Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart

We loved the Cathedral Basilica, as it is breathtaking, inspiring, and absolutely amazing. We became parishioners and will continue attending mass here, however there were some things that I would recommend being prepared for. First it was extremely expensive and did eat up a big portion of our budget. There were a lot of hoops that you had to jump through in regards to having the program proof read by Ms. McAlee, the paperwork, and other things attached to the wedding process. We worked with Deacon Tom and Father Oscar...both were amazing and really made the experience enjoyable (pre-cana and numerous meetings to prepare for the mass). Father Oscar was wonderful and did a great job with the ceremony. Overall, if you can afford it, I would really recommend the Cathedral for a ceremony.

this place is so beautiful. We worked with Mary Clare who you keep it all together. We were very lucky that our date was open considering they only do one weddings on Friday. The beginning process is a pain but once you get the necessary paperwork in they really do such a beautiful job. They do such a nice job at getting their couples ready for this big commitment. I know people complain about their rules but IMHO, it didn’t bother me. I didn’t think it was bad at all. The church is so beautiful & the few things they ask of you are to keep the church looking beautiful. We used the priest from my husband’s church. This was I think the biggest problem we had on the wedding day. MH priest is a DOLL. Just the sweetest man you could ever meet & he was thrilled when MH asked him to marry us. MH was his alter boy growing up so it was very special to both of them. Well, the day of the wedding, unfortunately the priest got the time confused. He thought it was at 6pm & the ceremony was at 4pm. We started about 1 hr late. He felt terrible. In the end, it didn’t marry. We were married & it was beautiful!!
