Cakes by Dea

We did a tasting with DEA and my mother-in-law couldn't even focus on the conversation because she was so focused on how delicious the cakes were! She had such a great variety (we had a pumpkin sheet cake with cream cheese frosting) and it was extremely inexpensive! She did a three tier wedding cake, two sheet cakes and a groom's cake and it was less expensive than a one tier cake was at some other places! Not only was the price great, but the cakes looked beautiful and they were delicious! I would highly recommend Cakes by DEA!

We met with Dea to go over our cake design. Considering we had a general idea, but not a specific idea of what we wanted she was patient and flexible. She helped us take our ideas and customize it to what we wanted! Dea called me a few weeks before the wedding and was worried she couldn't match the ribbon color to the bridesmaids sample we gave her. I told her it wasn't a big deal and said we could change it to an ivory ribbon instead. Our cake was GORGEOUS when we saw it! I was in awe! Honestly, I could not have dreamed of a more beautiful cake. We chose two different cakes, carrot with cream cheese frosting and half and half chocolate and white cake with chocolate mousse and fresh strawberries in the middle. It was delicious! I always dreamed of a chocolate covered wedding cake and she accomplished it way better than I imagined it! Her cakes are well worth the price and delicious!

I don't care where you live, you need to hire Cakes by Dea for your wedding cake (or any other cake for that matter!). We sampled over 4 wedding flavors and 8 fillings and it was hard to chose combinations because she is fantastic at what she does! Everything is moist and flavorful! My wedding guests just devoured their cake and we received so many compliments on it!!!

Cakes by Dea is great! Dea does a great job with her cakes and they taste delicious! She was very flexiable with meeting my needs and had some great suggestions when it came to the cake flavors and her ideas were great! She even at the last minute of our meeting let me change my cake flavors! The cake itself was exactly that I had given her and I couldn't have asked for anything more! Thank you Dea!

We got four different flavors of cupcakes for a very large reception! Everyone loved the cupcakes!!! Cakes by Dea was wonderful to work with and her product was delicious!

WOW!! We didn't bring a picture of what we wanted, during our appointment, we just kind of threw out ideas and Dea is so talented and has so much vision that she made our ideas come to life, in our Beautiful, Delicious wedding cake!! Her prices are very reasonable and letting us try samples really helped us decide. The down side of her Delicious cakes is that we didnt have alot of leftovers :(

I can't say enough about Cakes by Dea. She is amazing. She exceeded our expectations and made our day more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. I still think about the moment that I walked into our reception room and saw the cake for the first time…I almost feel over…it was beautiful! Dea made that part of the wedding planning process easy and the result was beyond our wildest dreams. Thank you sooo much for everything!

Our wedding cake was included through our reception vendor (Boulder Ridge) - but I could not have been happier with Dea's cakes. They are beautiful and best of all they taste amazing. She was fantastic in letting us sample everything from frostings to fillings to the cake itself. We chose to do red velvet with french vanilla frosting and french vanilla frosting with fresh strawberries in the middle - it was GREAT. Best of all the appearance of our cake was PERFECT to what I wanted it to be - Dea does amazing work without using that fondant stuff that tastes like cardboard! She was even nice enough to order our cake topper for us and to order a little german shepherd figurine (which she painted black to match our black german shepherd flower dog) to go along with the cake topper. Couldn't be happier with Dea!

This cake was INCREDIBLE! Many vendors would not do a wedding cake with whipped frosting. She did it and did it well. It tasted and looked wonderful.

It was an out of town wedding. If I'm every in the area again and need a cake, she will be the first person I go to. My only disappointment was that I didn't get to eat more!

Our cake was BEAUTIFUL and tasted great! During our cake tasting (my husbands FAVORITE part of getting married, I swear!) we tried 3 different cakes and probably over 10 fillings with 3 different frosting choices. The butter cream frosting was awesome and we finally picked the white cake with strawberry and cheesecake filling for one layer and chocolate and raspberry for the other. It was so yummy! Dea did a great job customizing our cake and it was so pretty :)

Dea was very easy to work with and agreed to make a very unique wedding cake for us, at a very reasonable price. I was impressed with all of her tasty filling options and pictures of previous work. Our wedding cake turned out to be delicious and was a topic of conversation.

We booked Cakes by Dea in February for our June wedding. We called to have a consultation and met with her the next day! We did not do a cake tasting because we were on a tight schedule, but our cake was the best tasting cake I think I've ever had! Her consultation was very lax. She pulls out a binder of cakes and you narrow down the ideas, and then designs the cake with you as you talk. What I liked about her is that you can pretty much do whatever you want and her price is based on the size of the cake, rather than the number of people or the design of the cake. So if you want different flavors for each tier - you can and it's no extra cost! If you want different shaped tiers, no extra cost, different designs on each tier, no extra cost. (I don't know about sugar flowers being extra, though.) She had many flavors and fillings to choose from, and her show room of cakes was phenomenal! She is a very talented woman who works from her home - but has all the legal paperwork for her business (we asked!). About a week before the wedding, I changed my cake topper from flowers to a topper and this was no problem. She was very friendly, talented, easy to work with, and her prices were unbeatable! I'd definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a great cake decorator for any occasion!

Our daughter got married in May 2010 and Cakes by Dea came highly recommended by Boulder Ridge Country Club where the reception was held. The cake was absolutely phenomenal ! Dea was a joy to work with and she did an outstanding job in the design and the taste was incredible. We had so many raves from our guests ! Fast forward a year later, I just ordered another Cake by Dea...... for our daughter's baby shower..... er.. Babies...... we're getting Twins ! Yvonne Pulaski

Dea was great to work with for designing our custom cake. Be sure to book a tasting in advance so that she can have all the flavors available to you, they are delicious. I really liked that our tiers of the cake could be different flavors. Her buttercream work looks really nice and professional. The cake was delicious and delivered well before we even arrived to the site.

I LOVED WORKING WITH DEA FROM CAKES BY DEA. Her relaxed feel and willingness to help you find the perfect cake and taste multiple types of cake was refreshing. She made the exact cake we wanted, it was the best part of the wedding (besides getting married). She made a whipped cream frosting that did not melt and loked like fondant. Excellent cost effective service.

This cake was absolutely delicious and looked great! The taste of the chocolate mousse sold the cake!

Not a mainstream or online business but she was the easiest to book with - we were able to get an appointment/tasting the day we called. Also, much cheaper than some more well known bakeries.

We did have to pay a little extra to have a chocolate top put on the cake. If you have a rural SE Wisconsin or NW Illinois wedding, I highly recommend her.

Cakes by Dea was available last minute for us. We had sheet cakes, but wanted a faux cake for our cake table. However, we couldn't find someone to do it for a reasonable price. We booked dea only a month or so before our wedding. She did a great job! She asked us for examples of what we would like her to do and she replicated it almost exactly! I would recommend her to anyone.
