Going into this, I knew it would be pricey. However, I have short hair. I was told on the phone that they were booking me for a bridal updo just so I had an hour and they would charge me for whatever service I got when I was there. Basically my hair was curled and recurled for over an hour which then made me late for the make up which was fine but it overall made me late for the time that I had planned on leaving the salon leaving little time to finish getting ready. The $135 that I was charged for my hair to be curled I think was ridiculous. I did like my makeup and eyelashes. I opted for airbrush makeup which wasn't that big of a deal I don't think for an extra $25. I probably wouldn't do it again. Overall with tip, I think I spent like $350. Loved my wedding but if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't go there. I think I had a hairdresser who didn't have a lot of vision for my short hair.

I have to admit that I was slightly intimidated when I scheduled my appointment at the Canyon Ranch Salon for my wedding day hair and makeup. The surroundings are very upscale and I was so afraid that everyone would be snotty and rude.
I was so pleasantly surprised when I realized that the hair stylist and make up artist who would be creating my look were such sweet, down-to-earth people.
I began by giving my hair stylist a general idea of what I wanted: An up do that would survive a trip to the desert. She created a look that I never would have chosen simply because I didn't think I would be able to pull it off. However, she did a wonderful job and my hair looked great. Thanks to some teasing, a few hundred bobby pins and enough hair spray to make me a fire hazard, my hair could have lasted for a week!
The most fun I had was with my make up. For an additional cost I selected airbrush makeup as opposed to foundation and I decided to try out some false eyelashes to make my eyes pop. The stylist did such an amazing job. My best feature is my blue eyes and she did a wonderful job of bringing that out.
Even though the people were down-to-earth, the prices were a little steep. I usually don't splurge on myself for things like hair and make up, but it was my wedding day so I indulged and it was worth every penny.
