Canton is such a beautiful location and I am so happy to say that my husband and I were married there. The experience was AMAZING. We both loved the history behind the venue and the present beauty. Leigh at Carnton was WONDERFUL to work with. Very professional and friendly and willing to help out in any way she was able. She provided a lot of suggestions for vendors and didn't steer us wrong with any of them. If you are thinking about Carton for your wedding site you wont be disappointed (Just be sure to get a tent in case of rain).

The Carnton Plantation was a wonderful venue to have our reception. The coordinator there was very helpful and informative. Our wedding was perfect and we would not change anything about our reception!

The place was great and SOOO perfect for our wedding. It was gorgeous. The only thing we did not like was the cost. We paid $3,000 just to have our wedding there, and nothing else was included. I think some things such as chairs, or tables, or something could be thrown in with that cost, or maybe the cost could be lowered. But, all in all, the place was great.

The site itself is beautiful. With flowers and arbors, it's a great location for an outdoor wedding. We will be having both our reception and our wedding at the site, which is very convenient. They are supposed to have a new building finished by the time we have our wedding here, which will provide us an indoor location in case of rain.
Although the location is beautiful, they have an exclusive vendor for tables, chairs, tents, etc. which is a bit frustrating. Initially they had one vendor who I was trying to work with, but he didn't have the right insurance. So, they had to switch exclusive vendors. Although this didn't affect my plans because the old vendor was so difficult to get in touch with, it is rather annoying that they require a specific vendor.

Carnton Plantation is a beautiful place to have your wedding. Not only is it a fun historical site, but your guests will be captivated by its natural beauty! The workers there are friendly and usually pretty quick to respond to any questions. However, the only downfall is that it seems everyone works on a different page. We had one person tell us we had to have the reception end by 11pm and then the other person said it didn't matter what time we ended. They are a little strict about some rules that seem to be silly to begin with. Overall, we had a very good experience and have been back to Carnton for other events since our wedding.

We absolutely loved Carnton Plantation! It is a beautiful venue with gorgeous natural surroundings that require no decorating at all. They underwent a change in wedding coordinators while we were planning, but the transition, at least for us, went relatively smoothly. They were extremely flexible and quick to answer my questions. There were tours going on during the day, but that's understandable.... there's a wedding there almost every weekend and they would lose TONS of money by closing the plantation everytime there was a wedding. We didn't start our ceremony until almost 6 so the tourists were gone before we started. The only issue we had with them was that after the reception, our families were unsure where to put the garbage bags so they left them neatly stacked under the tent. The wedding coordinator called freaking out that we had left the place a mess and there was garbage everywhere; my family drove an hour and half to find 3 pieces of dry garbage on the ground. Other than that, we loved the plantation and would highly recommend it to anyone!

The plantation is gorgeous. However, if you have a wedding during the day prepare to have tourists watching. They do not stop giving tours when you rent the place for a wedding. They almost closed the place up on Friday night when we were about to have our rehearsal. The sprinklers came on minutes after the wedding was over (thank God).

The Carnton Plantation was a perfect venue for our summer wedding and reception. The garden's were absolutely beautiful and it the location was great for our guests who were from Illinois and Minnesota! I can't tell you how many people we've had tell us our wedding was the most beautiful wedding they've ever seen because of the gorgeous tree we married under, the gardens, and the house itself. As our party favor, we opened the Carnton to guests for a tour while we took our photos after the wedding. It gave the guests something to do while we took our pictures and it was really interesting too!
I have had the opportunity to plan several weddings at Carnton (and more in 2012!), and it has quickly become one of my favorite venues. Their event manager, Leigh, is fantastic to work with. The grounds at Carnton are gorgeous and well maintained, and there is a lot of flexibility to ensure that any event can be accommodated.
We absolutely love working with Leigh and everyone at Carnton! Always so helpful and accommodating. They make our job so seamless.
The Carnton Plantation is a beautiful setting for a wedding venue or any event. I have worked with many brides and florists setting up this historic plantation with wedding flowers.
We LOVE shooting at Carnton Plantation! It is an absolutely amazing place to get married at and of course, AWESOME for amazing images :) A bride cannot go wrong having her wedding here.
If you are in the market for a wedding venue, Historic Carnton Plantation is amazing. Elizabeth is easy to work with and very helpful. I will have my first event at the new Fleming Center in April and can't wait to utilize the new facility.
