Leading up to the wedding I was resolved that I would do my hair myself, but at the last minute I changed my mind and made an appointment. I was lucky and didn’t have to book a consultation because the stylist was there at the time, and we talked really quickly over what I wanted. I was worried that the salon would have been busy, but there was barely anyone there. I bought my own hair accessories from a Claire’s, which I found sold pretty bridal hair pieces for fairly cheap. I was the only one who had my hair professionally done, and I made sure that the other bridesmaids just wore their hair in a tight bun.

Kim was an acquaintance before the wedding, but I had never utilized her as a hairdresser before. I'm so glad I did. She did a fantastic job with both my hair and makeup (using Tigi products), AND she even travelled to our hotel room to do my hair for me so that I didn't have to make an extra trip. I woke up the day of my wedding feeling fat and zitty...and she completely put me at ease. She loves what she does, and she is talented. I think one of the most important things for a bride to remain calm is to be around professional, warm, personable people...so I would give Kim my highest recommendation.

I got a spa treatment gift for all my bridesmaids. I thought it was sweet that they offered to pay for their own dresses, and I was so glad that they helped me with the invitations and decorations. I chose this spa because I actually got a gift certificate there as a wedding shower present, and I thought they gave me an excellent French manicure. I gave my bridesmaids the choice of a pedicure, or a manicure, or a facial, and I spoke with the receptionist and I made sure that I would be charged for the treatment. It worked out really well.
