Canterbury strings were wonderful to work with! I was always emailed promptly with any answers I needed and Kate was always very friendly! She helped me decide what music would work best, and was very accommodating. At the last minute we hired a soloist to perform with them during the ceremony and Kate was very helpful with getting the right sheet music and understanding. The guests loved them and thought it was such a nice touch to the wedding!!! Kate is very professional with a smile on her face the entire time!!! I would absolutely recommend them!!!! :)

Canterbury Strings are AWESOME! I would highly recommend Kate and her team. Kate was extremely responsive to her emails and answered all of my questions. I really wanted violinist to play at my wedding. Everybody in my family included my husband said I shouldn’t bother to hire violinist and that I could just have my dj provide the music. But I hired them anyways and as soon as they started to play I had everyone who told me not to hire them tell me how amazing they sounded. Throughout my entire wedding day, I had many guest come up to my husband and I and tell us how wonderful they sounded. Almost two months later after the wedding, I still have people emailing me and telling me how great they were. I can’t say enough about Kate and her team but thank you ladies!

Canterbury Strings performed my ceremony music and cocktail hour for my October 1 wedding. The trio was exceptionally professional. Dealing with Kate for my contract, I found their pricing to be the most competitive. Their sound is top notch. Additionally, Canterbury Strings shows up on time and performed all my selected pieces with beauty and without mistake. I found them to be exceptional and of tremendous value. They did a great job and I believe any bride would be happy with their services.

Canterbury Strings provided a string trio to play during my ceremony and my cocktail reception and they were wonderful! During the planning process, they were extremely responsive, followed up with me at the proper time and gave great input to help me decide on my music. The best part was that they were extremely affordable! I had priced out several different string trios in the area and was ready to go above budget to get live string music for my wedding. Fortunately, I found Canterbury Strings and was able to get gorgeous live string music at a price that was more than reasonable. I would highly recommend this group to anyone looking for string music at their wedding!

Kate and her team were absolutely wonderful! My husband and I couldn't have been more pleased with the ceremony music. The music was absolutely gorgeous and Kate was excellent through the whole process. She was extremely pleasant, helpful, and professional from my first inquiry all through the planning. She was more than willing to learn the accompany music for the responsorial psalm we selected for our ceremony and pulled it off fantastically, even though I sprung the sheet music on her with only a few weeks to go. Furthermore, Kate was more than willing to work with my sister-in-law who acted as cantor on our wedding day. I got rave reviews from my guests on how beautiful the music was and my husband still occasionally mentions how Kate and her team were a perfect addition to our ceremony. I highly recommend you use Kate for your event!

The ceremony music was AMAZING! I used the string trio and could not have been happier. Every song I asked for they played, and everyone knew exactly what it was. Kate was amazing to coordinate with and extremely helpful. I have and will continue to recommend to anyone i know who is getting married!!! Thank you for the amazing music :)

Althought I wasnt able to hear all of their pre/post wedding selections (but I will when I get the video back), I've heard great things from our guests. Highly recommended!

We just had the Canterbury Strings play at our wedding on 9/25/10 and they were wonderful. It was a very hectic day for us and there was an accident that closed down the main road to the ceremony, causing us to delay the ceremony by about 20 minutes. The string trio went above an beyond playing throughout the time that we waited for the ceremony to start, playing past the time that we had originally contracted them for, and doing it without complaint. They played beautifully and I got many compliments on how well they played. Their pricing was very reasonable compared to other sting trios/ quartets that we were looking at and they were well worth every penny spent!

A friend helped me search for a string trio as I had my heard set on one. She came across the craigslist ad for Canterbury Strings.

From the onset, founder Kate was very responsive and professional. The trio even learned two new pieces I request (for a small fee) so that we could have unique music for my walk down the aisle and an interlude during the ceremony.

They arrived on time to the ceremony and sounded beautiful. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Canterbury strings was very accomodating to make everything work out. All of the guests loved them and thought it was such a nice touch to the wedding!!! I hired Canterbury Strings to play during my ceremony at the Tremont Grand. Communication was done via email and Kate is good at responding to emails. I wasn't too particular about song selections so I gave her a list of songs I wanted them to play during the processional, etc, but asked her to play a light classical music during the guests were seating. I heard them playing when I was waiting in the bride's room next to the ceremony hall and thought they played beautifully.

One thing that threw me off was that I had requested and provided sheet music for a song everyone were to sing during the ceremony. Kate said it's not a problem and they can certainly play it. They were supposed to play AFTER the opening prayer (which was after the bride's processional) but they just started playing after I got to the front and stood with my husband. Our officiant was a bit thrown off and he waited for 30 seconds or so for the trio to stop playing so he can start praying, but they wouldn't stop so he just had to interrupt and ask everyone to join him for a prayer. Then they played the song, which was supposed to end after repeating the chorus twice, but they kept playing the chorus repeatedly (like 5 times). It made me think that they didn't really practice before they came or read the program before the ceremony started, as the program had the lyrics and how the chorus was to repeat twice (not 5 times).

Kate emailed me the very next day apologizing for playing the song abruptly, which is the reason I'm giving them 4.0 for professionalism instead of 3.0. I'd have to say, they do play the classical songs beautifully but if you have a special song for your ceremony (we requested a gospel song), make sure they know when to start and when to end.

My guests were thrilled with the music provided by the Canterbury Strings-- it set just the right tone for our intimate church wedding. The women were dressed in professional dressy black, came early and were no hassle at all-- which is a great thing on a wedding day! They were one of the last details we put into place, a great finishing touch. Our wedding was in Bethesda, MD, so I know they are willing to travel in the region. I was thrilled to have them be part of our wedding; they are a great value for the money.
