Catering by Laurie

We were recommended Catering by Laurie by a business friend. We immediately contacted Laurie and were impressed by her knowledge and energy. Laurie discussed our menu options on the phone then mailed her all the information about our event!

She invited us into her home, where she let us sample all her menu options. Laurie then proceeded to plan and coordinate our event! She suggested the Ainsworth and Gardens House, which turned out to be a beautiful location! We had 70 + guests and the entire event went off with out a hitch! The food, service and everything was spectacular! We would recommend Laurie and her staff to anyone!

Laurie was wonderful to work with. She is great at communicating by phone or email.
She invited us to her home (she has commercial kitchen and operates from her home), for our tasting. She has a vast menu, which is tasty and all beautifully done.
She not only has a great menu, but her service is all inclusive. She provides the caterers, bartenders, cake service, linens, glasses and cutlery for a very fair and reasonable price. There is no nickle and diming you. Everything is so upfront.
She is very organized and her process is seamless. Her caterers and servers were very familiar with the venue and helped direct the flow of things and were pleasant to work with.
I was also pleasently surprised when they showed up with vases of flowers, in my colors, to place around.

Laurie's menu of options are vast and really helpful in selecting what to serve guests, however it is difficult to know what the food will be like in advance and I had mixed feelings about the outcome (my rehearsal dinner food cost ~the same but was plated and FABULOUS in comparison). Standouts include: the dessert buffet was amazing, the bartenders (Doc) and details to personalize the wedding were great, the flow of delivery/clearing for dancing/pack-up of leftovers for bride & groom was effortless, and communication via e-mail was very responsive. Downsides: verbal communication was sometimes not heard, the chicken was extremely dry, tastings in advance are limited.

Laurie is outstanding. The food was fantastic, she is very professional, and she can work with any budget. I would use her for other events in a heartbeat.

If you are thinking about a caterer for your wedding Laurie is excellent. Both my daughers got married in the same year and this was the second wedding Laurie catered. The wedding was held at the NW Children's Theatre ballroom on Everett street in Portland. There is no kitchen and had a very small bar area. Lauries staff was on time, they are friendly and helpful, work very hard, had everything ready, a great display of food. They clean up and help you to the very end. I had many many compliments on the food, and service. I was so thankful for Laurie and her staff because they were the rock of this wedding. Laurie is always on top of things and she gets eveyone orgainized. I had many other problems with this wedding, but not with the catering. Thank you Laurie for the wonderful service from you and your staff and helping me stay within my budget. When there is good food and drinks your guests will be very happy. I highly recommend Catering by Laurie!!

Laurie and her team did an amazing job, the food was good, and looked beautiful. I loved that it was an all inclusive package with the linens and serving wear.

My wife and I are very glad we selected Catering by Laurie for the catering at our wedding. All of the food was very tasty! She adapted her menu choices to our dietary preferences. I would highly recommend Catering by Laurie to cater any event. I first got to try Laurie’s food at my workplace. She catered dinners for the accountants and partners at my firm. The food is really good, and the portion sizes filled everyone up with leftovers. She has been coming to my office during tax season for many years. So when both my daughters got engaged on the same day and both were planning weddings, I thought of Laure.
I first contacted Laure for my oldest daughter who is getting married this June 2012. Laurie was very professional and really does a great job explaining the food, and her services. She makes you a sample tray to try so you can get an idea of what you want to serve at the wedding. It was fun to taste the food and pick what you want her to serve at the wedding. We told her our budget and picked the entries, services etc. in our price range. This was wonderful!! Laurie is very professional and really makes sure every detail is covered.
So when my youngest daughter told me she was getting married in January 2012 with a big wedding of over 200 people, I knew Laurie could work with our budget. The wedding reception was beautiful and the food was displayed in a gorgeous way. Somehow I thought we could get family to serve at the wedding, but Laurie insisted that we needed her staff. She was right!! We could never have done a wedding with over 200 people without her staff. The staff members that came to work at the wedding made the reception go off without any problems. Both women knew exactly what to tell our family members so they could help serve. They worked to keep the buffet, desert tables, and punch table looking great all night. The fruit porcupine made the table look beautiful and was a hit along with the meatballs and the cupcakes. It was a beautiful reception and a great night. It could not have gone better. Laurie’s staff is very positive, professional and hard working. They cleaned everything up, packaged up all the leftovers and made our wedding reception something family and friends are still talking about. They even made a little package of food for the bride and groom to take with them. I got so many complements on how good the food tasted and the beautiful way it was displayed.
We are all looking forward to have Laurie fully catering my oldest daughter’s wedding in June 2012. I have full confidence that everything will be done. I am so thankful for Laurie, her husband, and her staff. I would highly recommend her Catering by Laurie.

Catering by Laurie was a perfect fit for our wedding. Living with Celiac disease it is very hard to find caterers to accommodate someone who has to live gluten free. Laurie knew all about catering for my wedding day and the special needs I had in order to make the food safe for me to eat. Laurie and her crew were awesome and very attentive to guests making sure that everthing was clearly marked and readily available. All of Laurie's staff was very professional and attentive to the needs of this wedding and it just made my wedding day go that much better. Thank you Laurie and staff for making the food wonderful for our wedding day, and for taking care of a bride with special food needs.

Laurie and her staff were professional, friendly and great to work with before and during our wedding. The food was delicious--it was difficult to choose from the wide variety offered. Presentation was fabulous. I would recommend Catering by Laurie for any event.

Laurie made sure that my experience was as easy as possible. From the tasting to the event I never had to worry about a thing and when I did and called Laurie she was always there and answered all my questions with ease. I truly only had to pick the menu and forget about it. Everything was taken care of professionally and by friendly people. I highly highly recommend Catering by Laurie to anyone for any event. The food was amazing and absolutely delicious. Laurie adds so many perks and personal touches she is a wonderful person to work with who takes alot of pride in her food and her business!!

Co$t didn't add up after we reduced the # of guests. The average price went up almost $4.00 per person! The food was great, although, they ran out of punch within an hour of the reception starting...? The serving staff was very kind, but made quite the mess in serving our cake... and left the mess to be cleaned up by the bridal party. Would give a B-

Laurie was great. She had 4 servers at the reception helping us with everything we needed. The food tasted so good. We chose heavy appetizers because of the time of the reception and we were able to choose any 8 or 9 items we wanted from her menu. She worked well within our budget and didn’t skimp on anything. She provided all our linens, plates, and silverware. She also packed all our leftovers for us. We had an after-reception party and were able to feed everyone there with all the leftover food. She was organized and well-prepared. We’re still getting rave reviews about the food.
