We can honestly say, this was the best wedding cake we ever had! Carolyn did a beautiful job creating our wedding cake. She was very professional and produced a beautiful, high quality cake

Carolyn delivered our cake 3 hours late. She was supposed to deliver the cake at 4pm, but did not arrive until after the cocktail hour at 7pm!!! My florist and caterer all called her to figure where she was, but she did not answer. She never called to advise she was running late has not called or written to apologize. The cake itself was fine, not spectacular. I would definitely avoid and definitely would NOT recommend her.

Carolyn makes delicious cakes from scratch, and they are gorgeous as well! After tasting samples from a few other bakers, there was no debate on who we were going to use. Carolyn also asked me to send her pictures of my wedding colors so the flowers on the cake went perfectly with the other décor. After this we’ll be looking for an excuse to order another cake from her!

Husband loved the lemon poppy seed. I loved the one that I choose when we had the tasting but not so much at the wedding. The cake was nice and we did not spend a fortune, but I was not as pretty as I would have liked. The scroll work was really wiggly and the dots on she side was really small. Everything had do be done by cash or check which I really frowned up upon since we have a rewards credit card we were using to get cash back. If I had to do it over again I probably would have just had the caterer do the cake.

The cake was beautiful and delicious - lots of my guests commented on how moist it was and how much they liked it!

Please please please all Brides!!! save yourself from a potential upsetting and stressful situation at your wedding reception!! For my wedding we went with Taylor made cakes even though the woman in charge of our reception site warned us to change and not go with her we did. 1) Well for starters she was late to the reception with my wedding cake, she didn't get there until most of my guests had already arrived. 2) the decoration on the cake was not what i had picked out and i had picked a very simple design. 3) we chose a smaller 3-4 tier wedding cake and chose to do a grooms cake as a way to still feed everyone but save a little money because her cakes are expensive....she forgot to make my grooms cake!! and i had just emailed her 1 1/2 weeks before to send her a picture to put on the cake. After my wedding my mother called her to ask her about all these issues, she did not sound remorseful or sorry, and told my mother that the reason my cake suffered and i didn't get my grooms cake was because she had a bigger more elaborate cake to do that same day that she was focusing on!! HOW INSENSITIVE!! MY WEDDING WASNT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO HER!! don't let this happen to you!! you've been warned!!!

Carolyn was a pleasure to work with and her signature flavors are absolutely delicious! Not only did she create an absolutely gorgeous custom cake with alternating flavor tiers (hazelnut truffle and white velvet butter - both amazing!), but she also baked several groom's cakes for our rehearsal dinner and delivered both without charge. We met with her once for a tasting, checked in a bit closer to the wedding date to confirm our guest number and order, and I emailed her a photo of a cake style I liked. She imitated it PERFECTLY and the cake looked and tasted like it had just popped out of my grandmother's oven. The buttercream icing and cake were to die for! So delicious. I would definitely recommend using Carolyn! She is a hidden gem.

Carolyn is very nice and very responsive and does a great job. She delivered our cake about 2 hours late though and when we tried to call her, no one could get a hold of her. The cake was good when it got there, but it wasn't finished. I guess she forgot to write down everything we talked about on our contract and the cake didn't look like what I was wanting. It was still pretty, just not what I thought my wedding cake would be like.

Our wedding cake was delicious and gorgeous. Many of our guests wanted to know who made it because it was so very tasty! We didn't have an exact description of what we wanted, but Carolyn let us look at pictures of cakes she had made and we told her what we liked from several of the pictures - it turned out absolutely gorgeous!

Carolyn created a beautiful cake buffet for our September wedding. I can't even begin to describe just how delicious the cakes were! She was so, so easy to work with and so helpful with picking out designs with us. We had 5 different cakes and flavors (some single tier and others multi tier.) Each cake was different and so, so pretty. We LOVED working with her and you can't beat her prices (not to mention her lovely personality!)

The cake was magnificent. It was four tears with red roses delicately placed in between the layers. The cakes flavor, texture, and consistency was delightful. The cake was truly remarkable and one of my favorite memories of our wedding. I would highly recommend Taylor Made Cakes for any occasion.

Carolyn Taylor made a cake for my 100 person wedding in Purcellville, VA on May 15th. The cake was beautiful! We picked out the design and emailed her a pictures after our tasting, and she was able to replicate the design perfectly! Best of all, the cake tasted great and we had many compliments.

Carolyn did a fantastic job with our wedding cake. We wanted something simple and very tasty and she delivered wonderfully. The cake arrived on time and matched our invitations very well. We received many compliments on the Citrus-Poppy Seed tiers and, although I didn't personally get any, the Chocolate-Hazelnut middle tier. If you're looking for something intricately designed like you'd see on Ace of Cakes or other shows, that may not be Carolyn, but if you're looking for the tastiest wedding cake you've ever had, definitely go Taylor Made. Would highly recommend her to anyone in Western Loudoun and the surrounding areas.

Had a couple logistical issues, but Carolyn was willing to work with us to make sure we were satisfied. Great customer service!

Carolyn is one of the most talented people I have ever met. Her cakes are beautiful, but much more than that, they taste PHENOMENAL!!! She is a true artist. Whatever vision you might have in your head as a cake she can create, and it will taste better than any cake you have ever had before. My husband and I cannot wait to commission her to make more cakes. She is truly a gem.

Carolyn makes amazing cakes, if you are going for flavor she is the way to go, every sample we had in our tasting was amazing and the cake got rave reviews from our guests. She also customized our cake to match colors and ribbons we had on our centerpieces, which was very nice. The only issue we had was the cake was late on the day of, but it made it right before the reception and it all worked out, she sent us a letter to apologize and explain the situation after the wedding and it was a situation beyond her control. Over all a good experience and delicious cake!

Carolyn did a great job. The design of our cake was simple and classic, but the most important part for us was the TASTE! We wanted the cake to be delicious and not an after thought. Well - Carolyn succeeded. We choose the almond praline, chocolate raspberry and carrot cake - and our guests ate almost every last bite. I'm looking forward to cutting into our topper soon, and Carolyn is nice enough to do a FRESH 1 year anniversary cake at minimal cost. So I'll be coming back for that in a year. Definitely recommend Taylor Made Cakes, Carolyn is easy to work with but most importantly her cakes look and TASTE great!

Carolyn Taylor makes light and flavorful cakes. Her lemon-flavored cakes are the best! I was nervous to find someone in Loudoun County for my vineyard wedding, but was pleasantly surprised to find a hidden treasure in Cakes by Taylor Made. I received many comments after the wedding wondering who did the cake. I explained to her just general ideas about cake design, and she produced a cake that was completely on point. I felt good to know that I had a top-notch cake made by a local resident of Loudoun County.

Carolyn was so great to work with. Her cakes are delicious as well as beautiful. She did our grooms cake (in the shape of a Nintendo) and it was a hit at the rehearsal dinner. Our wedding cake was stunning. Everyone thought it was gorgeous as well as very very delicious!

Carolyn was a pleasure to plan with and organize my thoughts about the wedding. She was always easy to get a hold of and responsive to answer my questions. My disappointment came when my wedding cake did not show up on time the day of my wedding. In fact, the cake did not arrive until after the wedding ceremony--causing much distress to my wedding planner and my mother. There was no call made or even an attempt to let us know there was a problem with the cake or that it would be late. In the end the cake was so late that the appropriate flowers were not even able to be put on my cake in the way that I had ordered them--an extreme disappoint to any bride and groom.

Carolyn Taylor is so nice and so easy to work with. We only had to meet once, do a tasting, work out the design of the cake and that was it! She made us a wonderful cake that was exactly my "vision". Not only did it look perfect but it tasted so delicious!!

Fabulous cake. They are truly homemade and you can taste the quality ingredients she uses. The decoration was amazing and I did not see a disappointed face in the crowd after everyone had their piece and seconds!

Carolyn created beautiful and tasty cupcakes for our May wedding at Whitehall Manor. She also created a beautiful cupcake stand to display the cupcakes. Additionally Carolyn created sugar cookies with our monogram on them to carry out the monogram theme of our wedding. They were amazing. Every last cupcake and cookie was gone at the end of the night. Everything looked great and tasted wonderful. We received many compliments on everything and how tasty it all was. Carolyn was easy to get in touch with and very reasonable for the service she provides. She goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect.

Carolyn was so attentive, she spent a great deal of time asking me what we wanted. What she delivered was exactly what we wanted. The cake tasted amazing.

I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful or delicious wedding cake. Carolyn Taylor made just what I'd hoped for.

The caterer forced me to choose from one of two bakers for my cake. I did not really like my choices limited for me. But I understood the reason behind this….they wanted to use a trusted source that will provide the best for events. I chose Carolyn Taylor to make our cake for several reasons. She makes her cakes out of her home near Whitehall Estate. Because of budget constraints I could not afford to pay $3-4 a serving for Carolyn’s typical cakes. However, Carolyn worked with us. She needed to make a new demo fake cake for her upcoming wedding season and allowed me to design my dream cake that she would be able to use in subsequent shows. She then made sheet cakes to serve to our guests. Since most of the cost comes from the labor of staking each cake tier we were able to save a lot of money on the sheet cakes (about ½). Carolyn delivered and set everything up the day of the wedding and added real flowers to the demo cake that I left for her. Unfortunately, I only got one bite of cake on my wedding day (for the “cutting” of the cake) and don’t really remember it but I hear it was very well received by guests. I remember from the tasting her cakes are very good and she has lots of choices and you can customize whatever you want. I would highly recommend her, but she is a bit pricey.

I had several cakes for wedding related events from Taylor Made- my shower, the rehearsal dinner and the wedding cake. She did an excellent job with all of them! Carolyn can make so many different styles, our rehearsal cake was a guitar and we loved it. Not only is the style great, but her cakes are made from scratch and taste fantastic.

Our cake was beautiful and delicious - we couldn't have been more pleased. The design turned out beautifully and she even incorporated our monogram perfectly. She also baked a groom's cake for our rehearsal dinner and it turned out wonderfully too. We got many, many compliments on both!

we went to two cake tastings for our wedding. the first lady, the cake was like box cake and her designs were uninspiring. then we tasted carolyn's cakes, and we were amazed! all the flavors we had were so unique and delectable. it was difficult to choose. her cake designs are also very impressive. we gave her pictures of cake designs we liked, and she produced a lovely cake for us. all our guests commented on how good the cake was and how it was the best wedding cake they had had! i would have expected to pay more for that quality, but her prices are very reasonable.

The cake was delicious! Carolyn made it pretty simple to choose the design we liked and didn't like. I was told by the caterer that there was always cake left over after every wedding they did. Ours was completely gone by the end of the night! Cake was not dry, and the flavors are really excellent.

This woman did a specialty cake for us. She created colors from a fabric swatch I sent her and the cake was just amazing. We had very little left after the cake was served which is what I wanted. I didn't want to be sent home with cake galore, I wanted my guests to enjoy it! She makes sure you sample whatever you desire and will promptly put together something fun if she doesn't have exactly what you're looking for!

Carolyn did exactly what I pictured: a simple, elegant cake. I provided her with ribbon for each tier, and she did her thing! She arranged the flowers in a way that was graceful, and of course, it was the most delicious cake ever! After four other tastings, we knew hers was by far the best. Even her authentic buttercream frosting is flavored with liqueur like Frangelico or Creme de Cacao. She studied at Le Cordon Bleu for a reason! We went with the chocolate hazelnut truffle cake and the white velvet butter cake. Phenomenal.

Excellent quality cake and friendly service. Irritating that she asked us to drop off the plates or swallow the deposit. Who has time for that the day after a wedding? Otherwise no complaints. People love the cake and it was even good after one year in the freezer.
