone even said Hi to me, despite even though I think they have some kind of bell on their door that rings when you come in and despite employees walking by multiple times. Finally someone came out and eventually told me that I actually didn't need to have my cake topper rush sent to them because they could just put it on the day-of. When I told them about the person who had been rude to me on the phone and about my frustration with their lack of communication, they apologized, but it didn't seem sincere.

On our wedding day, our cake was delivered on time, with the correct decorations and it was good. But, if I were to get married again and my venue hadn't paid for the cake, I wouldn't be going with Buttercream. Their employees were rude, made my mom rush ship something to them that didn't actually need to be, and not good at returning phone calls. Those problems significantly outweighed the positives.

Glad I use this company. Cake was wonderful. Easy to work with.

We absolutely loved our wedding cake! Chocolate mint chiffon and red velvet were our flavor choices and we could not have been happier. I would highly recommend Buttercream to any bride and groom looking for a beautiful cake that tastes amazing!

Second wedding in our family to use Buttercream. It is THE BEST....all the guests rave.

The staff was sometimes rude and unprofessional and it was quite costly, however, going with Buttercream saved us a cake-cutting fee. Despite these downsides, the cake was DELICIOUS. We had Almond Praline and Bailey's chocolate. It was the best tasting cake I've ever had!

We used Buttercream dessert bars for my daughter's 7-16-10 wedding instead of the traditional wedding cake. We had made the appointment for a taste test and were a little perplexed when cake samples were brought out instead of bars. When we told the saleswoman we were here to taste bars, she said she didn't see any samples in the back. Another gentleman overhearing our conversation said he knew where they were. All the bars we tried were fantastic! It was very hard to choose from the nine samples we got to taste. My daughter selected the: Carmelita, Lemon, Brownie with Cream Cheese Frosting and the Creme de Menthe Brownie. Since they were extremely rich bars, we requested they be cut into 56 pieces and put on trays. We paid a little extra, but it saved time and money. (If the bars wouldn't have been cut, most of it would have been wasted, as they are so rich. Since they were smaller, it also gave our guests a chance to try more than one.) Delivery was free as Buttercream is the prefered vendor for our reception site. Considering the cost of a wedding cake, these bars were a great value!! Being they were cut in half, they served many so many people at a fraction of the cost. The guests raved about the bars too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The best cake I have ever tasted and all my guests loved it.

They did a wonderful job on our cake and it was very delicious! They were on time, and everything turned out great. The tasting is in just little little hole in the wall and was alright, we decided to stick with them because our reception hall has a contract with them, so if we ordered from somewhere else we had to pay the cake cutting fee. But the cake at the wedding was delicious I think the tasting cakes may have been sitting out for a while. Great cake!

Buttercream is affiliated with our reception site's catering company, so it was cost effective to use them, however, I had planned on using them all along. We met with a consultant last fall to taste flavors and design the cake.

The cake that arrived on our wedding day was exactly what I imagined and the flavors (Chocolate Lovers and Almond Praline) were just what I wanted.

I can't wait to get my anniversary cake from them next year!

Buttercream is DELICOUS!!!! They were great to work with and helpful in designing a simple yet elegant cake. Strawberry mousse filling was amazing.

We loved our cupcake tower from Buttercream in Minnetonka :) The cupcakes were a hit!!! We were so busy we only tasted the cupcake we cut, but the guests ate them all up, so they must have loved them. We ordered before we knew our final count and had almost 2 for each person... good thing, we had only about 10 left over at the end of the night! They were great to work with as well! Price was a good average cost for cake. We just had our one year anniversary and truly enjoyed the free anniversary cake!

I usually am not a fan of cake. But not only was our Chocolate Lovers and Raspberry Royale cake delicious, it was also beautiful. We were so happy with our experience working with Buttercream Collection that we're practically looking for another reason to order a cake. The staff were easy to work with, and they were able to get us the cake we wanted even on short notice. The cake tasting is one of my best memories from wedding planning. Be sure to go with an empty stomach! The location is obscure and our initial impression of the bakery was questionable, but we were glad we decided to give it a chance. The most difficult part of ordering our cake was deciding which of their delicious flavors to choose. Good thing we got to pick two. The cake was a little pricey, but even in hindsight, we are happy that we choose to spend the money.

Everyone I spoke to told me that the best wedding cake they'd ever eaten came from Buttercream. We shopped around, but it's just the true: Buttercream makes the best cake in Minnesota. There's just no contest. As a result, the customer service was a bit less enthusiastic than the other vendors we met with (who were trying to sell us something--Buttercream just knows their cake speaks for itself). That said, they were still very professional, promptly responded whenever we contacted them, and absolutely reliable.

The cake was hands down spectacular. We got the delicious white chocolate raspberry (with fresh berries!) cake and the incredibly moist chocolate lovers cake. I can't wait until we hit 1 year of being married so we can go back and get our anniversary cake layer. Also, they smoothed out the buttercream so completely that my aunt wouldn't believe that it wasn't fondant. It was a gorgeous cake.

It's a little expensive, but I have absolutely no regrets. This was memorably delicious cake.

Our cake collapsed shortly after our reception started. Buttercream denied it as being their fault. The sent replacement sheet cake otherwise an exact replacement would have been several hours. The cake was very expensive and although it tasted great I was very disappointed with their service. We did eventually get a partial refund which our reception vendor negotiated for us. Definately would not recommend using them.

Buttercream is the best cake I have ever had!! I am so glad we used them for our wedding, we got so many compliments on how delicious the cake was. We ordered the almond praline and the chocolate raspberry. I even liked the cake so much that I surprised my husband and ordered a 6 inch round cake for his birthday!

What We Wanted: A cake that looked cute and wasn't very expensive. Neither Steve nor I really like cake, so we just needed something to cut for pictures.

What We Got: A cake that looked very cute and tasted good! It wasn't cheap, but Buttercream is the exclusive vendor for the Varsity - so we didn't have a choice.

Our cake earned rave reviews from our guests. The only bite of cake I had was the one that Steve fed me, but it was pretty good (for cake) . I love how it looked - swiss dots with a little bit of silver glitter. Perfect.

Buttercream isn't the easiest vendor to meet with, especially when you have weird schedules like me and Steve. And even though we had an appointment, they didn't have a table available for us - so we ended up having our tasting in the kitchen. But it looked perfect and apparently tasted amazing, so two thumbs up!

We worked mainly with Greg at the St. Paul buttercream location and he pretty much sold us on the cakes. He was GREAT to work with, funny and reassuring. Everytime we went in to talk about the cakes, he gave us a platter of samples right there or to take home. We went with centerpiece cakes and gave them pictures of the designs- which came out AMAZINGLY. I would definitely recommend centerpiece cakes, not just to save on money for flowers, but as a wow-factor. They were a bit on the expensive side, but the cakes were amazing- and my mom who hates frosting, was trying to take all the leftovers home. We will be purchasing cakes from Buttercream for all our major events from now on- highly recommended!!!

Buttercream was extremely easy to work with and definitely exceeded expectations. We tasted the Strawberry a la Ritz and it was delicious at the tasting but at the reception it was absolutely incredible. It was the best cake we have ever had and we received raving comments all night about how amazing it was. The cake design overall was great but not exactly what we had imagined. They were very fast at responding to questions and everything was delivered as promised. Overall it was an amazing cake and a very smooth experience that we would highly recommend!

The cake was beautiful and very good. My husband and I, as well as our guests loved the cake. The only down is that the price is a little too high for a cake.

The cake was delicious! We had Baileys Chocolate and White with Amaretto. We had the outside of the cake frosted in chocolate, but they charged an extra $80 dollars for that. The cake was amazing! The cost was quite high and they nickel and dime you for the cake stand and other items.

Buttercream was amazing. When you go in for your tasting they give you about 5 or 6 flavors to taste (they have at least 30 different flavors). My fiance and I went through the flavor sheet and had wanted to try a couple of more. We called and Buttercream let us pick an extra six to try/taste on the day of our tasting. All of the flavors are the same cost per slice, which was nice, because it didn't force you to just go with vanilla or chocolate to save money, you could pick raspberry royale (delicious, don't forget to try this one), turtle, strawberry trifle, etc...

I had my heart set on a four tier cake (even though a three tier would be more than enough), when I requested a four tier the person doing our tasting very politely told me that three would be enough (trying to make sure we didn't order more than we needed so we could save money), but didn't scoff and said nothing else about it when I said I liked the look of the four tiers better.

About a week before our wedding we called to change around the layers/which type we had at each layer and they had no problems with that.

Everyone loved our cake (no stiff/sugary frosting for buttercream)! The finished look of the product was exactly what we had described and the taste of it on the day of was amazing!

Would definitly recomment Buttercream to all brides still looking for a bakery.

We had amazing cakes with Buttercream--so amazing that all 130 people managed to eat every single bite of all 12 cakes! Better than wedding cakes, Buttercream makes cakes that taste just like a cake--not like the dry sheet variety I've been served at weddings lately. All the staff were great to work with and quick to respond. I appreciated that they called to touch base and remind me of due dates--easy to forget when you're planning a wedding.

This place was awesome. The initial cake tasting was a bit awkward, because the guy working there seemed to assume that we were just there to taste the cake and weren't actually going to work with them. But, they know what they're doing! They don't use any fondant, which I think is a definite perk. And even though they don't, the cake still looked like it had fondant covering. I had people looking at my photos ask if it was, but they're talented people over at Buttercream! I also really like the fact that they sell a one-year cake topper for your anniversary (only $17), so you don't have to do fruitcake and don't have to worry about freezing it. They keep your records so all you have to do is call them up and they can give you a cake just the same as you had on your wedding day!

It's been almost three months since our wedding and our guests continue to comment on our wedding cake! It was a beautiful cake. Their Connecticut carrot cake has to be one of the best cakes I have tasted. The Bailey's chocolate was also very yummy! We had a great experience with the staff. Very helpful and polite. My florist also commented on their great communication. A cake from Buttercream is worth every extra penny.

The cake tasted wonderful!

I was a little disappointed with the look of my wedding cake from Buttercream. Some of the details on the cake looked like they got smushed during the transport from the shop to the reception. Also, the cake didn't taste as good as it did during the tasting session.

We actually ordered dessert shooters for our wedding. They were adorable little cake/buttercream treats in a shot glass. They were delicious and looked great. That is where our praise stops, however. When we made our first tasting appointment, we informed the staff member that we wanted to specifically taste the shooters. When we arrived, all they had for us to taste was cake. When we asked about the shooters, she was able to scrounge up two samples and both of them were flavors that we were not considering. We left very disappointed. We eventually called back and asked for a second tasting of only the shooters. Again when went back, they brought out cake. When we asked about the shooters, they were able to find some more for us to taste. Another thing we noticed was that the staff was really unprofessional and acted like they were in junior high. I expect that when I come in to someplace and they want my business, they will not be yelling back and forth to each other from their offices and running around being goofy.

The cake was stunning and everything we hoped for! They were very flexible to work with our ideas. We went with the chocolate cappuccino and lemon raspberry flavors - delicious! It was nice to not have to worry about the cake, since they are well-established and delivered it to our reception site. We would definitely recommend Buttercream to other couples looking for a bakery.

The best cake ever! Great service and helpful staff!! I wasn't really into the cake idea but wanted a dessert. Buttercream staff talked to me about my personality and the overall theme of the wedding. The staff member drew up an idea that was perfect! I was very happy with them! I only knocked the "value for cost" down a little because it was more expensive then other quotes I received, but not way more.

I purchased a cake but I tried their dessert shooters and candy as well. Everything was amazing!!!

Buttercream was A+ = we contracted with them via Bellagala and I must admit at first it seemed rather expensive... but it was worth it! I have never, ever heard about a wedding cake over one month after the wedding!

Working with them was very easy, confirming details before I needed to call them... everything was first rate!

I loved the end result, but booking an appointment, discussing ideas by email, and overall creativity... all of these things were more difficult to pull out of the hat than I would have liked. It was a good experience, but I feel they could benefit from an expanded mindframe.

We had a great experience with Buttercream. We had a tasting 8 months before the wedding, and it was great. I called a month before the wedding just to confirm they still had the order, then they called two weeks before to confirm the number of people they needed to serve. The cake turned out absolutely gorgeous, and tasted better than I recalled from the tasting. One thing I also enjoyed was that instead of keeping the top tier of the cake to freeze (which honestly never turns out well, or tastes well a year later), they gave us a coupon to get a small cake to order on our anniversary.

Our cake turned out beautiful and tasted fantastic! We had virtually no problems with them, it turned out just the way I pictured and they let me make changes up until the week of the wedding. They are very easy to work with and the quality of the cake is great!

Off the chart - this cake was to die for. I don't think many guests expect much of a wedding cake other than it looking good, but we should have had a cake twice as big, b/c people were snarfing it up. It was elegant - way beyond my expectations. Altho it was a simple design and execution, it was done perfectly. They're very easy to work with and really have the process down to an art/science. There was not one hitch in the scheduling. We were slightly worried about the sheer number of cakes they produce - how would ours be 'special' among so many others, but they knocked it out of the park. So many people have told is it was the best cake (not just wedding cake) they'd ever tasted! Great value for a premium product. Yum!

i tried 5 bakeries for my wedding cake,i wanted a cake that did not use lard or shortening and baked fresh. my husband who says he dislikes cake ate 3 pieces at our reception. the cake was dark chocolate ganache iced and with our flowers was absolutely stunning. i cant wait to order from them again

We did a cupcake display with a small bride and groom's cake on top. It was beautiful and we were able to chose 3 different kinds of cupcakes which our guests loved. We were given so many samples in order to make our decision and they are all to die for! By far, my favorite part of the wedding planning process.

We got tons of compliments on the cake. It was delicious and beautiful. The cakes are pricey but are well worth the money. You won't be disappointed!

This cake was amazing!!!!! It tastes so incredible & although we had a very simple looking cake, it was beautiful. They do very nice work. I will say I thought it was a little on the spendy side, but well worth it. I couldn't believe how many guests commented on how good it was. So many people were going back for seconds & thirds...we loved it!!

Our wedding cake was excellent and the design was exactly what I had envisioned. The woman at Minnetonka that I met with through the planning stages was very helpful. The cost is a bit higher than other bakeries I had inquired with however the quality of service and end product we received made that not an issue. We were both happy in addition to many of our family and friends were pleased as well. Many of our guests commented on how fresh and amazing the cake tasted.

Their staff was very friendly, and the cake was exactly what we wanted! It was absolutely delicious... and we got great comments from our guest on how nicely presented it was, and how great it tasted!

Our cake was gorgeous and delicious! We got a lot of compliments from our guests on it! We also had a good experience with everyone in the office, we'd definitely use Buttercream again!

Buttercream was the only bakery that my husband and I went cake tasting at, but we liked what we tasted so much that we didn�t feel we had to go anywhere else. I did compare some prices before setting up the appointment and they seemed normal or a little under as far as cost per slice. The only thing that seemed a bit weird is that when we walked in, they had �pre-designed� wedding cakes that you pick from for yours. I am not sure if they can make a custom design as I wasn�t too worried about it and I did really like one of the ones that they had. They handled the delivery and setup of the cake at our reception venue. When we arrived at our reception, the cake was already set up in place and looking gorgeous. We had SO many compliments on our cake that night and even the few days after the wedding. I didn�t hear of anyone not eating it. Buttercream believes in making everything fresh. Nothing is ever frozen and our cake was literally made the day before the wedding and kept in a refrigerator. Since they believe in freshness, they don�t want you to save the top tier. Instead, for your one year anniversary, you get a voucher to come in and they give you a free 8� round cake to use to celebrate your anniversary. I loved the taste so much, I am trying to think of other excuses to order a cake from them. One of my husband�s cousins called us after the wedding (she just finished culinary school, is a caterer and has done some wedding cakes) and she asked who we ordered our cake from and what kind of frosting they used. She lives about 6-8 hours away but was still curious because she loved it too!

The cake was fantastic!! Gorgeous and delicious!! Everyone loved it. The only negative thing was that when I went to pick it up, they had it boxed for delivery (and it wasn't supposed to be) and I had to wait about a half hour for them to find it and then re-box it for me to take. That wasn't fun. BUT if I had it to do over again... I would use Buttercream again for sure!!

What can I say about Buttercream - they are the best of the best when it comes to wedding cakes. Our wedding guests were raving about our cake all night long and many helped themselves to a second piece of cake!

Ther were times when the staff at Buttercream seemed a bit confused, so be sure to double and triple check that your cake information is correct.

Cake delivery, set up, and communication between our caterer and Buttercream went smoothly. It's nice to work with such an established wedding cake company and you won't be disappointed with their delicious cakes and innovative cake designs.

Our cake turned out absolutely beautiful. The Buttercream Cake bakery in St. Paul have a wonderful team that work well together and they produced a gorgeous and absolutely delicious cake! Our guests raved it was the best cake they had ever had. I agree it was so good I had 2 slices that night. I think everyone else did as we had none left!
It was gorgeous and the stand they had complimented all the other decorations so well. The cost was a little high but for a cake that good - it worked out well.
Our reception vendor has a deal with them so he handled all the details we just decided on the flavor and how it should look.
I would recommend them to anyone.

I cannot say enough good things about the delicious cakes Buttercream makes! WOW! To give you an indication of how good they are: My dad very strongly dislikes frosting. He normally scrapes most, if not all, of the frosting off of his slice of cake. I am not as bad as that, but I am picky about my frosting. I had tried them at a wedding fair, and they were great. I KNEW even my dad would like the frosting. At our tasting, HE is the one that kept going for the sample dab of frosting! Buttercream is more expensive than some cake vendors, but after trying them at the wedding fair, I knew I HAD to have one.

I went to the tasting with a couple pictures, but when I got there, I quickly found something I liked even better. Our wedding cake looked amazing, and tasted even better!

Buttercream was the perfect Wedding cake vendor. We could not have been happier with their consultations, follow up procedures and the final product. All of our guests enjoyed the cakes. We had a dessert reception that included only Buttercream cakes of all different flavors. All of our guests raved about the cake. We would use Buttercream again for any occasion!

WOnderful cake great tasting however when i ordered my cake i was promised a free anniversary cake and now am being told no thats not true but u can buy one for 16.99$

Our cake was delicious and beautiful. The person we met with was not as helpful as I would have liked in helping me finalize my cake. I explained what I did and didn't like hoping that they would show me examples of what they could do but I didn't get that. I got the feeling that they wanted me to just tell them exactly what I wanted and they would try to do it, but since I have no cake-making skills, I don't know what is or isn't do-able. The cake turned out very nice, and tasted great, the ordering process was just a little unprofessional.

the cake was amazing and was done just the way i wanted it, however it would have been nice if they would use color buttercream on the outside of the cake for decorating.

The cake was beautiful and tasted really good. They had so many options for flavors and the staff was very helpful in picking the flavors and style of the cake. Everything was delivered on time and look exactly as it was supposed. No complaints about Buttercream.

I thought working with Buttercream was very pleasant. They were helpful and patient with us during our "selection" process. It was extremely difficult to narrow down the choice of cake when all the flavors were delicious. I did like the fact that the cake was all natural with no artificial coloring. It is positively amazing what they can do with decorating without all that color. Anyway, our guest loved the cake and we had 3 pieces to bring home! I did think they were quite expensive, but on the otherhand the cake was moist, fresh and delicious.

I was very disappointed with this vendor. They gave us they wrong flavor cake in one of the tiers, my husband was furious. Not only that, we ordered a 4-tier cake and got a 3-tier cake with an additional sheet cake. The amount of money we paid for our custom design was not worth it. It taste good, but it wasn't the cake we expected. :(

The cake tasted amazing. we had some trouble working with the kitchen manager. The cake designers told us that we cold use pheasant feathers as decor on the cake...then the kitchen mamger told us that wasn't allowed. We ended up buying special feathers from a craft store to make the kitchen manager happy.

We purchased our wedding cake from Buttercream and their cake is delicious even if it was overpriced. Our experience at first was very positive. However, part of their "pitch" to sell the cake was that they would provide us a free cake on our anniversary, so we wouldn't have to freeze our top tier and eat old cake. That sounded good to us. However, 2 weeks after our anniversary had passed we thought we would have seen a postcard or gotten a phone call. My husband called them and asked about our anniversary cake, they gladly took down the flavors and started to order it, then told us we would have to pay $22. After some arguing, they reluctantly agreed to give us our cake for free, even though that was part of the pitch to get us to use their services in the first place. We got our cake, but I'm not going back their again. Their customer service is horrible.

They are very lucky that their cake is so incredibly delicious. If it was not, their horrendous customer service would have shuttered the doors long ago. We worked (if you can call it that...) with the team at the St Paul branch. We were made to feel about 2 inches tall by the bored, condescending, jerk of a sales consultant. Later, our order was lost. Had I not called to confirm the order a week before, we may not have had a cake on our wedding day. To their credit, the cake was delivered on time and looked beautiful. Everyone raved that it was the best cake that they had ever eaten. One of our guests bragged about eating 4 slices.

So, if you are willing to be treated poorly to get a good cake for your event, then use Buttercream. It was delicious. If you are looking for a warm, respectful, touchy feely cake vendor, then look elsewhere.

Everyone told me that I had the best tasting wedding cake they had ever had! My cake was so moist and the frosting was perfect - not too grainy and not too sweet. The only downside is that the person I initially worked with was quite rude. So I requested to work with someone else for the design process and I had a much better experience.

All of my friend's recommended Buttercream which is why we chose to look there first. After sampling some of their selections and viewing some of the different cake decorations, we ordered our cake on the spot. The cake was exactly as we ordered it and all of our guests loved it. One of my favorite things about Buttercream is that you can have the clean fondant look, but the great buttercream taste.

The cake was by far the best cake I have ever had!!! The only down side is that you don't really get to customize anything but there is plenty of choices that was still very happy. With their many locations I recomend doing EVERYTHING from the St. Paul location if possible as I had some issues with the fact that my cake topper and decor was in Minnetonka and had to call the St. Paul office a few times to let them know they really did have things they didn't think they did. Overall I was very happy but just work thru St. Paul location if possible.

The folks at Buttercream were very friendly and easy to work with. We were amazed at what we were able to get for the money, without sacrificing quality. We had many people comment on how wonderful the cake was, and we aggreed! I would definitely recommend Buttercream bakery to others.

They were so great to work with. I changed my mind several times over the months leading up to the wedding and they were honest and helpful. Everything was perfect on the wedding day and everyone loved the cakes.

Our cake tasted really wonderful. I would highly recommend them based on taste. It is a little more expensive than I thought it should have been, but everyone commented on how good it was. Also, they have options for you to choose from and that's it. I wanted some sugar flowers on my cake and they had a couple of options for flowers, but would not make them to match a picture that I had. It was a very beautiful cake nonetheless.

Buttercream has amazing cakes!

If they were not so darn good, I would not have gone with their services. Their customer service is HORRIBLE! Any question is too much for them. Half of the people have no clue what they are doing and make you feel as though you are taking up too much of their time. We were quoted one thing and the next week, it was a totally different quote. For example, one of the problems we encountered was that we were told that they had gluten free cakes, then went to order one, and they told us that they didn't do gluten free. They need new employess, ones that actually care about customer service. I mean they are definately not the cheapest place out there, so don't treat your customers as though you have no pride in your business.
