Calvary is absolutely beautiful with stained glass windows and an old cathedral kind of feel. It is managed by a preservation society, which is one of the big reasons that people are allowed to get married there. The cost for the place is $625, which is on the higher end for ceremony sites, but you get Tiffany stained glass windows in the deal. Come on! Our date, April 18, is the first date that they would allow a wedding. They do not use the sanctuary during winter months so they don't have to heat the large space.
We got married in the church we belong to, Calvary United Methodist Church. It was absolutely beautiful. The church offers a wedding planner to help get everything organized, you can pay for their pianist if you don’t have one of your own, and since the church is newer the lighting can be changed in the chapel to fit the mood of the ceremony you are wanting. We got married at night and wanted most of the lighting to come from the candles, the sound and light technician was able to create that for us. Our Pastor Randy got to know Justin and I before the wedding day and actually told the story of how we met. Later everyone commented on how wonderful it was to learn the story of how we became ‘us.’ If you are looking for a newer church where everyone will feel welcome, then this is the church site for you.
