Ceremonies by Bill

Bill was the officiant of my wedding on 4/20/13 and he was brilliant. My husband and I are a bit goofy and chose to incorporate some humor into the ceremony and Bill rolled right along with it!! Humor aside, his sentiments were absolutely beautiful!! I've received multiple comments from guests that Bill's words were the most beautiful expressions of love and marriage that they've heard. And I agree. He was also extremely flexible. We asked him to incorporate a knot tying ceremony and he did so without flinching. Bill was wonderful. I would recommend him to everyone! I'm so glad that he was available for our wedding.

My partner and I contacted Bill less than 2 weeks before our ceremony without any idea what we wanted. Bill spent about one hour with us getting to know us, what our values and likes/dislikes were and withiin a few days prepared a written service for us to review. We made some minor edits and 2 days later he was performing our ceremony. He is a natural. His demeanor, delivery and warmth came through for a perfect ceremony. All of our guests commented on what a great job he did. We could not have gotten any luckier than we did by choosing Bill. I would recommend him to anyone, whether they have precise ideas about the kind of service they want or, like us, were relatively clueless. He performed a very moving and heartfelt service.

Bill was the only officiant my husband and I met with before making our decision. From the start he was exactly what we were looking for - laid-back yet serious about the significance of the occasion. He wrote a beautiful ceremony that incorporated wonderful sentiments and values that are important to me, my husband and our families and made sure to take into account our personal philosophies of love and life. We received nothing but compliments and praise from our guests after the ceremony.

Bill Duffy is a wonderful officiant! Prior to the wedding, we sat down with Bill to talk about our ceremony, our preferences, and the surprise rose ceremony for our mothers. During the rehearsal, Bill was professional and direct - he managed to get the entire wedding party to pay attention and I loved how he took charge and showed some humor to make everyone pay attention! During the ceremony, we did an honorary candle lightning to my husband's baby brother and Bill was wonderful for providing his insight and a lovely Irish poem. He is super funny, genuine, and truly enjoys performing wedding ceremonies! He performed our romantic ceremony to perfection! It was truly my favorite part of the entire wedding!!! We couldn't ask for a better officiant. Everyone complimented us on the thoughtfulness and sweet nature of our ceremony and I would highly recommend Bill to newly engaged folks looking for a professional, genuine and knowledgeable officiant. He was wonderful to work with!

Bill helped to make our day so special. I could not have asked for a more perfect wedding and I would highly recommend Bill to everyone! He is very kind and funny and had a way of making my husband and I feel as if we knew him for years. I don't usually write reviews but the job he did was so outstanding I wanted to share.

BIll was great and fun to work with and was great in getting the rehearsal done accurately in a short amount of time so that we could enjoy our dinner. He performed the ceremony perfectly and we were so happy to work with him.

We almost had heart attacks when the officiant we had scheduled a year in advance cancelled 2 days before our wedding. Bill happened to have an opening in his busy schedule and took us on to give us the most memorable ceremony ever. Bill has the perfect balance of charm, class, professionalism, and wit that makes you feel very special and comfortable. Bill also helped guide us to develop a seamless timeline for the ceremony and he had many wonderful ideas too. Thanks you so much, Bill, for making our day so perfect!

Bill is awesome! He's so easy to work with and walks you through the entire ceremony. He also customizes it to fit your needs and goes over everything with you ahead of time. To top it off, he has the best personality and was a joy to work with. It's so nice to have someone standing there with you to lighten the mood and ease your nerves during the ceremony :)

Your wedding day is one of the most important days in your life and you need high quality reliable people who will make your day go as smooth as possible and Bill did just that. From the first time that you meet bill you know that he is a professional and that this isn't his first rodeo. If you know my wife Jamie she has millions of questions and knows exactly what she wants and Bill had all the answers that she was looking for. Bill wrote the entire service for us and we loved it, it was exactly what we wanted. On the day of our wedding we were running behind schedule and he was patient and understanding. The ceremony went smooth and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Bill also made a donation in our name to the ASPCA.  Thanks so much Bill!!!

I cannot say enough great things about Bill! He is an amazing speaker and many guests commented about the message they took away from his ceremony! I really enjoyed working with Bill! He was so flexible... we were going to write our own vows but I emailed him the night before the wedding asking if he could use the standard vows instead.. he came up with a very touching set of vows! I am truly appreciative of Bill and all that he did! He led our rehearsal and made us laugh! He is truly a great guy!

Bill is absolutely amazing!! He is funny, down to earth and really cares about the couple he is working with. After you fill out a short info packet he writes a customized ceremony for you which you can then review and he will even give you options about parts of the ceremony that you can pick between. He gave us two choices for the vows and rings part of the ceremony and other special pieces that you can choose to include or exclude. Overall I would highly recommend Bill!!!! 10 stars if it was an option!!

We love Bill! He made our ceremony a day to remember. When we had our first meeting with him you could tell he wanted to get to know us so he could offer suggestions for our special day. We found him on WeedingWire and had read prior reviews. We can say without a doubt, if you use Bill to perform your ceremony you will be happy.

We found Bill Duffy for our officiant through our ceremony and reception venue, the Gramercy Mansion, where he works. Prior to the wedding, he sat down with us and discussed what type of nondenominational ceremony we'd like to have and gave us an assortment of readings to choose from.

I had previously read on Wedding Wire and agree, to some extent, that Bill has a dry sense of humor that may leave some people nonplussed. Nonetheless, he was very kind and professional. He ran through everything with the wedding party during our rehearsal without giving too much away (like the rose ceremony for the moms) and on the wedding day, officiated our ceremony with the appropriate mix of seriousness and levity, subtly cuing us to make it appear that we knew what we were doing! We would certainly recommend Bill, particularly if you're getting married at Gramercy.

Bill was perfect!

FANTASTIC! Bill officiated our ceremony and was perfect. He was serious but added a little bit of humor to make everyone laugh. He was easy to work with and wrote a beautiful ceremony. If you don't want worry about the ceremony I would get Bill to officiate.

Bill was very helpful in putting together the ceremony for our wedding. We were able to combine his suggestions and our own ideas to come up with the perfect ceremony. We also got a copy of the ceremony on pretty paper to keep after the wedding. I would recommend Bill as an officiant to anyone.

Bill was a very pleasant and gracious officiant. We are a blended family and he provided alternatives to allow us to fully incorporate our family, including our children (and our dog) in the wedding ceremony. He maintained a respectful command of the timing of the ceremony and was actually quite witty and funny. He added much character and reverence to our beautiful day. I would certainly recommend him to others.

Bill truly cares about the couples he's married and works with them to create a ceremony that reflects their style. He is professional, reliable and immediately puts you at ease.
