Christine and her husband, Cary, provided the photography for our eco-friendly, garden wedding last spring. From the moment I met Christine, I knew that she was the perfect fit for our wedding. It was very important for my husband and I to work with vendors that are small, local and truly care about providing the very best on our special day, as well as photograph gorgeous outdoor and tent weddings and Christine Barker Photography fit that bill to a T. Christine and I met several times the year prior to our wedding to go over the specifics of the day, our style, and layout of the album. Christine was always dependable, honest, sincere, and shared in the excitement of our wedding along every step of the way. She is a professional who truly loves what she does, which is evident through her work. Christine may be a little bit pricier than other photographers out there, but she is worth every penny. Christine and Cary were able to capture the emotion in every photo. Christine provides a contemporary approach to her photos vs. traditional/posed photography, which is what we desired in a photographer. Christine made us and our bridal party and families feel so comfortable in front of the camera as she was very unobtrusive. She was open to the fact that we wanted to have fun and enjoy every moment of the day. And she delivered, as we had 1000 amazing photos to choose from for our album, which came out beautifully in the end. We even had a mini version of our album made for my husband's parents and a collage frame for mine (done through professionals Christine knows and works with frequently). Our parents loved their gifts and we know they will be treasured forever. Christine's talent allows her to bring out the simplicity of love in an elegant and unforgettable way. We are very satisfied with work of Christine Barker Photography and we are looking forward to working with Christine in the future, perhaps with maternity and family photos ;)

I first met Christine at a local bridal event several months before our wedding. My fiance and I had already chosen a photographer for our date, but the moment I saw Christine's work, decor and vintage-inspired style, I couldn't walk away. Plus, she had an amazing personality that really showed me that not only was she responsive and available, but that she cared much more about me as a bride {and a person} than she did about making a profit.

In regards to cost and affordability, Christine worked with us to design a package that met our most valued desires and needs: full day coverage, a second-shooter, an album we could be proud of, edited images on a CD to use for prints, a fun photo booth, etc. I ended up spending more than I had budgeted to spend, but knew I was getting a great deal.

Relationally, Christine went above and beyond to build a relationship with my fiance-to-be and me. We spent time with her family {her husband, who helped as a second shooter during our wedding and her son}. This helped the wedding day go much more smoothly; she knew our personalities and we knew theirs.

Unfortunately, there were a few hiccups that we experienced after the wedding: the date on our photo-booth strips was incorrect (a month off) and the album we had originally settled on apparently did not come in the size we had planned for (and photographed for) all along. Both of these things were realized AFTER the fact and it was too late to really do anything about them. We were disappointed, for sure, but do feel that Christine was very much apologetic for things she could (and could not) control. We were compensated with free enlargements, a better album and other perks to make up for these hiccups. In the grand scheme of things, they were not monumental, just unfortunate.

Overall, we would definitely recommend Christine Barker Photography to others. Her vintage eye, hospitality and overall product is definitely worth it!!!!

Its obvious that she loves what she does and has no problem putting the extra effort in her work. She gave us beautiful and creative wedding photos. It was a delightful experience.

What primary photographic style do you identify with?

What do your packages include?

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?

I do retouch both my digital and 35mm photos.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?

Yes

Is your media preference film or digital?

Typically I shoot Digital first then I use film to accent it. There is nothing like a truly one of a kind photo.

How many photographers do you work with?

My husband and I shoot all weddings together

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

Absolutely!

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

No.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

In the very unlikely event that I will not be able to make it, I do my up most to ensure that your day is seamlessly covered.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

A full line of Canon Professional cameras and lenses (as well as a second set for back up purposes)

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

Yes I do.

Do you charge hourly or full day?

I have a'la carte pricing collections start at 6 hours of photography.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?

I can stay later, it is determined at the time of the contract what rate additional hours will be charged.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

We may stop for a drink or a quick snack, but we bring all of our own food, and find formal breaks more of a "missed" photo opportunity. So they are usually very short.

Do you charge for travel?

There is no charge for travel for up to 100 miles outside the Baltimore area. Then I do charge 50.00 per hour of traveling after that. Anything over 200 miles will be talked about separately.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

Proofs are given as soon as they are completed. In the contract 6 weeks is given, but it has been sooner sometimes.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?

There is a viewing meeting, and then all images are placed online.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

All images are given in web format with a watermark. Print copies are available for purchase.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

Typically I do

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?

All images are converted to digital.

Will images be available for viewing online?

Typically, yes.

What kind of albums do you offer?

I LOVE it when a client is creative and requests things outside of the normal album.

When will the client get the final album?

That will depend on when the client is able to meet with me after the proofs to put it together. The sooner we can design it, the sooner you will have it back.
